More for @silver-goggles-guild's "arcade games" prompt! When trying to animate the Peter-fied Mario sprites, I realized that the movement was backwards. And together with one pose looking shuffly that gave me the idea to recreate Peter's Moonwalk.
Ramblings:
Thought this was gonna be simple, that I'd just have to use the sprites backwards - it didn't look right though. I had 3 sprites, 1 of which was ambiguous, the other 2 clearly had a bit of a front view. But for the movement to make sense, there had to be a backview too. So I doubled the sprites and made 3 for left-leg movement and the others for the right leg: made the background shoe darker, added a line between the legs to show which one is where, and turned Peter's upper body a bit for one set.
For the students I redrew more Mario sprites. The book girl was very helpful by having her leg posture just like that one Mario pose.
Taking this stuff too seriously, I of course checked the making of to get the students' clothes colors right. Because in the movie it's all too reddish, but I wanted this gif to be colorful.
I'm a bit disappointed that for the scenery I only managed to get 2 things from the game in. The blast and the foreground pillar (which probably isn't even recognizable as such).
I left out a few foreground things, mostly to save time and keep the pic from getting cluttered.
The window (had to keep the fun curtain though) I left out though because I didn't want to obscure the view.
I didn't forget the right lighting on Peter, I left it out because obviously he needs to stand out.

Please enjoy my lone icon-shaped graphic for @silver-goggles-guild prompt #4 Pop Art of our beloved wearing the comics outfit in front of an admittedly a biiit overpowering pop arty background:
A tiny bit of rambling:
*content sigh* Another graphic, another quality job done of the hair. I had fun and I need everyone to know that.
Since this is the 2nd of a set (the first one [of Wanda] is a Livejournal/Dreamwidth icon, so I hadn't posted it here), I didn't dare make the background less prominent, as that the consistency of sets is serious business.
Good news, everyone! I finally get what the 200x200 icons are about (because I'm making a layout for a friend and thus read up on how stuff is displayed on mobile).

On the occasions of @can-of-pringles's latest X-Men OC fic and today's (at least where I live) first day of school (don't worry, it's not for lessons, just orientation and celebration) I made a drawing with their OC: Opa Erik continuing a German tradition by giving Rosie a candy cone (also contains toys and school supplies).
I want my drawings to have more of a comics look, so I tried out a new style. So this is my first drawing made entirely in Photoshop and mostly with the vector tool.
Because I started this only a week ago and wanted it to be finished today, it's a bit rushed, sorry. It's probably most obvious in the dot pattern I gave up on and just let fade out.
The basis for this drawing is again a family photo. And when, for color inspiration for Erik's shirt (because white is boring), I was looking at photos of my sister's first day of school, my dad happened to be wearing Magneto's color and I wondered why I hadn't thought of red right away, ha.
As this is set between '92 and 2000 and thus between the 2 Erik actors, I used Michael Fassbender's face and gave him Ian McKellen's nose, partially his eyebrows and the Magneto hairstyle from X2.

Have some pixel art! Although I don't know many Quicksilver comics pages, I do have a favorite and I partially recreated in the style of Super Mario Land 2 for @silver-goggles-guild prompt 21 "arcade games":
And so you don't have to strain your eyes:
Ramblings:
Yes, I know that this particular game isn't an arcade one, but it's still 8-bit.
This idea is several months old, so I can't remember exactly, but it either came to me when looking at the comics page and it reminded me of Mario having picked up a turtle shell or the other way around.
Peter I've pixel'd myself, everything else is put together from the game's original sprites and titles found on mariouniverse.com
The colors for Peter I picked myself, the others I picked somewhere out of a video of the DX version of the game.
Was too lazy to put the text together from an image of the original font, so I used an actual font that looks similar.
At first I tried to arrange the tiles along the 16x16 raster, but you can't make a decent Cappadocian landscape with that!
Allegedly Love Valley isn't named so due to its big stone boners. Uh huh, yeah.
Super Maximoff Bro gets his own tag, because I have more ideas for him. But I probably won't manage to get all of those things done before the end of the prompt month.

For @silver-goggles-guild’s prompt
“Finish (and post) a WIP”
Had another idea for an icon-shaped Super Maximoff Bro runner, one that feels so obvious that I can't believe I didn't think of it right away. This one's too annoying (which is kind of in character, so I think making this was warranted) to be posted out in the open.
Again the trailless one is backgroundless, while the one with the trail is on white.

I thought the Halloween picture turned into a really nice portrait and it would be a waste for it to exist just as a joke, so I turned it into a proper family portrait:
@can-of-pringles, I hope this time you know how to feel about it.
