CRINGETOBER Day 7 - Pinterest Art Base

I had to go with this classic for the FunLand trio. Plus I don't think I've ever actually drawn Ki and Liberty kissing before. I also had to fudge a little bit since Sorren is definitely Not Standing.

Ki, Liberty, and Sorren are the main characters of my old webcomic, FunLand. I haven't worked on it in ages, but one day I'd like to start it over from scratch. If you choose to read, just keep in mind most of it is 8 or 9 years old now!

Курортный городок Болета-Бэй славен своими пляжами и большим парком аттракционов Фанленд на берегу океана. Но достопримечательности привлекают не только отдыхающих, но и множество "троллей". Зачастую агрессивные и откровенно безумные, они пугают местных жителей, в Болета-Бэй все чаще пропадают люди, и о городе ходят самые неприятные слухи, не всегда далекие от истины. Припугнуть троллей решает банда подростков, у которых к ним свои счеты. В дело вмешивается полиция, но в Фанленде все не то, чем кажется. За яркими красками и ослепляющим светом таится нечто гораздо страшнее любой комнаты страха, и ночью парк аттракционов становится настоящим лабиринтом ужасов, откуда далеко не все выберутся живыми.

Наверное самая нудная и не интересная книга за последний год. После её прочтения я удалила все книги из серии "Мастера ужасов" из своего вишлиста.

Более странной и нелепой истории я ещё не читала.

Моя книга в мягком переплете, с мелким шрифтом и там 650 страниц, и читать её было ещё сложнее из-за того, что до 500-й страницы не происходило ровным счетом ничего интересного. Я думала я со скуки умру. К концу начался какой-то непонятный замес и хоть немного экшена, но толком ничего не объяснялось. А к самому финалу ещё и добавили какой-то фантастической трешанины про гигантского паука 🤷🏻 просто рука-лицо. Очень жаль потраченного времени, никому не рекомендую.

Shoutout to Danny Kirrane as Funland!

I thought he did a terrific job as Funland. When we first meet him, they seem like a normal trio talking about some kind of convention that they are planning. Funland is eating what looks like Chicken nuggets and chips along with a capri sun. As a viewer, I didn’t think anything of it . After pining stares at the waiter, along with the comments about the waiters age. The viewer then realises what kind of person he is. 

Along with what type of killer he is.

  However even as a horrific predator, 

Danny plays him with an everyday likeable normalcy which makes him appear like an average joe. His savvy questions about the Corinthian. The wonderous gasp when the Good Doctor shows him the waiters eyes. You can completely understand how people and his victims fall for his act.

  Jed is immediately drawn to Funland as they smile at each other from across the room at the convention. Danny does such a good job at playing the "Average joe- I’m just here along for the ride" That I constantly had to remind myself that Funlands smiles and little talk with Jed was far from innocent.

  When Jed gets in trouble and Funland "rushes to the rescue" he says “Come with me” with such earnest that I actually believed him lol.

  There are cracks in his facade, like when Funland is talking to his fellow killers. He gets annoyed when Corinthian gets his name wrong. The disappointment in his face when his realises that Jed is with the Corinthian. The despondent pout when the Corinthian calmly warns him off. Of course when he hunts Jed and Rose down, his true intentions are revealed, causing the Nightmare to stab Funland to protect the Vortex and her brother.

 The introduction of Funland didn't last long. But Mr Danny Kirrane did an amazing job, of playing this happy go lucky, unassuming predator that kids would have no trouble trusting immediately.

If I had a nickel for every time I'd seen a movie with just the absolutely most horrible and offensive take on mental health, but that happened to cast an actor in the "crazy person" role who brought such high effort portrayal and pathos to their character it very nearly undid whatever the writer/director was trying to shit out of their mouths; I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
