A3! Furuichi Sakyo - Translation [N] MY WORST WEDDING
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Sakyo: (Alright, I guess I’ll start headin’ over to the next site.) (Sakoda… ah, it looks like he’s talkin’ with the other guys.)
Tumblr media
Ginsenkai member A: Are you pullin’ my leg!?
Ginsenkai member B: You’re goin’ on a date!?
Ginsenkai member C: Oi, who’s the lucky lady? Where’d you two meet?
Ginsenkai member A: Damn it! I’m jealous as hell!
Sakyo: Good grief… what are they making a fuss about?
Sakoda: Ah. Aniki, listen here! Apparently, this guy’s goin’ on a date with a girl!
Tumblr media
Sakyo: I know. I could hear everything.
Sakoda: *Sigh*. I’m green with envy… Ah, but I have aniki, so…!
Ginsenkai member B: So, where’re you going?
Ginsenkai member C: No matter what, don’t bring ‘em to an old pub ‘round here, got that!
Ginsenkai member A: Wouldn’t some place like a French restaurant be a big hit?
Ginsenkai member D: That’s so outta character for me!
Sakyo: …
-pause-
Sakyo: (The budget this time is…)
Banri: Sup, Sakyo-san. Are you doin’ accounting work right now? Woah, your calculator skills are pro as usual.
Tumblr media
Sakyo: I’m used to it, after all.
Banri: Oh yeah. Have you come up with a date plan? We’re supposed to come up with one for our role study by next week’s rehearsal. The deadline’s comin’ up, y’know?
Sakyo: No… not yet.
Banri: Seriously?
Sakyo: How about you?
Banri: I’ve got it in the bag. During the day, we’ll go shopping, catch a cup of coffee at a café, and head to a darts bar together… Then in the evenin’ we’ll ride a dinner cruise where we can enjoy the night lights. Sounds perfect, right?
Sakyo: I see.
Banri: Well, good luck, Sakyo-san.
*leaves*
Sakyo: …*Sigh*. (I know it’s for role study, so I should just get it over with.) (Wait, but…)
*imagination starts*
Izumi: Ehh! Sakyo-san, this date plan is never going to work! Even a 100-year love would freeze over!
Tumblr media
*imagination ends*
Sakyo: …What am I thinking? (I know there’s no way she’d say that. But…) …Tch. I gotta do what I gotta do.
-pause-
Banri: …And that’s my plan.
Tumblr media
Taichi: Woah~, that’s Ban-chan for you…!
Juza: Shit plan.
Banri: Say that again?
Azami: Next is shitty Sakyo.
Omi: Let’s hear it.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Alright Sakyo-san. Please go ahead.
Sakyo: …Got it.
-pause-
Sakyo: …And so, that’s all for the date plan I came up with.
Tumblr media
Taichi: Woah, the perpetually stingy Sakyo-nii… went for a high-class French restaurant…!
Sakyo: …Times like these are special.
Banri: You really went full-out, huh?
Sakyo: …
Banri: Got ‘em.
Taichi: With that, we’ve finished hearing everyone’s plans. Now then, Director-sensei. We’d like you to choose whose plan was the best!
Izumi: Well… let’s see…
Autumn troupe: …
Tumblr media
Izumi: All the plans were great… I don’t think I can choose.
Taichi: HUH!?
Banri: For real?
Taichi: Are you sure, Director-sensei?
Izumi: Come on. I can’t choose between the plans that all of you poured your hearts and souls into preparing…
Omi: Director…
Juza: …
Izumi: But, also! When it comes to a date, curry is a must!
Juza: …
Omi: That was a blind spot.
Banri: I totally forgot about that.
Azami: So did I.
Sakyo: Geez.
Tumblr media
Taichi: It’s a tie between all of us this time~!

