As these last few episodes air and the spin offs start always know your confessions will be accepted. It's been a dead (no pun intended) few months but that doesn't mean anything. Confess away.

Hey! I was wondering you had any thoughts on why Troy was like.. so upfront with Madison in 3.15 about being the one to lead the horde and how he doesn't feel bad and he'd do it all over again (or something like that, I forget his actual words) bc I'm like is he dumb 😭 did he think Madison would somehow not care? (I guess so, bc he does start saying how Madison gets it or something like that)
I've always (always as in for the last three months bc that's when I first watched the show..) been like why would he not at least pretend to feel bad and regret it? I guess he's just really that deep in whatever bs his dad fed him to make be Like That idk
I feel like I mildly get it but also I can't wrap my head around it at the same time, at least not well enough to put into words so I thought you might have something to say about it :)
Ok. So. Listen. Listen That scene, omg, that scene. I knew something bad was coming since I have been warned by a kind fan beforehand. I knew it had to do with Madison and once he started his confession I was all "NOOOO" but also "ok this is it, he's done for". But also, I… had difficulty finding an in-world motivation/explanation for his behavior in that scene for some time. I mean, it kinda seemed to me more like the writers deciding "Troy's gotta go" than it being a natural conclusion from… what has been going on in the show. Especially how… unreceptive to Madison's clear discomfort he was during his confession. How he did not read the room. He appears pretty perceptive normally, so I didn't quite get that. It was like he was shouting "KILL ME ALREADY" (which, I mean, I still think he low-key had a deathwish through all of s3, so…it kinda fits?). Itt was, as you said, dumb of him. Very dumb and it made me a bit angry (ask me sometime about Troy's very fluctuating uh abilities. Like when they (writers) need him to, he's like the most clever person and than other times he's so dumb. What's that about… (I mean, I kinda explain this away by uh seeing ftwd as from the POV of the Clarks. We don't really get into Troy's head, but we kinda do know what the Clarks are thinking… so maybe that's just their view of him, and yes that could explain it. Sorry went off on a tangent there…) Also, about pretending to feel bad - I don't think he would have. He.. doesn't seem like the type to put effort into hiding his emotions or making them palatable for others. But, you know, he could've just not said anything. That would've saved him (for the moment, no one's to say he wouldn't have fucked up later on 😂 It's Troy, he's just learning to be a human). Anyway, for a long time I just chalked Troy being dump up to 'he needed to die so that's what the writers came up with, whatever'. And didn't spend too much time on that. But then I wanted to use this moment in one of my fanfics and well… I had to make sense of what he was doing not by explaining it away with the writers but with Troy's own motivation. Get into his head in this moment after all... And I hope it's ok if I just quote the relevant part here.
Troy felt relieved when he heard Madison asked, “Why would Daniel want to kill Troy?” This was it, he was sure of it. This was the missing piece to get back into step with Madison. Because even though she’d just told him “we’re good” he knew they weren’t. He had sensed her trepidation in her ingenious smile, in the hesitation in her voice. And now he was sure it was because he was still keeping a secret from her. A secret that only become one because of Nick, because he had followed Nick’s lead on this. And he hadn’t minded, understood that Nick rather not tell his sister Jake died partly because of him… But now he couldn’t keep quiet anymore. Not if it talking could mean that it would bring Madison and him close together again. Not if it meant it could again be as it was, before, between Madison and him. And yes, their conversation got heated once he admitted what he’d done. He should’ve expected that but he was too caught up in it. In trying to explain himself, in trying to rush to go where they’d been before. He should’ve given her more time to process… he knew she would’ve, eventually. She understood him. They were the same – and that was what he was trying to tell her, remind her of, however clumsily. “I’d do it all again,” he implored her, trying to make her see, “All of it, Madison.”
~ I'd do it all again, Chapter 1
So, as you can see, I don't think he thought Madison wouldn't care - it was worse than that. He thought she would… well almost like thank him for it. Not for what he did but for saying it. And I do think he really thought she'd get it. He thought this would show her their similarities, remind her of it again (and maybe it did, and maybe *that's* why she killed him (or not killed as we now know)). He thought it would bring them closer together. He thought he'd found his people with Madison and Nick, those who could understand him, tolerate him (maybe even be thankful for his existence). But he badly misjudged and he realized too late. And you know, now that I'm writing this out… I remember back to the ask about Troy's expression in his moments of imminent death and how it looked to me, among other things, like there was acceptance there. If it was, maybe he realized that Madison killing him is kinda proof of what he said to her, the "And you would, too, I know you would." Because she kinda did, didn't she. So on this depressing note, I'll end my explanation. Hope it was what you were looking for and thank you so much for the ask 🧡🧡🧡

So I just found out Luciana is confirmed for s4 and since I am a super petty bitch was wondering if you could write a trick fic where Troy lives and eventually ends up running into luci and nick. Nick has this relationship crisis but ends up choosing Troy? Idk if you can make this short enough for just a req fic but hey worth a shot to ask right? (never stop writing btw please)!!!!!!!
Sorry it took me a while to get to this one, I too am a bit of a petty bitch about this situation (mostly because I think they’re going to have them get back together like nothing ever happened between them in the first place), so I’ll gladly give this a shot.

No Choice
Parings: Nick Clark x Luciana Galvez & Nick Clark x Troy Otto

Notes: Thanks to @anon-ai for helping with the parts of the story in Spanish. I really appreciate it.

Nick made his way back to the bazaar after he blew up the dam. After bullshitting his way back in he went back to working for El Matarife like nothing had happened. No one asked about where his family or friend had gone, and nobody cared that he was constantly drunk and high.
On the morning of his 7th day back working for Matarife, Nick was out collecting walker heads when he noticed a car driving towards him. He ignored it, content to behead a slow-moving walker with his machete. The car was probably headed down the road to the bazaar anyway.
Nick tossed the walker head into his rickety shopping cart with the others and started to push it along the roadside when the approaching car slowed to a crawl behind him. He kept on ignoring it. It wasn’t the first time someone stopped to gawk at him as he did his job.
