Diamond In The Rough Ch8 Settling Down In Circhester P3
(WARNING: Reader does have some shards of ice fly at her but she does NOT get hurt and only her coat hoodie gets ripped. Thank you to everyone who suggested names. I could only pick three so here they are: Scoliopede: Girl- Venom, Mightyena: Boy- Night, Glacian: girl- Rena.)
A Date.
You were going on a date. WITH GORDIE....OK!! NO PRESSURE!! THIS WAS ONLY YOUR FIRST EVER REAL DATE!! Granted you weren't AS freaked out as you'd thought you'd be, but you chalked that up to still being really tired at the moment he asked you, and the fact that Gordie was actually a really nice person and you didn't really feel too nervous around him. But that didn't mean you weren't super nervous being a date! But why would he ask you to go on a date with him in the first place!? Sure you guessed the two of you had become somewhat friends lately, but you didn't think that would be enough for him to want to date you, and it's not like you liked him like that back. He was really nice, and cared about people, and yeah maybe he was REALLY nice looking and he saved your life and he was really gentle-
.....
.......
.....Oh no-
You immediately had Sparky emergency call up Sonia who was more confused on why you were calling her in the middle of the day but when you explained (three times in a row because you were panickily rapid firing your situation and Sonia had to have you repeat yourself to her), Sonia only chuckled over the phone and said one thing.
"Just be yourself. Can't go wrong with that."
Gee. Thanks a lot Sonia. Solid advice usually but you could've used a bit more advice other than that! UGH!! Well no time to worry about that now. You had something else to worry about for the moment. Sigh. No use worrying over it now. ...You should take your pokemon out today and gather supplies. It's been a while since you did that, and you had nothing else to worry about for the rest of the week, so you just sighed and slipped on your coat and beckoned for your trio of pokemon to come with you. Which they were happy to do so. You had to gather a few things to do your projects with anyways. Pokeballs being one of the key items. Why? Well to put it plain and simple because you were going out to catch some pokemon! Why? Well because it was one of the harder tests for your battle studies class you decided on doing next year of course! One of the final tests was to capture three pokemon and submit proof you did so. So if you could catch three pokemon and have Sparky record it, then you could just show the professor your videos and not have to worry about it later. How did you know this? Well-... Emerald of course. One night before you had a big exam last year.
"UGH!! You won't believe what they're having me do NOW!!," she complained to someone on the phone again not letting you get ANY sleep that night again in the room next to you. "That so called battles instructor wants be to get three pokemon.....*scoff* No, Mother. I can't get them from that stupid rotomi system. She wants us to go catch them 'in the wild'!! IS SHE CRAZY!? I'd get lost and freeze to death out there! Or some nasty critter's going to bite my face off!! That's why I'm having Jackson do it. What's the use in having a boyfriend if he can't help me catch a few pokemon.....No I'm not going to keep them unless there's any value. I just need them for the grade. ....Yes. I do want you to do that. ...How?...Hm. I don't know. I can always stage something. Don't worry. They'd buy something like that if I can think of something. Just pay them and leave the rest to me."
Of course she was cheating but you didn't want anymore drama and you figured karma would strike her for her actions. Turns out...You were RIGHT about that but wouldn't know until much later. In the mean time you were just glad to step out into the fresh air. It was nice out today. The sun was shining in the sky, and sure it was still cold as the norm in Circhester, but the air smelt fresh with the scent of pine trees and you let out a big sigh letting the steam of your breath be seen.
"Zang?"
Oh. Speaking of your pokemon- Silver was already bordly looking around with a sigh, hoodie still over his head. Seems he's gotten used to the cold by how long you've been here. He mostly stayed by your side. Cerberus was the one who was running around and rolling in the snow startling people. He seemed more happy being free and taken cared of...but he still seemed to growl at anyone not you who tried to pet him. Guess that was still an issue. Zen was on all fours sitting by and just looking around. Per Professor Joy's advice, you had started having him walk on all fours again because it wasn't good for his posture in the long run. Nor was it good to have his claws out all the time. He seemed unbothered by the change either way. Good. It was better this way. Right now Zen was looking at you in question with a tilt of his head and a brow raised in question.
"We're going to try out something different today," you spoke to him before pointing off in the direction you all usually went to let your pokemon run around without bothering anyone else. "I wanna see what you guys can do so we'll be training your moves today at a safe distance."
Today you'd be testing out what kind of moves Zen and Cerberus can do. You already knew what Silver could do from the times Gloria and the guys borrowed him for battles, but you'd never seen what the others could do, plus this could be a good time to see how Cerberus's health was concerning his fire type moves. He was back to a normal weight and was happier obviously with the way he so happily acted around you, but you wanted to be sure nothing else was wrong just to be on the safe side. You know how the saying goes. Better safe than sorry. With a smile on your face you turned and started walking over towards the pathway outside Circhester with your pokemon following behind you. All the way past Circhester's gates and then you turned and started off walking towards the left starting to walk through deeper snow now, around five inches up past your ankles. It was easy to walk through it despite it being it a bit deep and soon you all reached the tree line. Past the pine trees you all went and into the woods you all went. The smell of fresh snow and pine trees was increased now that you all had walked on past them and you hummed as you all went right onto the spot where you'd usually take them to play and let off steam. It wasn't anything fancy. Just a big clearing in the middle of some trees with one or two bolders sticking out from the earth here and there. Sometimes you'd see some ice type pokemon scatter off once you all entered said clearing, but it seemed today it was as clear as the sky. Perfect!
"Ok! This is a good time to stop and start working on our progress!" They looked to you confused but you only smiled. "Sparky!" Immediately the small orange phone flew from your pocket and up to your head. "Make a list of all possible moves Houndooms and Zangeese know."
"*ZZZTT* Calculating desired data! Data downloaded and organized to desired instructions! Awaiting further instructions!", he replied after a moment.
"Good. Just take off the moves that they don't have as we go along," you took a look at the screen Sparky provided you and hummed a little bit. "...Let's start with Zen. It'll be easier to do just one at a time." Once Sparky pulled up the list you nodded. "Ok Zen. You ready to show me what all that muscle can do?" In response the zangoose just casually stood on his back legs and stretched out with a yawn and a moment later, two pairs of sharp claws poked out from his red paws. Guess that was a yes. In one moment you pointed at the nearest tree. "Ok then! Zen, use night slash on that tree!"
Nothing.
"....Zang?" Zen rose a brow in question turning his head to give you a lost look.
"...Ok. Right. Sparky cross that move off his list." Guess it was clear Zen didn't know that one. "Ok then! Scary Face!" Nothing. "Razor Wind." Zen just continued to stare blankly. "Scratch?" Still nothing. Zen still stood there staring as if he had absolutely NO CLUE what you were talking about and speaking in a different language on top of that. "How about Focus Punch? Iron tail? Fire Blast? Fury Cutter?" By how he was still staring at you it was clear he knew none of those moves. You inhaled. "OK! We can work with this. Lets just move onto the next one that's on the list shall we? Sparky!" Said rotomi phone popped up in your face and by Sparky's account that was most of the list so far. "Alright....We tried that one. What's that? Crush claw-"
BAM!!
SIlver gave a startled sound of alarm at the sound of something hitting something else and you flinched as something akin to splinters and pieces of wood rained down on you all. In response you yelped and threw your arms over your face until the rainfall of wood and bark subsided, then you ever so slowly peeked back up in time for Zen to pull his left set of claws from the tree you previously pointed out to him. The side of the tree looked as if a cannon ball was scrapped sideways across it leaving a giant gash in the wood and a mess of wood and bark all over the place. You stared. Zen just flexed his claws before shaking his claws out and looking at you.
"...Oh. I uh..Guess you can use that move. *ahem* Alright! Once from the top! Let's see if you can use X-Scissor next!"
So by the end of it you learnt Zen could use the following moves. Crush Claw, X-Scissor, Close Combat, Mega Punch, and Solar Beam. By the end of it the tree uh...looked like it had seen better days from all the moves Zen practiced on it (other than Solar Beam which you had him shoot into the sky. Wouldn't risk the trees setting on fire) but at least you narrowed down what he did and didn't know. Cerberus was a little different. You had to be more careful with him because of the greater chance of accidentally lighting something on fire, so you had him just fire straight into the sky like when Zen did that Solar Beam. In the end Cerberus only knew four moves. Flamethrower, dark pulse, shadow ball, and bite. Not bad. At least you all knew what they could and couldn't do now. You also went through it with Silver, mostly enough to make sure he got some exercise. The few moves he knew was Pound, water pulse, water gun, and tackle.
"Alright. That should be enough for now. Good job everyone!," you praised to which they seemed pleased at. Before you shivered again and looked up again to the sky. The once cloudless sky now had a few clouds scattered around it now looking as if it would snow yet again. "We should head back to town now. It's starting to look like it'll snow any mo-"
SNAP!!
You froze as soon as the sound of a stick snapping loudly sounded off from behind you before you whipped around as footsteps approached. Loudly. And VERY, very close. Crunching snow sounds were starting to come from the back. And there was one- Two pairs of footsteps approaching you now. Which means that there was two people or a giant pokemon walking on four legs! The footsteps were louder now and you stared wide eyed as they approached from behind a small pine tree. You froze, Cerberus growled, Zen quickly stood back up onto his hind legs, Silver latched onto your leg- And a human hand poked out from behind a branch of pine needles gently grabbing them and pushing them aside to reveal the ones on the other side. You jumped with a startle, and stared as two pairs of ice blue eyes stared back at you.
You blinked upon instantly recognizing the two people in front of you. "....Mrs. Melony?" You stared at the Gym leader and her daughter who stood there staring at you from the branches and who seemed just as surprised to see you standing there. "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same question," the older woman spoke back stepping closer to you, Elsa right behind her, all bundled up against the cold afternoon. "I spotted something like fire shooting through the sky and I came to investigate it of course."
"Oh. That was me kinda." You gestured to Cerberus next to you. "I was just training up his moves a bit."
"Oh I see-"
"What are you two doing all the way out here anyways?"
She hummed and placed her head in one hand. "Same thing as you apparently. Training."
"That's right," Elsa chimed in and proudly crossed her arms, "Mum's been helpin' me train up ta take over the gym!"
"Oh that's right. I think your brother mentioned that. Congratulations on that. I hope it hasn't been too stressful."
She shook her head. "No. I mean-...Yeah it's hard but I wasn't expectin' it ta be easy. I need ta be strong if I wanna take over the gym."
Understandable. But-...You couldn't help but wonder how exactly Melony was training Elsa and how it differed from how she tried to train Gordie when he was younger if it even did. Did Melony learn from her mistakes with Gordie? Was she training Elsa differently? Or was she training Elsa the same way she attempted a younger Gordie? Elsa didn't seem the slightest bit bothered with her mother training her. Was it because she was keeping it hidden? Or did Melony's style of training work for Elsa? Or maybe Melony had completely changed her style of training? You weren't sure but both seemed to be just fine. Elsa gave another look to your pokemon before pointing at them.
"Whatcha trainin' for anyways? Ya don't look like the type to go shiny huntin'."
"Well you're right about that. I'm planning on catching some more pokemon later, but I'm not really good at battling so I figured I'd just practice a bit since I got some time."
At this the teenager look confused. "But how can ya practice battling if you got no one to battle against?" She gestured around the empty area. "There's not even any pokemon you all can fight. How do ya expect your pokemon to learn how to battle other pokemon properly if you don't even battle other pokemon?"
You opened your mouth...then closed it. "I-...Well I-...I haven't thought of that before? I mean my friend borrowed Silver to battle a few times so he has some experience."
"Wait..You never battled with your pokemon before, you're not training them to properly battle against pokemon, and you're out here thinkin' you'll be catchin' pokemon like it's not hard?"
"Elsa, don't ask that in such a rude tone," Melony scolded the teenager before turning back to you, "But she does speak some truth. One of the main points of having pokemon battles is getting your pokemon used to battling different kinds of pokemon."
"Well they do have battle experience." With Zen used to being a pack leader and the guys borrowing Silver, you knew they had some level of battling experience. You couldn't speak for Cerberus tho. You didn't know anything about him from before you got him.
"Yes..But do you?"
"Huh?"
"A pokemon's only as good in battle as their trainer," Melony explained, "If a pokemon's thrown into a battle especially against a pokemon that they don't know but YOU do then it's up to you to help guide it to have the best outcome possible. How do I explain this?...Take..Gordie for example. He might not beat every single trainer he comes across but being someone with lots of experience watching his pokemon battle different pokemon and trainers with different personalities and styles and moves gives him an advantage. Doesn't guarantee he'll win every fight, but being so experienced helps him be a good trainer and essentially builds a better trust with his pokemon."
"Oh. I uh-...Hadn't thought of that either. And it's not like there's anyone I know here who'd be down to help me with that."
"Oh. Well if that's the case, then I wouldn't mind battling you."
A record scratch went off in your head as you stared at the smiling Melony. "...Say what?"
"If you haven't battled anyone before, why not battle with me to see what you can do? Then you can just build off yourself from there. I don't mind. Watching me battle in person would also give Elsa some experience."
"Uh..." Your mind blanked for a moment before you shook your head. "H-Hang on! But you're a gym leader! There's absolutely no way I'd win against you!"
"Ah. But that's where you're missing the point." She smiled wider. "The point of what you're trying to do is see where you stand. Not if you win or lose. Sometimes focusing on just winning or losing can hold a person back and you've never battled me before. So how can you make an assumption when you haven't even tried?" Again..they had a point. "How many battle-able pokemon do you have?"
You blinked. "Huh? Oh. Uh just three. But I know their moves and I kinda have an idea about what to do with them."
"Excellent!'' She clasped her hands together happily. "Then a standard three on three battle won't be a problem!"
"I can referee!," Elsa added shooting an arm up. "The area's big enough to be used as a gym floor anyways! The boundary lines can be the tree line!"
"What do you say, Dear? Would you like to go up against an old lady like me?"
Her tone was nice enough but there was an icey cold edge under it which sent a shiver down your spine. "I- Well-...Sure. Why not?" Why not indeed. Worst thing that'd happen was that you'd lose anyways which wasn't the end of the world.
"Excellent! Then let's get started shall we?"
With that Melony turned and just started walking towards the end of the clearing. Oh. Guess you were taking the other side. With a turn you began walking off towards the other end of the snowy clearing before stopping and facing towards her. You didn't even get a chance to react or anything before she was already holding up a pokeball and tossing it out. In a flash of white light, a pokemon appeared. And not just any pokemon. A flying pokemon that looked like a moth dunked in white paint floated there. A Frosmoth.
"Well? Are you just going to stand there and admire it, Dear?", Melony asked tilting her head at you.
At this you frowned. Ok. A bug and ice type. Reasonably Cerberus being a dark and fire type would be the best bet to use against it, but you didn't know how powerful this pokemon was. Putting your bet advantage first might be a bad move. Zen was a heavy hitter as well but you weren't sure you wanted to use him so early into this. So your best bet would be-
You pointed. "Silver! Get in there!" A chirp and some snow crunching later, the drizzlie was fight in front of you with a frown.
"Alright! Let's do this!," Elsa cheered from the sideline. "First one to faint or goes out o' the clearin' loses! Three pokemon each for each round! Let's get the first round started, Mum!"
"Well, you heard my darling daughter!," she shouted voice echoing throughout the field before she pointed, "Frosmoth sweetie! Be a dear and use attract!" Following it's trainers commands, it let out a chittering sound and surrounding itself in bright red hearts before shooting them out towards Silver.
You didn't have any idea what gender the frosmoth was so there was no telling if it'd work or not on Silver so you made a hand swipe to the left. "Silver dive out of the way!" With a panicked chirp of alarm, Silver dolphin dived right into a snow drift completely missing the hearts tossed at him but now about neck deep in the small hill of snow- "Silver use water gun!"
"Sweetheart, dodge that and charge him with stun spore!" Silver obeyed your commands and a stream of water pulsed from his throat at the charging frosmoth. With one powerful flap of it's wings it was thrusted forward scattering snowflakes in it's wake and puffed up looking ready to blow that stun spore move at the water type-
"SILVER DUCK!!" Silver gave an alarmed sound before ducking his head back into the snow drift he'd dove into and completely missed the stun spore cloud blown at it.
"Ice beam!" It was so quick. How the Frosmoth changed from stun spore to ice beam and watching the white beam of light shoot from it's mouth area and towards the snow drift Silver hid under, and time seemed to slow as it made contact. A small BOOM! noise went off and you had to throw up your arms to cover your face from the spray of snow flakes. When you looked back up your jaw dropped.
The ENTIRE snow drift was encased in solid ice!! "SILVER GET OUTTA THERE!!" No response. "...Silver?" Again no response and it became pretty obvious why when you still didn't see him. "Oh my god- SILVER!!" Disregarding the battle, you quickly ran as fast as the deep snow could let you towards the ice prison until your hands made contact with the cold as artic ice and looked worriedly inside. "SILVER!?" Again no response except from the Frosmoth close to you who thrummed in curiosity. "Oh no- CERBERUS!! GET OVER HERE AND THAW OUT THIS ICE QUICK!!"
What followed was that Cerberus had to use flame thrower to melt the hard as rock ice all the way to the snow drift inside and you had to use your hands to dig through the remanding snow until you were able to pull out the shivering drizzlie who curled in on himself from the cold. You breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of him. Thank Arceus he wasn't hurt at least.
