Пы.Сы.: Поражает меня, насколько у д'Аннунцио трогательно просто всё на свете. Столь красивого описания вещей и процессов я не видел ни у одного автора. При этом нельзя сказать, что эти описания как-то оригинальны, все они примерно присутствуют и у других классиков, но у д'Аннунцио их такое большое количество, что в глазах рябит. А самое главное: спросите у меня, что было в его книгах - и я не отвечу. И это прекрасно. История так тонко скрыта в пространстве, что только визуально представив себе текст, можно хоть о чём-то вспомнить. Перечитывая его, ты натыкаешься на знакомые имена, вспоминаешь ситуации, но так, будто ты сам их пережил, давно-давно, и в памяти остались только смутные образы. Это похоже на то, как натыкаясь на фотографию опавших листьев, мы вспоминаем осень, с осенью вспоминаем дожди, вспоминаем тёплую одежу и высокую влажность воздуха, при том, ни с чем конкретно эти ощущения не связывая, так как картинка эта тут же пролистывается, меняется на что-то другое, и мы просто не успеваем добраться до личного. В этом весь кайф в возвращении к его романам. Хотя во время первого чтения книги могут показаться очень холодными.

Что-то похожее я испытываю и от Жана-Жене, но о нём - отдельный разговор)

i do think there is a degree to which certain kinds of Instagram activists have convinced themselves that traumatising themselves in solidarity is a useful form of activism. LOVE setting poetry :)) i don’t know a dang thing about writing it but i love to put my hands on it, physically, and this was an extremely sweet & good paper anniversary gift to get to put together. interesting discrepancy between Ay and Aye in some versions of the passage, I do not know where that entered into things—but Aye is how it is in my grandmother’s 1944 printing of The Prophet, and the customer preferred it that way so that’s what i did.