A moment later the engine cut and Nick could hear the telltale sound of a car door opening and closing. He heaved a sigh as he turned to tell off whoever was walking up behind him, a hand on the handle of his machete just to be safe. “What-” he began, words dying on his tongue at the sight before him.
Standing beside the front bumper of a beat up old Buick Century, was Luciana in all her post-apocalyptic glory. “Nick.” She said, eyes wide as she took in the sight of him for the first time in weeks.
Nick blinked in disbelief, briefly wondering if he was still high before he took a step forward, then another, and another. Before he knew what he was doing, he had wrapped both arms around her and pulled her into a tight hug that she returned without hesitation.
After a long talk (read as: lots of arguing ending in Nick telling Luciana everything that happened after she left him) Luciana told Nick that she had never found her friends in Mexicali, and that she’d been wandering ever since. She’d heard about El Bazar and decided to check it out.
The two ended up falling back into a relationship of sorts after that. At first Luciana was just crashing with Nick in the quarters that Matarife set him up in, then one night, Nick woke up from a nightmare to Luciana standing over him with this look in her eyes. She ended up climbing into bed with him and the rest was history.
Or so they thought.
Two months later Nick was sitting in the cantina, his head aching from yet another night of terrible sleep and an excess of equally terrible tequila. He had already finished work for the day, so now he was nursing a glass of something that tasted something like lemonade mixed with lighter fluid while he waited for Luciana to return from a scouting mission.
After a while a figure plopped down onto the vacant stool beside Nick’s, their elbow bumping Nicks as they got settled. Nick couldn’t really see the person in question, the hood of his jacket was pulled up to try and shield his eyes from the harsh light of day. He grunted at the other person jostling his arm and in turn his drink, but otherwise he paid them no mind.
The figure, a man, knocked his knuckles on the bar top to get the tender’s attention. “I’ll have a water.”
Nick froze mid sip at the sound of the man’s voice. He knew that voice. It had been haunting his dreams for months.
Turning his head slowly he was greeted with the side profile of none other than Troy Otto. A living, breathing, Troy Otto. Nick fell out of his seat at the realization that the man beside him was real and not a drug induced vision.
Half the denizens of the cantina were laughing at Nick as he flailed to the floor, spilling his drink all over himself and making his hood fall back from his face in the process. He landed hard, momentarily stunning him and forcing him to close his eyes tight against the world.
When Nick opened his eyes again, Troy was standing before him, his own eyes wide with shock as he looked down at Nick. The two stared at each other a moment before Troy smiled and held out a hand that Nick took without hesitation. The instant Troy had Nick on his feet the taller man had pulled him into a bone crushing hug.
“I don’t…  How are you here? You were dead, my mom killed you! How the hell are you alive?” Nick asked, pulling away and looking Troy over. The left side of his temple had a gnarly pink/red scar that spider webbed around the corner of his eye from where the hammer had struck and torn away flesh. His hair covered a section of it, but it was still painfully obvious against the natural tone of Troy’s skin.
“She knocked me out. Pretty sure she fractured my skull, too. I woke up a few days later in some village down river. They told me someone blew up the dam and I was found on the riverbank not long after.” Troy explained looking Nick over as well. “You look like shit.” He added.
Nick snorted a laugh at that. “You’re one to talk.”
“I don’t know. I think the scars give me an air of mystery.” Troy said, grinning broadly at Nick like it’d been a day since they’d seen each other last and not over two months.
Nick found himself grinning back. “They give you an air of crazed serial killer.”
“So, you’re saying they don’t affect my boyish good looks in the slightest then.” Troy quipped, earning a punch in the shoulder for it.
Nick rolled his eyes before turning back to the bar to flag the tender down for another drink. “Okay, so, you’re alive, you have been this whole time. What the hell, man? Where have you been? Why didn’t you come looking for me sooner?” He asked as righted his stool and took a seat.
“I had amnesia.” Troy said with a shrug as he sat down beside Nick.
“You’re kidding.”
“Nope. Couldn’t even tell you my own name up until a few days ago. People that found me were calling me Joe. I hated it. But on the bright side I learned some Spanish and I think I’m a little less racist now.” He said with a small laugh before taking a sip of his water.
“Of course, you did.” Nick said with a fond smile and a shake of his head. “It’s really good to see you. You would not believe the nightmares I’ve had since everything that went down at the dam.”
“Yeah? I’ve had nightmares about what happened at the dam too.” Troy said, cocking his head a little to catch Nick’s eye as he stared down into his drink.
“Yeah?” Nick asked, blinking up from his drink to meet Troy’s gaze.
“Yeah.” Troy said, scratching at his jaw as he thought about it. “I’d see Madison coming at me with the hammer, then I’d see you looking horrified, then I’d wake up thinking it was actually happening.”
“I’m sorry.” Nick blurted.
“For what?” Troy asked with a snort. “Madison’s the one who snapped and tried to kill me. That isn’t your fault.”
“But it is! I couldn’t protect you! If I hadn’t gotten cornered by Daniel then mom never would have found out what really happened with the horde and you never would have gotten hurt!” Nick argued, turning his body so he was mostly facing Troy now.
“Nick, she would have found out eventually. And chances are she would have had a gun instead of a hammer when she did. I don’t blame you for how things went down.” Troy said, grabbing hold of Nick’s hand and giving a squeeze as he looked the younger man in the eyes.
Nick looked from Troy’s eyes down to where the older man’s hand was holding his own. The contact made his stomach do a funny little flip. He kind of liked the felling. “Troy, what are-”
“Just, hear me out.” Troy cut in, giving Nick’s hand another squeeze as he made Nick look him in the eye again. “I couldn’t remember who you were for over two months, but you were in every single dream I had in that time and one thing became crystal clear to me. I am so in love with you, Nick. I’m in love with you and I wanna be with you for the rest of my life.”
Nick felt like he was dreaming. He had to be. No way in hell this was actually happening.
“What the hell is going on!?!?!” Luciana yelled from behind Nick, breaking the spell Troy’s word had created.
