I'll do you one better and include the STORY! So, I, Vanna (note: Yasha mostly does the Tumblr and I mostly do the Twitter,) was smoking enough weed to knock out a large horse or put a very tiny dent in my constant back and shoulder pain, as one does when when they're a middle-aged Registered Nurse in the year 2023. (I'm 39 but it's an old 39, lmao.)

Scrolling through Twitter, I stumble on a fanart of Suletta from Witch of Mercury sitting goofily on a white couch. Now I haven't seen this show yet, but the white couch....looked familiar, and I know the show is very much a descendent of Utena in terms of creative teams. For those that don't know, the series is written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, who also wrote the two Revolutionary Girl Utena novelizations...which if you didn't know about before, you know about now, and can read translated on our site here! (Warning: Touga and Miki uh, in the novels...)

Anyways, so I hop onto my own website and start downloading the images that will constitute receipts, before realizing 1. these images are all on multiple computers feet away from me, 2. the couch isn't an identical match, 3. that'd have been weird anyway, and most importantly, 4:

The edges of the armrests have sloppier upholstery than the blanket I have covering my computer desk. I took the time to tuck seams at least. What is this??

Now it could absolutely be leather, I thought. It would absolutely track. But leather upholstery doesn't look like this. It doesn't wrinkle quite this way. It would have cleaner seams.

No. No that's too shiny for leather. So here I am, presented with this strangeness I'd never really considered in how Akio's couch is drawn, and having spent the last few months learning about my Italian-American family history, my chemically altered ass came to the only reasonable conclusion:

Akio Ohtori has plastic coverings on his white couches, like he's a depression era American in poverty.

Fuck yeah, I though, A HIT TWEET, there, at the end of all Tweeting things. (Yeah I'm working on that, stay tuned, lmao. I of all people know when to bail on stupid men with stupid power.) Because I am me, I framed it as semi serious by pulling a context to explain it out of my ass:

But the replies? They were not. And then I thought about it some more. And I've kept thinking about it. Do I seriously think Ikuhara and Co literally are intentionally drawing a plastic covered couch? Doesn't that feel, Vanna, like a bit of a stretch, even for Utena meta?

Listen to that CRONCH when Akio sits down in episode 31, before Anthy is seen by Nanami. Look, the buttons on the back rest don't quite fit, but the rest? Yeah it kinda does. I was high, but not wrong!?

Akio *does* surround himself with a bizarre hodgepodge of Americana as an aesthetic. The arm garters. The piping and cut of his cowboy-ass shirt. His American car. His mullet. His miniature fucking golf. Why not the plastic covered couch? It's a trope of American poverty that would absolutely have fallen neatly into the diet of American pop culture that influenced Ikuhara. (He makes references to E.T. and The Godfather and Suspiria and all kinds of things in his other work, Utena itself is a little less obvious with individual references but inherits HUGE amounts of vibes from the same content--Ikuhara and Co watched Lost Highway in theaters during the production of the Akio Arc and I will not be convinced otherwise.)

So yeah. That's the story, and that's the theory. Do I seriously believe it was deliberate? Maybe. Probably. Possibly. But it fits so well it's headcanon for me, and in the Utena fandom, pretty much all canon is kind of headcanon so enjoy this one.

VERDICT: Let's be real. Unless you're Eirika or Ephraim (or willing to put on some cosplay) he won't be bringing his A-game. If you are, though... oooh. Boy. The emotion would run high. There would be crying. I'll leave it up to you as to whether this is a plus or minus.

ASHNARD (FE9)

Unlike some other options on this list, it is at least 100% proven that he has had sex, if only as a means to an end. I honestly doubt whether he would fuck for any other reason to be honest

VERDICT: If, for some reason, being used as a genetic experiment isn't a turn off, he's absolutely going to ask if he can turn a family member of yours into a mindless war beast, probably immediately after the sex. If for some reason this still isn't a turn off, uhhhhh I hope y'all are happy together.

ASHERA (FE10)

While I could imagine most of the other characters in this list being open to the idea of sex, I really couldn't see Ashera being DTF. But...

VERDICT: She's hot in a scary Drakengard way, so I'd say it's worth at least shooting your shot. She'd probably turn you to stone, but that's the risk you take for love.

ROBIN (As possessed by GRIMA) (FE13)

Fell Robin is a great example of the effects of evil on human attractiveness. On their own, Robin is human tofu. They are a perfect 5/10. Being possessed raises their score to at least 6/10.

As far as I know, he doesn't have an official age, but I see this character and I think "that's baby"

It's everyone favorite problematic waifu! What is there to say about her that hasn't been said before.

VERDICT: I feel like you'd need to have some very specific fetishes for this to be a good idea, but if you do... have fun?