"Is he alright!?," Melony called from her side of the clearing with a note of concern in her voice, frosmoth already having been returned to it's pokeball.
Slowly you stood with him in your arms and nodded as he just chirped annoyed at his situation. "Yeah!...But I don't think he can fight anymore like this."
"In that case Mum wins first round!," Elsa said with a small arm thrown up in the air happily.
You again nodded with a sigh. Fair enough. Silver got it handed to him and with him shivering more than a cat dipped in cold water, there's no way he could continue battling and not get completely wiped out by Melony...But that wasn't what shocked you. You hadn't ever seen a bug type pokemon who could've switched between moves that fast before. How long had she trained it to be able to do that?
"Alright! It's time to start round two! Unless you wanna quit now but then Mum would still be the winner."
You took time out to look at Silver then to Melony who did nothing but smile patiently waiting for your answer. Before you looked back to Cerberus who panted but whined when you looked at him. "..Yeah. Cerberus, you're up!" If Melony was an ice type user then Cerberus would be your best bet. "I'm coming at you with more firepower this time!"
"Oh!," Melony gave a surprised face hand on her cheek before smiling. "That's wonderful, Dear! I hope you don't mind me washing the embers away."
You didn't get the meaning behind her words until you got Silver situated and Cerberus out on the field barking and growling in Melony's direction already heated up for the fight. Melony only smiled before tossing out her own pokeball and out came something that made your blood run cold. Out in a color of blue was a tall and intimidating looking Lapras. A. Freaking. LAPRAS. HOW COULD YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN MELONY HAD A FREAKING LAPRAS ON HER TEAM!? A water and ice type, which was something that could totally wipe out Cerberus in one water type move if you weren't careful. However the gym leader only chuckled at your reaction and Cerberus's now furious barking at the lapras who looked more confused at the pokemon it had never seen before.
"Oh dear. What's the matter? It looks like you had seen a ghost type pokemon. Don't worry. I'll make the first move since you're paralyzed. Lapras darling.~," she sing songed, "Why don't you cool them off with your icy wind?" Like clockwork the Larpas rung out it's (admittedly beautiful sounding-) voice and raised it's front flippers bringing forth a rein of icy wind rocketed right towards the still barking at it.
"Cerberus, to the right then charge right at it with bite-"
"Use Ice beam on the ground!" Again it was like watching something in slow motion, as the Lapras easily and again quickly changed from one move to another. It was hard to see with that cold wind blasting snow and cold wind into your face making snowflakes go everywhere, but you could definitely see the way that Lapras blasted a white beam from it's mouth and make contact with the snowy ground. Crackling sounds popping out as the ground quickly covered with a thick layer of ice with Cerberus charging. Only to slip with startled whine as soon as his paws touched the ice, and quickly crashing onto his side. "Good job! Now let's put out their flames with surf!"
SURF!? "Cerberus, hold your breath and turn your mouth away from the flow of water!" For the first time in your life, you saw cerberus gain a look of horror, especially when the a tidal wave of water sprung from the bottom of the Lapras's body and flowed towards the houndoom. Said houndoom flipped his body against the surf and clamped his eyes shut when the water hit him pushing him sliding back against the ice covered ground until he slammed into the leftover ice shield that had covered Silver earlier. Ice shards cracked and when everywhere as the water cleared and left Cerberus shaking his head and looking angrier. "Dark pulse!" His mouth opened instantly and a stream of black tightly spewed from the open muzzle and towards the Lapras-...Who..just leaned it's neck to the right and completely dodged it.
"Let's get ready to wash them away!"
"Use shadow ball to part the water!"The houndoom again opened his mouth and made a black ball gather energy in front of it.
"Use ice beam!" WHAT!? Instead of surf again which you completely thought was coming, the lapras tilted it's next again to completely dodged it!
"USE FLAME THROWER QUICK!!" A stream of fire was next to come from the mouth of the houndoom just as another white beam came from the Lapras. The two moves collided for half a second before the white beam completely cut through the fire and collided with his muzzle! There was a loud half bark half whine sound as it collided with his head and you could only stare helplessly as Cerberus laid there, unable to move on the ice, with now his mouth completely FROZEN SHUT!!
And then there was silence for around six seconds on the battle field other than Cerberus struggling and failing to stand on the ice until Melony spoke again. "Dear, are you going to give your pokemon an order?"
"I-...I can't!," you yelled back horrified, "His moves are all mouth based! He doesn't have anything else!"
You were expecting Melony to have her Lapras use surf again to just finished Cerberus off, but she only sighed and asked, "So he's unable to continue battling?" Sadly yes.
"In that case, Mum wins again!," Elsa added from the sidelines and it really made a pit form in your stomach. "But I suggest you get your houndoom off the ice and thaw out that maw o' his."
Yeah. She was right. It was kinda a struggle to have Zen fetch Cerberus off the ice and use his crushing grip to free his muzzle allowing the houndoom to gasp for air and whining from the whipping he got. That left only one pokemon you could use for battling, and Zen looked as if he didn't even want to do it but slowly walked out onto the still icy fields claws out and on hind legs ready for whatever pokemon sent out next. She didn't hesitate to send out her final pokemon for this, which instantly reminded you of an ape by the way it cried out and beat it's chest a few times. A darmanitan! A galarian darmanitan which were ice type variants of the usually fire type darmanitans. Zen was your heavy hitter so this should be an interesting battle for sure.
"I'm going to be nice this time 'round and let you have the first move, Dear," Melony called out with a small hand wave. "It's only fair, and to be honest I'm curious to what you'll churn out. After all I've never battled a zangoose before."
"Just be ready for whatever he throws at you!"
"Do you hear that, Darmanitan? Brace yourself.~" In response the darmanitan made an ape like noise.
"Alright then! Zen use crush claw on the ground!" In response Zen cried out raising his left paw as his two large claws glowed a bright almost painful to look at white before he struck right at the ground and made an instant reaction. A GIANT glass shattering sound went off as a good portion of the icy layer was broken, not all of it but a good portion, and let out the snowy ground underneath. Zen wouldn't have a too hard time not slipping now.
"Leveling out the field! That's a smart move! I'm impressed!," Melony complimented with a small clap, "But I'm afraid you aren't the only one with that ability! Darmanitan use icicle crash!"
"Zen dodge it!"
"GOOSE!?" Zen let out a questioning noise as the darmanitan cried out.
"LOOK UP!" He did so and yelled out as GIANT ICICLES appeared in the sky and fell down towards him. With a loud 'ZANG!' he quickly retreated to all fours again and started running, suddenly stopping as an icicles crashed in front of him, twisting his body this way and that, and by SOME miracle not getting hit by any of the icicles crashing about. But someone did. And that someone was you. The icicles crashed to the ground breaking apart the already broken ice broken by Zen earlier and making shards of ice fly everywhere, which unfortunately flew right at you as well. Your pupils shrank as one went right towards you- "AH!!"
A rip sound only loud enough for you (and Zen with his super hearing-) heard and instantly the zangoose stopped...and he turned to you as a hand zipped up to your coat's hood. Nothing hit you actually, thank goodness but that ice shared tore a good sized rip into your hood letting the cold air in and hitting the side of your head...You sighed in relief that it had missed you but Zen didn't stop staring wide eyed.
"GOOSE!?"
"I'm ok!," you assured him before pointing back forward, "Ok! Zen let's use Mega Punch!" He didn't move..."ZEN!! I said mega punch!"
"ICE PUNCH!!"
Zen didn't respond staring at the spot that was ripped on your hood...Before his eyes narrowed and he ever so slowly turned back to the darmanitan who already had his arm raised with a white light surrounding it. Time seemed to slow as the rival pokemon swung at him, and Zen leaned back barely missing the punch which slammed down onto the ice beside him. And he reacted. It was so face no one really saw it coming. A bright light in an X shape was slashed right across the front of the ape pokemon's face making the darmanitan let out a cry of pain at the close attack and you audibly gasped. That-...THAT WASN'T MEGA PUNCH!! The darmanitan had barely fallen down when those same deadly claws wrapped around that giant wrist of his and with a turn off his heel and tug, over his body the darmanitan was flipped only to be slammed down into the ice.
SLAM!! SLAM!! SLAM!!
One slam after another Zen yanked the darmanitan, slamming him into the ground over and over and over again like a sledgehammer. Each one ending in a loud noise which left both you and Melony stunned. You hadn't ordered him to do that or X-scissor!! What was he doing!?
"Zen, knock it off!! Stop it and listen to me!!"
"DARMANITAN USE ICICLE CRASH AGAIN!!"
"ZEN!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING BUT LISTEN TO ME AND USE THAT POKEMON TO SHIELD YOURSELF!!"
You weren't sure how but in between the tug of war Zen was doing to him he indeed made the giant icicles rain from the sky again which was unfortunately his undoing. Just as a giant icicle was raining down towards him, Zen did a 180 body twist and TOSSED the darmanitan into his own icicle making him give out a cry of his own and Melony give out a stunned scream herself. Watching her poor pokemon land just feet away. But it wasn't over yet. Two loud crashes rang out as claws dug themselves into the ground before Zen used his strength to launch himself across the ice right towards the darmanitan who didn't get up in time before Zen pulled his arms back and a series of punches began. The ice type cried out as Zen with his lips curled back into a menacing snarl threw a flurry of punches at him. Stomach, Gut, Shoulder, Head, and Face.
Stomach, Gut, Shoulder, Head, and Face. Stomach. Gut. Shoulder. Head. Face. STOMACH. GUT. SHOULDER. HEAD. FACE. STOMACH. GUT. SHOULDER. HEAD. FACE. STOMACH. GUT. SHOULDER. HEAD. FACE. STOMACHGUTSHOULDERHEADFACE-
Until with a final war cry of rage, Zen delivered a punch to the darmanitan's face so hard that it sent the ice type flying back skidding across the ice and snow covered ground until with a final thud it landed in front of Melony who-....Didn't even react?? She just stood there surprised for a moment staring at the form of her darmanitan before back to Zen. Elsa also remained blank face as you stared on in horror. YOU HADN'T TOLD ZEN TO USE CLOSE COMBAT!! The 'using the darmanitan to shield himself from the icicle crash' thing WAS definitely something YOU TOLD HIM TO DO but NOT close combat!! Zen just stood there heavily breathing paws balled into clawed fists before growling deep in the back of his throat and moving back stiffly to stand between yourself and the darmanitan laying face down in front of her.
"*HHHHHIIIISSSSSS!!!*"
Melony blinked for a moment at the long hiss the zangoose gave her and her pokemon before-....Smiling. "Oh. I see what that was all about now. AW!~ What a darling display of loyalty!~ I love it!" She gushed hands on her cheeks confusing you. What- "But unfortunately because he didn't listen he's all worn out now and tired. Oh Darmanitan, my little snow cone!~ It's time to stop playing dead now."
And then-...
Like what Zen just did HADN'T even happened-
You all watched as the darmanitan slammed his hands into the ground before pushing himself up and smiled dangerously at the dumbstruck zangoose-
"WHAT!?", you shouted completed in disbelief.
"Now dear, you didn't really think my pokemon were that easy to take down did you? After all, I've been a gym leader longer than Leon's been Champion." She waved her hand. "Oh of course other gym leaders are stronger than myself. Kabu, Raihan obviously, and of COURSE I'm no where near as strong as Leon and probably will never be-..." Her smile turned icy as she stared at you. "But it's going to take more than a few fighting type moves to bring down one of the pokemon I've trained with for nearly twenty years!"
"B-But-...Then how did Gloria-"
"She was smart. I'll give her that. She used her roserade's stun spore ability to instantly paralyze my poor snowcone to pieces." She sighed hand on her cheek. "The same move Milo uses against me whenever we battle. I've really got to better prepare for that later. However that's irrelevant now- Darmanitan!" She snapped said hand pointing at the smiling pokemon. "Taunt!"
Instantly a hand appeared and motioned for your zangoose in a 'come here' motion, to which Zen instantly hissed and chared forward at. "WAIT!! ZEN DON'T-"
"Ice punch!" The darmanitan raised his fist and with swing he swung at Zen but was stopped with a single crush claw of Zen's. "Grab him and don't let him go!" Zen's other hand was quickly grabbed in a tight grip Until they were both fighting against one another. At this rate Zen wouldn't have been able to
"ZEN! Flip him backwards!" Zen immediately obeyed literally falling onto his back and pulling the darmanitan forwards and up to slam onto his back- "GIVE HIM A TOSS ACROSS THE ICE!!" Zen. Obeyed. Jumping to his feet in an instant. Grabbing a hold of that darmanitan's wrist and with a dig of his heel, twisted around and tossed him across a patch of remaining ice. The pokemon let out a cry as it went skidding across the ice, Rolling over and over and over again until he inevitably slammed against a tree. WITHOUT EVEN FLINCHING the darmanitan shook itself off and got back up turning to Zen-
"MUM!!," Elsa suddenly yelled out making everyone look at her. The teen pointed at Melony's pokemon with a concerned look. "Darmanitan's past the treeline! Doesn't that mean he's out?"
Melony hummed. Then looked to her pokemon who shook off snow clinging to his fur, and then rose a brow. "....I think you're right." She smiled back to you with a regular smile again. "I guess you win by default, Dear."
"Yeah. But you still bested 'er in the first two rounds so ya still win!"
"Well it's not about winning or losing really," Melony stated as her pokemon came back over to her. It let out a content sound when she patted it's head. "You did such a good job! I'm so proud of all of you." She praised before returning the darmanitan and turning back to you. "It was to see how you could do and if I do say so you do need a bit of practice. You're not the worst trainer I've had the pleasure of battling against but there's definitely room for perfection." She then gestured to Zen huffing from the workout. "Especially controlling that's one insistence to jump the gun and fight for you rather than with you. Your pokemon chosing not to listen to you is usually because they see you as an incompetent trainer or is too stubborn or another problem. Rarely is it a problem because they're too worried about the trainer."
"Ugh." You facepalmed as Zen trodded back over to you and you instantly felt two giant paws grabbed the sides of your head as red eyes examined you.
"Ang?"
"I'm fine, Zen." Your hand trailed down your face and Zen stared at you skeptically. "I can see the problem...I'll definitely have to work on that." You turned Zen still holding your head to the gym leader. "But..thank you, Ms. Melony. I really appreciate your help."
The older lady only smiled at you. "But of course! I'm happy to help you-"
"Um..Hey Mom." Melony hummed and turned to Elsa who had walked up to join you all and the teenager look between you two then gave a sly smirk to her mother. "I have an idea. Why don't we invite Y/n to dinner tomorrow night? That way ya can give 'er all kinds of advice! N' Gordie'll be there too. He can give his friend tones of advice too."
"Oh, honey. You know Friday night's family night, and I'm sure Y/n's already got plans-"
"But Gordie said he wasn't coming," Elsa interrupted making Melony blink in surprise.
"He isn't?" Elsa nodded. "When did he say this?"
"He told me this mornin' to tell you but I haven't gotten a chance yet. He said his busy tomorrow with something special."
You lit up in realization. "Oh that's right! I'm going to be hanging out with him tomorrow."
At this both stared at you. Melony in surprise and Elsa knowingly. "You two are- OH wait! That's right!" Melony smiled again. "He mentioned the two of you were friends."
"Eh...Well yes. But he meant it more like a date wise."
"A date!?" Melony's hand grabbed her cheek in surprise again. "A date? He hasn't been on one of those since he was yelled at in public. I just thought he was too busy with his duties."
"This is perfect then!," Elsa butted in again. "We can invite Y/n for dinner and then Gordie won't miss dinner either!"
"Oh that's sounds like a wonderful idea!" Melony clapped her hands happily and smiled at you. "Of course you're invited, but please do ask Gordie first if he wants to. I wouldn't want to intrude or disrupt any plans you two already made."
You nodded. "Sure. I'll ask him about it tomorrow. But it's getting late now. I think I'd better stop by the pokemon center and then go home."
"That's not a bad idea. I think we should get our looked at as well. Do you mind if we join you?"
"Sure! Why not? C'mon guys!"
Your pokemon obeyed and followed you after Melony meanwhile Elsa walked slowly behind you both and rubbed her hands with a smirk.
"Step One of Operation Get My Brother A Girlfriend has been completed. Step Two is jus' around the corner."
-TIME SKIP TO NEXT MORNING-
It was snowing this morning again. Not surprising with all the clouds you saw in the sky yesterday but it did little to calm your nerves as you ran about this way and that trying to make yourself look presentable, debating on calling and cancelling the date with Gordie, and repeat the first two steps over and over again until you mindlessly going back and forth. Were you supposed to go find him? Was he waiting for you? Should you call him? No. Scratch that! You don't have his number! Were you supposed to wait here for him!? Your answer was given when there was a knock at the door making you jump nearly out of your skin and whip around to the door. Another knock sounded out and a voice came out from behind the door.
"Oi! Y/n, 's me! Open up!," Gordie called from the other side. "I've got somethin' real important ta discuss with you."
You stood frozen for maybe a couple more seconds before taking a deep breath, letting it out, and walking to the door. This was it. No backing out now. With a steeled expression against your nerves, you grabbed the door knob and opened it to the other side. What you were expecting was Gordie standing there with a somewhat concerned expression. What were weren't was the woman standing right next to him with a frown on her face......You blinked.
"Um...Hey, Y/n," Gordie started rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "Uh. You look good this mornin'. I uh-....Y-Y'know Officer Jenny right?" He asked with a nervous smile gesturing to the POLICE WOMAN next to him. "So funny story. She actually came to me because she wanted ta interrogate ya! HAHA!! Isn't that funny?"
You still stared saying nothing until eventually Officer Jenny sighed and looked you over with a raised brow. ".....Are you the woman known as Y/n L/n?"
"Uh...", you spoke numbly, "Yes?"
"I'm Officer Jenny of the Galarian Police Force, Poke-Federation Investigation Division or P.F.I for short, assigned to Circhester under the Chairwoman Dahlia's orders and under super vision of Gym Leaders Gordie and Melony respectfully." She pointed to the badge pinned to her coat front. "Currently I've been investigating a serious crime I believe is being held behind Circhester's doors. I've come to question you of how you obtained the pokemon you currently have in your possession."
"......Wat?"

