FNF Headcanons: Senpai's Game

Here are my headcanons surrounding and expanding upon the game that Week 6 takes place in. More to (likely) be added in the future.

Behind the Game

The game's name is NOT "Hating Simulator", that's just the week name. The game's actual name is "Sakura Days".

The game was made by the Japanese game studio "Exitheart", a small studio founded in the mid-to-late 90's. Sakura Days was their attempt at making a dating sim game, which were becoming quite popular in the market at the time.

Released in 2003, it sold well in Japan, and got above-average review scores. Unfortunately didn't sell as well in the states, not poorly, but it didn't get as much traction as it did in Japan.

Exitheart unfortunately doesn't exist anymore in current day, it was bought out and merged with a larger game company.

Amber (Girlfriend) was given the game as a birthday present when she turned 13. Years later she gave the copy to Blaze after the latter's respective week, which is how she and Kenji met.

About the game

The game features six characters, three guys, three girls. At the start of the game, the player chooses one of them to play as. Each of them have are themed with a flower and color.

The three guys are Kenji Sakubara (aka "Senpai"), Satoru Murasaki, and Makoto Himawari . Themed with pink and roses, purple and violets, and yellow and sunflowers respectfully.

The three girls are. Naomi Suzuran (aka "Kohai"), Akane Tsubaki, and Midori Kikumori Themed with blue and lilies, red and camellias, and green and chrysanthemums respectfully.

Kenji and Naomi are the default characters, and the ones that were featured the most on the marketing for the game.

The background girls also have names! Being Ayame (the brown haired girl with the ponytail) and Kaede (the girl with short black hair). They show up in the background of cutscenes and the Music Club minigame (more on that below). They are also your rival's teammates in the soccer minigame (see below).

For a brief description of personalities. Kenji is the romantic gentleman, Satoru is the bookish stoic, Makoto is the excitable fun-lover, Naomi is the shy and reserved creative, Akane is the rough-and-tumble tomboy, and Midori is the gentle motherly figure.

The game takes place mainly in the school, known simply as "Sakura Academy"

The premise is pretty simple: The school's spring festival is coming up and you want to get a date for it. You have 15 days (30 days if you pick "semester" mode) to woo the girl/guy of your choice before your rival can.

The Gameplay

Upon starting the game, you have a choice to pick if you'll be playing as a boy or a girl. If a boy you can choose either Kenji, Satoru, or Makoto. If a girl you can choose either Naomi, Akane, or Midori. After which you pick the crush you want to pursue.

Datable options are (sadly) gender-locked (ex: Kenji can only date Naomi, Akane, or Midori). The one of the two character options you didn't choose become your rival (ex: Picking Naomi makes Akane or Midori your rival.).

You also pick how long your want your session to be. Either "quarter" mode, which gives you 15 days before the festival. Or "semester" mode, which gives you 30 days before the festival. This affects the amount of points you get for the affection meter (see below).

The game, while mostly being a dating sim, also has a competitive minigame angle to it. The goal, as stated above, is to get the guy or girl you picked for your crush to agree to be your date for the school's Spring festival.

This is done by three ways. One is by talking to them, the second is by getting them gifts, and the third is to do minigames to impress them. Doing these increases the affection meter for the character you do these to/for. In order to win, you must have the bar higher than your rivals before the day of the festival. The meter must also be at at least 65% or higher in order to win.

However it is possible to lose affection meter points. Such as making wrong dialogue choices, giving your date their disliked gift, or losing the minigames. Your rivals can lose points as well.

Each day, you have a set amount of "stamina" to spend, you spend it by talking to characters, playing minigames, or working, which gets you money to spend on gifts at the school's store. Once you run out of stamina you can't do anything else and must return to your home and sleep. Sleeping ends the day, transitioning to the next one. Your rival's points will be counted once you go to sleep, allowing you to spend the next day catching up.

You can only do one minigame per day, and give only one gift per-day.

There are six minigames, presented as "clubs". These are Music, Science, Tennis, Art, Soccer, and Cooking. All six characters has a favorite club, doing them and winning will grant you a small bonus to points gained for the affection meter. However losing the minigame will also make you lose a few more points than with any other minigame.

As for how each minigame plays...