Nick yanked his hand from Troy’s so grasp fast he almost pulled the taller man from his bar stool in the process. “Luciana, you’re back.” Nick said as he moved to stand.
“Answer me, Nick! Qué está haciendo aquí este psicópata? Tu me dijiste que el había muerto!” She spat, glaring daggers at Troy, who had moved to stand behind Nick.
“Calm down, please, people are staring.” Nick said, grabbing hold of Luciana’s arm and pulling her away from the busy cantina and in the direction of their living quarters.
“I will not calm down! What is he even doing here?” Luciana asked as she yanked her arm free of Nick’s grip.
“He came looking for me. He survived my mom attacking him and when the dam blew it washed him down river. El despertó con amnesia después de eso. Sus recuerdos acaban de regresar hace unos días.” Nick explained, feeling like his life had turned into a fucking telenovela or some kind of harlequin romance novel.
“Te das cuenta de lo loco que suena eso?” Luciana scoffed as she came to stop outside the door to  their room. “You lost your family because of him, Nick! Why were you even talking to that monster?”
“Because he is my family! Cuando tu te fuiste el estuvo ahí para mí! When I got high and lost my mind in the middle of a horde he saved me! I know he’s a monster, but so am I, Luci. The only difference between us is that I tried not to be!” Nick defended, all of the feelings he’d been ignoring for far too long coming out in one burst.
“Y qué hay de mi? If you consider that bastardo family then que soy yo?” She demanded, getting right in Nick’s face.
“Luciana, I-”
“Don’t! If you’re going to let that monster back into your life then I want no part in it. Tienes que tomar una decisión, Nick.” She said flatly before pushing past him and disappearing into their shared living space.
Nick watched her go, eyes wide in shock and a hand held out in front of him where he’d reached to try and stop her. A moment later he heard a throat being cleared and he turned to see Troy standing a few feet behind him.
“Did you mean all that?” Troy asked, head tilted a little to the side as he studied Nick closely, like he thought it all might be a lie.
“Every word.” Nick said softly, locking eyes with Troy.
“I’ll understand if you choose Luciana.” Troy said after a short pause with a nod of his head. “I know how much you care about her.”
“Cared.” Nick corrected without thinking. He blinked in confusion at his own statement before speaking again. “I mean, I still care about her… But not like I did before she left the ranch…”
Troy looked a bit taken aback by Nick’s confession, his blue eyes wide and trained on Nick’s face. “So… How do you feel about me then? You didn’t really get a chance to say anything before we were interrupted back there.” He asked, trying hard not to sound hopeful.
“Honestly…” Nick began, taking a few steps forwards so he was right in Troy’s personal space when he went to speak again. This close he could he could see the few strands of red hiding in the dirty blonde of Troy’s beard when his gaze flicked down to the older man’s mouth momentarily. “I’ve been in love with you since the night we got high together and you stopped me from talking myself to death.” He said with a small smile. “Maybe longer…”
Troy’s features broke into a broad smile before he brought both hands to cup Nick’s face and pull him into a kiss. It was soft, and sweet, and totally not what Nick would have expected from a first kiss from Troy Otto. It was perfect.
When the kiss ended a moment later, Troy let his forehead rest against Nick’s as he looked him in the eyes. “So, it took you that long to fall for me?”
Nick snorted a laugh and pushed Troy away from him playfully. “Like you loved me from day one.” He snarked, remembering the look of boredom on Troy’s face the first time he’d seen him covered in walker blood back at the depot.
“Nah. I loved you from the moment you held a gun to my head and told me I wasn’t a scientist.” Troy said easily as he continued to smile at Nick.
Nick cracked another smile at that. “Of course, that would be the moment.” He said with a roll of his eyes. “Hey, let’s get out of here. I don’t know about you, but I seriously hate this place.”
“Where do you want to go?” Troy asked, blinking down at where Nick had taken his hand and laced their fingers together.
“I don’t know, but I’ve got a car and credits for enough gas and supplies to hold us over for a while.” Nick said easily, leading the way to the busy trade area of the bazaar.
“You’re not going to say anything to Luciana?” Troy asked, looking back over his shoulder at the door the woman had vanished through before turning to watch where Nick was taking him.
“She was listening, she knows what my choice is.” Nick said with a shake of his head.
With that they got enough supplies to get them started someplace new, and they left the bazaar. Neither of them looked back or wondered what could have happened if either of them chose differently.

YOU’RE MINE(ALICIA CLARK X FEM READER)
Tumblr media
FTWD season 5
Summary- Being jealous of how close Wes and Alicia are getting
Warnings- Language
Word count- 537
-
Ever since Wes decided to hang around the group, he wouldn't stop talking to Alicia. And now they have a whole connection through a stupid painting on a tree(you just didn't understand). You've never had a connection like in the time you've been dating her.
You and Alicia had started dating a little after the storm. You bonded in the house you had to seek shelter in. You confessed to each other and went from there.
You didn't think you'd ever have to deal with jealousy. You were wrong.
-
You got teamed up with Alicia and Wes to take out a group of walkers that got too close to camp and you were not happy. Wes was trying to make conversation with Alicia and he was talking too much making you snap at him to shut up. Alicia glared at you and was confused about why you snapped.
Alicia spotted the group of walkers and you realized more and more were joining the group.
"We need to take them out, there's already stragglers joining." You say and they nod in agreement.
"Okay, we take them out quickly and watch out for Virginia's people." Says Alicia and starts making her way behind the herd. Wes immediately follows her and you huff, you grab his arm and tug him back making him tumble.
"What the hell is your problem." He seethed and your rolled your eyes and turned around to face him but walking backward.
"Shut the fuck up." You turn back around and catch up to Alicia(who heard everything) right before stabbing the first walker.
-
After taking out the herd and a few close calls, you all slumped down on the ground in exhaustion.
"We should get back." You say and stand up. You started walking when you felt a hand encase your arm. You turn around to see Alicia frowning.
"What is up with you? You've been rude to Wes all day." You sigh and shift your weight and lower your head to look at your shoes.
"I'm jealous." You say too low for her to hear.