Tumblr media

Pokemon FireRed Nuzlocke Part 4 - Diglett Problems (Celadon Gym Part 1)
Okay, it's official. I'm a busy writer and I neglected too much on the current playthrough and post that I had to get this back and try to finish this as best as I can. I'll explain soon, but for now, I should get this over with.
Don't worry, I'm still not abandoning it and I just finished Pokemon Violet. So if possible, I might finish this depending on the progress. So with that out of the way, time to continue this playthrough.
Basic Nuzlocke Rules
Species Clause
Gym Level Limit: 30
Lives: 8
Detailed Rules
Before we start, remember one of the rules I made for this Nuzlocke, which is "The battle style must be on Switch."?
Well, I'm ripping it away temporarily for this next Gym Rule!
Current Gym Rule:
Set Challenge Rule - If defeated before and during the fourth gym, I can restart my save file and I’m allowed to revive one dead Pokemon for each wipeout. Until I defeat the fourth gym, I must change my battle style to "Set" in all battles. Additionally, I can only use 5 Potions and 5 Super Potions for the gym leader battle. Once the gym is defeated, one life is deducted if no whiteouts or additional life if there are whiteouts.
I had to make this rule for this gym because one: with two of my party strong against Grass-types, I have to set a handicap.
Two: I need an extra challenge and despair.
Sure, I already lost Aggro the Spearow and Nerde the Magikarp (which BTW, still stung even to this day), but most of them came from wild Pokemon battles, and reading back on my previous posts, only the Vermilion Gym has some description regarding my struggles against my Gym Leader battle. And it's been a while since I do a Set (after my failed Platinum Nuzlocke... T_T), so this is just a test bed to see if I can do it again, namely at the Elite Four battle.
Also, I need to clarify something about my version of the Dupes Clause, namely how I deal with dead Pokemon. Bulbapedia and other sites such as the Nuzlocke Reddit have broad terms regarding the clause itself, so I ultimately decided that if I encounter a duplicate, but that said Pokemon is dead, I'm free to capture them. I'll amend this rule after this post will go up. With that said...
Tumblr media
(So I found another Magikarp...)
I had to catch it on Route 6! Although in my defense, I should have caught it at Vermilion City to save the route in case of emergencies. But I was desperate to replace Nerde and I WANT MY GYARADOS! Of course, since he's somehow the successor of Nerde, I had to call him "Salty" based on NerdeCrafter's alternate persona, "SalteCrafter".
So back to my journey, I switch out from Radish to Salty to grind him up to my current party level and headed off to Route 11 to battle the rest of the trainers there. Wrecker evolved into Graveler during the whole grinding session and Queen got in trouble with a Gamer's Bellsprout...
So far, it's a normal grinding session with no issues. But then, I battled an Electrician...
Tumblr media
(Crap.)
In case you've been living under a rock, Voltorb is an Electric-type Pokemon that has an appearance of a Poke Ball, which is perfect to end a Nuzlocke run to any unsuspecting trainers. But its appearance isn't the problem, it's their movesets. It has Screech, which lowers Defense by two stages and the two dreaded moves:
Selfdestruct and EXPLOSION.
Both of them not only deal a large amount of damage to one of my Pokemon, which might be enough to kill them, but the user faints when they use it. I repeat: THE USER FAINTS. WHEN THEY USE ONE OF THESE MOVES.
So if Voltorb used one of them, Flora would be dead by now. Luckily, Voltorb used Screech first and Flora knocked them out before they had the chance to attack. And trust me, this was not the last I saw them.
After I beat all of the trainers, I headed into the gate where I failed to get an Item Finder from one of Professor Oak's aides, which you need 50 captured Pokemon to do so. And knowing the rules of the Nuzlocke, I moved on.
At least, I tried to... I got blocked by Snorlax's big butt. So back to the drawing board...
After I healed my party back at Vermilion's Pokemon Center, I decided to traverse through Diglett's Cave to discover what was on the other side. But because of Nerde's death, I can't trust Salty on getting more EXP from switch grinding. So I had to give Salty a break and lead the whole trek with Flora.
But it seemed that the Diglett inside were not only annoying to run into but dangerous even for Flora. At one point, I encountered a Dugtrio who not only Mud-Slapped Flora to blind her, but they also used Dig so many times, that she kept missing her Razor Leaves and I had to use my Super Potions to save her from near death.
On one hand, we made it out unscathed, and found myself back at Route 2. On the other...
Tumblr media
(I'm an idiot.)
Yeah, I left Bait in the PC. That was stupid.
In my defense, it's been a since I resume this Nuzlocke two times and with all of my writing, RPing, and more, I'm a very busy person. But yeah, enough with the excuses...
As if karma struck me, I was forced to endure the cave with more Digletts and Dugtrio messing Flora up, get back to Viridian's Pokemon Center, heal up, switch Queen with Bait, and endure the cave all over again! If I have any hatred for one of the Pokemon, it has to be those small moles ruining me at every turn!
After that nightmarish back-and-forth through Diglett's Cave, I headed into a hidden gate blocked by a tree and got HM05 from another aide since I got 19 caught Pokemon (thankfully). I headed back to Viridian City and grabbed a Potion there. Also, I met a sleepy guy who offered me the Dream Eater move, which I taught to my Drowzee. I also went to Pewter City through the shortcut and grabbed an Old Amber from a scientist in the museum, finishing any remaining tasks in both towns.
After that (another) nightmarish back-and-forth through Diglett's Cave for the last time, I traced my steps back from Vermilion to Cerulean and exchanged the Bike Voucher I got from the Fan Club president for a Bicycle. But once I headed into Route 9 to battle some trainers, I realized something...
Tumblr media
(I got a bike! ...Did I forget something else?)
Yeah, I wasn't thinking straight lately and I forgot I was supposed to switch it to "Set" for this special Gym rule. Thankfully, this is my Nuzlocke and I can make my rules!
Set Challenge Rule - If defeated before and during the fourth gym, I can restart my save file and I’m allowed to revive one dead Pokemon for each wipeout. Until I defeat the fourth gym, I must change my battle style to "Set" in all battles starting in Route 10. Additionally, I can only use 5 Potions and 5 Super Potions for the gym leader battle. Once the gym is defeated, one life is deducted if no whiteouts or additional life if there are whiteouts.
Much better! Now then...
On Route 9, I caught another Spearow to replace Aggro (which I named him "Anger") and battled some trainers there. But thanks to me I changed my battle style to "Set", Drowsy got a close call from battling one of the trainers. And once I'm on Route 10...
Tumblr media
(Double crap.)
Yeah, my first encounter there was a Voltorb. Help me.
Before it could get any ideas exploding on Flora's face, I Sleep Powder and caught them, naming them "Volleyball". I would name them "Dodgeball", but again, I wasn't thinking straight and I panicked over Voltorb's potential Selfdestruct. Also, I overreacted when I saw Voltorb because I checked their moveset and saw that there were no signs of Selfdestruct anywhere. Yeah, I'm a bit stupid, but at least most of the Voltorbs on Route 10 can't explode.
This was actually perfect because I decided to spend some time on Route 10 grinding some EXP for Salty. If I want to avoid the same fate as Nerde, I have to buff Salty up into a Gyarados. I also trained Volleyball up to see what I could do with his moveset, which while they didn't have any Selfdestruct, I couldn't see any Electric-type attack except Charge...which could do what was on the name!
Before Gen. 4, the physical and special attacks were determined by types such as physical moves were Normal, Fighting, Flying, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Poison, and Steel. As you might have guessed, Electric is a special move. Luckily, Voltorb is good with Special Attack, only half compared to their high Speed. So even learning Spark is enough for them to survive without relying on a TM. The only problem is the rest of their moves after Level 21, which gives me concerns about how useful Volleyball will be for future battles to come. And lastly, I need to level up Bait and Queen up to match with the others. Sure, Bait is still death fodder that I loved and I'm not sure Queen can handle the Celadon Gym. But I need to prepare for the worse and I'm not leaving until everyone on my team are strong enough to take on any challenges and emergencies along the way.
Tumblr media
(On the bright side, I got a Gyarados! But at what cost? 😶)
So I was planning to end this blog post with the Celadon gym battle like the previous posts. But it seems I wrote a bit too much on this post, especially with my explanations, and I may need to go through another city to end it instead. Then again, the last post was 1 year ago, so whoops. So consider this part 1 of the Celadon Gym challenge. I'll see if I can resume the Nuzlocke after finishing Pokemon Violet, so see ya in the next post, next year!
I hope.

