Have Warriors tried or been dared to sleep upside-down? 🦇
He hasn't nodded off upside-down yet but he does do some of his watches upside-down so it's bound to happen. He's waiting for someone to notice he does his watches upside-down first though.

If you could change one (1) thing in the LoZ-franshise and it would become canon, what would you change?
Hmmm that’s a tough one! I can think of a lot of things, but if I had to pick one... I think I would make the timeline make actual, linear, SENSE.
Like, I put up with it the way that it is, but it could be soooo much better. The branching timeline thing is out of control, the four sword games (especially fsa) make no sense where they are, Hyrule Warriors isn’t canon even though it should be, the downfall timeline’s reason for existing is angsty and all but it just feels like a cop-out, and there’s too much time travel all over the place that just isn’t necessary. Hmph 😤
My second choice would be actual CONFIRMED ZELINK because then I wouldn’t have to put up with dumb takes because people have no reading comprehension (or whatever it would be for a video game)

I love Marrow's design 🤍🤍🤍 Does Marrow like cooking or have it not been introduced/figured out the concept yet? What does it and Link think of each other? 👀
marrow has only seen the concept of cooking put into practice by observing the yiga from faraway—and because of that, it probably thinks cooking is exclusively used for bananas (smth he doesn't have access to in the depths unless he steals from the yiga themselves). he's familiar with the concept of cooking meat, though he always chars it when he tries. he doesn't cook very often. i'd say the most creative thing he's ever "done" with "food" is him taking a bite out of the giant mushroom trees VGEYAIV
marrow sees link long before link sees marrow. marrow is very good at going about unannounced in the darkness, and link is a bit of a fumbling silly hylian in the same setting, so marrow actually follows link around quite a lot before he's ever even aware it's there. marrow thinks this new creature shaped like the yiga is very interesting. they bring in new light sources that marrow loves and soaks in gladly—this guy has WAY more brightbloom seeds than the yiga ever do, and he sprinkles them around like he's trying to grow a garden
marrow cannot help but feel there is something disturbingly familiar about the guy. he just never quite gets it, even when link finally does.
link actually reads about marrow before he sees it, too. in the book entries the yiga leave about in their camps, link occasionally sees mentions of "The Echo," described as a creature with the face of the very guy they have a mission to kill. mysterious, skittish, sometimes hostile, mostly curious. link thinks maybe it's some creature conjured up by ganon's gloom, despite some of the conspiracy theories written in the yiga entries
the first time link sees marrow is when marrow willingly comes out into the open. link sees a hylian body with animal-like hindlegs and a tail, concerningly visible bones, and a face that, while partially covered by thicker gibdo skin, is instantly recognizable as his own. he keeps it together outwardly. inwardly, he's freaking the fuck out
it's... kind of disturbing, looking at marrow. imagine seeing a clone of yourself, but like,, Really Fucked Up. think of the general vibes of the famous bonding scene between hiccup and toothless—link attempting to befriend this thing that's obviously not made of gloom but a living creature, and marrow having his general jumpy and untrusting nature constantly overshadowed by curiosity. when link moves too quickly at some point, marrow is scuttling into the shadows and not coming back out. link is left wondering
if this thing was just a creature with a random face that he didn't recognize, link wouldn't be nearly as bothered. he'd just think Wow That Was Crazy and go on with his day, since there's Other crazy shit in the depths to look at. but this thing had his face. that's . not something to ignore
link has no idea who to ask about this. he considers interrogating the yiga, but judging by their entries abt "the echo" they're just as clueless. he asks josha about it instead. josha bursts into ramblings about theories and starts flipping through books upon books of notes, asking questions link hadn't even considered and doesn't particularly want the answers to. josha suggests trying to find this creature again, to study him and learn. link shrugs; yeah aight
link catches onto the fact that marrow is attracted to light, so at some point he just tosses a bunch of brightbloom seeds on the ground and sits in the decaying moss, waiting. sure enough, marrow slinks out from the darkness and slowly but surely worms his way to link until they're a few feet apart, staring at each other
link asks marrow who they are, signing and speaking in case it doesn't understand one or the other. marrow tilts its head. okay. so it doesn't understand both
an obstacle to be sure, but it doesn't discourage him. he lets marrow lead the conversation instead—"conversation" being marrow poking at the lanterns of link's miner's set and watching them wobble and dangle around. link sees his clawed fingers in the light. he decides to be very careful about making any sudden movements
over time, their meetings became more casual, and more frequent. there are stretches of time where link doesn't enter the depths bc he's busy on the surface looking for zelda, but when he does come down, marrow is seemingly always nearby, despite the depths being just as big as hyrule itself
link asks marrow at some point if he knows of a zelda, or where she might be. marrow tilts his head again, crunching the glowing petals of a brightbloom seed between his fingers. ok.
later into link's journey, he starts to realize that he often finds marrow Somewhere near the secret spring of revival; if marrow isn't following along behind him after a while of him being down there, he always finds him at that spring instead. this must be his home, given the decorated lightroot nearby that link hasn't had the heart to activate
link looks at his map one day, and sees that the secret spring of revival is directly below the shrine of resurrection. he thinks about that for a long, long time.