"What was that?" She leans her head down to catch what you said and you huffed in frustration. You look over Alicia's shoulder and saw Wes standing awkwardly staring at the two of you.
"I'm jealous of Wes and you. You guys have this connection that I and you don't have and I'm scared you may leave me." You admit and bite your lip awaiting her answer. That's when you heard her laughing, you glared at her then looked away in embarrassment. She then grabbed your face and planted her lips on yours, you instantly melted into the kiss and you grabbed her hips, pulling her in close.
Wes cleared his throat and you pulled away out of breath.
“We have some of those walkers coming our way, we need to move.” He walked quickly past you both and you smirked. You grabbed Alicia's face and pulled her into a harsh kiss making her moan at the roughness. You pulled away and pecked her lips.
“You’re mine, don’t ever forget that.”

FTWD 6x09: Things Left to Do
Okay. How did everyone like the episode? Fear is always full of TD symbolism and callbacks, but it tends to be less full and relevant than regular TWD. So, most weeks, unless it’s SUPER full, I’ll probably just do one post about it. Like this one. 😉 Just FYI.
***As always, spoilers abound below for FTWD 6x09. Don’t read until you’ve watched!***
Tumblr media
In this week’s episode, we start with June burying John. It really is a LOT like Ty’s burial in 5x09. Just the way they show it with the shovel in the dirt and such. Also, June is wearing a yellow, flowered shirt. I think the flowers are white and the shirt is yellow, but still. It reminded me of the graveyard flowers in Alone.
Tumblr media
Then Virginia takes her back to Lawton where she lines everyone else and puts them on their knees. Morgan won’t answer her, and she starts yelling into the walkie that if he doesn’t answer, she’s going to kill one of them. He just shows up in person on his horse.
Tumblr media
Now, because of the on-the-knees lineup, clearly there are parallels to Negan here. But beyond the on-the-knees part, I actually find this more like Grady. Unlike 6x09/7x01, no one actually dies here.
Daniel is the first to get hurt. He gets a deep wound on the left side of his forehead. It isn’t caused by a bullet, but it is caused by a gun. One of Virginia’s rangers hits him with the but of his rifle.
Tumblr media
It’s a deep, canal-like split in his scalp. And although Beth’s wound obviously didn’t look like that, we’ve seen a lot of walkers with a similar wound. The one that crawled after Bob in the Big Spot in 4x01 had that. But lots of others have, too.
Tumblr media
Morgan gives a speech about how Virginia is a hypocrite and doesn’t follow her own rules. When something goes wrong, she covers it up. (Dawn at Grady, anyone?)
When Virginia goes for her gun, Strand shoots her in the shoulder. Then he yells at everyone to stop and calm down, saying, “Stand down! This is all that has to happen.”
Tumblr media
Again, it reminded me of the “it was just about her. Stand down,” from Coda.
Tumblr media
But things get out of hand and a shootout ensues. Virginia manages to take Daniel and Grace hostage. One of her rangers leaves with them.
Strand and his people want to execute Virginia, but she says if Morgan allows them to, Daniel and Grace will die. So, he takes off with her, rather than giving her to Strand.
They go to the vacant water tower we saw earlier in the season. * 👀 👀 👀 *. It seems to me that safety and salvation are always found in and around water towers of some kind. Here, Virginia confesses that Dakota is her daughter, not her sister.
Tumblr media
Here’s my first big takeaway . It’s clear after watching it twice that Virginia is something of a Beth proxy . It’s a bit counter-intuitive because she’s all evil and stuff. But I think the proxiness is really just about the situation in this episode. Overall, she’s very Dawn-ish as well, and we can relate that to Beth.
But during the lineup/prisoner situation, she got shot (in the shoulder, not the head) and survived. She goes to a water tower. She’s wearing blue the entire episode. A lot of it. And the dialogue, both from her and around her really stuck out to me. People say, “she’s alive,” “she’s still alive,” and “you’re still alive,” to her constantly. She has a couple of “bullshit” lines. That sort of thing.
Tumblr media
They have to run from the water tower because Sherry’s people, who also want to kill Virginia, come.
They have a conversation where Morgan says he’s nothing like her. He says, “you and me are not the same.” And she says, “Oh Morgan. We’re all the same.”
Tumblr media
We’ve heard this LOTS of times before, including in 2x08, Nebraska, and from Crazy Tattoo Guy at Terminus. (I might have more to say about the Nebraska episode later this week. Stay tuned. 😉)
Morgan takes Virginia back to the place he’s building on the dry riverbed. Dwight, Alicia, Al, and most of the others are there. No one is very happy he brought her. Strand and Sherry’s groups show up, demanding they turn Virginia over to her.
Virginia finally decides to be self-sacrificial. She says she’s willing to die as long as 1) they take care of Dakota and let her live with them and 2) Morgan kills her. She’s afraid the others will torture her, and she just wants it to be quick. She says if he agrees she’ll release Daniel and Grace. So, he does.
He takes her outside the walls and it reminded me a lot of when Daryl turned Lydia over to Alpha. It even had ominous music (but not the same music from that scene or the Red Machete; much softer than that.)
Tumblr media
And once again, it doesn’t end at all the same way, so I don’t know if it’s meant to be a parallel. He’s taking her out to be killed, not exchanged. And, long story short, Morgan can’t do it. He says if he does then they’ll be setting a precedent that’s exactly like what Virginia did at Lawton. So, he takes her back inside and makes her talk to Dakota.
The part with Dakota is interesting. Virginia tells her she’s her mother and it’s very tragic. But Dakota is a prisoner in the church, which I couldn’t help but side-eye. We know they tried to bury Beth in a church, even if we didn’t see it. So, the idea of her being imprisoned there is interesting.
Tumblr media
Plus, Dakota is walking around with this huge iron shackle around her foot. The way she drags it around reminded me of the walker with its leg in the bear trap in 4x03, Isolation, when Carl and Hershel are gathering berries.
Tumblr media
And if you’re wondering why that’s important, this walker with the bear trap on her leg is Beth foreshadowing. There’s the bear trap stuff around Beth from her figurine. So Dakota in this scene, being imprisoned in a church with a metal shackle on her leg, is a Beth proxy.