The Murky Sinister Drink
Devin was was an easygoing, boisterous and fun-loving kind of man,he was also very dedicated to his cause, and an excellent member of the infamous Team Galactic,he looked after his fellow grunts as if they were practically his own family and worked hard to impress Cyrus and the team admins, one cold morning Devin had just returned back from some intense trainings with his pokemon,he was tired and thirsty, roaming around the fridge of the Team Galactic headquarters for something to drink he found some strange juice by the name "Murky Sinister Drink"
"Well I can't find anything else and this looks good, might as well" He thought as he downed the whole bottle in a matter of seconds,Devin ended up really liking the strange beverage and over the past few hours he had downed multiple bottles as he continued to do his work,it was around noon when Devin had finally started feeling the effect of all the liquid he had drank that morning
"Maybe drinking so many of those juices wasn't the best idea" He thought as he squirmed a little in his chair,he was sitting in his room catching up on some work,he felt a small painful twinge in his bladder and thought that it would probably be best to go to ho only after he finished his work, for the next 15 minutes he squirmed in his seat, the small painful feeling in his bladder getting worse by the second,at last he had finally finished the last of his work,he quickly got up and started making his way to the headquarters toilets,he was surprised to find a very long queue of desperate grunts waiting for the toilet,he desperately made his way to the back of the line groaning as he held himself
"Hey what's going on dude, what's with the long line?" Devin questioned the grunt in front of him while squirming some more,he could feel his bladder slowly filling up with piss
"I guess everyone really liked those new drinks Cyrus bought for us man,it's probably gonna be a while" the other grunt explained to Devin who was now started to whine
"Ugh,you think I could go in front of you,I'm having a emergency here" Devin said trying to make his way past the other grunt, just to be pushed back
"If you haven't noticed your not the only one with a" emergency" we all need to go,if you really have to go that bad use a cup or something" the other grunt said in annoyed tone as he turned back around trying to focus on something else
"Damn,I won't be able to hold it for much longer" Devin thought as he felt a small leak make it's way onto his boxers, for the next 10 minutes Devin whined and danced around desperately as the line was moving at a snail's paste, the other grunts had noticed this and started to get annoyed with it
"Dude can you like seriously shut up? I get that you need to go but your just acting like a child right now!" One of the grunts yelled at Devin from the middle of the line
"Oh shut up! If you were in my shoes you'd be doing this as well! If you guys just let me cut through and go I wouldn't even be doing this!" Devin retorted trying to defend himself, this only made things worse as now all the grunts were pissed at him now and they were now throwing insults as the line continued to move slowly
"What's with all the noise? You guys know Master Cyrus needs quite to work" a voice spoke,it was Saturn, one of Team Galactic's admin
"We're sorry about the trouble sir,it's just he keeps on complaining and whining because he has to wait in line like the rest of us!" One of the grunts yelled annoyed as he pointed at Devin, all the other grunts agreed with him,Saturn sighed as he walked up to Devin with a annoyed look on his face
"Come with me now" Saturn ordered
"O-Okay" Devin muttered as him and Saturn left the toilets
"Go back to your room and don't try going to the bathrooms until the line is gone,I don't need you causing more trouble today,if I find you back in that line causing issues I'll be reporting you to Master Cyrus, and you know he doesn't take kindly to loud noises" Saturn said glaring at Devin still annoyed by the situation
"Y-Yes sir I'm sorry and it won't happen again,I'll go now" Devin muttered as he went back to his room pissed and squirming, once he got back to his room he sat one his bed trying to figure out what he was going to do next
"I can't risk getting reported to Master Cyrus, but I don't know how much longer I can hold it for!" He thought panicking as he felt another small spurt of piss make its way out into his boxers again,he spent 20 minutes painfully waiting in his room hoping the line for the toilets was gone,he felt a another spurt force it's way out of him, this spurt was way longer than the others and now his boxers we're damp
"Fuck it! I can't hold it anymore!" Devin thought in a panick as he quickly got up holding himself and rushing out of his room trying to get to the toilets as fast as his legs could carry,he had finally reached the toilets just to see a grunt entered it right before he could get there
"Fuck! No wait!" Devin yelled trying to get the other grunt's attention but it was to late, the bathroom door was locked and the grunt had already entered,Devin ran up to the door bouncing trying to hold it as a small stream of piss had started making it's way out of him
"No!" Devin thought trying to hold himself to stop the flow but it was to late,he quickly got his cock out trying to save his clothes as torrents of piss finally left his body,he moaned deeply in relief as it felt so damn good,he waited until his stream finally died down and put his clothes back on,he didn't even realize he had made a big puddle in the middle of the floor, and the other grunt had finished up in the bathroom and saw everything,Devin blushed in embarrassment as he heard the grunt laughing behind him
"Damn, really couldn't hold it could ya bro? Wait until everyone else hears about this! HAHAHA HAHAHA!"

hello👉👈 would you write an Miloxreader? In wich the reader is good friends with Nessa, Milo falls for Reader but is too shy so the gym leaders (don’t Need to involve all of them) try to get them on a date 💛💛
hello anon 💞! of course i would, here you go! :D i hope i got your prompt right; have a good read everyone ^-^ <3
Milo × Reader || Crush Oneshot (Sfw)
Tumblr media
You walked down the ramp of the boat that had brought you to Galar, now your new home. The port was full of people boarding boats and getting off them.
"Hey! Over here!" You heard someone loudly speaking, and turned your head towards them. It was Nessa, your longtime friend you'd be staying with until you could get your own place. You grinned and waved before hesitating as you noticed the men and young boy around her. The tall, dark one had a hoodie which you could only assume was made to resemble a dragon's stomach. The young boy was being held by a man with long white and black hair, who looked like he hadn't had sleep in years. The boy had a mask over his face, and suspenders you raised an eyebrow at.
To Nessa's left, stood a slightly pale man with pink hair. He was conversing with the first man you noticed, so you silently thanked Arceus that he didn't notice your stare. As you walked to Nessa you tried looking at anywhere other than him.
"Glad you made it here safe." Nessa walked up to you and wrapped you in a hug which you returned.
She kept an arm around you as she led you back to the guys. "Alright, guys. Be cool. This is my friend from Kanto, don't be weird. It's their first time here in Galar. Y/n, these are the other gym leaders. We have.."
"Raihan." She gestured to the tall dark one in the hoodie, who flashed a grin at you. You noticed a fang in his teeth and smiled back.
"Piers- and Allister. It was Piers' turn to babysit. Allister's a gym leader too." Piers was speaking with the other, still unnamed male. Allister turned towards you slightly and lifted his hand to wave. You were about to greet him back but he turned to Piers' shoulder again. Piers nodded his head at you as he finished the conversation.
"And..Milo." Nessa gestured to the last one, who you finally made eye contact with. His eyes widened, his mouth slightly opened.
"H-Hi." Milo said after a few seconds and held out his hand to shake yours. You took it and smiled at him, a dorky grin now showing up on his face.
"Alright, you can let go, Milo." Nessa snickered and took one of the bags from you as you finally let go of Milo's hand.
"Right! Sorry." He stepped back and rubbed the back of his neck, looking away at the other boats.
"Hope you don't mind, they wanted to help you move in. Rai, help me with this." Nessa gestured to your suitcase you had been wheeling behind you. He reached for it and you handed it to him, thanking Raihan in the process.
Nessa then led you to her home, the guys following along.
Every so often, you would glance to Milo and smile.
Almost every time, he was glancing to you too.
***
"You totally got the hots for Nessa's friend." Raihan grinned. "It's obvious, just ask 'em out already!"
It had been a few weeks since your first meeting, but it hadn't been your only one. Milo would often hang out with the other gym leaders solely in hopes of seeing you.
Milo, Raihan, and Piers were walking around Hammerlocke. They had more casual wear as to not be bothered too much, or given that much attention.
"How?" Milo groaned and ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't have the guts for it, they're just so.." He sighed dreamily and he could feel a blush creeping up on his cheeks.
"Dude, just say it. It's so obvious you like y/n, just tell 'em already." Piers bluntly replied.
"It's not that easy. They're from Kanto, they're- ughhh. Everything they do is so cool, what if there's cool people waiting in Kanto for them? How do I compete with that? And don't even get me started on how cute they are. Have you guys ever seen someone from Galar look that good?"
"Everyday in the mirror." Raihan quickly answered.
As they walked, Milo kept going on and on.
"And I don't like them either. I just think they're nice." He finally huffed out and walked away with pink cheeks, having reached the station to go back to Turffield.
"We're gonna help him, right?"
"Yeah, no shit."
***
"Is Milo coming over soon?" You asked loudly, peeking your head out of your room.
"Yeah! And Piers, and Rai. Why?" Nessa called back from the kitchen.
You grinned and walked out of your room, heading to Nessa. "No reason, I just think Milo's cute."
This quickly caught Nessa's attention and she turned from the fridge which she was standing at. Her eyes were slightly widened.
"I think it's cute, how he gets..he's so easy to make blush, and he has the cutest freckles too." You blushed a little as you sat down at the counter then looked up at Nessa, who was smirking. "What?"
"Nothing, nothing."
"I wanna see if he might ask me out soon- not that I like him. He's just nice looking. Goodness, his muscles too-" You rested your cheek on your open palm and continued. "He could snap me in half and I would thank him!"
Nessa snorted, "Calm down! I'm sure everything will turn out fine, stop drooling over him on my counter. Are you hungry by the way? I can make something for us."
You nodded and continued thinking of him as you got up from the counter and left, not noticing Nessa taking out her phone. She opened it and immediately went to a groupchat she had with Raihan and Piers.
Nessa: Hey. Y/n totally likes Milo.
Piers: That's good, Milo never shuts up about 'em.
Raihan: ha , ur gonna have to make milos dead body ask them out
Piers: I hate how you type so much.
Nessa: Guys!! I have an idea, but you'll both have to do ABSOLUTELY nothing.
Raihan: fine w me
Nessa continued typing away, constantly bringing both males back to her idea because their attention kept going back to Raihan's typing. She grinned, knowing you had no idea what waited.
***
You stepped out of a flying taxi at Turffield's Pokemon Center. Nessa told you to put on clothes you were comfortable and felt good in, and that she would catch up later when she was ready. It was already nighttime but you didn't mind.
Nessa told you that you would all be meeting in Milo's flower fields. The thought of finally seeing it in person excited you, you always saw Milo's work online and his plants and farm in general looked beautiful. You smiled a little and walked faster in the farm's direction.
Once you got to the fence you saw Milo almost instantly. He was in casual wear too, wearing a dark green hoodie, black jeans and normal black shoes. The simplicity of his clothing and how good he managed to look in it made you shyly grin.
"Hey! Glad you could come!" Milo walked over to the fence and opened the gate part to let you in. You two now stood inside, in front of the gate and facing Turffield.
"You look good." You said once he was turned away from you again, looking down at the fence.
"Th-Thank you. You look really good too!" He rubbed the back of his neck then realized what he said. "Not that you said I look really good- I just meant, you look good. Better than me! Or probably anyone!" He rambled and now shoved his hands in his hoodie pocket, flustered.
You giggled then stood in comfortable silence with Milo for a few minutes, often exchanging smiles.
"Shouldn't they be here by now..?" Milo finally asked. He looked around with a confused expression and took out his phone. He held it up so you could see as well, and you both stepped closer to one another.
Milo: Hey, where are you guys?
Raihan: got stuck babysitting al , TOTALLY forgot it was my turn today lol
Piers: Emergency sibling movie night.
Nessa: I have to do some stuff that came up at the gym.
Milo: So you guys aren't coming?
Raihan: no sirrrr
Piers: No.
Nessa: Sorry, but no.
You and Milo paused for a few moments and just stared at his screen. Then you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket. You took it out then saw a notification from Nessa.
Ness: Have fun on your date, thank me later. ;)
You blushed and grumbled, then took a slight step away from Milo so he wouldn't see you typing, 'This isn't a date!' as a reply.
Milo stared at the texts he now got from Piers and Raihan.
Piers: Since you couldn't do it, we set it up for you. Good luck on your date.
Rai: LMFAO ur welcome dude
Milo's face flushed as he also began to send a text of protest that it wasn't a date.
"Hey, since they aren't coming- I can go. Really." You stated and pointed your finger to the gate sheepishly. You put your phone in your pocket and smiled meekly at him.
"No, that's fine! I..actually really want you to stay." He also put his phone away and smiled shyly. "I wanna know you better, you're Nessa's friend but I want you to be my friend too."
His words made your face flush, the thought of being his anything made you have to suppress a grin.
"You're right..I wanna know you better too, Milo. And uh- what better way than to-" You finally made eye contact with him and you swore you could have felt your heart stop. "Spend more time together?"
Milo couldn't help himself, he grinned the same dorky grin from the day you first met. "Yeah! I'll show you the fields, and don't worry about getting dirty. The Wooloo and just about everything else are already in their stalls- they won't bother us."
As he finished speaking, you nodded. "I'd love to see the fields."
"Come on, and be careful going up the hill over here. Uh- actually-" Milo now held out his hand to you. "If you're fine with it that is!" His blush came back, and you stared with warm eyes at him.
"I am!" You giggled then took his hand in your own.
He gave you a small and shy smile, now leading you up the trail in comfortable silence.
You grinned in secret and continued to say in your head that this wasn't a date. You and Milo were becoming friends, and this was normal. However, there was a small voice in your head saying this was a date.
After a few minutes of walking the trail, giggles with Milo, occasionally squeezing his hand and getting the action in return, you didn't disagree silently to the voice anymore.
Thank you for reading! I hope you all enjoyed, my requests are always open! just might be a wait 💕 - 🥝