Furuichi Sakyo
Falls First: You
Falls Harder: Sakyo
He definitely thinks you’re a little crazy. What’s so appealing about a worn out, money grubbing yakuza like him? Surely it’s not the late night B movie marathons, and certainly not the way he shed tears at the slightest sentimental moments that let you know he cherishes making memories deeply. He held himself at such a distance for so long that his descent was inevitable, it was hard to be a tough guy when one person always managed to wrangle out your hidden affectionate side. But being brave enough to even search for it earned you brownie points, so Sakyo almost felt like he had no choice but to give in lest he create more trouble for himself.
Hyodo Juza
Falls First: You
Falls Harder: Juza
No ones seen him the way you have. Even when he stumbled, or messed up a line, or proved he’s hopelessly awkward when it comes to expressing his feelings, you had never laughed at him. He doesn’t feel deserving of your friendship or admiration let alone your love, not when you had done so much to defend him and more while he simply existed in your world with no clue on how to show you how he felt. He had never understood any of Muku’s romance manga but he was slowly starting to understand what it meant to want to protect someone’s smile.
Sakisaka Muku
Falls First: Muku
Falls Harder: Muku
When a true romantic falls in love an angel gets their wings, as well as there being an extra layer of dedication added into the mix. He’s so specific with courting you right, making handmade crafts or homemade food as presents, wanting to give you everything he could possibly get his hands on. He wanted you to see the best parts of him not realizing that life was not a fairy tale; to truly love a person, you needed to know their flaws as well. Knowing you wanted to love him to the fullest extent possible made his heart stop in his chest, even while he still had plenty of growing to do. He hoped that was an adventure you could make together.
Settsu Banri
Falls First: You
Falls Harder: Banri
Hardly one to fall for a traditional romance, Banri was stubborn as a mule when it came to giving his heart away. For all the flirting he did with you there was still a carefully crafted gap, a purposeful distance, a man who was shockingly considerate of what a relationship with him might do to a person. He had never felt loyalty so strongly like he did to you, the complicated dance you partook in all the more invigorating for him. Finding someone who could match his rhythm, meet him step for step without faltering, was a partner that Banri couldn’t simply ignore.
Takato Tasuku
Falls First: You
Falls Harder: You
You are bold to take on the challenge that is Takato Tasuku. Even more single-minded than Tsumugi, you might have to take more drastic measures to draw his attention. It’s almost like he’s unwilling to see what’s right in front of him, but he wasn’t a fool. He’s not afraid of change either but he doesn’t want to partake in a relationship with impossible standards. He can be thoughtful and display his honest feelings, but you had to understand that he’s human above all else. He’s not the charming prince persona he was forced to play countless times in his Godza days; he didn’t always know what to say, and sometimes he might be too blunt, but it didn’t make the love he felt for you any less real.

[SR] Sakyo | Courier Rabbit
Tumblr media
Those brats... I’ve told them to do it seriously, but this is some crazy instruction. I’ll give them a lecture after this.
__________________________
All-out Easter Etude! - Part 1
__________________________
*Director's default name as Izumi
―Entrance (Night)―
Izumi: I’m home~.
Sakyo: Oh, you just came home too, huh.
Izumi: Yeah! Good work for today, Sakyo-san.
―(Lounge)―
Sakyo: We’re back.
Kazunari: Welcome home~.
Izumi: What’re you all doing here?
Sakuya: We’re doing preparations for Easter event!
Sakyo: Oh, the one that Miyoshi proposed?
Kazunari: Yeah, that one! It’s kinda tiring to prep for it tho, cuz there’ll be tons of different games~.
Izumi: Are you guys making easter eggs?
Azami: Kinda, but not really. The egg inside has a piece of paper with instruction written on it.
Izumi: Instruction?
Kazunari: I call this game, “Simon Says Easter Eggs Hunt”!
Sakyo: What kind of game is that?
Sakuya: It’s like a scavenger hunt. The contestants must pick up an egg and follow the instruction written on the paper inside.
Taichi: Sakyo-nii will be the rep of Autumn Troupe for this contest!
Sakyo: What? Since when did you decide on that?
Azami: You weren’t there for the event selection ‘cause you had some errands to do. You even said it yourself, “Go ahead and decide for me”.