Prompt: Five Champions Chilling in a Hot Tub Very Close Together Because the Shrine of Resurrection Is Only So Big
Where the pilots of the Divine Beasts were ejected from the beasts as they fell to the Blights attacks and their people found them dying and for X reason had found out about the Shrine of Resurrection and took their Champion there only to discover all the others had the same idea. They decide to place all five in the shrine. It's barely enough to cover them but they make it work, and then all they got to do is wait...
Does it still "only" take 100 years or does it take longer?
What sort of clothing did they leave for the other champions? Do the other even get any clothes or is it only Link and Urbosa that get "new" clothes?
How will the remaining Champions handle the complete memory loss?
When/how do they regain their memories, if they do?
What about their powers? Will they have to reactive them somehow or is it rediscovered by muscle memory etc?
Do they get more than one paraglider?
If they only get one, how will they get down from the Great Platau? Will they try to climb? Will they craft their own? Send down Daruk and have him dig out the blocked part where water have collected? Something else?
How will the reunions with their people/family look like? Will there be people who are sceptic to believe they are who they say?
If any of the Age of Calamity plot is included:
Assuming Kogha and the Yiga have turned against Ganon like in AoC after having their own killed/severly wounded by the Calamity, what have the Yiga been up to the last 100 years?
Will Kogha have snuck in a dying Sooga into the shrine too after he got hurt by a Guardian/malice/etc?
How will an amnesiac Yiga handle recovering memories of trying to kill his companions? Is his first memory triggered by bananas or by meeting Yiga spies? Or is it something else? Maybe Link or Urbosa (the two he would've fought the most) handing him a fruit in a similar way to how Kogha did when he was starving in the dlc flashback?
How will Kogha handle Sooga not remembering him?
Do they still steal the Thunder Helm? If so, why? Is it to lure the group into their lair to see if they can jog Sooga's memory? Or are they worried Riju would try to go after Vah Nabooris herself and possibly get hurt?

Loved the previous answer, so have a follow up question: Papyrus and/or Sans in Gotham
why is sans at hench bars. why is sans buddies with all the henches at the bars. why is sans
papyrus being there ends up going hysterically. he alarms the batfam at first but alfred finds himself reluctantly charmed by watching footage of him. papyrus also manages to win trust by confusing the joker, of all people, mid-crime. papyrus is just so fucking Bright and also joker gas doesn't work on him and his puns are clever, so while joker is confident he could kick that boney ass, he's just like This Guy Has Style(???) and distracts him enough for an arrest. he's the Cool Dude

Another way to find a title apart from looking at lyrics or a character's quote or idioms etc can be to simply look at "what kind of whump is this" and then simply name it "Broken Bones" — it can work as a place holder if nothing else. Using contrasting or opposite things can be effective too like "Beauty and the Beast" does. Sometimes it can be a whole sentence that summarizes the plot, eg "Elderly Lady with Evil Intentions"
More tips for titles! :)

Tumblr media
Answering these together because they're asking the same thing.
And yes, I have answered this before, you can find that here.
No idea how I missed putting it on my masterpost last time I updated it, but thank you for letting me know so I can add it on. Actually, with Sicktember I probably should update it just in general.