Okay so, you are right, Alejandro, Ghost, and Alex are linecooks. Koenig used to be as well, but O'Conor has opened a restaurant right across the street, so now he's a linecook there. There's essentially three workplaces right now:

Shadow Supply Company Unquatrun Restaurant Kortac Pub

I'll go through each company and list employees

Shadow Supply Company:

Graves obviously is owner. He supplies to both Unquatrun because his husband in Alejandro's nephew and Lucas will tear him a new one if he doesn't, and Kortac Pub.

Velikan and Arthur both drive the supply trucks. Arthur to Unquatrun and Velikan to Kortac Pub. Arthur lets Merlin ride in the truck and the linecooks adore that dog, it's the best part of their week at this rate.

Oz and Mila work in... um... illegal supplies, but they also do quality testing and generally just bug both restaurants when they have nothing to do, which is most of the time.

I would put Velikan and Arthur both younger than expected at 20, Oz and Mila are both 26. Graves is 28, Lucas is 22.

Unquatrun Restaurant:

Alejandro, Alex, and Ghost are back to being the only linecooks. They're all 25. Alejandro and Ghost are actually only a month apart with Alejandro being a month older. Alex is two days older than Ghost, yes they jokingly call him the baby. I'm also introducing Reyes, who is a linecook, and he's also 25, but still older than Ghost, as he's a January baby

Rudy, Gaz, and Farah are full servers and are the main servers, though Laswell occasionally helps out when it's really busy. Rudy and Farah are full time, with full pay as well as tips, and Gaz is full time but relies mostly on tips as he doesn't really need the income and he'd rather that go back into the restaurant, so he takes the minimum they have to pay him. Farah and Rudy are both 24, but Gaz is 23. (I fucked up on the profiles and I'm changing some stuff)

Originally, Valeria and Horangi were bartenders, but both have quit and went to Kortac Pub. However! I have introduced Chuy, who is now a bartender, and he's 24. In fact, he and Rodolfo are almost twins by being one day apart. Laswell also helps out the bar when it gets busy and Rodolfo bartends on bar nights, and after they close the dining room and switch to bar seating only.

Soap and Roach are both hosts, full time. Soap has trouble reading the menus, and the POS is in a dyslexic friendly font. Roach is selectively mute because of autism, so it's just better for them to be hosts. Soap will bartend but only if ABSOLUTELY necessary, because reading tickets is a bitch for him. That receipt font is horrible, by the way, 0/10. Anyway, Soap is 24, and Roach is 22.

Price and Laswell co-own the restaurant and they've basically split duties between them, with Laswell running the entire front and Price handling the back. At first, they thought this might change as Laswell would have more duties, but the linecooks, especially with Reyes added, are a massive handful so... no, it didn't change. Both are 38.

Kortac Pub:

They're a bit smaller of a restaurant since they're a pub, I don't have emotional attachment to many of the Kortac members, but Roze and Koenig are both linecooks. They work semi well together. Roze is 26, Koenig is 25.

Horangi and Valeria still bartend, but Horangi will also be a server if necessary, since they only have Calisto and Stiletto as servers at the moment. Valeria isn't nice enough to the customers to be a server. Horangi is 25, Valeria is 24.

There is no official Host right now, but Nikto and Mace are both bouncers but only on the weekend.

I came across your IDW post about which ships have been teased in the comic so far, and something that I always find.... surprising, I guess, is that fans do not seem to notice or care just how many ones contain Sonic. One day Sonic gets carried bridal style by Shadow and bam they're bfs now it's canon Sega approved this everybody!!!!!!! The next Blaze is making googly eyes at him and Sonaze canon everybody!!!! Sonic held Lanolin's hand it's canon!!!!!!! Amy is gushing and blushing and oh my god it is totally canon!!!!!!!! (Where, funnily enough, Sonic carrying Amy bridal style elicited much less of such a reaction than Shadow carrying Sonic did in the It Is Canon Now debate, at least from what I could tell on Tumblr. Though considering this is Tumblr, I can think of some reasons, lol.) This happens in the games as well, except the fact I do feel those lean a lot less into deliberate ship teasing like the comic does.

And you know.... if there is so much to be teased in IDW and so much "canon" and every single issue at this point contains a different character for Sonic to be making his smug face at while they simp and/or get all tsundere... maybe it is a clear sign that all this means nothing and is only put in to make fans go "!!!!!! THEY APPROVED MY SHIP I AM SUPERIOR NOW TO ALL OTHER SHIPS CUZ IT IS IN OFFICIAL [*cough, cough*] MEDIA!!1!!1" as opposed to actually going anywhere for Sonic ship-wise? Not that the fans will ever realise that, sigh.