Music: Plays just like how it is in Week 6, a rhythm game where you hit the d-pad in tandem with the arrow notes. This club is Kenji's favorite.

Science: Trivia game. Answer the questions right to earn points, the player with the most amount of points by the end of the minigame wins. This club is Satoru's favorite.

Tennis: Plays pretty much like Mario Tennis. Hit the ball and try to get your rival to miss it to earn points. The one to hit 5 points first wins. This club is Makoto's favorite.

Art: Button combo minigame. Hit the buttons in the combo shown to create paintings as fast as you can within the time limit. The one with the most paintings is the winner. This club is Naomi's favorite.

Soccer: Get the ball into your rival team's goal to earn points. The team with the most points after 3 minutes wins. Both teams have 2 team mates, your teammates are the characters you didn't pick for your date (Ex: Picking Naomi, then picking Kenji for your date would make your teammates Satoru and Makoto.) while your rivals teamates are Ayame and Kaede. This club is Akane's favorite.

Cooking: Plays similarly to Cooking Mama mixed with Warioware. You must complete a series of microgames to make your dish before your rival finishes theirs. Microgames include chopping, frying/sauteing, mixing, baking, and boiling. This club is Midori's favorite.

Once all 15/30 days are up, the festival will begin. In which you confess to your crush that you love them. If the affection meter is at 65% or higher and it's higher than your rival's, then you win. If it's less than 65%, then you are rejected, thus you lose. If your rival's meter is higher than yours, you find that your rival has already confessed, and thus you lose.

Other Stuff/Mod and AU Stuff

Minus: Sakura Days is an RPG in the Minus universe known as "Secret of Sakura". Kenji is the main protagonist and a swordsman while the rest are his party members (Satoru being a mage, Makoto being a ranger, Naomi being a bard, Akane being a rogue, and Midori being a healer).

D-Side: Sakura Days is a fighting game in the D-Sides universe known as "A FUCKING FIGHTING GAME" (yes, that is what it's called canonically). Sensei is a martial arts teacher (rest TBA).

May I request headcannons on being Tabi’s younger sibling who was also cursed, but doesn’t hold a grudge against GF and her family for cursing them and Tabi?

Okay, alright, I’m finally getting to this, I’m so sorry for the long longggg wait. Also here is the link to the art of what you/the sibling looks like, that I posted a while back!

Tabi’s Younger Sibling

One thing that comes with being the younger sibling of Tabi, is that he often doesn’t listen to you

Especially when it comes to his Ex

Often times you’d both get into small arguments over what her family did

Compared to Tabi the look was actually something you were fine with

You actually get along with GF even after what happened

This is much to Tabi’s distaste 

Another thing that comes with being his sibling is him constantly asking who your dating, or hanging with

Because of what happened he became extremely protective over you

Not wanting anything like this happening to you

More than it already has seeing as your cursed as well because of him, or so he blames himself for

You both get along lovingly as long as you don’t bring GF up

Or well. Have a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner he doesn’t approve of

If you do you might not see them again ((he would actively try to scare them off not hurt them, yet))

Which brings up if you get hurt.

Oh are they in a world of pain

“Y/N why are you crying?- THEY WHAT!?”

Angry brother mode activated. If you don’t want them dead then it’d be your best interest to calm him down

As soon as possible.

Once calmed he’d opt to comfort you and help you first before running off

Learning from his own past mistakes of chasing

Though he’d still need some prompting

But he’d stay with you and bring you things you need, as well as tell you how amazing you are without the bastard that left you like this

All in all he is a little overbearing brother but generally loving and protecting over you as a sibling.

Okay finally! I got this done! I’m so so sorry this took a literal year or so to finish. I generally fell out of Friday Night Funkin and my writing motivation vanished with it. I got an idea, how about about something about how the Poképasta trainers & Pokémon from FNF Lullaby deal with a spunky and energetic reader (who is also a Poképasta trainer that specializes in ghost and psychic type Pokémon)? Obviously, everything’s platonic.

Sure! But I'll be doing just 5 characters bc that’s my limit. I can’t fit every single one in this. sorry

Also to give this Pokepasta!Reader a backstory, they’re a soul who was trapped in the Pokémon Black (creepypasta) bootleg with Ghost as their starter, after Red died in that game. And after many "resets" of the game, they learn to tame Ghost’s murderous antics (and also learn he can’t harm pokepastas).