Sakyo: Oh, that time... It’s my bad for not listening but you should’ve told me if you’ve decided already.
Taichi: Sorry, Sakyo-nii!
Izumi: It doesn’t seem like there’s that much progress though...
Sakuya: Actually, we all had trouble coming up with challenges to write on the paper.
Kazunari: We need some decent amount of them~.
Azami: And it won’t be good to have many identical ones too.
Sakyo: Perhaps it’d be better to go for a different direction that’s not too biased and easy to think about.
Izumi: Oh, how about writing a theme for an etude? It might be a bit different from an instruction though.
Sakuya: That’s a good idea!
Taichi: It’s fitting for us actors!
Azami: Etude themes... Anyone got any idea?
Kazunari: Here, here! I just thought of one!
“A person who frantically waves his hand for a taxi in a heavy rain at midnight, but the taxi is actually a police car”!
Sakyo: What the hell...
Sakuya: That’s very sad...!
Azami: How surreal.
Taichi: But thanks to Kazu-kun, we’ve got some idea of the direction! We just gotta think of themes like that!
Kazunari: Alrighty~, I’m gonna come up with lots of ideas~!
Sakyo: You better not just think of weird stuff.
__________________________
All-out Easter Etude! - Part 2
__________________________
Taichi: What about this one!
“A rabbit who is wary of the surroundings to monopolize its favourite carrot”!
Izumi: Nice, you included an Easter element!
Sakuya: Mine is... “An Easter egg who is sad for not getting any paint”. How is it?
Kazunari: Super interesting, Saku-saku!
Oh! I got one more idea... “A frog who wants to be reborn as a boba”!
Azami: Are we having a surreal story fest now?
Sakyo: ...Cut that out, you brats. Take this more seriously, will you!
Taichi: Eek! I’m sorry~!
Sakuya: We didn’t mean to play around...!
Kazunari: I guess it’d be a problem if we put any strange themes in this game since Frooch-san’s gonna be in it~.
Sakyo: That’s not what I meant. If it’s etude, we’ll do it seriously. I’m just telling you to think more properly.
Azami: Properly, you say... In that case, an interesting theme that we don’t usually see might be better.
Sakyo: Hey, what’re you up to now?
Azami: Nothing.
Izumi: Now, now. You don’t have to be that angry.
🌸CHOICE 1: Make the event more exciting
They just wanna make the event more exciting, that’s all.
Sakyo: I know that.
But what if the game stops because the contestants have difficulty with a theme like the one just now?
They’d be sluggish and everything will be a mess from that point onwards.
Izumi: Sakyo-san...! I thought you weren’t that interested in the Easter event but you’re very serious about it!
Sakyo: What? Well, I gotta do it properly since I’m going to participate in it.
Izumi: Fufu, I’m kinda happy to know that you’re also enthusiastic about this.
Sakyo: Hmph, I’m not so keen on it though.
🌸CHOICE 2: Sounds interesting, count me in!
Izumi: It sounds interesting, so I’ll try coming up with a theme too. Let’s see...
How about, “A person who’s happy after they open an Easter egg and find a curry rice in it”?
Sakyo: You’re the only person who’d be that happy about it.
Izumi: EHH?! I don’t think that’s true though...
Sakyo: Heh, yours are probably the most surreal out of all.
―The day of Easter eventー
Manager: The next game is “Simon Says Easter Egg Hunt”! Which is also an “Etude Game”!
Masumi: I’ll show her my good part.
Tenma: I’m gonna win this.
Homare: I’m very looking forward to seeing what kind of etude themes will pop out!
Manager: We’ve got quite a unique group of members here!
Sakyo: Guess it’s time for me to play now.
Omi: Do your best, Sakyo-san.
Juza: We’re rooting for you.
Taichi: Go, go, Sakyo-nii~!
Manager: Well then! On your marks, get set... Go!
Sakyo: Guess I’ll go with the egg that’s closest first. Let’s see what’s inside-.
......