Random suggestions for a three sentence fic:
Behave. Spraybottle. Owl. Dizzy. Rescue. Farm. Bomb. Bombproof. Dance. Spell. Sign.
Take your pick and have fun :)
it'd been three days and Warriors was getting frantic.
"BEHAVE!"
Three days since one ill timed word had taken Wild away, replacing him with the perfect soldier and leaving Warriors gutted at the blank face and blanker eyes.

If you could change one (1) thing in the LoZ-franshise and it would become canon, what would you change?
Ooohhh I've seen some of these milling around!!
For me I would change this:
LET THEM HUG DANGIT☹️
Like, im a romantic at heart, so I always would prefer to think Zelink is cannon, but even if they explicitly were confirmed as just friends or even if they ended up being family - LET THEM HUG AT THE END😭🥺
I love hugging my friends and family!! I adore showing physical affection! I've hugged coworkers and held hands with members at work to comfort them when theyre upset (if they initiated. Im not that dense to be touching strangers without consent lol. Ill ask people if i dont know them well enough to know what theyre ok with).
All of this to say: I don't feel good and I want hugs, so thats my answer lol. (Though believable lore/timeline connecting the games would be fantastic haha))

You're gonna delete them? D: I wanted to hear more about when Legend fell into a Canyon!
(And also learn from me you might regret deleting them, may I suggest simply dropping them in an "abandoned" folder and either keep it on a cloud or zip the file etc? Sometimes I find old fics and see "hey I like this particular thing I can reuse it" or simply to see "damn I've improved a lot")
I am seriously considering it, yes. I’ve been caught deep in the throes of writer’s block, or something of the sort, and as a result each of these stories are not only unlikely to get finished, they’re also rooted in the bitterness and desperation of getting stuck time and time again. You will notice there are two documents about the canyon. That is because I tried once, I got stuck, and I tried again, and am stuck. Truly I believe these stories may never come to life unless I get out of this rut, and then when I do I may discover I never liked those ideas to begin with. Ah, I’m rambling—long story short, seeing all these stories that are a bit like symbols of my failure makes me a bit heartsick. That, and I am not a fan of clutter. You can still ask about them, that’s why I put them out there!!
For you, I’ll keep all these documents, even if they never become real stories. Now, onto the document of your curiosity: Legend falls into a Canyon.
This story was going to be set in Wild’s Hyrule, in the Hebra area. You know that huge canyon with the forgotten temple? Around there. A portal drops our chain into Wild’s Hyrule: Time, Warriors, Twilight, Sky, Wild, Hyrule, Four, and Wind are all deposited near the Tabantha Snowfield Stable (can’t remember if that’s its name but oh well). Legend, on the other hand, is dropped into this canyon—and none too gently. With some injuries to speak of, and pursued by monsters, Legend limps through the canyon for a way out—but alas, arrives cornered at a dead end, with his only choice being to turn and face the monsters chasing him.
Now, I abandoned “The One Where Legend Falls Into A Canyon” due to some inconsistencies that made me sick and picked it up in “Another Canyon Thing”:
As it turns out, Legend is not being pursued by just any monsters; rather by a group of five lizalfos, headed by Lizal-Dink himself. Legend fights them off successfully, but does sustain several injuries. His prospects are grim, and, unable to walk and out of potions, he sits down to rest and await his fate.
The rest of the chain has been searching for Legend, and as they arrive at one side of the canyon, they spot Dink crawling up the wall and over the other side, running away. They’re unable to pursue him, obviously, but the less eager members direct everyone’s focus to the spatters of black blood Dink left behind—he’s injured, and there’s only one person aside from themselves with the ability to inflict such damage on the lizalfos. With that, they drop down into the canyon and follow the blood trail, correctly suspecting it will lead them back to Legend.
I didn’t have a plan for what would happen beyond this point. I wrote about them finding Legend, but no further. That being said, I think it’s only fair to offer a bit of what I have written as an apology. Without further ado, I present to you a paragraph of “Another Canyon Thing.”
There are two parts, the beginning and then the end of the middle, sort of.
The Beginning:
Dusk blankets the canyon softly when Legend wakes up, cold, in pain, and alone. He blinks, licking his dry lips and trying to gauge the extent of the damage to his body. All he finds is a cold pin-and-needles feeling. That will undoubtedly change when he moves, so he braces himself to sit up, and slowly adjusts his arms to push himself off the ground. Almost as soon as he does, searing pain spreads through his chest, banishing the pins and needles and causing to inhale sharply. He exhales a string of curses, forcing himself to breathe normally until the searing seeps into a steady throb, with sharp stabs every time he breathes in.
He very painstakingly sits the rest of the way up, discovering along the way the remainder of his injuries. Overall, he lists broken ribs, broken ankle, violently bruised shoulder, and he tacks on a concussion, judging from the position he woke up in, and the location of his wounds.
And here is the End of the Middle:
It hurts to breathe, as little as he can, he can’t feel his extremities and the warmth that’s making them numb is beginning to seep into the rest of his body. Otherwise, it’s cold, and his body is growing heavier with every second that passes. He grips his sword a little tighter. He knows what Twilight meant, now.
“This pain…This fire burning in my blood…I can feel it.”
“It’s killing me.”
It’s killing me.
I’m not afraid to die.