Just another one shot with Cliff x Reader, enjoy
Lending a Hand
Cliff ran over to his fainted Pupitar as it crashed backwards into the dirt, frantically checking over it's injuries while his opponent gloated.
"Ha, and I thought Team Rocket was supposed to be tough."
Cliff ignored the remark as he grabbed for his bag, desperately searching for a health potion as his opponent sauntered off. As he reached the bottom of his bag he realized he must be out. Dammit! He pounded a fist into the ground cursing himself for being so forgetful. And now his Pupitar might pay the price for it.
He shouldn't be this sentimental about a Pokemon and he knew if any of his fellow Team Rocket coworkers found out they would tease him mercilessly for it, but this was one of the very first Pokemon he ever caught as a Trainer and was ultimately what made him decide he wanted to specialize in Rock Types. He had worked hard to evolve it to a Pupitar and was working towards its final Tyranitar evolution just like he was working hard to become a Leader with Team Rocket. Although a loss like the one he just had was not Leader material and definitely not something that should have happened to an Officer such as himself.
Scooping up the Pupitar he frantically looked around the road he was on. He knew there was a town the way he had come but it was miles away and it had taken him most of the morning to get to where he was now. The Pupitar shook as he held it and a knot began forming in the pit of his stomach. Would he be able to get somewhere and get help before it was too late? Swearing under his breath he tucked it closer to him and began to run down the dirt path back the way he came. Even if he could keep this pace up it would still take at least an hour to get back to the town he came from, he just hoped that would be enough.
You shut and locked your back door, double checking that you had everything you needed in your pack before heading to the shed to retrieve your bike. It was a beautiful day out and just the kind of afternoon that would be perfect to get some more practice in with your new lens. You had finished processing your photos from over the weekend and while they were good they were not quite as good as you would like them to be. Which just meant you had an excuse to take more.
As you pushed your bike up the walkway you called for Emi, your Emolga, that obediently flew over to perch on your shoulder, trilling excitedly. He knew what getting the bike out meant - going somewhere out of town where there would be plenty of fresh berries and worms to eat. You crinkled your nose at him, giving the top of his head a little scratch before you set off.
It didn’t take you long to pass the edge of town and get onto the main path, a wide open dirt road with lush fields on either side. Your destination was a small forest a few miles up the road that had plenty of nice scenery to take pictures at. As you picked up the pace the warm summer breeze tousled your hair and Emi flew off your shoulder to do loops in the sky above you. It was definitely what you would call a perfect summer day.
Cliff’s legs and lungs were burning and despite his efforts there was still no glimpse of the town in sight. Jogging to a stop he fought to catch his breath, but even taking a brief rest felt like a betrayal as a fresh wave of guilt washed over him.
"It's gonna be okay buddy, we'll get you help soon." Although he wouldn't be caught dead talking to a Pokemon like that in front of his colleagues, especially not Sierra, in this moment it felt like the right thing to do. After a few minutes he felt like his breathing was under control enough to continue on but when he looked up at the road he spotted a cloud of dust being kicked up by something a bit further down. Hoping it was someone that could help he rushed forward, waving an arm to flag them down.
Emi was the first to notice the man running towards you and returned to your shoulder chirping incessantly before flitting about in front of your bike. Spotting them yourself you back pedaled, maybe a little too hard, making the bike skid to a stop in a cloud of dust. As the man approached it only took you a moment to notice the large, red R Team Rocket logo on his uniform and you gasped audibly, your first instinct being to turn your bike around and hightail it out of there. You were about to call Emi back to you when you spotted the Pupitar in the man’s arms and hesitated, it clearly looked injured.
“Hey!” Cliff called out, hoping to Mythics that whoever it was had some sort of health potion on them as he jogged to a stop. You were eyeing him warily and he couldn’t help noticing that you seemed poised to turn around. “Wait...please.” He panted out, motioning to the Pupitar. “I need help...it’s injured and I don’t have any health potions left.”
Emi was flitting around by your side, the yellow spots on his cheeks crackling with electricity in warning. “Shh, it’s okay Emi.” Motioning for him to come back to your shoulder you turned your attention back to the man as you toyed with your conscience. On one hand Team Rocket had a reputation, and it was not a good one. Could this all be a ploy to divert your attention away from your own Pokemon or distract you from something else? On the other hand he did look desperate and the Pupitar did look like it needed help. You always carried at least one health potion in your pack for emergencies and after a brief hesitation you flipped down the kickstand of your bike and hopped off. Setting your pack on the ground you began rummaging through it until your hand landed on the bottle.
“Here.” You offered and he hastily took the potion and administered it. A few moments later and the Pupitar’s eyes opened slowly, its coloring returning to a more normal shade.
“Hey buddy.” Cliff smiled down at it. You couldn’t help noticing how handsome his smile was as a warm flush crept across your cheeks. But that was neither here nor there. Job complete you stood back up, brushing any dust off your knees before returning your pack to your shoulder and swinging yourself back onto your bike. This hadn’t been much of a detour and there was still plenty of time to get some photos in.
“Thank you, oh!” Cliff hadn’t realized you had gotten back onto your bike. “Listen, I really can’t thank you enough, um…?”
“Oh, its (Y/N). Glad I could help.” You smiled warmly, flipping the kickstand of your bike back up as Emi chirped impatiently on your shoulder. Not wanting to stall any longer you straightened out and began pedaling forward.
“Wait, (Y/N)!” It seemed wrong to just leave it at that. You were clearly kind and when you turned back you seemed to be practically glowing in the afternoon sun like the angel you apparently were. And now that he wasn’t preoccupied and had a chance to really look at you he wanted to find something else that would prolong the conversation. “Thank you, if there is anything I can do to repay you…”
“How about just don’t let it happen again?” You smiled again and gave him a small wave before taking off again, heart fluttering in your chest, much to Cliff’s dismay.
The sun was just beginning to set as you pushed your bike up your street to the small building you called home, the front of which served as a small studio for your budding photography business. As you got closer though your heart skipped a beat when you saw the man from earlier sitting on your front steps. He noticed you as well and stood with a smile. That damn cute smile.
“Um, hi?” You questioned, stopping short of your house as you eyed him up unsure of whether you should be worried or not.
“Hi…” Cliff started before nervously faltering. He had figured you lived in this town as it was the closest to where you two had met and seeing as you were on a bike and didn’t seem to be carrying much it was the logical assumption. You also had a logo on you pack that he had matched up to the one on the front door here and had taken a chance that you might be back at some point. But now that he was here he was beginning to realize how it must look to you. “I’m sorry, I know this must seem...a bit weird. And I will absolutely leave if this is uncomfortable.” He laughed nervously. “But I was coming back into town anyway and I really just wanted to say thank you again. I really don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t shown up.”
You were silent for a long moment as you considered what to do. This was definitely a bit strange but oddly enough you weren’t uneasy about it. Team Rocket reputation be damned, someone who cared that much about their Pokemon was decent in your books. “It’s not a problem, happy to help. But you really didn’t have to track me down just to say thank you again. I really didn’t do all that much. Although," You paused, your brows knitting in question. "how did you find me here anyway?”
“Maybe I can tell you over a cup of coffee?”
Smooth. You thought, biting back a grin. “Alright, just let me put my bike away first. I think the StaryuBucks down the street is still open.” You began pushing your bike down the small walkway next to your house but paused before you got very far and turned back. “You know, I don’t think I ever got your name?”
“Cliff.” He grinned, leaning against the railing as he waited for you.
“Well, Cliff, it's nice to meet you.” You returned the smile before turning back towards the shed and hoping he didn’t notice the flush that was spreading across your cheeks as you did so.

Ch.1, Part 3: Encounter
My Heroic Pokemon Squad (A Pokemon/My Hero Academia Crossover)
Summary:
After receiving an emergency call to assist in sedating the legendary pokémon of time and space, Top Ranger (Y/n) (L/n) gets caught in the crossfire of their rampage. Sent barreling into a world unknown, (L/n) must now navigate her new surroundings and somehow find a way home. Yet, the aftermath of a momentary rift between dimensions carries drastic repercussions, especially considering that pokémon had never existed in this place to begin with. Not only that, but it seems humanity here have powers of their own, not unlike that of the creatures she has grown to love.
The students of UA had a big day ahead of them. They’ve worked with the support class for the past week to modify and solidify their hero costumes in anticipation for the Provisional Hero License Exam. They’ve had a long day and have since returned to their dorms for the night, moving to either take a rest or stay up just a little longer for casual conversation in the communal lounge area. The girls of 1-A were doing the latter; the chatter among them being about the progress of their special techniques, the time they had left until the big day, and any other facet of interest in between. The conversation had gotten out of hand pretty quickly with Uraraka floating in the lounge out of embarrassment from the allegation of having a crush. The perpetrator, Mina Ashido was being reprimanded for prying by Asui and Yaoyorozu. The ridley hero did not let up.
“I wanna hear more!! Over-bearing or not, I can make even the most unrelated stories relate to love! But…on a more related note about love, have you seen that super cute picture of those quirked creatures snuggling together??? They were totally in love!”
Leave it to Mina to know about the most recent things and talk about the most recent stuff. It was no denying that the news of animals having quirks held most of the peoples’ interest lately, but the pink girl was obsessed. She scrolls through her phone and shows her classmates the picture of two spiked rodent-like creatures. One was bigger than the other with its fur being a deep shade of purple while the one by its side was a periwinkle blue. They were snuggled close underneath the brush of an unspecified forest enjoying each other’s company.
“Aww. They look so cute together.” Hagakure pitched in, taking the initiative to bring Uraraka back down to earth. When the brunette was returned to solid ground, she rejoins the conversation catching a glimpse of the photo releasing a small coo of her own before Mina turns the screen. She starts scrolling through socials to see if there are any more photos and soon comes across an underwater photo depicting pink heart-shaped fish swimming together. She squeals.
“They’re underwater too!?” She was basically vibrating in place at this point. The girls invade space, gathering together to get a closer look and the newly searched photo. Wow, 365,000+ likes in less than 2 hours?
“They are pretty cute, kero.” Asui adds.
“I did a little bit of research on my own…” Yaoyorozu starts. “There seems to be equally as intimidating ones too. Like the one I saw that looked like a flying scorpion…”
“Or that one I saw from Russia that looks like the abominable snowman…” Uraraka chips in.
“Oooohhh. Or like this one!” Mina had entered a live stream which was currently underway. The location being filmed was a city, the bright lights of the streets was blurred by heavy rain. The cacophony of noise made by the crowd that surrounded the person filming also had their phones out trying to capture what was happening. The sound of an indistinguishable roar resonated through the area and boomed from the speakers as the peppy girl turned up the volume. Gushes of wind could be heard through the recording as if the currents were being moved by the wings of a flying bird. Though, the girls watching in anticipation doubted that any of what is transpiring was being caused by any sort of bird. The same roar booms through the speakers again and the crowds noise somehow grows louder. A silhouette of white is seen through the rain and the camera zooms in on the giant creature looming overhead. It was in full view now: a creature that looked to be three times bigger than the average human with a body of white and blue. The deep-sea colored spines that protrude from their back moved to favor the storm around them while its appendaged wings flapped at a steady, almost menacingly pace.
“WWWOOOOAAAHHHH,” the girls’ reaction to what they witnessed was on par with the crowd in the livestream, Yaoyorozu and Uraraka’s voices showing conveying more concern for the people filming. It when more of their classmate had entered the lounge room to see what all the fuss was about.
“Will you shut the hell up?! Some of us are trying to sleep!!”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” (Y/n) roars. The ranger was watching one of many news broadcasts from a tablet she was given. The voice of the on-scene commentator was drowned out by the worry the girl had for anyone in the vicinity. They lay witness to Lugia—a pokémon of legend—causing havoc in the middle of Musutafu. The pokémon looked confused, as if were searching for something or someone but their concern disappears when their attention is redirected.
Oh no.
The pro-heroes had made it on site. Through the lens of the professional camera, (Y/n) could identify Midnight, who had since made a wardrobe change, alongside three others that she had previously heard about…Kamui Woods, Gang Orca, and Eraserhead. If their names were anything to go by, it was easy to guess who everyone was. The man with a tight suit decorated in wooden armor is Kamui Woods; the whale man is Gang Orca; and Eraserhead is the plain-looking dude that looks very tired (of this shit). The four shared a brief moment of formality before engaging Lugia.
(Y/n) continued to watch and quickly noticed that the team of heroes wasn’t trying to defeat it. Rather, they were attempting to restrain it. A good move in prospect, but a difficult one in execution. The storm that continued to surge around Lugia would only make the tactic harder to accomplish.
Three out of the four had methods of holding the legendary creature down. Kamui Woods’ ability involved his limbs stretching and growing like a tree as he latched onto Lugia by its left wing. Eraserhead used the sturdy scarf he had as a tether on the right wing. Equipped with a whip, Midnight snaps the weapon forward to wrap around the pokémon’s left foot. Gang Orca uses his abundant force to assist in further bringing it down from the sky. Yet, their success in bringing Lugia down to earth didn’t take into account how they were going to keep it there. In a moment’s notice, Lugia had used its own power to break free from the heroes’ bind. As it rears back to let out another roar, (Y/n)’s breath gets caught in her throat.
It was as if everything was in slow motion. Lugia lifts itself into the air once more as its wings began to flap harder. It locks onto those who dared to ground it and the direction of the storm begins to change. The watered air current draws itself upon the white beast and concentrates to a finite amount. Finally, they bring their large wings forward to break the concentrated ball of pressurized air. In an instant, everything an everyone is blown back, the heroes taking the blunt of Lugia’s Aeroblast.
The news correspondent and camera man of whom were a great distance from the engagement were not safe either. The impact had recoil and knocked the crew off their feet. The camera lost focus and lay on the asphalt. Groans of pain could be heard in the background.
(Y/n) had seen enough. She clutched her duffel and sprinted out the doors of the police department. The call from the receptionist was lost on her as she hurriedly shuffled through her belongings to clasp three pokéballs. She taps the button on one and tosses it into the air. A bird of dark plumage is released. A ‘caw’ is let out in response to his summoning by the ranger as red eyes stare into (e/c) eyes.
“Alright, Honchkrow. We have a Lugia to take on…”