Manager: Oh? Looks like Furuichi-san is frozen in place after seeing his paper. Sir, please read out loud your theme~!
Sakyo: ...“Sakoda Ken, who’s eating a fried shrimp set meal”.
Taichi: Whaaat! He’s gonna act as Sakoda-san?!
Banri: Pfft, the heck? That’s more of an imitation rather than an etude.
Juza: Who put that theme in...?
Azami: I wrote it thinking it’d be funny if Shitty Sakyo pulled it, but I didn’t expect for him to actually get it. I should film this.
Sakyo: ...So that’s what this is.
Manager: Quite a difficult theme there! What will you do, Furuichi-san?!
Sakyo: I’m an actor, so I’ll give my all to act it out.
Azami: Wow~.
Sakyo: You better watch me closely, you brats...
―After the etudeー
Banri: Oh, man~. If there’s MVP for this game, it’d be Sakyo-san for sure.
Azami: Yeah, that acting of his was the best. Bet Ken-san would cry if he saw it himself.
Right, I should send him the video that I took.
Sakyo: Stop it, don’t let the guys from Ginsenkai see that.
Azami: I’m the one who took the video, so it’s up to me how I want to use it. Anyways, gotta send it to Ken-san first.
Sakyo: Dammit...
Izumi: Great work, Sakyo-san! You were really impressive as an actor!
You were just like Sakoda-san!
Sakyo: ......
Izumi: Um, Sakyo-san? What’s wrong?
Banri: I’m sure that was meant to be compliment but that ain’t it for him, Director-chan.
Izumi: Huh?
Sakyo: ...Not happy at all.
Story Clear!

Wooo long time no A3! post! Saw this in my drafts while listening to a sappy playlist and decided to finish it. Based on the prompt: “I have been in love with you for years.”
This is just tooth rotting fluff and I’m actually super happy with how it came out asdfghjlajalkl I had to take a break while writing bc I could feel myself fangirling.
Anyway, here’s a short Izumi x Sakyo scenario!
- - -
It’s a late night for Izumi and Sakyo as they sit at the dining table, working hard at balancing the logistics of the troupe.
Without warning, Izumi all but flumps her upper body on top of the table.
“Oi!” Sakyo yelps, indignant. “Don’t mess up the files with your nonsense.”
Izumi languidly adjusts her position to shift a deadpan stare at her (business) partner.
“Tired.” she grouses.
Sakyo merely sighs and leaves Izumi to wallow in her own world, resuming his work.
Minutes tick by, and just like clockwork, Izumi’s soft snores start filling in the silence of the night. Simultaneously, Sakyo starts losing his focus, eyes unconsciously drifting over to the object of his affections.
Perhaps its just him being lulled in by the quiet comfort of the early morning hours, but Sakyo feels himself more drawn to his childhood friend than usual, and slowly reaches his hand out to brush Izumi’s hair out of her face.
‘Soft…’ Sakyo’s mind so helpfully supplies him, as he carefully threads his fingers through her brown locks.
As if responding to Sakyo’s gentle actions, Izumi leans further into his touch as well as she can while still fast asleep on the table.
Sakyo suddenly feels his heart seize with a great affection and closes his eyes, taking deep breaths. He inwardly allows himself a moment of weakness - a moment of vulnerability - and lets the warmth spread throughout his body.
He is all too familiar with this feeling - this mind-blowing endearment that takes over him every so often whenever he finds himself a little too introspective.
Sakyo is snapped out of his musings when Izumi suddenly opens her eyes, her gaze fixed on his, still with some traces of sleepiness present but alert nonetheless. Sakyo is helplessly pinned by her gaze as he continues to carefully comb through her hair with his fingers.
A sleepy smile takes over Izumi’s face. “That feels nice.”
Sakyo makes a noncommittal hum in response, but doesn’t stop.
Izumi’s eyes scan his face, and Sakyo can’t find it in himself to look away. They continue like this for awhile in the silence, both of them carried away by the ambience they’ve found themselves in.
