Our relationship to sin is destructive. We think we love it, but when we find the love of Jesus & begin a relationship with Him, we find our true & forever love. #love #relationships #Jesus #saved #cross #easter #goodfriday #fruitful #gratitude #faithful
Have you ever been in a really bad relationship? Maybe you know that if you commit your life to this person it will destroy you, but you love them, or you feel trapped, or you think no one else would want you anyway, so you are torn. If you did make it out, and you found someone that loves you and makes you feel safe, someone that’s easy, and comfortable, and gives you great joy, then you know…
“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.”
—John 14:26
The Holy Spirit is a most wonderful person (yes, He is a person). You can talk to God, He is close. You can pray in Jesus' name and He also prays for you (Heb 7:25, 1Jn 2:1). But The Holy Spirit, (who also prays for you, Rom 8:26-27) is the third person in the Holy Trinity and He is someone a little different. He lives inside you all the time. He helps you, He will bring things to your memory when you need them. He gives you spiritual gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. (Isa 11:1-2) And the fruits of the spirit come from The Him: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Gal 5:22)
He is The Creator Spirit. He existed before the creation of the universe and through his power everything was made in Jesus Christ, by God the Father. He descended on Jesus like a dove and stayed with Him as His Helper. (Luke 3:22). When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us forever.
The Holy Spirit has enormous power, but more than that He is the Friend who always comforts and helps you. He gives you spiritual strength anytime you need it. The Holy Spirit is awesome. If you don't know Him yet, you only have to ask. Amen! 🙌

Have you ever noticed you’ll grab the quickest food option, regardless of its nutritional value, when you’re starving? Your stomach is growling, you’re fatigued from a long day, maybe your head is starting to ache, and the last thing you want to do is cook a well-balanced meal. You grab the chips, the cookies, or the fast-food. The quicker, the better. Maybe in the moment it feels like pure ecstasy grabbing that quick fix, but feeling sick can often follow. I have learned, if I don’t stay well fed throughout the day, I am at risk of derailing my healthy eating habits by dinner time.
What does this have to do with dating? I’m glad you asked.
When I am well fed by healthy relationships, lifestyle choices, & a healthy soul, I am more inclined to be patient and trust God. This makes healthy dating choices simple and attainable.
When I am starving in these same areas, I can feel myself becoming impatient and cynical. I start to lose focus and think God’s promises aren’t coming to pass fast enough. In those moments I begin to compromise and look for the quick fix. This makes healthy dating choices difficult and unattainable.
If you feel like God’s promises aren’t coming to pass fast enough, take a moment to assess what’s going on in your life. Before you reach for the quick fix, check in with yourself. Are you feeling well fed or are you starving?

You Need to Exercise a Little Patience and Self-Control
Developing patience and self-control is an exercise. We have to work at it. But if you will practice patiently obeying, you will see God's goodness in it. #patience #selfcontrol #fruitsofthespirit #temptation #christianity #God #why #obey #sacrifice #hard
So often, God does not tell us why He wants things done in a particular way, and He rarely let’s us know much of what the future holds. As a matter of fact, many times we only receive the information that’s needed for that particular moment. This is hard for most us, especially if God is asking us to refrain from something. Why is He holding out on us? How long will we be deprived? Why are those…

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
—2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
“The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.” —2 Timothy 1:7 (ERV)
“What does 2 Timothy 1:7 mean?” By Bibleref.com
“The opening phrase of this verse may explain why Paul dwells so much on concepts such as bravery and spiritual strength when writing to Timothy. It's possible this represented a spiritual weakness which Paul was helping Timothy to overcome. Perhaps Timothy was content in his role of serving alongside Paul and did not prefer to be the outspoken leader of a large movement of Christians. And yet, this was the role Timothy held in Ephesus at the time Paul wrote this letter. However, Paul urged Timothy to stand strong. Rather than fear, God had given a spirit or attitude of “power and love and self-control.”
“Power“ has always been an important part of God's work in the church. In the next verse, Paul notes again the "power of God." In 2 Timothy 3:5, he will speak against those who have an appearance of godliness, but deny its power.
“Love” was also vital theme for Paul (1 Corinthians 13) as well as a prominent topic in the teachings of Jesus. Self-control was a theme in 1 Timothy (1 Timothy 2:9, 15) and appears here again. Paul routinely reminded believers under his care to exhibit self-control, as part of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
Context Summary
Second Timothy 1:3–7 encourages Timothy to be brave in the face of hardships. Paul reminds Timothy that he is being prayed for, and that he comes from a family of strong faith. Paul also reassures Timothy that they are both in service of the same God, who gave them a spirit of “power and love and self-control.“
Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right.- Proverbs 20:11 #fruitsofthespirit 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.- Matthew 7:15-20 #truefaith 🔥Subscribe to my YouTube channel and podcast,👉🏾"Uplift Past Crossroads"👈🏾🔥 Befriend me on Facebook/LinkedIn = Sean Christopher Jenkins 🔥Follow👉🏾@troubledontlast 👈🏾IG/Twitter/Snap for more🔥 Turn on Post Notification - Like - Comment - Share - Save #repost @resident_intheheart_of_jesus ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ . .
