Kanda: No, it's the question and the answer is yes

There is a part of me that wants to rope friends of mine into a D.GrayMan singing group. But I can't decide if we'd be doing Team Tiedoll or my group D-KAL (Daisya, Kanda, Allen, Lavi)

In my modern AU this is exactly how questioning a suspect would pan out.
Tiedoll would be good cop and Cross would be the bad cop either trying to seduce the suspect or getting some free drugs.

Summary:
Allen Walker is the new kid at school, but that's nothing new, he's always the new kid with how often he moves around. This time it seems like he and his guardian, Cross, may be sticking around in America for a while, so at the very least he would like to make some new friends.
Kanda Yu, still dealing with the loss of his ex-boyfriend, Alma, a year later, as well as his brother's recent passing, has zero interest in getting to know the new kid. He doesn't give a shit, seemingly about anything anymore, actually.
What starts off as a bitter rivalry soon blossoms into something more over time. Perhaps instead of fighting with each other, Allen and Kanda can learn to help each other through their own trauma.