“You know, Sakyo,” Izumi elects to break the quiet, using a low voice as if being careful not to scare him off. “Treat a girl like this, and she might start to get the wrong idea.”
Sakyo’s hand stills, but he doesn’t pull away. “…What kinds of ideas?”
Izumi lightly places her hand over his hand that is still entangled in her hair. “Things that aren’t always said out loud, but things you can hear in the silence,” she bites her lip before whispering, “Ideas about… love.”
Sakyo’s heart skips a beat and he feels his face warm, probably mirroring Izumi’s own reddening face. Carefully - almost reverently - he takes her hand and entwines it in his. Sakyo slowly brings Izumi’s hand to his lips, and presses a soft kiss against it.
“And what if I told you,” Sakyo mumbles, his lips still pressed to Izumi’s hand, “That I have been in love with you for years.”
Izumi’s eyes widen, then crinkle as she beams at him, pure unadulterated affection reflected in her eyes that Sakyo has no doubt is reflecting back at her just the same in his.

Azuma: Why did I make a hitlist last night containing only McDonald's?
Sakyo: You tried to order a margarita McFlurry and when they said they didn't make those, you tried to call 911.

Just for fun, I wanna over-analyze Sakyo and Kazunari both having black hair and glasses. [Mostly their glasses ^^;]
Like, I'm 99.99% sure that the writers didn't intend it this way, but the way they both were really normal people who felt the need to change themselves either for survival or a social life [which is its own sort of survival] and bleached their hair as a symbol of that change.
But also, if I wanted to go real conspiratorial, only one of them has kept their glasses, despite both being nearsighted and this could tie into how they see themselves.
Sakyo is a lot more introspective, he can see and understand himself well, even if he doesn't express it. That introspection can backfire though, like how glasses for nearsightedness can cause objects close by to become fuzzy and out of focus. Sakyo focuses inside too hard and ends up thinking he's too old to follow his passions, his flaws are insurmountable, and his dreams are just that until he gets pulled outside himself by Mankai.
Kazunari, on the other hand, cannot see himself clearly at all. Like Sakyo, he's insecure, but he's more likely to spiral with those insecurities. All his personality is based around context clues, the fuzzy image of who he wants to be and what the people around him want him to be, with the former drawing heavily on the latter.
At the same time, Kazunari, without his glasses, is really perceptive to the world around him and pretty clearly can read other people and their emotions [except regarding himself]. He's also more expressive, the window to his soul is more clearly visible. Sakyo sees the world through the filter of his glasses. A lot of his insecurities come from a [understandably] jaded view of the world and an inability to understand what others feel about him and how he fits into that outside world. He hides a lot more of his feelings and emotions behind that same filter, blocking others off.
Kazunari suffers from understanding the emotions without a clear understanding of the cause which he then attributes to himself [see: the way he knows how Summer might react to his decision about Misumi parkouring into his entrance] while Sakyo can understand those connections but doesn't necessarily pick up on all the emotions as intuitively [see: Sakyo understanding what motivates Azami, but only after recognizing that Azami is hurt, not just angry].
Tumblr media
Did I just write multiple hundreds of words of utter nonsense? Yeah, I'm a fanfic writer, what do you expect?
But in all honesty, this was just for fun, so don't take it too seriously and I apologize for any character inaccuracies!
Thank you for reading!

A3! Magazine Interview Translation - B’s-LOG March 2023 [Special Interview]
Tumblr media
The Cute Side of Adult Men ♥
Bringing you an interview with Itaru and Sakyo! We’re taking a closer look at their mature and cute charms.
*Please read disclaimer on blog
---
Q: Please tell us about your impressions of the cover photoshoot!
Itaru: They put a lot of effort into our hair and makeup, didn’t they? They made lots of curls with a flat iron, so I wondered how it was going to turn out. The end result was nicely balanced though. I was impressed. Also, I’m rather used to wearing pink for my stage costumes, but seeing Sakyo-san in that colour felt pretty fresh.
