I need a whole other mini series because Isabella gagged me??
I need to know more about her twisted past. How many times has she done this? Cause there's no way Lisa was the first.
What was her original plan? To kıll Megan? Or just to get her alone so they can be best friends forever?
How old is she? What's her real name?
Is Megan gonna turn her in? I feel like she can't cause then the police will know she hacked their software??
Season 1 had the big twist but it still felt like there was closure because we knew that Jeanette was taking it to the grave and nobody else knew. But we have no idea what Megan will do with this information. I know she's selfish and wants to save herself but seeing how Brent saved her ass, letting him take the fall for this is a bit fucked. But at the same time Brent should've been in jail already for the tapes so he's doing his time one way or another. Steve will be rotting regardless for his little cover up.

in the first season of cruel summer the changes in appearance between each time period totally made sense and in the new season it's just like "oh well isabella is gonna always have her hair pulled back so you know we're in the year 2000" it's so funny to me

Cruel Summer Season 2 Finale Theory
Luke’s mom is alive.
She knew what kind of guy her husband was and knew the only way to get out of the marriage was to die. (She could’ve brought up divorce to Steve before and he didn’t want that because it would ruin his perfect image or threatened to kill her if she left.)
The guy in the woods and the sheriff helped fake her death. Ned created a new identify for her with his coding and the sheriff was on the scene of the accident.
She’s been living in either:
Ned’s house. Explains why his place has so much security. Sheriff knows she’s there and was coming to visit her that day he found Megan and Lexi in his house. Could be in a relationship.
Moved to Lexi’s hometown and is friends with either her parents or Lexi’s lawyer
Luke was in the car during the accident and could’ve known at the time what happened or the memory came back to him when he was drugged on NYE.
After Luke escaped he called his mom and/or the sheriff for help to get away from his father just like her mom.

how are you gonna create a show and leave the first season off on such an intense cliffhanger, and then give us a s2 with a whole new cast and characters without resolving any of the millions of unanswered questions from s1????

Cruel Summer season 2 is confusing me. Spoilers under the cut
Why would the tape cause Isabella to get suspended, or Megan to lose her scholarship if ppl found out it was her? This is 1999, the Internet is not what it is today, so the only people who saw it were at the Christmas party. I mean the generic answer is misogyny but why does it matter so much???

Debbie should've kılled Luke instead of Isabella, that would've been more entertaining and shocking.
Like omg the crazy girl was crazy? It's not surprising.
Debbie had stated multiple times that she would do anything for Megan, and she's found out about her secrets all throughout the season. She could've found out about what Luke did to her and how she and Isabella took him to the cabin that night, and gone back to show him not to mess with Megan.
She originally goes to scold him or tell him to stay away from Megan, but when she sees him washed up, barely alive as it is, she decides to just finish him off. That'll show him not to hurt her daughter.
Also it gives her something more exciting to do than just completely disappearing in the last episode? It gives her more layers. Maybe she wasn't even sick in the first place? She just knew that nobody would suspect an ill woman as the killer. But at the same time she had to ensure that Megan doesn't take the fall for it either, leading it back to wanting to frame Isabella, like Steve.
Idk I just feel like it would've been a more mind-blowing ending, leave something to really think about. And it adds more to the narrative.
I get that they probably wanted it to be like season 1, where they lay it all out there in plain sight, but make you think you're wrong until the very last moment where the obvious thing was true all along. It was obvious Jeanette was a creep but the last episode makes you think that she would'nt stoop that low after all, until it's revealed that she really did know Jeanette was in Martin's basement. They tell you this all season, but make it just feel too obvious to be true. Just like how it's obvious something about Isabella is very off. She's a key suspect in Luke's murder but again, you feel like it's too obvious to be true. It would've been interesting to explore what would happen if it really wasn't.

Random CRUEL SUMMER Thoughts after 2x06...
It is interesting, despite all that "Megan & Luke are endgame" chatter, that Luke does seem to still have feelings for Isabella judging how he was acting in ep 2x06 before the lie.
Isabella finally admitted to Luke that she broke up with him because she found out Megan liked him and that her liked her too and they were destined to be together. Luke did not seem elated nor like he agreed with her. IMO I think Luke did have some feelings for Megan plus they’d been lifelong buddies but I don’t think he saw it as the endgame Isabella claimed it was... especially seeing as how he wasn’t totally over Isabella..
Isabella is a harder read cause even if she did have any feelings for Luke, she'd put Megan's feelings before her own. And Megan has yet to reciprocate true loyalty with Isabella. All Megan gives Isabella is jealousy, suspicion, and petulance.