Lona angst 1 or 4 you decide how to break my heart because I know I'm gonna enjoy it anyway >:)
“I have to go, don’t you dare follow me.”/“Don’t you dare touch her!”
You asked for it
____
Sirens blared in Gladion's ears as he quickly strode through the too-pristine corridors of the Aether Labs. Wicke led the way, quickly muttering something into her comms device as she brought him through a familiar hallway. How she managed to hear anything over the alarms, Gladion didn't know, but right now, he didn't care.
"Here." Wicke spared him a glance over her shoulder as she stopped in front of a nondescript door, worry creasing her brow. "Are you sure you want to-"
"No," Gladion answered tersely. Anything more and he wouldn't be able to contain the sickening feeling twisting in his gut since he heard she'd awakened, would probably collapse and be useless and that wasn't what they needed now.
It wasn't what she needed now.
Wicke's comforting smile was weak, and Gladion wasn't able to muster up the strength to return it. With a final nod at Wicke, he stepped forward, slid his ID card on the automated lock, and pushed open the door.
And stepped straight into hell.
The room was dark, colored only by the flashing lights from the sirens. A few lab technicians and their Pokemon lay groaning on the floor, while others surrounded a creature that stood in the middle of the room. Even with one leg chained to the floor, she still swiped at the people next to her, screaming and hissing at the crowd.
One particularly brave man moved to approach, and Gladion could see the familiar glint in her eye, could see her plan taking shape-
"Don't you dare touch her!"
The technician stopped, just in time to avoid the swipe of her claws. And they were claws, long and sharp, emerging out of a human-like form, a familiar, human-like face. But her eyes were golden now, her hair streaked with flowing lines of amber. She narrowed her eyes, pulled herself upright as she crossed her arms over the thin lab dress that she now wore.
"Hello, Gladion."
Gladion's throat caught at the sound of her voice- rasping and soft, and not at all the full and joyful sound he remembered.
"Moon... is that you?"
The creature hesitated, and the way she tilted her head and shifted her feet was so much like her that Gladion's heart skipped a beat. It was just like the preliminary tests said- it was her. Except something else was in there, mixed up with who she was. Something had happened to Moon.
And the last time he saw her, she was standing in front of the Ultra Wormhole, biting her lip the way she always did when she was nervous. Flashing him a comforting smile before she kissed him on the cheek. Teasingly, like she always did, totally unaware of the way his heart skipped a beat whenever she did so. She had hugged him and said,
“I have to go. Don’t you dare follow me.”
"Wouldn't dream of it," he had said. "Come back safe."
And now those words taunted him as he stared at what became of her.
The knot in his chest was so tight it was hard to breathe. The rest of his staff ringed around him nervously, and Gladion had half a mind to run away, to close the door and pray this was just a nightmare.
But then he took a step forward, and told the others, "Leave."
"Mr President, sir-"
Gladion shot the man who spoke up a glare, and soon he and the rest of the staff filed out of the room, leaving him alone with the creature.
With Moon.
Golden eyes watched him as he approached. Her arms, long and clawed, were wrapped around her torso, but Gladion saw the speed she moved- he stopped just out of her radius, a few feet away. This close, he could make out the amber lines flowing in her hair, tracing along her skin. The clawed nails of her feet and the fangs in her mouth.
And yet he could still make out the way she wore her hair in a bob, the way those fingers so easily struck a victory sign whenever she beat him. The way her cheeks would dimple when she smiled and-
She looked so much like her, acted so much like her. But did the Ultra Wormhole spit out was the woman who befriended him, or a monster that stole her face?
"What happened to you?" he asked at last, keeping one hand close to the Pokeballs on his belt.
Her eyes narrowed again, sizing him up. But it was the hostility in them that scared him the most.
Despite it all, Moon never hated him. Once, he thought it was impossible that she ever could.
She tossed her head, her dark hair and golden eyes catching the spotlight, before she paced a few feet back and said, "You tell me."
He frowned. "Moon-"
"Tell me, Gladion." What should have come out as a snap... didn't. There was a falter in her voice, a tightening of the way she hugged herself. A plea.
And hesitantly, Gladion spoke.
"I don't know," he said. "You were in the Ultra Wormhole for three weeks. After the first week, we began searching for you, but without a Pokemon able to breach the wormhole, our efforts could only pinpoint your presence, at best. We knew you were alive, but you-" He stopped, trying to ignore the way his throat clenched and heart twisted. "You were growing weaker."
Moon watched him in silence as he sighed. Squaring his shoulders, he continued, "On the third week- three days ago, there was an Ultra Wormhole breach. We don't know how it happened, or who. But we found you at the Atlar of the Moone... like this."
"Like this." Moon echoed his words, holding out her hands as she studied them. He wasn't sure what thoughts passed through her mind, but the look in her eyes was distant. Haunted.
Afraid.
Instinctively, he took a step towards her, but stopped when her narrowed gaze shot back to him.
"So you found me, and instead of helping me, you chained me up." The venom in her voice was sharp, cruel.
"No," Gladion protested, his throat clenching.
"So what's this then? A new healing technique?" Moon glared at him. "This is just like what your mother did to Null-"
"No, that's not it at all!"
She flinched at his raised voice, and Gladion froze. With a deep breath, he said, "You... you attacked us. Hau. Me. You were in a frenzy. We had to restrain you, and brought you back here so that we could... keep you safe. Figure out how to help you. Before you hurt anyone else."
"W-what do you mean, hurt?" Moon spat out, eyes wide and body tense.
And lifting his arm, Gladion rolled down his sleeve- where a long, vicious, and obviously fresh wound circled around his arm.
There was a horrid silence, and Moon froze. Her eyes were wide, her mouth hung open, and Gladion hated it. Hated this, hated seeing Moon like this, hated feeling powerless. Hated holding Moon captive, and making excuses for doing so. He wanted to bury his head in his hands, wanted to hold Moon tight and beg her forgiveness for letting her go- wanted to be able to do something, anything because this was Moon and she was the one who brought him joy and happiness, not... this.
But then, quietly, softly... "I guess... I really do deserve to be chained up."
Moon's voice was small, and when he looked up again, her head was bowed and her shoulders were slumped. A faint smile graced her features, even though her eyes shone with nothing but pain.
"I swear, Moon, we only want to help," he began. "I didn't want any of this-"
"I know." She bit her lip, shifted her weight again. Then, gently she said, "You probably don't know if I'm still me or if I'm... not, huh?"
The fear in her voice gave him pause. The eerie light that graced her skin made her hard to look at. But it was the understanding in her eyes that dug deep into his chest and tore through his heart.
Before he knew it, he had strode forward and thrown his arms around her, claws be damned. A soft, choking sound escaped Moon, and Gladion wondered if he should let her go- until she buried her head into his chest, and a shaking sob escaped her lips.
He let her cry. Let her tears soak through his shirt, her claws dig into his skin. He held her close, and it was as if that touch alone was enough to release all the tears she'd been holding at bay.
"I can't- remember all of it," she said through choking sobs. "It was dark, and cold, and it hurt and-" She shuddered, and she all but wailed, "My Pokemon, Gladion. They- they're gone."
The heartfelt pain in her voice was enough for his eyes to prick. He clasped her tight, didn't want to imagine what she had to go through, and yet-
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "It must have been scary, and painful, and I'm sorry you had to go through all of that alone."
"And what, you could have protected me?" There was a sniff, and as she pulled away, even though her eyes were gold and her hair was streaked with lights- she was so Moon that Gladion knew his fears were for naught.
"I could have tried," he began, only for her to shake her head.
"Whatever I fought, it-" Her eyes glazed over briefly, before she pressed her forehead against his chest once more. "It was strong.  You would have died, if you were with me. I... barely escaped. And if you were one more death on my conscience, I wouldn't be able to bear it."
"I can scarcely bear it, knowing that I let you leave, alone."
Moon looked up, looked at him. Her eyes shone bright with tears and pain and sadness, her face streaked with tears. And without a second more, she tugged his head down and captured his lips with hers.
It was soft and tender. Full of unsaid words and feelings. It was everything Gladion dreamed of, once. But now it hurt to know how cruel it was, to have Moon in his arms, broken and barely a visage of the woman he knew.
He'd find a way to save her. He had to, if only to give her a reason to smile once more.
Softly, she whispered, "Gladion, I'm scared."
He leaned his forehead against hers, pressed another kiss onto her lips. "I am, too," he admitted.
She whimpered, and closed her eyes, resting against his chest as he settled her down on the cold, laboratory floor. He held her close, rubbed her back until her breath slowed and her grip loosened.
And it was when she was finally asleep did he finally allow himself to cry.

Listen To The Distant Thunder...
[Chapter list HERE]
Kabu strummed his guitar quietly as he watched the clouds gathering on the dark horizon, leaning back against the tree behind him.  Nanu sat with his head resting on Kabu’s shoulder, his eyes closed, just taking in the sound, heart aching.
“And if the music stops There's only the sound of the rain All the hope and glory All the sacrifice in vain,”
The first drops of rain began to fall, the two young men mostly staying dry under the leaves of the tree, the deep rumbling of thunder like a drumroll in the distance.
“And if love remains Though everything is lost We will pay the price But we will not count the cost...”
Nanu’s last night in Hoenn before going on to Alola for his new job, and it was starting to rain.  He wanted to believe, something, somewhere, had a cruel sense of irony, as drops plinked down onto the polished wood, tears that fell just like the rain.  They listened to the distant thunder as the strumming of the guitar fell away to silence.
Word had started to spread across Galar of the two young children who Rose left behind, and although Bede was used to being in the spotlight and handling paparazzi and questions and fans and chaos, Kabu was doing everything he could to keep it all away from Basil.  The damn leeches were everywhere, it was almost impossible to avoid them, and once they realized he was also housing Cyrus, a known criminal... It was only going to get worse as time went on.
Cyrus didn’t seem as bothered by them, and had scared most of them with his delightfully dark and deadpan humor that they mostly stayed away if he was out and about.  His two “friends”, as he called them, started coming around more and more as Cyrus started to heal, and once he was able to move around mostly out of his wheelchair, they began to join Basil with his lessons.
They started with simple things, basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and Cyrus couldn’t help but be impressed with how smart the kid was.
“Rose made me attend lessons.”  Was his defense, though he sounded less than thrilled by that fact.  He wasn’t thrilled with having class now, either.
Having Lincoln around helped, especially as they taught him sign language, and the more Basil absorbed, the more fun he had with it, as Lincoln was quite talkative when he wanted to be and Basil was thrilled to have someone other than Cyrus and Kabu to talk to.
Cyan mostly sat quietly in the corner, sketchbook in his lap, doodling idly and looking uncomfortable around everyone.  Basil had taken a dislike to Cyan but an interest in his sketchbook, so he’d sit as far away as he could while still being able to watch him draw, squinting nosily until Cyan would gesture for him to come over and get a better look.  Sometimes, if he was in a good mood, he’d show Basil how he drew something, or explain a little about his art, but normally he was quiet, closed off, just wanting to have alone time with Lincoln and Cyrus.
Basil, however, wanted to be anywhere but in a lesson.  He would much rather be running around, training his Pokemon and exploring, and Cyrus knew this.  He did what he could to make the lessons interesting, but he could only do so much.
“How come you don’t have any Pokemon?”
Cyrus had been ignoring the hand in the air for five minutes now, he could tell that Basil’s question did not pertain to the lesson.
“That is irrelevant.”
“Do you have pokemon? Do they not like you?  How come you never have them out?  Do your friends have Pokemon?  Can I see them?”
Cyrus groaned.  “Focus on your lesson, please.  Pokemon have nothing to do with your homework.”
Basil crossed his arms. “I can’t focus anyway so you might as well just answer the questions.”  He smarted off with a smirk.
“No, I don’t have any Pokemon.  You don’t get to keep your Pokemon after you get arrested for trying to bring an end to the world as we know it.  I don’t know if they liked me or not, that is their business and it doesn’t matter anymore anyway.  Lincoln does have Pokemon, I don’t know if he’ll let you see them that will be up to him.” He snapped bitterly.  “Can we continue with the lesson now?”
Basil frowned at that, and let Whisper out of his ball, cuddling the Meowth close.  He couldn’t imagine being separated from his pokemon.
“I’m sorry Mr. Cyrus… do you want to hold Whisper for a while?”
“No I do not want to hold Whisper for a while.  I want you to finish this equation.”
Basil dropped the cat pokemon in Cyrus’s lap anyway, before leaning over and getting back to work.
Cyrus growled, annoyed that he wasn’t being listened to, however the Meowth was very warm and very sweet, and he couldn’t help reaching over to give it a pat every so often.
If only for Basil’s sake.  He wasn’t doing it for himself, of course.
************
“You should bring an umbrella with you, there’s rain coming…”  Kabu followed Cyrus to the door.
“It’ll be fine, a little rain never hurt anyone.”  He assured the older man, leaning on his cane as he rushed off to take a walk with Cyan and Lincoln.
“Bye Kabu see you later!” Basil rushed past, almost making it by before Kabu wrapped him in a hug and pulled him back inside.
“Now where do you think you’re going?”  He teased.
Basil squeaked and giggled. “Hop and I are going to Circhester to have a snowball fight!  Let goooo!”
He let Basil go, smirking. “Alright, just be safe.  It’s supposed to storm and I want you home before that happens!”  He called after him.
“Okaaaaaaaaay bye!”
Basil stopped to say hello to Cyan and Lincoln before disappearing down the road.
Kabu watched them and smiled, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, taking in the scent of rain yet to come.  He was so proud of how far the two of them had come, Cyrus could move around pretty freely with the help of a mobility aid, and Basil only needed his cane on bad days.  The doctors told him they expected him to make a full recovery, though it was close, any more injuries and things could have been much worse.
He felt… at peace.  He couldn’t remember the last time things felt so right.  For once, everything was going his way.  He was happy.
“Lincoln, wait up!  I’m old, I can’t run that fast!”  Cyrus called, smiling.  Lincoln was running back and forth through the trees, chasing his Spinarak and giggling.
“He hasn’t looked this happy in months…”  Cyan mused. “You haven’t looked this happy in… well ever.”  He had his hand on Cyrus’s shoulder, an old habit, to keep him steady.
“I haven’t felt this happy in well ever.”  He responded, sounding almost surprised.  “I don’t know how to describe it.  I feel… good.”
“You look good.”  Cyan pecked his cheek.  “I’m so proud of you.”
“Bean!  Get down from there!”  Lincoln was hanging upside down from the branches of a tree, spinarak dangling beside him.  “You’re going to fall and bust your noggin!”
Cyan laughed.  “This is as good a spot to set up camp as any, hm? Are you sure you want to have our picnic out here?  We can go somewhere where you don’t have to sit on the ground…”
Cyrus waved the thought away.  “No, no, I want this.  I want to be out here with you.  And this will make Lincoln happy too.”  He groaned and tried to sit down, letting Cyan guide him down the rest of the way with a grunt.  “There. See?  I’m fine.”
Lincoln plopped down from the tree and sat beside him happily.  “Are you going to catch any Pokemon today?”  He signed excitedly.  “It’d be good for you to have a companion!”
“I don’t know, Bean… I don’t deserve a pokemon after what I did.  And besides, the old man would just take it away from me if he found it.  He doesn’t trust me further than he can throw me, and I’m pretty sure he’d throw out his back just trying to lift me.”  He smirked, and Lincoln snickered behind his hands.
“You keep saying that but that isn’t true you know.”  Cyan noted. “Like it or not he does trust you. He wouldn’t let you teach his son if he didn’t trust you, you’ve seen how protective he gets.  And he’s done wonders for your back, too.”
Cyrus couldn’t deny that.
The three of them ate in silence, just enjoying nature and happy with the company.  It was nice to have time together, just the three of them, and they didn’t want to waste the time with idle chit-chat.  Eventually, Cyrus made them pack it up.
“The wind’s getting strong, we better get back before we get blown away.”
They made quick work of packing their meal and helped Cyrus to his feet, staying much closer to him on the way back, noting how much slower he was moving.
Cyan kicked himself for not thinking to bring the wheelchair with them.
On the way back, Lincoln stopped suddenly, grabbing Cyrus’s sleeve and tugging urgently, pointing to a patch of tall grass.
“What?  What is it, Bean?”
The three of them paused then, watching as the grass quivered, something zigzagging through it haphazardly.  Finally, the mysterious creature emerged.
“Oh, Arceus…”
Standing before them, looking dizzy and confused, was the cutest, fluffiest Eevee that any of them had ever seen. It’s fur covered it’s eyes, and it shook it’s head trying to clear them, before catching sight of it’s tail and chasing it a few more round, plopping over on it’s face when it got too dizzy.
“That’s the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen in my life…”  Cyan covered his cheeks with his hands.
Cyrus groaned and crouched down to get a better look.  “Come here cute thing…”  It started to wobble it’s way over to him.
More rustling was heard, and suddenly a second Eevee flew past the first like a zubat out of hell, knocking it over before latching onto Cyan’s boot, gnawing and growling.
“Hey!  Get offa me you little ankle biter!”  He tried to nudge it away but it was determined to make an example of the shoe, however its tiny teeth weren’t doing much of anything.
“Catch it catch it!” Lincoln signed excitedly.
“What?  No way, it’s vicious!”
Cyrus reached out to brush the fur from the fluffy Eevee’s eyes, but was met with a fingerfull of needle like teeth.  “Ow!”  He didn’t pull away, watching as it tried to suck and chew at it gently.  “Cyan, they’re just babies!  They don’t know any better they’re just hungry!”  He pulled his finger away finally, watching as the Eevee stood on it’s hind legs and spun around before losing its balance and collapsing.  “Well aren’t you a pretty little dancer!”  He cooed.  He couldn’t figure out why, but he had a sudden need, an urge to catch it.
“Come on, I’m sure they’ll leave us alone, we need to get back before the rain hits.”  Cyan huffed and started trying to walk, but the Eevee kept getting underfoot.  “Hey! I said beat it!”
Lincoln giggled.  “They like you!”  He looked to Cyrus, who was watching them with a small smile, and handed him a pokeball, pressing it into his palm.  “Go on… it’s okay.”  Lincoln smiled and squeezed his hand before stepping aside to let him work.
Cyrus whistled.  “C’mere, little dancer…”  The Eevee perked right up at that and scrambled back over.  “You want to come with me?”  It hopped back up and spun around again, making happy noises. Cyrus smiled and tossed the ball towards it.  “Alright, if you insist…”
He watched the ball shake, once, twice, three times, then the satisfying click of a pokemon well caught.
“Cyan you can’t leave his friend here.”  He scolded.
“I’m not taking it!  It’s mean!”
Cyrus and Lincoln both gave him the look.  He caught the Eevee.
They made it halfway back before the thunder started to break apart the sky and the rain started to pour, taking refuge under a bridge to wait it out with their new little friends.
************
Hop, Basil, Marnie, Milo’s brother, and the new champion all met in Circhester for the most epic snowball fight of epic snowball fights.  They had invited Bede to join as well, but he hadn’t gotten back to them. Basil promised them he’d come around to their games eventually, after all they always had fun playing when they were little, he just needed a little more time to adjust.
Bede had also told him he was going to see Rose, and Basil could only imagine what that had done to him.
He pushed the thought out of his mind while they played and laughed, he hadn’t had this much fun in a long time and he was going to enjoy every second of it.  He rolled his eyes when Hop tried and failed desperately to flirt with the Champion, and rolled them doubly when the Champion gave his attempts in return to an oblivious Hop.  It was like watching Nanu and Kabu try to dance around their relationship and it was painful to watch.
The all eventually got tired out and stopped for lunch, piling into the cozy little restaurant and chatting happily.  Basil was thrilled that they had all accepted him in as a friend, and he quickly lost track of time as they drank cocoa and gossiped about their siblings.
The snow outside was starting to pile up.  The Flying Taxi’s stopped flying over Circhester.
************
“He should be home by now…” Kabu was trying not to let himself relax too much, but Nanu’s arms were so inviting.  “Something’s not right, I told him to be home before it got bad out…”
Nanu pulled him close again, kissing his neck.  “He’s fine, Kabu.  He’s just doing what we did when we were his age.  He probably lost track of time, he’s out with friends.  They’ll keep each other safe.”
They were snuggled together on the couch, watching the rain come down through the window as the lighting blinded them yet again.
“I don’t like him being out in this weather.  The rain is one thing but Circhester?  The snow gets so bad you can’t see your hands in front of your face what if he gets lost?”
“He’s with friends! He won’t get lost.”  He turned Kabu’s eyes away from the window and towards his own.  “You’ve gotta let the kid have a little breathing room, babe.  He’ll be okay.”  He planted a kiss on Kabu’s lips, smiling at the small moan of frustration it brought and Kabu pulled him even closer.
Both of their phones started going off, startling them out of their kiss.
“What in Arceus name..?”
Kabu grabbed his first, scrambling to his feet.  “No more flying taxis.  I’m going to go get him it’s getting too dangerous out there—”  As he spoke, a crash of lightning shattered the earth and the wind tossed a large branch against the window.
Nanu pushed him back down onto the couch.  “Stay here, I’ll go look for him.  He’ll feel safer with you here if he does happen to show up.”  He tossed on his jacket.  “But he’s fine!  He’ll be fine!  Keep your phone on you!”
Kabu didn’t want to stay.  He didn’t want to sit and feel helpless, but he knew Nanu was right.  He was okay, he was with friends.  They’d keep each other safe…
************
The three strongest trainers in Galar gathered in a huddle in the lobby of the Battle Tower (Aside from the new champion, of course, but behind closed doors Leon swears his win was a stroke of luck and not a feat of skill).  Piers, Leon, and Raihan spoke in hushed whispers, just loud enough to be heard over the raging storm outside.
“What about Marnie? He’s had his eyes on Spikemuth for as long as I can remember, I won’t let him hurt Marn, I’ll kill him before he gets the chance…”
“I don’t think he wants to hurt anyone.”  Leon soothed. “I don’t think he’s going to come after anyone.  But we have to be there for Bede and Basil, because he’ll try to get in contact with them and if he does, it’ll be bad news if no one’s there to intervene if his intentions aren’t good.”
“And the Champion?”
“Your brother’s gonna be alright, Rai.  Don’t worry about it.  We just have to keep our wits about us, and—”
They looked up as the bell on the door rang, announcing the stranger’s presence.
“Excuse me sir, the battle tower is closed…”
The stranger was wrapped in a large, ill fitting coat, with a hood that covered his eyes, and a scarf that covered the rest of his face.  He unwrapped slowly, ignoring the warning.
“The battle tower is closed, you need to leave.”  Leon warned again, hand twitching near his pokeballs.
The hood came down, and the scarf came off, and the stranger had revealed himself, though he didn’t look much like himself anymore, a shadow of his former grandeur.
“Please… I need your help.”

