Something I really wish cis people understood...

Something I really wish, cis people understood, is that most trans people, who did not get to transition in their childhood with puberty blockers in their youth (and even those at times) have experienced the kind of sexism their assigned gender is related with.

That means, that trans guys will have lived through all kinds of misogyny. A lot of "you cannot do that, because you are a girl" and a lot of sexual herassment and the like.

A lot of trans women will have gotten the entire "boys don't cry" treatment and all the behaviors pushed onto them, that we push onto young boys. Including a lot of harassment for not fitting the stereotype. (Boys, who do not perform masculinity right, get often treated harsher than girls, who do not perform femininity right.)

These things will stick. They will leave scars on us. And they will influence how we see the world.

The usual kinds of sexisms girls and women are subjected to, still very much trigger me, because I was subjected to them for more than 30 years - and am at times still subjected to, because I do not have male passing.

It is also a reason why I, a trans guy, will still identify more with female characters, than with a lot of male characters. Because their lived experience is still closer to mine, than that of a cis male character is. Not to mention that a lot of media depictions of guys do involve a performance of masculinity, that I do not ever wish to portray. This is true especially for older media (and with that I mean stuff more than like 5 years old, because this has only started to shift very recently), where the portrayel of masculinity was very macho-like.

And yes, this is very much inspired by cis women claiming I do not get to have an opinion on misogyny on the basis I am a trans dude. Ladies: I have to deal with misogyny on nearly every day. And I will have to for at least another year.

Yk when there’s a movie that’s so good and everytime you watch it, it only gets better? That’s how I feel about What Happened to Monday God, there are barely any fanfics on it and maybe 4 edits about it? It’s so good but nobody knows it, and sadly I know why.

The movie came out in 2017, it represents a society in the future where they’ve issued government control over how many children you have, you can only have 1 per family. Siblings are taken away and put in cyrosleep until the population drops. It shows 7 sisters, whose grandfather kept them a secret for 30 years, each of them going out a different day of the week.

Even with how good it is, the main character is Noomi Rapace, a very talented female actor. Knowing our world is taken over by males, it makes sense that She isn’t very well known. No matter how talented someone is, they’ll always be thrown aside if they aren’t a man. It’s so fucked up, but yk that’s how sexism works. They keep this hidden, it’s just another movie that is barely even watched anymore. Another movie that was never popular like the hunger games, the maze runner, divergent. You know why? Because in all those movies there’s a man who fights everything, there’s a man that’s controlling the way the world is- President Snow, Thomas, Newt, Minho, Four. Yes there are badass girls but there has never been a movie when it’s just them, they don’t need help. But this movie has that, a female who took over the world, made this rule, seven females who are each skilled in their own way, none of them need a man.

Some people can’t take knowing that. They can’t live with having that movie out there without there being a major male character always there to save the day, or a male character as a villain. So, very respectfully, watch “What Happened to Monday” and, fuck sexism.

A correctional officer enters a subway, cuts infront of me and my mum because his wife is ordering for her two kid sons and teenage daughter.

The wife hits one of the sons, and demands that he eats his subway when she buys it, though she is letting him eat an entire bag of chips right before she orders the damn subway.

When the daughter's subway is being made, she wants nothing more on the subway than just the cheese and meats, so she tells her mom that. Her mom tells the sandwich artist the same. Her father later asks her what she wanted on her subway, she walks up and says 'nothing..I already told mom', to which the father responds with 'Oh but you're a typical female, I figured you'd change your mind'.

Now this man is wearing his correctional officer uniform and everything, and even talks to the sandwich artist about it. Apparently the lady sandwich artist had a past boyfriend who was a correctional officer, so wowzers.

The kid sons tell the mom what they wanted on their subways, and when she gives it to them, she put something on both of them that they didn't want. She told them to shut up, and that 'they just automatically put that on there' when they said they didn't want that, when it was a mistake on her part because it was an add-on topping.

It took them a half an hour to order, then they ate inside. As me and my mum were ordering, and a guy was waiting in line, they carried on with their bullshit at their table.