After that, Morgan goes back out and basically talks everyone out of killing Virginia. Sherry is really pissed, but most of the others see sense and get on board.
Then we have this interesting sequence where we see three different couples in different stages of coming back together. First, Morgan and Grace, who hug and she goes inside the walls with him.
Tumblr media
Then Dwight and Sherry. She says she’s not ready to go inside with him yet, but she’s getting there. He accepts that.
Tumblr media
And then Alicia and Strand. (I know they’re not a romantic couple, but friend-wise they’ve been something of a dynamic duo lately. They may be the new Daryl and Carol.) They’re really not on the same page at all.
Tumblr media
She feels like he betrayed her earlier when he wouldn’t take her with him. He says Morgan’s place isn’t for him. They basically argue again, solve nothing, and Strand leaves. *coughs Carol*.
Tumblr media
Then we get to the final scene where June says she took out the bullet, but ends up killing Virginia. Couple of things here. The dog licking Virginia’s face as she wakes feels significant to me. With all the other Beth parallels to her, I feel like it’s a hint. She’s literally asleep (think Beth at Grady, even though it really doesn’t look at all similar) and a DOG licks her awake.
She’s in the church when it happens. Much like Dakota, the church symbol feels important to me. *Gross picture below!*
I want to make a point about her head wound as well. Now, obviously Virginia is dead. I don’t think anyone will make a case for her return. And for most of you, this is preaching to the choir, but for those who still think Beth’s gunshot wound was fatal, look at the difference. Specifically in the entrance wounds.
Gunshot wound trivia 101: the exit wound is always MUCH larger than the entrance wound. That’s because the bullet pushes blood and tissue and anything else in its path ahead of it, so it does a lot more damage exiting than entering.
Tumblr media
We don’t see an exit wound on Virginia, because we can’t see the back of her head, but it’s probably 2-3 times as big as the entrance wound.
But look at Beth’s tiny pinprick of an entrance wound by comparison. See the difference? It might also be significant that Virginia’s is on the opposite side of her forehead. (Like, opposite side = opposite outcome, in this case?)
Tumblr media
But since that’s what we see, let’s focus on it. It must be 10x the size of Beth’s and blood is POURING out of it. (Probably because the gun is bigger and much closer to Virginia’s head.) We also see flecks of skin and bone around it. (Ew.) There’s no doubt that Ginny is dead. But do you see why Beth’s wound is small potatoes by comparison?
And of course there’s a parallel in the fact that it’s in her forehead. In a church. After all the other Beth dialogue and parallels around Virginia.
Tumblr media
And of course June puts on John’s hat, which sort of has a new sheriff in town vibe. She also leaves the community. I wonder if she’ll end up with Strand or just head off on her own. And of course this makes her a proxy to Daryl.  Though it took much longer, she took out the person who indirectly but overall killed the love of her life.

As for who the villains in the second half might be, it will probably have to do with those guys who were trying to get Emile’s key, and are part of the red submarine/ “the end is the beginning” group. I forgot about them.
That’s about it for this week’s Fear. (There will also be no more TTD until the Fear finale, so I won’t have anything to report on there either. Thoughts?

If they don’t end up together I’m suing haha jk but seriously pls tell me the last part is fluffy otherwise idk what I’ll do
hehe don’t worry, I’m not heartless 😘 we need a happy ending where we can get one, don’t we? I read a 100k+ ftwd fic last month where the characters needed up all dying without ever kissing or confessing their love for each other, and it still haunts me to this day 😩 I couldn’t do that to y’all after experiencing that 😂🧡✨

I confess: I watched the first five seasons of The Walking Dead and the first three of Fear The Walking Dead (before writers from TWD came to FTWD and RUINED it within a single episode, not kidding you). I haven’t watched the new one yet but if there is a time to watch anything Walking Dead-related, it’s their early seasons 😁
I just... its so late in the game that I'm honestly okay without watching it at all. There would be so much to catch up on that that fact in and of itself is a reason to stay away. Add to that my completionist mindset and I don't know if I'd be able to stop if I did start. That gifset I reblogged was supposedly from the finale of the show and I don't know if I'd have the patience to suffer through all of that just to get to that one scene.
Plus, I got over senseless violence years ago, and zombies never really did it for me.

As the new season of FTWD premieres today, I have a confession to make. I literally asked my wife to buy me a butterfly knife for Christmas last year so I could learn to do fancy tricks like Alicia because I just love her, and I think they're neat af. 😍

Queercoding & Troy Otto's Death
I wasn’t going to post about this, but tbh Madison killing him after all the Troy x Nick gay subtext / outright implications really left a bad taste in my mouth.
We can all agree Troy was racist and psychotic (sins of the father IMO). And we all know FTWD has done the POC cast members dirty.
I just want to talk about Troy Otto and Trick / Troik and the queercoded messages being sent.
*
*
*

– Madison killing Troy, to me, is reading like a homophobic mother doing whatever it takes to keep her kid from The Gay. “But wait!” folks cry. “Strand is her BFF and he’s gay! She can’t be homophobic!” But many parents are okay with people being gay, so long as it’s not their own children.
Madison already knew what Troy was capable of - am I REALLY supposed to believe she didn’t deduce that Troy led the walkers to camp? That she didn’t already know just what kind of person she’d been manipulating all along? Troy repeatedly demonstrated the horrible things he was capable of doing.
The ONLY thing that changed was Troy and Nick’s relationship, which she didn’t expect – and this is whether you agree Troy/Nick was intentionally queercoded or not. His death came AFTER Nick already demonstrated in the prior episode that he’d rather be with Troy than her. She took the first opportunity/reason that presented itself to kill Troy.
“He was more threat then friend,” she says. To Nick???? Nick taught TROY fear for fucks sake – AND Troy warned Nick about the horde. He was not a threat to Nick, unless we’re talking about a homophobic mother trying to keep her kid away from the gay. “You took everything from me,” she says to Troy. And it’s been repeatedly reinforced that Nick is essentially Madison’s world.
