What do you call placing yourself in a position that aligns with your goals? Well AI calls it “Strategic”. You’re being strategic when you place yourself in an environment where the kind of men you want to date frequent.

I’ve seen videos on TikTok saying how it is “desperate” to go to upscale restaurants, bars, lounges and coffee shops in upscale neighborhoods with the intention of meeting a man. When in reality it is the smartest thing you can do to take control of your love life. When people say things like “love will find you when you least expect it”. Can the same be said for a job that you want? Is it desperate to apply for jobs better yet should the employer just hire a random person they found on the street? It doesn’t work that way sweetie. This often will be said by people who are already in long term relationships or who want you to stay single or settle or want you to buy their course.

Place yourself in an environment to be found by the kind of man that you want. That is the best way to get what you want. Do your research. Use google to find out the information that you want to know.

1. Only go to places that you would want to be taken on a date to. Don’t go anywhere that you don’t like.

2. Order a single non alcoholic drink and if you get hungry order an appetizer, side or dessert. It will be very cheap. Or just wait until a man comes over and offers to buy you a drink and then order whatever food that you want since he is paying.

3. Be open, friendly and smile. Don’t forget to make eye contact.

How else do you expect to get the life that you want if you don’t place yourself in a position to receive it?

Free-styling

I picked up some BOMB free-styling lessons this morning! It was less about what to do or say when you freestyle and more about how to maneuver/behave. It was so insightful. Here’s what I learned…

First, this goes without saying but its super important. When you go out to a hotel bar, you have to feel comfortable and confident enough to ask men for money. Some of them will shame you about asking for money even AFTER they’ve asked you for sex. Be comfortable enough to ask for what you want.

Do not give every man at the bar your attention. If someone doesn’t come correct or doesn’t look like they’re worthy of your attention, politely brush them off. Because other men at the bar will be paying attention to who you are giving your attention to. If you’re getting lots of attention from guys, don’t give all them your attention - only a very select few. This will raise your worth and eventually someone will step to you correct.

Do not solicit to men who talk too loudly.

Hit up hotels that are known for hosting business conferences! Come dressed to blend in.

If you want to freestyle while you’re on a date with another man, you have to be super discreet and smart about it. The sex worker I was listening to this morning said that when she goes out to a restaurant with a guy, she’s very physically affectionate with him if there are other guys around. Other men that have already noticed you will be jealous and wishful for your attention. So, here’s how I would personally approach this situation: if you spot a guy that clearly wants you, look for opportunities to slip him your number. For instance, once your date goes to the restroom, approach the bartender with a CASH tip and your business card and ask them to slip your info to the guy at the bar that’s been staring at you the entire night. I mean, the guy should look like he can afford you. Don’t just give your number to anyone.

All these tips I picked up got me so amped to try them out, get out of my shell, and take another crack at free-styling! But I also learned that free-styling isn’t suitable for everyone. I’m not talking about the mental/emotional skills needed to free-style, but the fact that these environments are easier to blend to into for some more than others.

Women of color have to be particularly careful because the world typically thinks the worst of us. Additionally, the more l conventionally attractive you are, the easier it is to blend in and not garner the wrong kind of attention.

Freestyling story

My friend and I went freestyling Saturday night. We went to 3 different locations in the top upscale areas of our city. The 1st one was dead so we left, the 2nd one was promising because their was a lot of people and we got so many stares but it was mostly couples. People were basically wondering why two young girls were there and not at some club event

It turns out young people don’t really go to upscale restaurants very often so we were the only 2 young girls. The bartender didn’t know if we were 21 or not. He asked us how old we are but he didn’t ID us. We also didn’t have to pay for valet. I overheard a sleazy man tell his friend “ok pick, the ones on the left or the ones on the right. My friend and I were on the right and on the left were 2 older women. Mind you his wife just went to the bathroom and he started plotting right away. He was pretty gross but little did he know we would of ran his pockets. I heard him say he was curious about us but they couldn’t work up the courage to speak to us so they tried speaking to the older ladies then his wife came back. He wouldn’t stop looking our way tho, especially when we were leaving he was basically breaking his neck.

The 3rd location was packed and it was a very trendy social bar with a mix of young and older people. My friend scored, she went up to the bar to get a glass of wine and right next to her was a man drinking wine and he turned out to be a wealthy man owning multiple properties, the one in town was worth 3 million when he bought it and he travels very frequently. I had to leave because I had work in the morning but it was a very interesting experience.

Next time I am going to go out alone back to the 2nd location maybe even the 3rd. Going out alone is only scary until you find someone to talk to. The best part about freestyling is that you look like prey when you are really the predator. Being a young girl surrounded by older people they wonder why you are there which means they’ll be talking about you. I think the key is to be placed next to a man who is by himself. 9/10 you will score. I will update you on Thursday.

After going out last night and seeing that finding and making friends is a numbers game, I feel a little more inspired to go out and “freestyle”. You really have to keep putting yourself out there.

Now, it wouldn’t be true “freestyling” as I’m not bold enough yet to proposition a stranger. However, I have more confidence in meeting and talking with men I’ve never met.

I have had some really difficult experiences in the past with men talking down on me because I’m a black woman. Those are the experiences that have kept me from free styling. But I’m kind of ready to get back up on the horse again.

There are some restaurants I would never visit again. For instance, one restaurant bar had regulars who were kind of young and basically went because they used to work at the restaurant. At another restaurant bar, it was mainly a middle class after work crowd, with a smattering of older drunk white women… That actually covers the extent of my free-styling at restaurant bars.

I’m not going to do hotel bars because black women are scrutinized more. I’d draw too much attention to myself just by being dark skinned.

Anyway, I’ll figure this out.