Grey

He’s immediately taken aback, expecting you to be this scary ahh ghost/psychic trainer. It doesn’t help when he’s absolutely terrified of Ghost lingering behind you.

But you reassure him he’s friendly, catching him off-guard with your laugh.

You’re the total opposite of the Pokémon you train. Ghost and psychic-types are meant to be intimidating, alluring, and mysterious...but you break the stereotypes with your energetic personality.

If you have a Hypno or Drowsee in your party, Shinto would be besties with them fr.

And when you see her you’re like “wow that must be a rare species with no fur collar and a short stature!! Where’s her pendulum?”

Grey can’t convince you of her true nature, so he just plays along. You're actually pretty cool.

Silver (Insomnia) 

Your Pokémon aren’t scared by his muffled wailing, and with most of them knowing the move Hypnosis, Feralisleep waking up isn’t a problem.

Even if he did, he’d be too scared to attack anyways thanks to Ghost.

So basically becoming friends with Silver is, in fact, possible.

Of course that takes time given his inability to verbally communicate, but he seems impressed by your strong Pokémon.

Sometimes your energy gets to be overwhelming and he’ll gesture for you to be quiet (mostly bc he doesn’t want his starter to wake up and frighten you away). So you learn to be calmer around the two.

You learn that he hardly ever sleeps, due to his need to watch Feralisleep and his insomnia from nightmares whenever he tries to sleep.

But if you have a Munna on your team, you could absolutely help him with that.

Steven

At first his blood goes cold when he sees Ghost bc “isn’t that part of the missing one???” He still has some regrets from using it.

You, however, reassure him this one’s completely different. Plus, you’ve seen Missingno back in your game and knew very well what it was capable of.

After that, Steven calms down, but he still stares at Ghost every once in a while. Clearly he’s unnerved by him, so you show off your other Pokémon to distract him.

Your energy reminds him of Mike’s, but he doesn’t mind you hanging out with him. He became like a dad to you, as he did with Gold and Grey.

One day you see “Miki” and immediately know how she was brought back, though you can understand Steven’s desperation, having lost her in an accident.

The thing with ghost-types is that they’re already dead, in a way, so you didn’t have to fear losing them. But you take good care of the psychic-types on your team, of course. Steven made sure you did.

Glitchy Red

When you first meet him in Glitch City, he was ready to snap your neck at a moment’s notice.

He thought you were one of those NPC trainers until he notices Ghost, and you weren't a blank slate spewing the same dialogue.

You’re just happy seeing Red alive (even if he’s from another game), and you explain where you came from to him, showing him all your Pokémon.

Considering that all the other pokepastas he met seem miserable, he wonders why you’re not the same.

Where’s your anger?? Your rage??? Do you not have any vengeance in your heart????

He’d ask you this, but decides to drop it after seeing you praise your Haunter for their scariest Mean Look.

For a self-aware ghost/psychic trainer, you’re quite cheery.

Buried Alive

You meet Bury while training atop Pokémon Tower, wanting to find a quieter place so the visitors floors below can pay their respects in peace.

Immediately he thinks of you as fresh meat--ripe for the taking--but then notices you also have a Gengar on your team.

Then he brings his out like “same hat!!!!” and the two actually become friends.

They don’t wanna fight, but Bury’s hunger grows stronger the longer you stay near him, so you find some meat for him so he didn’t get those cravings around you.

Since he’s a zombie spirit attached to the tower, he can’t leave, but you’ll visit him every time you return to continue training.

You’re the first human that became his friend.

Void Relationship Headcanons!

(slight mentions of sex but nothing too explicit. yet ;D)

- never misses an opportunity to show you off and brag about you, he may be up his own ass everyday and arrogant as all hell but you unintentionally humbled him bad.

- buys you so many gifts to express his love for you, and you end up feeling both happy he got you said gifts but also very guilty because you can never do the same for him. he doesn’t ask for much in return, aside from maybe a few kisses <3

- being void’s significant other also means that you get along with the accretions because they’re essentially your bodyguards too. they both know that you mean a lot to void, and he himself knows this too, and void always insists that the accretions go out with you whenever you need to run errands or even when you just go out. if this annoys you, he’ll stop this, but he wants you to let him know if you’re ok.