She killed Troy to keep him away from Nick.
Given the parallels drawn between Nick and Troy by characters IN the show, it makes this a literal representation of Madison killing Nick’s homosexuality – she was fine with EVERYTHING else Troy had done up to the point where he got too close to her son.
Troy’s admission to Madison regarding his relationship with Nick also reads like someone who knows they’re dealing with a homophobic parent or testing the waters. Nick’s his “only friend– like a brother.” He quickly tacks on “like a brother”, as though to reassure Madison of his intentions or in case she’s not okay with his admission of his feelings.
It’s a far cry from the proclamation of love that Troy made in the car when alone with Nick.
*
** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
*
– Nick’s history of addiction, his strained relationship with his mother, his damn near panic attack in Troy’s arms at the thought of having to go back with Madison can ALL read as someone who’s been unable to come to terms with their sexuality or faced repression during adolescence or in their home life. If he had a mother who clearly wouldn’t accept her children being gay, it would explain A LOT.
Being unaccepting doesn’t mean Madison was outright cruel. It can be even more painful to have someone in your life that’s subversive or manipulating (as Madison has shown herself to be) and always claiming they just want what’s best for you.
This would also explain Nick’s confusion over his feelings toward Troy, and why Alicia had to outright say, “You like him.” This scene could also be read as Nick subconsciously testing the waters with a family member. He knew how he felt already - he just needed someone else to say it out loud without rejection afterwards.
In the car, Troy claims that Nick stayed behind because he’s in love with Troy, which Nick doesn’t deny. And that they’re both the same though Nick wishes he wasn’t (another queercoded allusion to being ashamed of his sexuality or repressing it).
Troy was also the person who Nick repeatedly fought for, lied for, and put himself in serious harms way for. If Troy were female, these would all be items to check off on a list for a character’s love interest.
He even hallucinates that Troy rescues him and reaches out to take Troy’s hand – not Alicia, not his ex-girlfriend, and certainly not Madison. Compare it to Ofelia hallucinating her father in the desert – it was the person she cared about most.
And after Troy’s death, Nick wanted to die. To make a point, according to some articles I’ve read. It doesn’t make sense until you consider the queercoding that had been going on with his character and Troy’s. His mother, who he wanted to escape in the last episode, just killed Troy in front of him, the boy that it’s already been established he had feelings for and who returned them.
It’s the end of the world and he still isn’t free.
*
** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
*
– Troy’s person was so largely shaped by his father’s influence. There are references made to him being a “crybaby” (replace it with sissy) and his father’s abuse… his father wanting to make a man out of him, excusing Troy’s progressively more violent behavior – all indications are that Jeremiah, who’s an established racist and abuser, would accept a monster rather than accept a gay son. And so his son becomes a monster.
I don’t believe that Troy and the horde is just about him wanting to destroy the land for racist ideology or a psychotic episode. When he and Nick are in the house during the shoot out, he says “it’s beautiful” (hannigram reference much). He repeats this line while warning Nick and staring at him through the panel in the door, and when he, Nick, and Jake are standing before the horde. In the house shoot-out, it seemed more like Troy was fighting as a fuck you to the his abuser who dared to die a hero’s/martyr’s death rather than fighting a race war. After Nick confesses that he actually killed Jeremiah, the fight goes out of him. When he brings the horde down on the ranch, it’s more plausible that he’s destroying his father’s legacy rather than doing it for race reasons.
Troy again demonstrates this tactic of defaulting to his father’s racist programming when his final confrontation occurs with Madison. He doesn’t seem emotionally invested when he starts spewing racism – it’s again, like a default script. He gets emotional when he tries to explain that she should understand, she would do the same thing (and we know Madison is also a child of abuse).
My point with the above is to support my stance that Troy shows signs of changing once Nick and he develop a relationship and once Jeremiah, Troy’s enabler and abuser, is dead.
He warns Nick about the horde, knowing Nick would warn other people. He attempts to stop the horde with Nick. He takes Nick and tries to warn/save everyone at the dam. He’s speaking SPANISH to Lola after a few days spent with Nick.
He tries to make right with Madison when they are alone, but she seems repulsed by him – given everything she’d seen him do already, what made her suddenly recoil when he got too close physically? She supposedly didn’t know about his involvement with the horde… he came to the dam to SAVE her and her friends…
But, this scene was after Nick and Troy stayed behind together at the bazaar, after the MULTIPLE scenes centered around the two of them and their developing relationship.
And within the show, parallels between Madison and Jeremiah were plenty. Just like him, she could accept a monster but apparently drew the line at homosexuality.

People started getting sick the week before the outbreak and it’s been almost two weeks since everything went to hell. The infected began to outnumber us, making the survival rate become slimmer, especially since we don’t even know how to kill them, not yet anyway. When I had first encountered the undead, I was alone in my house.
There had been a crash somewhere in my house and I placed my phone on my bed, leaning out my door to listen in case I had just imagined it. I jumped when I had heard the noise again, silently closing the door, running over to my phone. My hands shook as I picked it up, dialing Nick, my best friend’s, number. I groaned after I realized that the phones aren’t working, running a hand through my hair.
“W-What do I do?” I asked myself, pacing in my bedroom, taking deep breaths. I went over to my closet, searching through it until I found my lucky baseball bat, gripping it tightly. I opened my bedroom door, tiptoeing towards the living room, glancing side to side before continuing towards the kitchen. My eyebrows furrowed together as I heard raspy growling, seeing a shadow stumble around the area in front of me.
I inched closer, gasping at the Mr. Jones who began trudging towards me. “M-Mr. Jones…” I muttered, stepping back, tripping over the coffee table as he growled at me, landing on top of me, and I place my bat at his throat, attempting to push him off of me as I screamed for help.
I heard my front door being kicked open, hearing Nick yell my name as I glanced over at him, seeing him in raggedy old clothes that he probably stole. Nick kicked the man off me, grabbing my bat and bashes his head until he stopped moving. I breathed heavily, leaning against my elbows as my heartbeat sped up, not knowing what the hell had just happened.