Sakyo: I felt uneasy when I saw myself in the mirror, but I went along with it since I know we should leave these things to the professionals. However… I was surprised that they ended up using that shot where I’m holding my glasses in my hand. We took a lot of photos where I had my glasses on too.
Q: What makes you think you’re glad you became an adult?
Itaru: The fact that I can spend my time and money on anything and no one can question me about it. It left a pretty big impression on me when first I left home to live on my own and everything, including my life rhythm, was up to me. However, everything was also my own responsibility and I had to work in order to live…
Sakyo: This guy is living with all of us at the dorm, so I’d like to correct his life rhythm… but it’s like talking to a wall, so I’m at a loss. For me, I’d rather be able to work than anything else. We receive money as compensation for the work that we put in according to our duties. I’m thankful for society.
Q: Has your impression of the other person changed from when you first joined the theatre troupe until now?
Itaru: At first, he seemed like a ruthless, OP demon king final boss. But he was an unexpectedly compassionate person… I mean, I’m not sure if I should say this in front of the guy himself, but my image of him changed dramatically. I won’t go into the details, but he left a strong first impression.
Sakyo: Let’s stop there. From my point of view, Chigasaki… indeed, my impression might have changed as well. He looks like an actor who can pull everything off flawlessly, but he has a surprisingly clumsy passion. We haven’t formally co-starred yet apart from the MANKAI Show where all the members participated. But I would like to try acting alongside this guy properly one day.

Reconnection [Furuichi Sakyo]
Voted on here!
The past truly had a way of haunting Sakyo.
He wouldn’t call it breaking up as you had never officially been an item, but his mother hadn’t agreed with that at all. You had been near inseparable when he had time off, as she put it, and he had softened his hard edges around you. She could see a change in him that only a mother who wanted the best for her son could see, yet all he was worried about was dragging you down with him. There was that side of him that, no matter how much his mother supported him, made him feel like he could never provide the type of life you needed.
Sakyo wasn’t a fool. He knew that you had loved him, and he knew that you knew he loved you back. But there’s an odd song and dance that two adults who aren’t quite on the same wavelength do. Mindlessly spending time together was fine as children but as adult it ended with purpose, with marriage, and to think of you being stuck with him for an eternity… He was selfish, he supposed, in pulling away from you without much explanation but he didn’t think one was needed. You knew him better than anyone, knew why he acted the way he did and why he made the choices he did, and you had even boldly defended him from his mother.
She had seen through you both, though.
He had agreed to go to the wedding because his mother hardly had the chance to get out of the house these days, and she seemed excited to pick out a new dress. There was something conspiratorial about her attitude but he assumed it might have to do with flirting with other men, and that was not a topic he was about to breach with her. He’d take her, make sure she was safe, and then when she was ready to leave he would escort her home. Conveniently enough it was on one of his free weekends so all he had to do was get his suit cleaned and he was ready for a wedding.
With his mother on his arm he found himself seated at a table, keeping to himself and engaging in polite conversation only when he was approached. His mother was a little friendlier as these were people and families she knew well, smiling, laughing, joking, it made him happy to see her so relaxed. He had quick flashes to the past where they had struggled but he quickly brushed them aside, knowing he had to continue looking forward.
He didn’t think anything of the action at first but he swore he saw his mother switch some papers around when she had stood up to greet yet another old friend, but he had brushed it off as simply being a napkin. Sakyo’s head had been turned as he listened to a group nearby talking about theatre but a familiar scent hit him head-on, his head turning back to his table where his mother was enthusiastically greeting…
You.
It had been years this point since he had last seen you but your beauty hadn’t dimmed a bit, there was still this soft glow about you that made you the center of his attention. You wore an easy smile as you brought his mother into a hug, asking a few simple questions here and there about what she had been up to. You were as painfully aware of him as he was of you and yet you both said nothing to acknowledge each other, not until his mother pointed him out very clearly.
“Surely you remember my son.”
“Hard to forget,” You smiled at her, then him briefly, before your eyes settled on the table. “It’s nice to see you again, Sakyo. I heard everything is going well with your theatre company?”
