i keep going back to when nandor promised to take guillermo to his homeland and turn him there, and what that looks like with the new context that nandor knew guillermo wasn’t ready. he gave his word, and he was devastated when guillermo didn’t show, but i wonder if he assumed they’d travel together and in that time guillermo would have the opportunity to think about all the things he’d be leaving behind, the real implications of vampirism, and would ultimately turn down the offer? that they’d return home together either way, and they’d have still shared that time? he knew, he’s always known, that guillermo isn’t at that point yet - might never be - but he wanted to make that deeply personal journey with guillermo regardless. i think he wanted the company more than anything else. he wanted guillermo. that’s it.