Nick threw the bat down, running over to me, tripping in the process as he kneeled beside me, his hands on my face. “Oh my god. Are you okay?” He asked and I placed one of my hands on his, nodding my head as I sat up.
“W-What the hell was that?” I whispered, glancing up at Nick, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. “I-I mean i-it was Mr. Jones, but…” I trailed off, starting to breath heavier, feeling my throat close up. Nick’s eyes were searching mine, a worried expression on his face as he caressed my cheek.
“Y/N… hey, it’s okay. He’s dead.” He muttered, leaning his forehead against mine.
And here I am, on this damn yacht with Nick, Maddie, Alicia, Travis, Chris, Daniel, Ofelia, and Strand who is the owner of this vessel. My mind always goes back to the day I encountered Mr. Jones in my kitchen, trying to eat my face, because of Nick. I’ve always been very fond of Nick, ever since I had first met him about three years ago. We would always hang out before he became a heroin addict then he just disappeared from my life, but I had already fallen for him at that point and it became so much more difficult to see the person you’re potentially in love with throw away his life for drugs.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a hand on my lower back, making me glance behind me, seeing Nick smiling lightly at me. “You okay?” He asked and I nodded my head, pressing my lips together as I looked back out at the ocean.
“Yeah, just thinking about stuff.” I muttered, leaning into him slightly, glad to finally have some time alone with him. “I’m just glad you’re okay. I began to lose my mind when the military had taken you and when you were locked in the corridor with all those infected, I seriously thought that there was a slight chance that I would lose you.” I whispered, glancing up at him and the two of us walked towards the couch that was embedded in the boat.
“I’m fine, alright? I’m not going to leave you that easily.” Nick mentions, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, grinning down at me. I smiled softly, crossing my arms as the breeze picked up, making me shiver. What a great time not to wear a bra. I thought to myself sarcastically, leaning against Nick’s chest as his arms wrap around my body.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to live without you, Nick.” I mumbled as both of us lay on the couch, looking up at the sky as my chest was pressed against his side, hoping that he couldn’t feel my hardened nipples.
“I wouldn’t want to live in a world without you.” He muttered, his thumb rubbing the back of my hand that rested on his chest. “And I know I’ve been a real dickhead the past year and a half with the drugs. I’m so sorry I had abandoned you.” Nick whispers, glancing down at me as I look up to him, my heart swelling.
“It’s okay. You’re here now.” I told him, laying my head against his chest.
“You know, you’re pretty brave to not being wearing a bra around these people.” Nick said out loud, my cheeks flushing as I hid my face in his chest, arching my back a little so my breasts aren’t pressed up against him. “You don’t have to be embarrassed. I personally don’t mind.” He chuckled and I playfully glared at him, hitting his chest lightly.
I shook my head, a grin on my lips as I crossed my arms, heading towards my room. “Thanks a lot Nick!” I yelled behind me, my cheeks becoming warm as I passed everyone on the way to the stairs.
There was a knock on my door after I put a bra on and I quickly slipped on one of Nick’s shirts, opening the door seeing Alicia on the other side. She waltzed into the room and I closed the door behind her, glancing back as she sat down on the bed. “So, what’s going on between you and my brother?” She asked and I furrowed my eyebrows, my heart picking up a bit.
“Um, w-what do you mean? We’re best friends, Alicia.” I muttered, sitting in one of the chairs across from her, fidgeting with my fingers.
“Bullshit. Y/N I’ve known you for almost four years. I know how you feel about my brother.” She tilted her head to the side, crossing her arms over her chest. “So, are you going to tell him how you feel?” Alicia asked and I sighed, running a hand through my hair, shaking my head no.
“No, god no. I-There’s no way that he’d feel the same way about me.” I whispered, rubbing my forehead with my fingertips.
“You don’t-” Alicia was cut off by a quick knock on my door before it opens, Nick appearing on the opposite side.
“Oh, I didn’t know you had company.” Nick muttered, scratching his neck before quickly leaving the room. Alicia and I looked at each other, a confused expression on both of our faces.
“What was that about?” I asked and she shrugged, walking out of the room. I followed closely behind her, heading up towards the deck where everyone was. “What’s going on?” I asked as they were taking out the smaller speedboat from it’s storage space.
“There’s luggage on the shore and Daniel, Chris, and I are going to go get some clothes and other supplies.” Nick mentioned, his eyes trailing down my body. “Wanna come?” He asked and I nodded my head as he held his hand out towards me. I grasped his hand as I got onto the small boat, sitting down. Nick sat down next to me, his hand resting on the small of my back as Daniel started driving the boat towards the shore.
“Are there any infected?” I asked Nick and he shook his head, rubbing my back. I gnawed on my lip as land came quickly, draping the strap of the bag over my shoulder, stepping into the water, heading towards a couple suitcases.
“Alright, make sure you guys stay in sight of me.” Daniel reassured and I nodded my head.
We spent at least ten minutes on this beach searching through countless of suitcases, finding some cute clothes for Alicia, Ofelia, and I. Nick kneeled down in front of me, smiling at me as I tossed him a pilot’s shirt. He gave me a cheeky wink while buttoning it up. I blushed, shaking my head as I continued searching through the pile of clothes.
“How do I look?” Nick asked and I looked up, eyes widening at how good he looked in it. I swallowed thickly, nodding my head as I stayed quiet. He raised his eyebrows, waiting for an answer as my lips parted.
“Y-You look great.” I whispered, smiling at him as he grinned, smoothing out the shirt. He walked off and I let out a huff of breath, closing my eyes for a few seconds. Jesus Christ, Nick. He’s killing me. A gunshot had snapped me out of my thoughts, looking around as I watched Daniel and some stranger ran down the hill, a large group of infected behind them. My breath hitched, freezing up a bit as I shoved as much stuff I could into the bag before zipping it up. Chris ran in from a different direction, heading towards the smaller boat as I did the same. I looked around for Nick, not seeing him and I yell out his name, throwing my bag into the boat before running into a direction.