“…Yes, we’ve actually managed to turn a profit.”  You have to fight back the giggle, politely covering your mouth to hide your too wide smile.
“Still focused on money, I see. How about having fun? Are you enjoying being on stage?”
The way you had poised the conversation at first made it seem like you knew nothing of Mankai, that his last few years were a mystery to you, but if you knew he was actually part of a troupe… His eyes met yours and you found yourself weak in the knees, swallowing nervously and glancing down at the table again.
“Your name is at our table, dear, so please sit, join us. I’ll get us drinks.”
“I can get them—”
“No, you won’t.” His mother fixed him with a firm look that told him to sit back in that seat or so help her—
“U-uh, thank you very much. So, Sakyo…” His mother left as Sakyo sat himself back down across from you, trying to keep his cool gaze on you. “You didn’t answer my question.”
“You’ve come to see us.” More of a statement then a question but you figured the jig was up, nodding your head. “I—Which play did you enjoy the most?”
“I liked Ginji the Wanderer,” You leaned forward, clearly recalling the time you had seen it, “I remembered you talking about acting once in awhile but whenever I tried to press you’d just change the subject. I’m glad you’re finally doing something you’re passionate about.”
“I’ve always been…” Sakyo doesn’t know why he was going to lie to you, there was no point to it. You could see through him now just as easily as you could then, the dangerous thought coming to mind that it was like nothing had really changed between you. But things had changed, and there was a distance between you, one that he had himself. “Never mind.”
“Ooh, and you’re less willing to argue? It seems that things have changed with you~” You teased, laughing in a way that made his heart clench. How long had it been since he’d heard that melodic sound? So often when he tried to call back to it, it was quickly replaced with the sound of you sniffling and holding back tears on the other end of a phone line.
What had he just told himself earlier? To stop looking at the past, and to look toward his future?
Sakyo’s eyes met yours again.
“I can get you tickets to our next play, if you want.”
“Free?” He twitched at the word, but…
“Yes.”
“Well how can I deny something free from Mr. Frugal himself! I look forward to it. I hope I get some real VIP treatment~”
Sakyo scoffed, but you could see the slight upward tilt at the corner of his lips, “Don’t press your luck.”

Long-legged Mr. Sakyo! - Part 1
__________________________
*Director's default name as Izumi
―Lounge (Night)―
Sakyo: I’m home.
Itaru: Welcome home, Sakyo-san.
Citron: You came back at such a good timing!
Sakyo: Hm? Are you all going to have a drinking party?
Azuma: I invited everyone here to drink since I got a hold of a good ‘sake’, you see. Care to join us?
Sakyo: Sure, let me have some too.
Izumi: I’ll go and get a glass for you then.
Tsumugi: Ah, let me do it instead.
Sakyo: Sorry for the trouble.
Kazunari: Otsupiko~. Oh, a drinking party?
Citron: That’s right! Wanna join?
Kazunari: Hngg, I’m gonna pass on drinking~. But I still wanna join in!
Sakyo: Oh, you’re not gonna drink?
Kazunari: You know what happens when I get drunk, right~?
Azuma: Fufu, I think drunk Kazu-kun is cute though.
Kazunari: You always say that, but I feel super embarrassed~. Sorry, but that’s why I’m not gonna drink this time!
Itaru: Right, I actually bought an interesting card game the other day.
Tsumugi: Interesting card game?
Izumi: What is it?
Itaru: Here.
Sakyo: Animals... Even so, those are strange-looking creatures.
Azuma: I’m guessing they’re some kind of characters?
Kazunari: Ah! This looks like the one that’s been going viral in social media recently!
Citron: I’ve also seen it in videos too!
Itaru: This game wouldn’t work without a certain number of players, so I thought now is a good time to play it.
Sakyo: Even if that’s the case, doesn’t mean we have to play it with this group.
Itaru: Isn’t it nice to do something like this once in a while? Don’t gripe and let's try it.
