The universe really saw all my debilitating health issues take a turn for the worse over the last few weeks and said WAIT— just for funsies let’s see what happens if we give her covid too.
If you have any good vibes to spare I could use some right now
So, this is not really anything of anything, but when I was in line for one of the shows last night, I got to talking with the people next to me about music things, jazz, etc., and I mentioned this place called The Falcon - a truly, truly magical place in Marlboro, NY that started out as this sort of, in-the-know but open to all events space that was literally right behind Tony Falco's (to me at the time, just some dude's) house. When I was farming in a neighboring town, going to Tony's place meant you brought a fresh salad from farm produce for a potluck dinner, maybe $15 if you had it (which I often didn't), and you sat down to phenomenal world class jazz. This was a key component to my very, very small social scene. I only knew about it because CSA members of the farm told me. When they moved to what is now THE FALCON proper, I went while I still lived in the county, but it was just a little too far once I crossed the river. Even in the swanky, gorgeous "new" space, concerts were always by voluntary donation.
Fueled by those memories, I looked up the Falcon again just now....Tony Falco died in 2021 from covid complications...The Falcon goes on. I think I'm crying.
Interesting news: Cinemark's doing another CR-related theater screening, this time for the first three episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina S2.
Here's the rub:
A: if it screens at 7 PM on the 19th and Amazon is still doing their "we drop new episodes at midnight UTC" routine, which is what they did for S1, the "January 20" debut on Prime actually happens at 4 PM Pacific on the 19th. Three hours earlier.
B: if it screens at 7 PM on a Thursday, that's opposite Critical Role.