Part 3 Part 4.5
Master post
Words: 4,334
Summery: 'Logan understood why everyone was so quiet as dark grey eyes met violet.'
' Patton's eyes widen with joy, smiling as silver eyes met purple.'
'Roman, who was facing that direction, perked up, his chocolate brown tail swishing with joy as a familiar dark brown Eevee poked his head fully out'
'"Roman, what's going on- buddy.."
Thomas has successfully befriended the Eevee, but what about catching him?
Tumblr media
Logan
MJ and Thomas watched most of their pokemon play smiling, Logan and Elliott sticking by the trainers sides. Patton leapt around Iris and Issac, playing a small game of tag with the Vulpix and Prinplup as Roman faced Linda in a mock battle, Eevee slipping between the Scyther’s sharp claws.
Logan pawed at the page as he sat in MJ’s lap, staring in awe at the stars. It had become a tradition MJ would show Logan a book on space and assist him on learning how to read when the two groups collided, the trainer borrowing most of them from libraries or his mother. All but the first one he had shown the dark silver Eevee, “A Magnus Quantity of Space” which was currently open as Logan drank up the knowledge for the infinite time. He was happy.
“Logan! Looooooogan! Logan Logan Logan Logay-” “what” Logan snapped, lifting his head as the smug faced Roman grinned back.
“Come on, join us!” Logan rolled his eyes and just wanted to ignore him, but Patton looked over, hope and joy sparkling in his shiny grey eyes. Logan sighed but stood, sending an annoyed stare at Elliott as the shy Absol snickered.
The dark silver pokemon let out a huff, joining the other five as they set up game rules for tag. Logan half listened, half stared at a nearby wind-rustled Pecha bush. The berries were much too sweet for his taste, having always been ‘up Patton’s alley’ as Thomas and Roman would say. Though the berries did hold a memory in his heart from long ago, because-
“Boop, your it!” Logan jolted as Patton tapped his nose before dashing off. The game had begun.
Logan was surprisingly fast for an Eevee, tagging Linda before she even knew he was next to her. They continued their game, the speedy pokemon darting away without getting tagged again.
Logan carefully pawed forward, looking around as to make sure no one was there. He calmed his spiked fur from his last dodge, glancing ahead. There was that Pecha bush once again, shaking as if “tag!”
Roman crashed into him having lept from the bushes, sending both suddenly tumbling forwards. Logan fell right into the Pecha bush, hitting something inside before continuing his roll until both beings were out before Thomas, MJ, and Elliott.
“Ow..” Logan groaned, Roman’s ‘Mysterious One AM Disappearance’ plan already half done as he stood up, looking around to see what had rolled with him-
Logan understood why everyone was so quiet as dark grey eyes met violet.
Virgil scrambled up, fur on end as his eyes darted around. He squeaked when his vision caught MJ, turning to run off when Issac and Roman came out of the Pecha bush, confused by the lack of noise.
The dark furred Eevee looked for a non existent escape as Linda and Iris emerged, Patton squealing with joy as he spotted the wild pokemon. Virgil pressed up against Logan’s chest, fear most likely figuratively ripping his mind apart.
Logan tucked a paw around the smaller Eevee, sitting as he flicked his tail around him protectively. They were thankfully not near the center, though far enough the bushes looked miles away.
Thomas, who had watched the entire scenario, slowly stood up and made his to Logan and Virgil, before settling down about two feet away.
“Hey Virgil” The trainer couldn't help but smile, happy he was seeing the anxious Eevee once again. After leaving the field of flowers, he was scared that fate would not be kind and their paths wouldn't cross again. MJ, recognizing Thomas’ caution from when he himself first approached Elliott, joined a few inches behind the other.
Roman and Patton bounded up “Virgil!” Roman cried happily as Patton nuzzled their cheeks in greeting. He flinched, startled, but calmed with Patton's very soft fur.
"So.." MJ turned away from the chattering pile of Eevees to Thomas, who stared back confused
"You have attracted another Eevee" Thomas ducked his face into his hands, blushing.
Patton
Patton watched the sun set, Logan not that farther down the hill watching the rapidly darkening sky with excitement, a few bright stars already shining. The gang was taking a night in rolling open hills, soft grass and flowers lay blowing in a warm wind, one of the few trees around them shadowing Thomas as the trainer set up the tent, Roman some feet away scratching out a wide circle for a fire.
Patton tilted his head as the wind ruffled his fur, purring in the setting sun's warmth. These last few days had been so calm and nice. He approved of taking a break, they had been training hard for so long, a few days off wouldn't set them back.
He flicked his tail in content, listening to the flying types chirp their last goodbyes to the day, a few nocturnal pokemon already waking the night with quiet music of hoots and song-like whistles.
Somewhere near him, soft brushing of grass on fur caused him to open his eyes, glancing around. Logan was back with Roman and Thomas, the trainer  poking at the now lit fire. If it wasn't them, then who..
The light silver furred Eevee turned his head the other direction, his eyes catching another of special fur slightly crouching in the grass some distance away. Patton's eyes widen with joy, smiling as silver eyes met purple.
"Hey kiddo!" he cheered, Virgil hesitantly looked up at the rest of the group before making his way to Patton, flopping down next to, but not touching, the other Eevee.
It had been some time since they found that the dark furred Eevee ended up following them, a few more interactions strung between then and the current moment. Virgil had gotten a bit closer with the others, but was always gone before next sunrise, watching once again from the shadows.
Patton, knowing Vigil's shyness with engaging contact, flipped his over tail over the smaller and pulled him close, nuzzling the other's cheek. The Eevee shuffled in slight embarrassment but in the end cuddled back.
The two laid under the rapidly appearing stars, Patton feeling Virgil shift a bit away at one point but said nothing, just kept their tails intertwined. Logan had joined them at one point, cuddling up to Patton's side as stars reflected off his eyes, making no comment as the sky stole once more his star transfixed gaze.
A shuffle of feet made Patton tiredly blink, slowly turning his head as Roman and a pajama wearing Thomas approached the trio.
The trainer softly chuckled "c'mon guys, time for bed" Logan sent a death glare his was but Thomas just shook his head with more chuckling.
Patton turned his head to the darker Eevee "want to *yawn* join us kiddo?" the shiny Eevee stood, only to realize the other had been asleep as Virgil jolted awake, blinking tiredly at Patton.
Patton barely held in a squeal. Virgil was asleep! Next to him! He trusted Patton! The light silver Eevee frowned as the kiddo started to droop once more, before light grey ears perked up as he whipped around to Thomas, chirping a few times.
It took the trainer only a moment to understand before giggling. He kneeled slightly and picked up the limp Eevee, Virgil only whining a bit and pawing toward the ground. Thomas looked concerned before looking were Virgil was pointing, smiling.
"Hey Patt, I think Virgil was trying to make you a gift" Patton looked and sure enough, a half built blue, pink, and white flower crown lay in the grass, one of the end flowers squished as Virgil fell asleep on top.
Patton grinned with joy and carefully picked the strand up, walking back up to the campsite.
The fire was now extinguished, water and burnt wood mush stood in its place. Patton laid the half finished flower crown near the stick Thomas used to poke at it before following the trainer in the tent.
Thomas held Virgil close as he scooted into his sleeping bag, Eevees flopping on top almost immediately.
Roman curled up next to his left ear, shoulder now his pillow. Logan settled down on Thomas' waist, Patton curling up with him as his tail tip brushed Virgil's, the dark Eevee laying right in the center of Thomas' chest.
Thomas smiled as purrs erupted in his ear from his Eevees (thanks Roman, that's quite LOUD) hugging Virgil a little closer before sleep fell upon the human.
Thomas blinked awake, finding some weight off his chest.. literally.
He sat up, Eevees already fallen to the ground in vibrating puddles that night, and stood, carefully making his way out of the tent.
He emerged in the early dawn light, blinking away the tiredness as the sun rose above the horizon. Early bird pokemon unknowingly chirped a morning greeting, bushes rusted in the not to far off forest as pokemon skittered for food. Though that wasn't what grabbed the trainer's attention.
Virgil lay bathed in morning sunlight, tying the final blue flower into last night's flower crown. The Eevee glanced up startled but hesitant, purple eyes worried as he stood, a paw stepping back. Thomas understood, not yet.
He smiled at the Eevee "I'll make sure Patton gets it" Virgil stood frozen before relaxing, hesitantly letting out a "thank you" and "goodbye" chirp, before dashing off, fur at ease.
Thomas smiled and delicately picked up the small crown, inspecting the colors. Patton would absolutely adore it.
Though as Thomas went back to the tent, he could of sworn somewhere he read Eevee had an evolution with these colors..
Roman

Thomas flopped onto the soft grass, staring at the small fire as flicks of flame disappeared off into the night. Roman laid dramatically over the trainers outstretched legs, mumbling tiredly in Eevee. Thomas couldn't blame him though, same going for the two shinies who joined Roman, sprawling across his kneecaps.