Kazunari: Maybe I should take a vid of you guys playing since I’m not drinking~.
Sakyo: Don’t film us.
Kazunari: Now, now, it might be useful for something, you know!
Sakyo: How can a video of good adults being drunk and playing a card game be helpful?
Itaru: Alright, I’ll explain the rules now.

Long-legged Mr. Sakyo! - Part 2
__________________________
Itaru: The rules are very simple.
Remove one card from the deck. If the character on the card is your first time seeing, give it a suitable name and memorise it.
Sakyo: Do we name these strange creatures ourselves?
Itaru: Yes, whatever name’s OK.
Azuma: What do we do with the removed card?
Itaru: Place it beside the deck and stack.
Next, take turns to remove cards. When a named character appears, one should say the name of the character, no matter who the player is.
The first person who can say the name correctly gets the stack of cards that have been stacked up to that point.
Tsumugi: So it’s first come, first served.
Itaru: Yup, that’s how it is.
The winner of the game will be the player who collects the most cards when the deck runs out at the end.
Azuma: I see.
Izumi: The rules really are simple.
Itaru: It’s a game that anyone can play as long as they have imagination and memory. (1)
Citron: It will be more interesting if we have some kind of limitation rather than just naming the characters randomly!
Itaru: Yeah, I guess we could.
Kazunari: How about we use everyone in the company as our inspiration for the names?
Citron: Oh! That sounds really fun!
Azuma: Fufu, I think that’s good.
Itaru: Ok, so how the characters are named will be based on the members of the company.
We’ll start by going clockwise, starting from me. Everyone okay with that?
Citron: ‘No oblation’ here! (2)
Itaru: You mean ‘no objection’, yeah? Alright, I’ll pull one card now...
This is... “Long-legged Sakyo-san”.
Sakyo: Huh?
Izumi: Fufu... I can kinda see what you mean...
Sakyo: What did you just say?
Itaru: It’s just a game, don’t sweat the details. Let’s continue, alright?
Citron: My turn!
Oh, what a cute child! This one shall be... “Sakuya who Dances in the Cherry Blossoms”!
Tsumugi: Ahaha, it really does look like him, with the soft vibe around the character.
Sakyo: I don’t think I can remember that...
Kazunari: It’s your turn next, Frooch-san.
Sakyo: ......
Itaru: “Long-legged Sakyo-san”!
Tsumugi: That was fast, Itaru-kun.
Itaru: That’s a given since I’m the one who named it.
Sakyo: It’s frustrating that I didn’t get it...
Azuma: Seems like it’s my turn now.
“Long-legged Sakyo-kun”.
Sakyo: Urk-!
Kazunari: Haha, that character appears way too much!
Citron: 3 times in a row! It’s the curse of Sakyo! (3)
Sakyo: Don’t call other people a curse.
Damn it, I’ll get it this time...
Itaru: I’m glad he seems to be enjoying it somehow.
Izumi: Ahaha, I think so too.
―Next day―
Kumon: Woah, what’s that! It looks fun!
Kazunari: I thought that I wanna play it next time too!
Sakyo: ...Hm?
Kumon: Ahaha! That’s a lot of “Long-legged Sakyo-san”!
Kazunari: Right~?
Sakyo: ...Hey.
Kazunari: WAWA! You surprised me, Frooch-san!
Kumon: Ah, it’s the real “Long-legged Sakyo-san”!
Sakyo: What’re you saying... Anyway, delete that video this instant.
Kazunari: Eh~! I was thinking of uploading it to Inste tho!
Sakyo: There’s no way I can let the public see that sight of the drunk members.
Story Clear!
=====NOTES=====
[1] If you can already tell by the rules, the card game they’re referencing is “Nanja Monja”. Personal recommendation to watch playthrough is this funny video with a twist featuring 3 voice actors (one of them voices Tenma).
[2] ❌ 意味なし / imi nashi - No meaning ✅ 異議なし / igi nashi - No objection
[3] Citron uses a mahjong term 三連チャン (san renchan).