I noticed, actually. The only non-Sonic ships that so far have been teased are Whispangle (and how), Knuxamy in #62, and absolutely accidentally Staregg in the MV arc lol (I don't care how accidental it was, Staregg OTP in my heart :< starline totally wanted to clap those eggcheeks don't @ me)

I think I saw a tweet jokingly calling Sonic a slut when #63 dropped? Don't quote me on that though, I don't remember the phrasing but it was a joke about how many people he has flirted with recently lol (including the heavy Sonknux vibes of Frontiers)

(it's also funny that Sonamy gains far less traction than all those other ships lol. Maybe it's because it's almost "canon" and so not as interesting. Or maybe we know why :^) )

But yeah. I understand enjoying the crumbs of ship teasing, I really do, especially for the minor ones such as Sonaze (Sonanolin is kinda funny though lol, I doubt that one has many fans). But there's a difference between "HOLY SHIT THEY HELD HANDS THAT'S CUTE" and "HOLY SHIT THEY HELD HANDS IT'S TOTALLY CANON GUYS!!!". And cynically, the overabundance of teases involving Sonic can be explained as 1) him being the protagonist and the more interesting character to ship, to generate views and attention (only, like, 6 people cared about the Knuxamy tease and i was one of them), and 2) the dude is so irrelevant in his own comic that this is the best they can think for him. The OCs deal with a semi-serious plot, and the titular character protagonist of the massive franchise IDW Sonic is attached to is reduced to shallow fanfic fuel. Granted, I'll take slut Sonic over Preachy Pope Sonic any time of the day, but you get what I mean.

The Sonadow teasing is IMO the worst. Sonic emotionally manipulates Shadow in #6 by making leverage on the way he had been twisted to carry out Gerald's evil plans? OMG THEY'RE TOTALLY SHARING BEDROOM EYES SONIC SO WANTS TO FUCK HIS BF <3 Shadow is an utter cunt for the entirety of the Chao Racing arc? AWWWWW MY LITTLE GAY BABIESSSSSSS SONIC IS SO HAPPY TO FALL IN HIS ARMS AS SHADOW INSULTS HIMMMMM <3 NVM THAT SHADOW SAID IN #19 THAT SONIC DESERVED TO BE PAINFULLY INFECTED <3 <3 <3 And you know what I also roll my eyes at "I heart you too Shadow" from Prime, for how out of context it was taken. I didn't watch Prime in full, but I did read IDW, and there is no way you can see a healthy chemistry between Sonic and Shadow if you actually pay attention to the whole story and dialogue. ... the fact that Flynn hosted a whole Bumblekast episode dedicated to Sonadow at the end of Pride Month also doesn't help, he deliberately fanned the flames because he knew how much his fans would eat from his hand :\

As for the games, yeah, the ship teasing is usually played for laughs or subtle and understated. Amy went from comically chasing Sonic, to having more serious moments such as her hugging him in the ending of Frontiers. Knuckles and Rouge had some odd tension by the end of their arc in SA2. Sonic and Blaze had that whole "slowly holding hands" moment at the end of Rush. Sonic and Elise... yeah that one took a decade to be accepted for how prominent it is. ShTH is still the king of teasing ofc :P the series is mostly about friendship, not romantic love.

Why do I do this to myself?

Sup everyone. Surprised to see me? Yeah I'm surprised to be posting. But as my head get slowly closer to exploding despite me doing everything that normally helps with my headaches? I thought I'd share a Miraculous hot take that I came up with a while ago but never actually shared. Warning. Spoilers and slight salt ahead.

Okay, so while I was trying to take a nap to hopefully rid myself of this headache, my mind went back over opinions I have come across on Tumblr and other sites as a sort of "yeah right, I'm not letting you sleep, have some month old anger instead". Specifically around Zoe Lee and how she's a Mary Sue.

Now. Three things piss me off about the term Mary Sue just on its own. Number one, it's more than likely being used incorrectly. Number two, it forever ruins a great sounding name (Mary Sue just sounds sweet to me and I would use for the kind neighbour next door if it wasn't for this) and three? Is used as an insult despite being EXACTLY WHAT SUPERMAN IS AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL WITH A GODDAMN NUKE SO COME AT ME!

pants Sorry. That always gets to me. Anyway, the term as it's applied to Zoe? Falls firmly in the first scenario. See, people call her a Mary Sue when in reality what they mean is "bland nice girl" so kind of like Mylene until Horrificator or Rose until Princess Fragrance where we actually saw more of their personality. I'd go further into what I mean but that's not the point of this.

No, the point is all the people who say Zoe has no reason to exist and to them I say. "She's a fictional character her reason is because the writers say so." But... I also agree. This is where the salt comes in because, had Miraculous not been stubbornly controlled by a bullying manchild incapable of receiving criticism, who also hates a teenage girl he made up to an extent that it's disturbing? Zoe wouldn't exist.