- he’s both very jealous and possessive but also very confident and secure in your relationship? it’s weird and it all just depends on his mood.

- he’s such a flirty bastard, he’s always trying to seduce you in some way, whether it be through his (actually pretty effective) pickup lines, or just picking you up, carrying you on his shoulder and taking you away so you guys can make out.

- making out usually leads to you guys having sex, and unfortunately, the accretions have caught you guys banging multiple times. they’re both traumatized, they already don’t get paid enough and now this??

- when you guys first met, he thought you were attractive, but he thought nothing else of it. when he really got to know you, he started realizing that he wanted to spend more time with you, and he wanted to hold you, comfort you, kiss you, he didn’t know he was falling in love with you, but when he did, he sat there stunned for about 30 minutes.

- void loves sweet, tender cuddles with you. hell, he likes any sort of physical affection with you, but hand-holding easily makes him the most flustered.

- he loves messing with you and annoying you, but in a way where he knows you’ll laugh, even when you hear him say some of the random, out of nowhere shit ever.

- he’s not afraid to call anybody out on their bullshit, if they insult you, he’s ready to absolutely humiliate them and even hurt them if necessary.

- he purrs?? nobody knows about this besides you but he purrs whenever you stroke his hair, it’s actually pretty cute..

- he won’t admit it out loud, and neither will anybody else, but this man is WHIPPED for you. you managed to make THE A.C. Void a whole mess for you without even trying. all in all, a very smug and cocky boyfriend, as expected, but hot damn, there’s never a moment in the day where he’s not thinking of you anymore. he’s like putty in your arms, just don’t tell anybody about that, ok?

Oooh! Fnf hypno huh? Can I request headcanons of Lost silver fnf befriending a Child Y/N who somehow got teleported in the game and is a huge horror fan headcanons?I can just imagine the surprise of meeting a child who actually likes blood and horror and isn’t scared by your appearance-

Growing up, you were always a sucker for horror. You liked watching movies and playing games with a lot of blood in them--it was never a problem for you.

As much as your peers might’ve been concerned, you’re doing fine, actually. You just like scary stuff. Plain and simple.

That being said, you also liked creepypastas and knew several from the Pokemon franchise.

On Halloween, you hoped to spend it trying out a horror mod for a rhythm game.

However your computer was acting rather odd while trying to boot the game up--and it suddenly crashed, but instead of the usual restart screen it glowed with an eerie light you were tempted to touch-

And it sucked you into the game itself somehow.

You wake up in a void and that’s when you meet the person from the infamous “Lost Silver” story.

A very much dead and dismembered Gold.

After the initial shock of being inside the game passes, you approach him, curious.

His usual frown twists into a look of surprise upon seeing you rather than Boyfriend. And he realized you didn’t belong here. He was scared.

So he screamed, his facial features stretching in such a way that would’ve surely terrified you.

But...it doesn’t.

You’re like “woah!! You can do that????” with such an awestruck look.

Immediately Gold is confused, and the ? Unowns end up surrounding him. Though you understand what he means.

“You don't scare me. I think you're pretty cool honestly.” You reassure him, though you see him turn away, on the verge of crying bc he thinks you don't mean that.

You caught him on a bad day. He tried befriending a young Pokémon trainer and they ran away screaming at his appearance...so it's hard for him to believe you. He's been sulking in this void ever since.

“Stop lying...” He rasps heartbrokenly.

But then he feels your comforting hand on his shoulder.

“I'm not lying. I'm not afraid of you, Gold.”

“...you should be.”  Turning his head slowly, you see him crying bloody tears, glowing red dots in his sockets, and his mouth stretched unnaturally long. You swore his heart was somehow visible in his throat.

Though all you did was smile. “C’mon, it takes more than that to scare me off.” You chuckle.

Finally convinced, he fixes his looks just as Celebi appears to use Perish Song. But Gold stops it, considering you a friend.

You thank him for that before explaining your situation.

Long story short, you spend a while in the game as your PC in the real world takes its time rebooting.

But until then, you kept Gold company, getting him to smile more and more outside the void.

He's just happy there’s a kid his age in another world who doesn’t fear him.
