“Stay put, Voider,” ordered a man in a rough voice.

Eddie’s senses were heightened. He struggled against the restrains on his hands and feet, but the knots were tight. Camp of Voiders, he thought.

The man moved around the room, his steps resonating against the walls. This couldn’t be on the surface. He was underground. Somewhere underground.

Buck.

“Where is he?” Eddie asked, trying to force his wrists apart. “Where is he!”

ppl who want sokka and suki to break up baffle me. they make each other so happy. sokka is miserable most of the time, but the second they get suki back from the boiling rock he is so happy, just to be near her. they work so well together. they make each other laugh, they have great chemistry, they save each other, support each other, get each other; they just fit. i get that conflict makes for good stories, and that they are a very uncomplicated couple. but sokka is such a tortured soul. why would you take away the one straightforwardly good thing he has in his life? why can’t we just let them have this one perfect happiness?

I am not, apparently, immune to coupons for niche nonfiction that's directly up my alley (octopus minds and RUSSIAN OWLS, hello??? Thanks, bookshop!).

I thought perhaps the BURGLAR'S GUIDE would also be covered under said coupon, since it was publisher-specific (alas: it was Not, but we might as well bundle for shipping purposes). And then while I was shopping IRL for gifties I found a copy of ROOM, which has been on my list for...ever? So! Hopefully these will hold me over on the nonfiction front for a minute!
