Has the world of Kochab been influenced by any legends beyond just “Ifrit is a fire spirit”?

the overall story arc was originally a take on Sleeping Beauty. :’) When I started writing, around the same time I also had a school assignment to do some vis dev art inspired the Aladdin fairytale, so that had a little influence. I also really liked The Firebird, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, Hans Christian Andersen’s Snow Queen, A Promise Is A Promise, and fairytale-inspired work - like soviet animations The Humpbacked Horse (1947), The Fox and the Hare (1973), Hedgehog in the Fog (1975), and fairytale illustrators Vera Pavlova, Fritz Baumgarten, Ivan Bilibin, John Bauer, Arthur Rackam, Edmund Dulac. A lot of the webcomics I was reading & inspired by at the time also had a kind of fairytale tone to them.

Kulturtechnikforschung, die Bild- und Rechtswissenschaft ist, nennt man in anderen Ländern Jurisprudenz: Wissenschaft einer klugen ars oder Technik, zu der Alexander Kluge ebenso kanonisch arbeitet wie Fritz Bauer, Anna Katharina Mangold wie Marie-Theres Fögen - um nur vier Beispiele aus einem Haufen kanonischer Arbeiterinnen und Arbeiter zu nennen. Es ist die Technik der Gutmachung, Vergütung oder Veredelung sowie des Passenden und Passierenden, die in manchen Ländern ius genannt und auf veraltete und abgestorbene Begriffe wie bonum und aequitas bezogen wird. Ihr Strukturprinzip ist Haufenbildung, ihre Methoden archäologisch und sie begreift die Höhe der Zeit, der man zum Beispiel den Namen Moderne oder sogar Gegenwart gibt, als Oberfläche, aus Tiefe.

Um in dem Feld zu arbeiten, sollte man in drei Techniken und einem Verfahren ausgebildet werden. Die Techniken heißen Scheiden, Schichten, Mustern (sie operationalisieren Differenz und sind insoweit elementare, normative und formatierende Operationen). Das Verfahren liegt darin, alles (was immer es sei) sowohl wörtlich als auch bildlich und damit sowohl für sich als auch für etwas völlig anderes stehend zu begreifen. Ausbildungsdauer: 30 Jahre. whaaat?? was that the nanny's fault?

Okay so this ask is referring to my post about Prince Friedrich “Frittie” of Hesse and By Rhine’s death by falling 20 feet out of a window and having a cerebral hemorrhage because of that fall. The story is that when Prince Ernst Louis of Hesse (later Grand Duke), his younger brother Frittie, and their mother Princess Alice of Hesse (née United Kingdom) were playing in their mother’s room and Ernie ran into another room and looked out of the window to Frittie. The rooms were at an angle where both people could see each other when looking out of the windows. Alice went into the room that Ernie was in to bring him back into the bedroom to keep playing. Frittie wanted to join Ernie so he climbed onto a chair but it tipped over sending him falling from the 20 foot high window

Frittie’s death was so tragic and shocking and broke many of his family members hearts. His mother was so distraught that she often prayed at his grave.

On coming home, found a telegram from Fräulein Bauer saying: “Pce Fritz has fallen out of the window, no wounds, but he is unconscious, & the Princess is in the greatest anxiety.” Dreadfully shocked & alarmed. Telegraphed at once to dear Alice & Fräulein Bauer, asking to hear again, & when we were at luncheon I telegraphed to Fanny Baillie for details, as to how the accident happened. Alas! before this was sent off I got a telegram from Pss Charles of Hesse saying “Poor Fritz just expired.” That was after 1. Too, too dreadful, my poor darling Alice! This was such a pretty sweet boy on whom poor dear Alice doted. His health had often caused his parents great anxiety.

But the precious child does not — that is a comfort. He is happy and at rest, whilst we grieve and mourn. Ernie always prays for Frittie, and talks to me of him when we walk together.”

(Photo: Alice and her children mourning Frittie, 1873) Alice was a very hands on mother and she wanted to bring up her children in a loving environment and very much wanted to be an active mother in her children’s lives. To answer your question, the Nanny was probably tending to another child at this time (probably Princess Alix who was only 1 year old).

Watching a German film about Fritz Bauer and the copy I got has English subtitles which I have on for some reason, and they just translated „Mahlzeit!“ into „Bon appétit “ and English really needs set phrases to wish each other before eating bc this is just sad on so many levels