The infected had be slowly trudging a few feet away from us, Daniel and the stranger running past me as I continued to yell for Nick. I turned around quickly, tripping over a suitcase and I fall onto the sand, one of the undead falling on top of me, trying to bite my face. I began to breath heavily, looking around for something sharp, but find nothing. I was about to call out for help when a knife had been lodged into the person’s brain, killing them instantly. I let out a sigh of relief, looking to my left to see Nick, doing the same. I gasp, sitting up quickly as he was covered in blood, ruining the top of his pilot shirt.
“Ni-Nick…” I stuttered, sitting on my knees in front of him, placing my hands on his bloody cheeks as his rested on my hips.
“I’m okay, I’m okay.” He muttered, leaning his forehead against mine. “C’mon, we have to go.” Nick mentioned, taking my hand in his, leading me back towards the boat, both of us getting into it as Daniel drove off towards some raft. I didn’t care where we were going, as long as Nick was okay. Once we finally got back to the Abigail, Nick led me away from the group as they argued about the new people.
We got to my room, Nick locking the door behind me as I sat down on the bed. “You should probably shower.” I mentioned and he nodded his head, heading into the bathroom, turning the water on.
“I’ll be quick, alright? Then I need to talk to you about something.” He mentions and I nod my head, giving him a small smile.
I wipe the blood off my hands and forehead, throwing the stained towel into the corner as I sighed, wondering what he wanted to talk to me about. I heard the water shut off, my foot tapping on the floor as I became more nervous. Nick walked back out, his hair damp as he sported an out of date striped shirt and a pair of khaki’s. I stood up, rubbing my sweaty hands against my jeans, standing in front of him.
“What were you thinking? Back at the beach?” He asked me, glancing down at me as my lips moved, but no sound coming out of it.
“U-Uh, I was looking for you…” I whispered, glancing down at the ground, my heart pounding against my chest.
Nick sighed, running his hands through his hair before placing one of his hands against my cheek. “Please… don’t ever do something like that again, okay?” He asked and I nodded my head, looking up at him, his eyes staring into mine. “I would go more insane than I already am if something had happened to you.”
His thumb stroked my cheekbone, making my cheeks warm up slightly. “I’m so in love with you.” I blurted out, eyes widening, covering my mouth with my hand. “I-I…” I started but Nick cut me off by leaning down, connecting our lips together.
I let out a surprised gasp, one of Nick’s hands wrapping around my waist as my eyes fluttered shut, moving my lips against his. My hand rested in the crook of his neck, tilting my head to the side as I let out a deep breath through my nose. Tingles had flowed throughout my body as Nick deepened the kiss, his mouth opening a bit. Our tongues had connected a one point, dragging my lips against his as his other hand had wrapped around my throat lightly.
Nick pulled away from me, his hand still on my neck as he stared down at me, his lips brushing against mine softly. “I’m in love with you as well. Have been for a while.” He whispered, pushing me backwards a bit, the back of my knees hitting the bed, falling back onto it. Nick hovered over me, pressing his lips onto mine again, his hand moving from my throat, moving down my body. His hand pushed up his shirt that I was wearing, his fingertips lightly trailing up my bare side. I shuddered, moaning lightly as his thumb dipped under my bra, squeezing my tit lightly.
I sat up, Nick’s eyes watching me as I slipped my t-shirt off, throwing it to the floor. His eyes glanced down at my chest before looking back up at me through his lashes. Nick leaned down, pressing a few wet kisses to my collarbone, trailing down towards my breasts. His hand reached behind me, unclipping my bra with one hand as I pushed it off, tossing it somewhere else. Nick pushed me back onto the mattress, nibbling on my soft skin before enclosing his lips around my nipple.
I yelped after feeling his teeth graze my hardened nub, gripping the sheets underneath me as I arched my back. “N-Nick…” I moaned, feeling my panties pooling with arousal. His lips left my nipple, moving towards my other one as he gave it the same attention.
“God, you have no idea how much it turns me on to hear you moan my name.” He mentioned before latching his lips to my nub. I licked my lips, tilting my head back, taking my bottom lip in between my teeth. I heard him growl lowly before trailing his lips down my stomach, ready to pull my pants off when a loud knock on the door snaps us from our daze.
I sat up quickly, glancing between Nick and the door as he got up, tossing me his shirt before heading to the door. I quickly slipped it over my head when he opened it, seeing Alicia on the other side.
“You guys mind keeping it down a bit?” She asked and I blushed, looking away as I could feel the embarrassment rush over me.
“Sorry, Alicia. Didn't think she'd be so loud.” Nick joked, glancing back at me. I groaned, shoving my face into my hands, shaking my head.
“Stop! Both of you!” I laughed, running my fingers through my hair. Alicia looked between the two of us, eyes wide.
“Oh shit, wait. I was just kidding.” She muttered and I groaned even louder, getting off the bed, walking past both Nick and Alicia. “Are you guys finally together?” I heard her ask as I jogged up the stairs, not hearing Nick’s answer.
I smiled at our group of people who were conversing at the table, heading out onto the deck of the boat, sitting against the wall, watching the water. Are we together? I asked myself, playing with the ends of my hair as I heard Nick’s faint voice calling my name. I heard footsteps coming down the small set of stairs, Nick jumping off of them, smiling down at me.
“There you are.” He grinned, sitting down next to me. Nick reached across, grabbing my hand in his as he intertwined our fingers. “I know we really didn't get to talking about it because of um, what happened, but would you… would you want to go out with me in this crazy apocalypse world?” He asked and my heart leaped from my chest, smiling widely at him.
“Of course I will, Nick.” I whispered, leaning my head against the surface as he grinned even wider, showing off those lovely pearly whites of his. He placed his hand on the side of my face, bringing them closer together as he pressed his lips to mine softly. My fingers gripped his shirt, kissing him back as I put all the love and passion I've had for him into it.
Once we pulled away I smiled, keeping my eyes shut for a few more seconds as I felt him place a small kiss to my forehead. “I love you.” He whispered. “I don't want you out of my sight. I can't lose you now that I've gotten you.” Nick muttered, pressing one last kiss to the side of my head as I leaned it against his shoulder, squeezing his hand, looking out at the ocean.
