First Class AU, Erik raising Peter

Obliviously was not impressed by Raven's codename of 'Magneto'. However, Peter was there and he really liked the name for his Dad. So afterwards as Erik and Charles are preparing for their trip to the Soviet Union, taking having a bit of down time. Peter comes in and sits between them calls Erik: 'Dadneto.' Instantly, Erik Adores the name. And Peter calls Charles 'Professor Dad' Charles goes like 'I am not an old frat!' Laugh a bit. All Erik is thinking is that Charles has made such impression on his sohn that Peter sees him as a second father to him; it impresses Erik. Erik gives him a slap on the shoulder and gives a playful smile telepathy sends out that he's helped out so much and it means a lot; he doesn't have to worry as much.

What kind of MCU do you think we would've had if FOX didn't have the rights to cinematic X-Men for so many years? 🤔

Would we still have the Avenger ensemble films we have today, just with some mutants spread about? Or would the entire MCU library as we know it not exist, but be 100% completely different films?

If I could travel the multiverse to get these answers, that'd be so cool lol

Having the weird feeling that Netflix will now use the opportunity to drop The Old Guard 2 without any major promo and then cancel the whole universe, because „It didn’t had enough viewers“

I was here before: when Disney drop New Mutants - FOX last X men movie with MAJOR LGBTQ representation in an international action movie - in the middle of a fucking PANDEMIC. And then said: look the movie was a major flop. Good thing we cancelled the x men universe and bought fox“

And MCU Stan’s even picked up that explanation and till today I have to listen to MCU dudebros saying; „FOX obviously didn’t knew what to do with the x men movies. Good thing Disney bought them. Look what FOX did to Dark Phoenix and New Mutants.“

And IF Netflix does the same with TOG 2 I will throw hands with them!

I am propably reaching but mutants being left to wear their costumes in the X-men movies could imo be linked to how queerness was seen and treated through the years.

In the first couple movies you got these dark leather "biker gear" looking outfits, basicly saying "sure you can exist, but keep it lowkey, don't express yourself too freely and openly".

Then comes first class and the team gets more color but it's the same outfit for all of them exept for small changes to fit the wearers needs. Kinda a "you can exist, be open but don't make it too complicated to not overwhelm us."

By Apocalypse we see them get more comic accurate suits, with personal touches and unique designs, they're able to be freely themselves and express who they are.

In Dark Phoenix we see a step backwards into the utilitarian muted looks, like queer people had to step back over rising controversies and pushbacks.

Now with Wolverine in 2023 i'd call this the "fuck you, we are here and we WILL show ourselves and be true to ourselves even if it makes you angry and uncomfortable" with accurate suits, bright colors (some might even say too bright) and a fair amount of camp. Whitch works perfectly i think for the current times where queer people are starting to loose rights and the amount of hate (especialy for a specifc part of the comunity) being on the rise.

Again i am propably and most likely reaching, but it makes sense in my head.

I can't be the only one a little sad that the MCU refuses to acknowledge the X-Men movies in any substantial way, right?

Like they reference Quicksilver but it's a dumb throwaway gag. They have Charles in DSMOM but it's the "animated" one from the 90s series, and the only references to the X-Men movies is that they're both played by Patrick Stewart and that line "Just because someone stumbles, loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever." (That line worked way better in DOFP when he inspired himself, it was just a cheap reference and Easter egg in these movies)

Even now, I love Kamala Khan and I think this is one of the only recent series from the MCU that I've liked. But they make her a mutant and signify this with the X-Men 90s animated theme song yet AGAIN, after doing so in DSMOM with Charles. Why doesn't Kevin Feige want to use the X-Men movies? He helped work on them after all.

It just bugs me because without those movies and the Raimi movies you wouldn't have gotten the MCU. It brought superhero stuff into the general public. Even Raimi Spider-Man is technically MCU stuff now too, so why can't they just make the X-Men another universe?

And before anyone comes at me and tells me that those movies were shitty, I personally feel like there was a lot more heart in these then the current state of the MCU. I feel like it's a purposeful thing so people won't compare the MCU line up to the X-Men. I also think because the X-Men are so popular they want to reboot them, which is fine, I just don't understand the antagonistic approach to the movies that really set the stage here. I miss the Fox movies and I hope they get their due credit someday.

I feel like Neil would really enjoy helping the other foxes with their math homework or just math classes in general. Maybe it’s because they’ve given him a place on their team and him helping them with math is a small way he tries to pay them back. The only exceptions to this would be Aaron and maybe Kevin. Im not sure if y’all have even had the experience of someone trying to help you with math at the dinner table (specifically your father or other parental figure), but I feel like Neil helping Aaron and Kevin would end up like that.