Now people have said that she was just a replacement for Chloe. And again I agree but not for the reasons they believe. Zoe is what Chloe should have become had Mr "nobody appreciates me so I'll put myself in the show telling them why they are idiots" actually followed through on the redemption arc. Yes I'm insulting him more than I have ever even mentioned him before. Why? Because I recently saw his tweets where he said Chloe wasn't abused because she has a father throwing money at her despite her mother rejecting her existence. Fuck. Him. Not to mention the ones where he basically calls us idiots for thinking Chloe was getting redeemed in the first place.

Anyway I'm getting off topic. What do I mean when I say Zoe is basically a redeemed Chloe? Well our first introduction to her in Sole Crusher shows she's capable of being a copy of Chloe, something she does because she just wants to feel loved by her family. We know from the whole Queen wasp thing that Chloe doubts her mother's love for her (something that is never mentioned again despite Audrey's opinion on Chloe never really seeming to change. Unless you want to count keeping her like some kind of mini me which is... Arguably worse and reminds me of how Chloe treats Sabrina) and it was believed by the fandom that Chloe acted the way she did because she wanted her mother to love her and be proud of her. But nope. She's just irredeemably evil. Despite being a 15 year old girl who still cuddles her bear and sucks her thumb for comfort when she's upset. Totally evil.

Grr... next. Point. Before I devolve into pointing out all the times Thomas Asshole showed he knew jackshit about characterisation.

Anyway. After Zoe realises that she'll never get her family's love in a way she's satisfied with she turns to her newfound friends for comfort cutting all attempts to please her mother. Something we expected Chloe to do. Then comes Queen Banana. Not only is Zoe given the bee miraculous (which I don't understand why people were surprised at, who else was gonna get it? Aurora? Marinette doesn't go far to pick new members. And if you say, "well they could always just fuse" you clearly don't understand the benefit to having another person for the Akuma to focus on.) But the way she got Chloe to keep the charm showed that she's capable of manipulating people. A skill we all thought Chloe would put be able to put to better use should she be redeemed. See Matt's Honey and Vinegar comic for a brilliant example of this.

Then we get to the major point in my mind. Something everyone (may be an exaggeration) had pegged for Zoe since she was introduced and that most theorised for Chloe as a potential explanation for some of her actions. Having feelings for Marinette. Now when this was confirmed it wasn't a surprise to me. It was so far from a surprise I was actually slightly disgusted that they chose Zoe to be the blatant one and not confirm Rose and Juleka or even Marc and Nathaniel. You can say it's obvious from how Rose and Juleka interact but Alya and Marinette act the same at times and they haven't known each other nearly as long. Or as intimately since Juleka kept Rose's illness a secret for who knows how long and that tore her to pieces every time it happened. I'm a dude. I'm so conditioned to see Yuri in female friendships that I've reconditioned myself to go the opposite way and assume it's just me being perverted. Do I believe Juleka and Rose are a couple? Yes. Will I call it canon? Not until I see a kiss, because they've definitely already confessed by now if it's true. Do I care if the writers confirmed it? No. Because JK Rowling said Dumbledore was gay and Hermione could be black. Only one of those is possible given what she's written, the other is clearly just an attempt to please this new era obsessed with inclusion at the expense of preestablished facts.

Dammit I got off topic again. Anyway, Chloe has been in the same class as Marinette for the past four years, something I remember joking about a while back calling Chloe out for being a stalker. But with her dad being Mayor, her fully using that to get what she wants even in school, and her focus on making Marinette miserable to such an extent that it's almost like Mari is the only target Chloe actually cares about hurting? Well I've seen enough "bully because I like you", "lash out because I'm confused" and "overcompensate because it's not normal/ my parents would disown me if they knew" tropes to suspect that they're might be a deeper meaning to why she does it.

Or at least that's what I would think. You know. If she wasn't completely and utterly evil. Between all the play heroes, tickle fights with Sabrina until they fall asleep, and being the sole person to throw off an Akuma before it takes hold because of their firm belief they are a hero. An Honest Guide to Tumblr for Twitter Refugees (Part 0)

So I had posted Part 1 first, covering basic technical aspects like configuring your Tumblr settings and customizing your Tumblr. And while I was writing my draft for Part 2, I realized that all these “How to use Tumblr” guides are pretty much useless if you don’t even know what the heck Tumblr is and why you should even use it… Thus, I’m just gonna go ahead and talk about that first.

So, what the heck is Tumblr?

I’ve mentioned this in Part 1: Tumblr is a blogging platform. The name “tumblr” comes from the word “tumblelog.” But this definition is just putting things simply.

I’d like to define Tumblr as your own personal corner in the internet. What it really is depends on how you use it. This blog where I’m posting this guide is a blog I use for the multiple fandoms I’m in. Here, I talk about the latest anime episodes, reblog gifs, and sometimes post theories and analyses. My dashboard, then, is full of users who are in the same fandoms as me, and the posts I see most often are those about anime and manga.

Fandom is just one Tumblr use-case. You can customize your Tumblr experience to however you want it to be.

