"Service dogs are not robots." ~every handler ever ~~~~~ This was a rough weekend for no particular reason at all. Service dogs are just simply not robots and have off days just like humans. It's easy to forget how many successes we've had recently after just a couple of rough days. I alerted my human to her meds at home, but was getting lazy and not continuing to alert until she actually took her meds. In public, I was almost too distracted to alert at all and whining when I get bored. I was still very attentive to my human's needs when she into some pretty bad coughing fits. Just gotta remember that a couple of rough days don't diminish all the good days and the health & independence I give my human.