Btw maybe I or someone else have already mentioned it (I can't remember if I did oops), but in TotK (not coming with a spoiler here unless you haven't spotted a certain section in the PurahPad where all the side quests are), when you're about to unlock the "memories", you will find a clue about which order you should unlock them. I highly recommend you follow that order because otherwise you might do like me and accidentally spoil yourself
I already kind of found one memory, like, number 8, but I will try and find them in order if at all possible. I'm not seeing a way to determine which goes first yet, but I haven't spoken with Impa at all either, so that might just be my own fault LOL
Thanks for the tip!

I liked your HC that Time got a scar from the fallen to where he died! I think I'm gonna include it with my HC which is that Veran from the Oracle of Ages went back in time to kill the previous Hero who she believed to be the ancestor of Link (and Raven), and thereby creating the Fallen Timeline in which Link and herself exists, in a true LoZ paradox fashion
Aw thanks! It was inspired somewhat by one of @adrift-in-thyme’s febuwhump fics: I don’t recall which day it was, but the premise is basically the Links go to Legend’s Hyrule Castle, and Time starts remembering the battle he died in (super angsty, I highly recommend).
Also that’s a cool HC! I like how it has a cause aside from oot Link just failing(?). The timeline is such a mess, it fits right in! Especially with the paradox and everything, very loz-esque XD

Ahhhh I don’t know! 😩😂 A timeline that makes sense? Probably that. Consistency would be nice, or just chuck it all and be like “they’re all parallel iterations from different worlds/timelines.” This in between “oh yeah it’s all the same timeline but it makes little sense” is… sigh.
Either that or loftwings should have never gone extinct. 👍🏻

Prompt: You're no Demon Lord of Mine!
Or: This town ain't big enough for the both of us (and it ain't me who's gonna leave)
A Zelda – Skyward Sword prompt.
Ghirahim finds a way up to Skyloft only to discover that there's another Demon there. Batreaux meanwhile do not appreciate the appearance of a different demon. Not only is this upstart calling itself a lord, it's aiming to harm his humans and that is unacceptable. So he decides to go all out and teach this pale brat an unpleasant lesson.
Basically, it's Ghirahim vs. Batreaux.
Is Batreaux older or younger than Ghirahim?
Does Batreaux have any special powers?
Have they met before?
What does Ghirahim think about the situation?
Is Link around? What about other skyloftians?
If yes, will any of them try to help?
Ngl in my mind when I wrote this prompt I imagined that Batreaux was around when Demise was rising and that he was strong enough to break off from Demise's control, and settled down underground near Hylia's temple, only to accidentally be sent to the sky too with her people (and that while he might have appeared scared when Link attacked him when they first met, it was mix of being startled, and because he didn't want to have to hurt a human in self-defense. And maybe a little bit was because Link was holding a holy blade and those hurt a bit more). But just because that's what I imagine atm doesn't mean you must do that! Go for what you feel makes most sense/is funniest/more interesting etc. :)

For the HC ask game:
The Riddler in Undertale?
omg.
...honestly, while i want to think of cute shit, my biggest thought is that he'd end up killing a lot of monsters. he does have a temper and getting slapped with magic bullets would cause some lashing-out, and he'd get plenty of LV and just keep doing it.
not against everyone, though. i think papyrus would be fine. riddler would be rude as hell but probably just argue and be annoyed but not attack with genuine malicious intent.