If you’re a writer, you can join the writeblr community and post about your WIPs. You can also follow other writers and talk about their WIPs.

If you’re an artist, you can check out the #artists on tumblr tag and see what other artists are making.

If you’re a developer, you can try making your own Tumblr themes and even join coding challenges.

If you like science stuff, check out the #science side of tumblr.

And if you want to wax poetic about your latest hyperfixation, you can start an fyeah blog. You can go as wild as you want, and people won’t cringe and call you weird for it.

Great! So now I can start posting and joining the x/y/z communities on Tumblr, right?

Not yet. I mean, you can, of course; there’s no hard rule for it. But I advise against jumping right into things.

Someone posted about this before, but I couldn't find that post anymore, so I'll just say it again: Before starting anything here on Tumblr, it's best you spend a few days just lurking around.

Don't make an intro post, don't rush to advertise your blog, and don't start begging for followers yet (the number of followers don’t even matter here). Just lurk. Observe. See how the veteran Tumblr users are doing things and learn from them.

This has been said many times before, but please leave your Twitter habits out the door. Tumblr culture and etiquette is not something you can learn overnight, so it’s wise to just watch first.

Familiarize yourself with the Tumblr terminology. Like, what does “meta” mean? What are ask/tag games? What does it mean when a user says they’re “tracking tags”? There are many other terms, and although it’s not necessary to learn them, you’ll enjoy Tumblr more if you know what they are.

Oh, by the way, it’s called reblog, not retweet. God forbid you call them retweets. And no, adding content to a reblog is not the same as quote tweeting. (I’ll talk more about this in Part 2 or 3 of this guide.)

Why should I listen to you? I’m gonna treat this place like Twitter, fuck you

You don’t have to listen to me at all. But I’m telling you, if you treat this place like Twitter, you’re just inviting hate and ridicule upon yourself. As much as Tumblr users like to call this place hellsite and complain about how it’s always broken, we are oddly very defensive of it. We do not want it to become a Twitter 2.0.

Is Tumblr right for me?

As long as you’re not a brand always trying to sell us stuff or a celebrity only using the platform to promote their show/album/movie, then yes, you are welcome here.

To enjoy Tumblr, you have to treat it like a place where you just hang out and have fun and not just another platform to get sales or followers or to chase clout. That just doesn’t work here. There’s a reason why @/neil-gaiman is Tumblr’s most beloved celebrity, and that’s because he understands this.

hi, i'm the same anon. you've put words to my thoughts! if he sees that people from other countries really want to see him, there'll be a bigger chance that he eventually comes there too. obviously there's a difference between "I hope you can come to [whatever country] soon!" and "I'll k*ll you if you don't come here right nowwwwww!" but I haven seen any comments like the latter, so... i don't know what people are talking about, honestly. this seemed like a nice fandom to be a part of :(

It stopped being nice when people started coming to each other's inboxes and the tag about tabloid rumors, which happened a while ago. I was just trying my best not to comment on it, because it would bring more attention to that tabloid bs and some things should remain in the trash can where they belong.

We also had that anon saying stupid things, but it was just a troll, so it didn't bother me that much 😅

I can't even count how many times people said prejudiced things about rpf despite it being tumblr where it isn't posted right into celebrity's face and everyone here just minds their own business. Even Käärijä himself purposefully plays into it with all his "boyfriends" and Bojan said he doesn't mind it. I kept reading it again and again (it was worse during the whole post-esc hype, now I either managed to block it out or everyone has calmed down), and at some point I just didn't feel like writing anymore or enjoying anything. It made me apathetic, because I don't know who follows me here. So many new people... and even if my pinned posts says what kind of stuff they might see, I know not everyone reads everything, so I became anxious (I'm sure most of you are nice people, but it will take time to feel more comfortable, I have a social phobia, so such unsafe situations affect how I'm feeling ��)

Now there's this current drama and I'm just tired of it and feeling snappy, because when you post something in the tag for everyone to see, especially when you're vague as fuck about your source, every single person will start wondering who is that, or blame themselves and starts feeling anxious, or assume the fandom is bullying their blorbo, while in fact it's some prick somewhere in the butthole of the internet, where if I haven't seen it, the celebrity hasn't seen it either (because they're too busy with their job to read dramas on the internet)

I usually see that kind of behavior on twitter and it's exactly how their dramas happen. Instead of having a discussion directly with the person, someone plays the coward card and vagues about it in their own tweets, then others join to blow the whole thing out of proportion. It's exactly what made me leave it for good.

Bringing a drama from one social media to another is a different kind of evil (I assume that's what happened, because I haven't seen anyone attacking Käärijä on tumblr, it's not even possible when he has no account here), it always comes out of nowhere and no one knows what's going on, and they start pointing fingers at each other. The only good reasons to do that publicly is when it's funny or interesting (like that 9/11 fic drama which was hilarious af 😂), otherwise why would you even do that 🤷‍♀️. If the tumblr part of the fandom is peaceful, why do you even shit into your own nest...

