raphael refusing to go easy on a child in a game of chess is unbelievably so fucking funny. this man is such a funny ass douche.
astarion and raphael existing as the biggest bitchy queens in one piece of media is iconic and resemblant of the wonderful writing going into BG3; most media i've seen tends to make tropes exclusive to one character; you won't find someone with the same bitchy queen comedy relief energy as Roger Smith in American Dad, or the cat Salem from Sabrina, or the Robot Devil from Futurama. but in baldurs gate 3 they made that trope twice and they're primarily separated by their redeemability; both Raphael and Astarion are self-absorbed male failwives who love gossip, but only one of them would force someone to be their clone-sex-slave so he could fuck himself silly every night.