Also, I'm sure Jere wouldn't like to see people attacking other fans just because he addressed the situation in his story. He was trying to be polite and supportive and people assumed it's a permission to be shitty to others. The hostile comments are actually the problem. He handled the situation well, there's no need for "poor bby being under attack, I'll protect you uwu" attitude (actually there's never the need for it, because celebrities have professionally trained staff handling the damage control if the situation gets really ugly, but then everyone would know about it, not wonder "wtf who's doing that?"). He's currently not under any attack and he's fine. This is classic toxic fandom reaction with one group of fans getting overly possessive over their blorbo and fighting others for irrelevant, or sometimes even made up reasons. I've seen it happen before.

This reply is not an invitation to have a discourse, or to attack someone else btw (I prefer when everyone is nice to each other). It's just me ranting and you might agree or not, I don't care.

Farewell Fine Line

Okay pardon me for being sappy but since tonight is our last night in the Fine Line era I just want to take a minute and reflect. This is going to be long and corny as hell and you DO NOT have to read it, but I'm feeling sappy so I DO have to write it.

Fine Line was so exciting from start to finish. From the very beginning we knew it was going to be BIG. Even from the fucking "do" tweet that I'll never forgive him for, we knew right away that there was just going to be something about this album.

Lights Up was a day I'll absolutely never forget. When we figured out the lead single was called Lights Up and none of us believed it. (I'll never forget posting on here "Wtf that is not the single title, that sounds like a Liam Payne song" and getting a ton of notes and then turning out to be a clown.) When that thumbnail dropped, we had no idea what to expect. It was so different from anything in HS1 era. It was so sexy and exciting and good and so HIM. Surprising, but him.

I remember Eroda, and how it scared the shit out of me for no reason. (I still haven't watched any of the ads that some of yall were getting on youtube for it). I remember anons telling me I was stupid for believing it was linked to Harry. I remember Fish Anon (moment of silence for fish anon). I remember staying up ALL NIGHT for the music video, and all he dropped was the song. The music video came out hours later, and I remember setting an alarm for like 6am to watch the video.

And god, the album release night. I spent hours on Facetime with @emotionally-imbruised and the lovely Bee (who is no longer on tumblr). We got drunk, and we listened to HS1 in its entirety because we knew it was the last time that that was going to be our only Harry album. I remember Bee living on the other side of the world and having early access to the album, so she'd already listened to like two songs (Sunflower and Cherry-- she waited to hear the rest till I had access to the album) and letting me have just the TINIEST little snippet of Sunflower. (It was the "I couldn't want you any more, kiss in the kitchen like its a dance floor" part and I was hooked from that alone). And I remember it finally dropping-- sitting on the floor of my bedroom (not even in my bed) listening to every song-- even the singles I had already heard-- and live texting Ken and Bee through all of them. We analyzed the shit out of some of them ("No because the long guitar solo in She represents sex and then the climax and then the coming down") and my favorite part of all... when Fine Line ended. I remember just sitting in silence, and getting a text in our groupchat. "Guys... we just listened to Fine Line."

I remember running into my half asleep mom's room JUST to play her the Sunflower "boop boop"s and telling her that my grandpa would have absolutely loved that song.

In my own life, big things were happening as well. I interviewed for (and was offered) my dream job of being a flight attendant, after YEARS of being told no by various airlines. And as thrilled as I was, I was terrified. I can't put into words just how much this album got me through one of the most stressful months of my life. It also gave me one of the most cherished memories I've ever made; February 2020, the plane taking off out of Phoenix to take me to training, listening to Fine Line as we taxied along the runway and hearing the big "We'll be alright" the second the wheels lifted off the ground. Looking over Phoenix, thinking about the big changes that were waiting for me, and hearing that song... honestly I still get chills thinking about it.

I got my wings March of 2020. Obviously, we had no idea what else was going to happen starting that same month. I lived in a crashpad, in a bunk bed, with several other flight attendants, across the country from my parents (first time ever living away from them), and wasn't flying much because of Covid. My other flight attendant roommates were all older, well seasoned flight attendants who didn't really care that much, so I spent a lot of my days alone (AND/OR on facetime with @emotionally-imbruised). And this album became the soundtrack to those memories. This album guided me through a lot of hard times during quarantine. This album means so much to me.

I remember hanging out with @harryfeatgaga in Boston, spending the first day of summer drinking hard seltzer at the beach, our first time having some really deep conversations about life and, of course, listening to Fine Line on her little portable speaker. We still both look back on that day as the day we really became best friends. We listened to the acapella version of Fine Line and SPIRALED over so many hidden vocals we hadn't heard before. We also got our first (and not last) matching tattoo shortly after-- Harry's handwriting (although some of yall seem to think it's Disney Font...) reading "Oh Honey."

Two years later, I was lucky enough to go to Love on Tour several times and watch these songs performed live by the man who means more to me than anything. I got matching tattoos with Paige, @stillafineline, and two other girls who I'd only met 24 hours prior. I was lucky enough to meet so many beautiful friends I'd only spoken to via tumblr, as well as SO so so many others. (The girls Paige and I met at a bar in NY who just so happened to see our matching Harry tattoos. The girls we met in line for wristbands who came over to my, Paige, Caitlin, and @harryshousesonvinyl's Airbnb in LA to get ready. The girls next to us in the pit who watched us deal with a very blackout drunk Sarah Baska. The 17 Harries we picked up on our way to a gay club in downtown NY after Harryween.). I was able to celebrate my 26th birthday in the presence of Harry Styles, who not only performed Medicine, but also had the audacity to say "this is called 'edging'" right before my very eyes. Happy birthday to me, I was edged by Harry Styles.

In those big arenas surrounded by that many Harries and wearing my absolute flashiest outfits, it was the most Myself I had felt in over two years. I'll never forget that.

Fine Line era was hard, but it also had some really beautiful moments throughout the chaos. And this album will forever be one of my favorites. I'm so, so lucky to have experienced it, and I'm so lucky to love Harry.

Goodbye, Fine Line era. I cannot wait to see what surprises Harry has in store for us with the Harry's House era.💜✨

I was about to make this one of those posts that say, "Hey everyone, WATCH OUT, there's some ILLEGAL PIRATED Adobe software that you should definitely AVOID. Here's the link so you know what to look out for, because you wouldn't want to get stuff FREE by MISTAKE"... and then I realized, if Adobe actually wanted to come after me for copyright shit (which they don't), their lawyers don't fucking care if I did it with a coy wink and a nudge.

So fuck em.

Fucking steal that shit. It's a moral imperative.

(And if you don't want to for personal reasons, or because you're a business and they will come after you, you can get Adobe CS2 free legally, or any of these decent free alternatives.)

You have to download it using one of the options at the bottom of the site (I used RapidGator) and it's a pain in the ass but still ultimately safer than trying to find a torrent (send me an ask about that if you want another masterpost).

How to use:

Once the files download, PUT YOUR COMPUTER IN AIRPLANE MODE

Make a System Restore Point just in case anything goes wrong and you want to roll it all back.

Install the programs you want. They may ask for you to sign in or put in a key. Just click the "do it later" option and close out of the program as fast as you can. Ideally, try to install the programs without letting them launch at all.

Copy the crack file (the one with its name listed on the website) and REPLACE the original file of the same name. You don't actually have to use the patch tool.

If you're confused, let's do Photoshop as an example. So you've run the installer, and you now have Photoshop installed. Go to its Program Folder (on Windows it's usually "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\" but if you're ever unsure, you can install Everything Search then just search your whole computer for "photoshop.exe"). Delete the original photoshop.exe, and put the photoshop.exe that you downloaded in the exact same place.

DON'T OPEN IT YET. We need to block Adobe from verifying/updating these programs...

If you have any other genuine Adobe programs (e.g. Acrobat DC) make sure you've signed out of your Adobe account.

Block all these apps in your firewall (You can look up how to do that for your specific device). Also, if you're on Windows, you can open "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" in a text editor and add the follow:

Hi g3nesis, this is so polite! And anon, I'm sorry that happened, Cloudflare Warp is not a safe and anonymous VPN.

Let's talk about Torrenting!

So let's start with the basic requirements. What is a VPN?

A virtual private network is a secure encrypted tunnel you make to someone else's computer, and that's what actually accesses the public internet, so it looks like all your traffic is coming from that computer. The obvious downside here is that you have to trust whoever's running that computer to 1) Ensure a safe connection that doesn't leak your info, and 2) Not keep logs of who you are or what your traffic contained.

Usually that means a paid VPN service, because the general rule of the internet is that if you get a product for free, then you are the product. Paid VPN providers companies have more of an incentive not to keep logs, since they're already getting their money, but you still have to take their word for it.

The one big exception to the above rule is FOSS: Free, Open-Source Software. This means someone committed to the principles of transparency and community/cooperation has made their software free to use, and the code public to anyone who'd like to peruse it. FOSS generally isn't particularly profitable, unless they also offer some service, e.g. hosting servers. It's like saying, "You can read the code and run it yourself for free if you want to, but I'm already running it, I'm know how it works and I'm good at maintaining it, so I'll let you use my server for a small fee."

So let's talk about Windscribe.

Windscribe is my preferred VPN because much of their software is open-source, and they have a Freemium model. That means basic services are offered for free, while upgraded services (like unlimited monthly data) is a paid feature. While nothing is guaranteed, this model is generally pretty safe.

Now the fun stuff: How do I torrent?

First you need a torrenting client, AKA a program that can download torrent files. I recommend qBittorrent, which is a completely free and open-source program. It's lightweight and ad-free, and has versions for any operating system. Install your torrent client, install your VPN, start up both, and activate a VPN connection. Now you're ready to torrent!

How torrenting works:

Torrenting (aka "bittorrent") is a decentralized method of file-sharing. Basically, one person hosts a file (or multiple files) on a torrent client. That's called a seed - the complete file, available to be downloaded over the internet from their computer. While they have their client open and running, they are seeding the file. If they stop seeding or turn off their computer, that file will no longer be accessible over the internet, because it is not hosted permanently on any server.

They might post a link (called a magnet link) on a website like ThePirateBay so others can find it. If I want to download that file, I can click that magnet link, and it will tell my qBittorrent client how to start downloading the file in little bits and pieces of data. If the download gets interrupted before finishing, I'll still have those pieces of data, and I can always resume later. Downloading the file is called leeching.

Once I've downloaded (aka leeched) enough pieces of the file, qBittorrent can make it accessible to others. Now if you start downloading the file, you might download some pieces of data from the original person, and some from me. It's a way of decentralizing the burden of constantly uploading data. If I do this, I am called a peer. If I don't, I am called a leech, because I am downloading from the torrent without contributing to it. Don't be a leech!

Once I have fully downloaded the file, if I leave qBittorrent on, it continues sharing that file. Since I have the whole file, even if the original person stops seeding, others will still be able to download it - from me! I am now a seed.

And that's how torrenting works! One person starts sharing a file, and as more people download it and then share it themselves, it remains accessible long after the original host abandons it. This also means that if no one continues seeding a torrent, then it will be dead. Unaccessible. You won't be able to download it unless someone decides to start seeding it again.

There are many websites that host magnet links. You can search them to try to find whatever file you're hoping to download. They will list the Seed:Leech ratio. The more seeds there are, the easier/faster it will be to download. If there are zero seeds, the file cannot be downloaded.

❗❗❗ IMPORTANT ❗❗❗

Once you have finished downloading, you must seed the file. Yes, it's tough when your VPN has a monthly data limit. Seed it anyway. Seed it next month if you have to. In your torrent client, your "seed ratio" is how many times more data you've seeded vs the amount you've leeched. (AKA, if you downloaded a 1Gb file and you've seeded 800Mb, your seed ratio would be 0.8). Common courtesy is to continue seeding until your seed ratio is 5.0. This number depends on how many other peers are trying to download that file, though. So at minimum, you must seed for 1-2x as long as you leeched. (AKA if it took you 1 hour to download your file, continue seeding it for at least 2 hours after that).

Now, you might have heard torrents are full of viruses. In truth, anything off the internet could have malware. I recommend having a good antivirus program. Kaspersky Free is a good option. Make sure it's one where you can run a scan on an individual file; anytime you torrent something, scan it before opening it. For smaller files, you can upload it to VirusTotal.com to run it through a gauntlet of different antivirus scans simultaneously.

Last notes: Internet safety!

P.S. If you're like our dear anonymous asker, and you receive a notice from your ISP about pirating, don't panic! Unless you're seeding terabytes of movies, you're very unlikely to actually be sued. Your ISP isn't even likely to actually do anything. They may threaten to cancel your internet, but that's because they're required by law to notify you. Typically, they don't actually care. HOWEVER, don't be lazy or unsafe about it! Make sure you're following the above steps. For extra security, connect to a VPN server that's not based in your home country, and make sure you don't run out of your monthly data halfway through a torrent, or it will kick you back onto your regular internet connection. Always activate your VPN tunnel before opening your torrent client, just in case some torrents connect automatically (to avoid this, always Pause all torrents, even ones that are seeding, before closing your client!)

Also, torrents are generally safer if...

a) There are lots of seeds/peers

b) It hasn't been uploaded super recently

c) It has comments that look like they're from real people

Look, I support men having careers. I mean, I'm a working man myself! But there's some jobs we're just not cut out for. Let's face the facts: Every single major economic collapse happened under male leadership. Vietnam, Afghanistan... Every time America got into a failed war, a man was president. And we haven't even gotten into the literal tens of thousands of companies that male CEOs have driven to bankruptcy!

I mean, it's just biology. We don't have the right temperament. Men are way too emotional, chauvinistic, overly aggressive, and don't even get me started on the big red button! The only time a world leader got riled up enough to actually drop nukes, of course it was a man!

A good leader has to be nurturing, and in tune with her own emotions. The little gender experiment of the past few centuries has been fun, but enough is enough. We've clearly demonstrated our gender can't handle the pressure and responsibility. It's simply not our place.

Men, we need to come back to reality and stick to what we're good at: manual labor and rotating three-dimensional objects in our mind.