They had been training hard all day, exhaustion had been inevitable. From wild pokemon battles, to targets and even between each other, the three Eevees had pushed far into training mode for their next challenge, their next adventure.

The next town was about half a day away, so camping out was the best option. With the low energy though, Thomas could probably lay down right here in the grass and pass out with ease.

A rustle in the bushes made him look up, confused. A smile overtook his face though, as familiar violet eyes poked through. Roman, who was facing that direction, perked up, his chocolate brown tail swishing with joy as a familiar dark brown Eevee poked his head fully out carefully, inspecting the clearing they picked.

"Hey kiddo" Thomas murmured sleepily, failing to stiffen a yawn. "Wanna join the cuddle pile?" he offered.

Virgil looked curiously at their pile as though considering, before ducking back into the bush. Thomas slightly frowned sadly, Roman's tail slowly drooping in disappointment as Patton let out a chirp.

Thomas sighed, about to turn back to the burning wood when the bush shook once more, catching all their attention.

Virgil's tail came into view first as the Eevee back tracked, pulling something by his teeth. Thomas stared, eyes wide.

The Eevee pulled the huge leaf a couple of feet away from the gang, turning his back to enormous pile of Oran berries.

"Did.. did you pick these for us?" Thomas asked, amazed.

Virgil ducked his head in embarrassment as he nodded, chirping something to the other Eevees. Roman suddenly sprang up and chipped something back, walking up to the darker furred pokemon, placing a small lick on Virgil's head before moving to drag the Oran berry pile closer.

Patton and Logan chirped gratefully as they grabbed two, Thomas smiling as he poked one on a stick to toast over the fire.

Roman watched Virgil shuffle his paws awkwardly, glancing curiously with those wonderful eyes.

"Hey Virgil, you can have one if you want" Roman offered, only for the Eevee's ears to droop.

"I've already eaten" he murmured, only to be betrayed by a quiet gurgle from his stomach. Roman hesitated, not wanting to discomfort the other.

".. I ate a bit earlier myself, we could possibly split and share one?" Roman shyly offered, causing the violet eyes to widen.

"I couldn't, it's your.." he hesitantly looked down for a moment, before lifting his head up a bit, looking right into Roman rich brown eyes "are you sure?"

Roman grinned, picking up the largest Oran berry before carefully draping his tail over the others back, leading him a bit closer to the fire. As they settled Roman used his claws, slicing their berry in half (and perhaps giving Virgil the larger piece).

And if anyone noticed Virgil cuddling Roman as the night wore on, only waking and leaving when the lighter of the pair stirred at sunrise, no one said a thing.

FamILY

Water droplets sparkled as they dripped off the leaves above, soaking up into the group's hair and fur. The early morning sky drifted blue with scattered clouds, hints of the rain showers from last night only shown by the damp plants around and slightly muddy earth.
Thomas laughed as Roman froze, water once again dripping onto his chocolate fur. The Eevee whined, only for Logan to lean on his back feet, standing up from where he lay on Thomas' messenger bag and slap Roman in the face, effectively shutting the other up with a splutter.
They stayed the night in a cave, setting up the tent inside as it started to show signs of a heavy storm approaching by sunset, the light sprinkle from earlier growing heavier as the clouds darkened.
The cave wasn't the biggest, more of a deep hole as it only fit the tent with two feet of coverage before rain splattered in your face, but it's entrance raised a few inches off the ground, giving them safety from a wet tent. They didn't need to stay that long anyways, only staying the night to escape being wet, the next town merely an hour or two journey.
Thomas smiled, but a dark hint shown through as something bothered him. He had called out several times before bed, informing Virgil he could join the warm cuddles inside, but the Eevee never showed. Worry traced his mind, only hoping he found a sheltered enough spot.
He brushed Patton's fur, the Eevee chirping with a nuzzle to the cheek. The trainer giggled, Logan shifting back to laying down, content. Virgil would be alright, he was wild. The Eevee must have gone through this kind of experience befo-
Roman sat up on Thomas' shoulder, startling him. The Eevee's ears were pricked, nose twitching as he caught something.
"Roman, what- hey!" Thomas spluttered as a tail smacked his face, Roman ignoring the wet grass and mud as he leapt off Thomas without warning, bolting off back in the directions they just came from.
Thomas secured a hand on both remaining Eevee's backs to enforce they didn't fall with the sudden change, before turning and rushing after his starter.
They didn't have to go far before spotting the Eevee anxiously pacing circles, perking up at the sight of Thomas before diving into the bushes, chirping from the other side.
"Roman, what's going on- buddy.." he fought through the bushes, Patton and Logan calling out in distress as Thomas sucked in a harsh breath, kneeling down next to the grounded Eevee's.
Roman licked Virgil's forehead, the smaller barely opening his eyes in pain and exhaustion before closing, letting out a relieved huff and relaxing as if only now feeling safe.
The dark furred Eevee's fur was dirty, his limbs weak and thoroughly soaked to the bone. Scratches were in several places as though he recently fought in a battle, the latest being from yesterday.
Thomas' didn't hesitate to check and sure enough his forehead was warm, to warm. Glazed eyes stared up as raspy breaths labored from his mouth, trust within exhaustion.
"I-I'm sorry Virge, I need to get you straight to a Pokemon Center" he lifted the Eevee, Roman leaping forwards to get scooped up as well, cuddling up to the sick pokemon.
He felt Logan move up to where Roman sat before, nodding in the corner of Thomas' vision. They were ready to set off.
And with that, Thomas ran.
Thomas speed walked through the streets, nearly bumping into others as he kept glancing down at Virgil. The Eevee had curled up against Thomas chest, Roman curling around the other giving occasional comforting licks.
"Hey!" Thomas stumbled as he nearly crashed into someone turning a corner, the other jumping to the side before collision.
"Sorry!" He called back half turning around to the girl, the Fraxure in her arms wide eyed. He only saw her and the pokemon give a started look at the Eevees in his arms before Thomas turned back around and dashed off, Pokecenter now in sight.
The automatic doors nearly caught his arm as he entered, rushing through the mostly empty entrance up to the Nurse Joy.
"Please help" he gasped having not stopped once, carefully setting Virgil down. Joy's eyes widened before calling out a stroller, two Chansey pushing it out.
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of Eevee" the Joy comforted, joining her pokemon by the ER door. "Virgil" Thomas managed, voice a somewhat raspy whisper "his name is Virgil." The Nurse nodded.
"Virgil will be fine" she smiled, turning away and closing the door, a bright neon red "Do Not Enter" lighting up above the doorway. Thomas took in a shuddering breath, the Eevees each nuzzling Thomas' face from their spot.
Thomas gave out a small, strangled laugh "thanks guys."

Jealous
Gallade x reader
Your POV
I was normally really secure in my relationships with people. May is my best friend. Drew is my grasshead bratty cousin. Ash is my friend and so are the rest of the gang. And Gallade is my loving boyfriend of 5 months and my former pokemon of 10 years. I found Gallade when he was a little Ralts, all alone in the woods. I have reason to believe he knew Max's Ralts but never found out for sure. I took him with me and we have been together ever since. About 2 years ago, the Pokehuman epidemic struck and Gallade was one of the victims. At first, I was upset. Gallade was my strongest pokemon. He still could use moves, but most people didn't allow pokehumans to fight in battles. It progressed from there and now he's my boyfriend. Enough of that.
I have been starting to doubt my relationship with him. Sure, we've been together for over 12 years, but most of those were when he was a pokemon. I have no idea how he feels about me as his own self, a human. The only sort of love I have him up until recently was the owner type of love. It is not bad to be in a relationship with a former pokemon, it just isn't common. And of course with that, comes all of the above. When we go out in public, people immediately see his green hair. Looks of unease are sent my way, even some looks of hatred and disgust. But I decided to look past that and move on with my day.
Today I came up with the great idea to head over to the waterpark and have a relaxation day, just my friends, pokemon, boyfriend and I. I had already told Gallade my plan as well as my friends. Some of my friends were busy, but the ones that agreed to come were May, Max, Ash, Brock, Drew, Solidad, and Harley, believe it or not. Yes, I managed to befriend the eccentric grape headed (MINORU MINETA!!!) man. Nowadays, May, Solidad, Drew, and Harley get along, if I'm there.
Grabbing my beach tote, I called for Gallade. He came down and we went out the door, making sure to lock it. Gallade walked over to the car and opened the door for me, like a true gentleman. I giggled and got into the driver's seat, him into the passengers seat. I started the car and we headed to the beach. All the way to the beach, insecurities filled my head, all about my relationship.
Pushing that away, I realized that we had arrived. I parked in a parking space and grabbed the bag. Gallade once again opened the door and I got out. I locked the car and we headed onto the sand.
It wasn't hard to spot my group. I mean honestly, green hair, purple hair with a cacturne outfit, pink hair, yeah, they really stood out. Running up to them, I carelessly dropped my bag before tacking Drew in a hug. We fell to the ground, covered in sand, but I couldn't care less. I was laughing hysterically, while Drew didn't share the same amusement. When he realized who it was, he shook his head, letting out a small chuckle. I got off of him and helped him up. I then went around and hugged everyone there, saying greetings and such. Solidad helped me set up my area to sit on.
I decided I wanted to play in the water, we could catch up with each other later. "Guys! Let out your pokemon, we're going in the water!" I yelled.
May, Max, Ash and I all cheered. May and I were quick to take off our coverups. Harley complained about getting his hair wet, to which I sighed. I gave puppy eyes to the rest and they eventually gave in. By this time, Gallade had arrived and just agreed to my idea straight away. I swore I could hear someone say 'whipped' under their breath but I wasn't sure.
Forgetting about that, I quickly released my pokemon, the others doing the same. Out came my team of lovely friends. I had a bit of an attraction towards 'scary' things, thus represented by my loyal team. Honestly, this didn't go how I wanted it to. Giratina was the first one to come out, and he frightened everybody. Everyone at the beach froze in the moment. To convince them he was fine and a calm boi, I called him down to my level. He spotted me immediately and nuzzled me gently, careful not to hurt me. This somewhat calmed people's nerves and they cautiously went back to what they were doing. Sweatdropping at this, the rest of my team decided to make an appearance. Out popped my Banette, Drifblim, Skuntank, Blaziken, and Golisopod. To my disappointment, people looked disgusted by my Golisopod. Knowing how sensitive the big baby was, I gave him a hug before glaring at the other beach goers.
"Alright guys, it's beach time. Go have fun but be sure to stay where I can see you and call you back if needed. Golisopod, you need to go have fun but be mindful of other people, I don't want you hurting anyone. That especially goes for you Giratina. People don't feel safe around you, they don't know you like I do. Just be wary and don't step on anyone. Oh! And no sending people to the distortion world if they make you upset, I don't want a repeat of junior year of high school." I commanded. After recieving nods, I looked towards my friends doing the same thing. All of our pokemon dispersed, each doing different things.
"Race you to the water, losers!" I shouted, running fast towards the waves. May gave a shout before chasing after me. After that, everybody else ran towards the water as well.
Then began the water fun. I decided to mess with my baby cousin a bit more. I snuck up behind him before tackling him once again, both of us disappearing underneath the foamy water. after a few seconds, we both emerged to the surface. Drew glared at me while I laughed. He look at May for comfort, wanting his girlfriend to back me up, only to find her laughing as well. This set him off and he directed his assault to her, splashing her with a huge amount of water. Wanting to join in, I started a water fight.
Timeskip to relaxing on the sand
The day was going great, until I saw her. I noticed her looking at my group with something unknown in her eyes. I immediately recognized who she was. She was a Gardevoir turned human. Suddenly, I was hit with doubt and anxiety. Once could say I was beginning to go a little jealous. Her green hair looked so pretty compared to my boring (H/C) hair. I noticed how well it would go along with Gallade's hair, they would be like a matching couple.
I noticed how tall and slim she was, the perfect height to match Gallade. I saw how beautiful she looked in her white bikini, looking down at my own bikini.
'I can't compete with her.' I thought, 'Why does everybody have to be better than me!'
Gallade seemed to sense my internal struggle, reaching over and grabbing my hand.
"Love, you seem tense. How about you and I go grab some ice cream over there." He suggested. I smiled at his proposal, before realizing where the ice cream vender was...right next to the Gardevoir, and I'm assuming her trainer. Not wanting to draw attention, I nodded and got up, walking towards the vender. Looking at the Gardevoir, I noticed her trainer. Not to be rude, but he looked like a sleeze. I pushed the thought aside.
We arrived at the ice cream vender and started to make our order. I ordered an Oran berry ice cream while Gallade got the Cheri berry ice cream. I waited for the man to serve us the ice cream, warily glancing at the Gardevoir and her trainer. After what seemed like an eternity, our ice cream was handed to us. I thanked the man and was about to walk off when my arm was grabbed.
I jolted back, my ice cream nearly falling. Caught off guard, Gallade and I turned around, only for my suspicions to be confirmed. Holding on to my arm was the sleezy trainer. The Gardevoir, like expected, had a glint of lust in her eyes. Trying to rip my arm out of the trainer's grip, I was pulled forward and into his arms. I looked forward and saw Gallade step up. Just as he was about to pull me away, the Gardevoir latched onto him.
I saw fire as she was rubbing herself up against him. I growled, face growing red. Having enough of this, I rammed my elbow into the trainer's stomach. He groaned and let me go, allowing me to rip the Gardevoir off of my boyfriend. Yanking her towards me, I slapped her in the face. What I didn't expect was he actually fighting back. Just as quickly as I had slapped her, she punched me in the stomach. Now, that hurt, but I have been taking boxing since I was little so it was nothing to me. Her punch only infuriated me further.
I grinned a sinister grin before tackling her onto the sand. Her trainer kicked me in the face, shoving me away as he helped the little bitch up. Then they ran at me, throwing punches left and right. Noticing Gallade right next to me, I shoved him away, wanting to protect him. All he could do was watch, as I kept pushing him away from the fight. He knew I could handle myself, so he let this play out. By this point, the whole beach was watching the fight.
This fight was getting boring, and I didn't feel like getting more injured, so I decided to pull out my ace. Bringing my fingers up to my lips, I managed to let out a sharp whistle before being kicked in the stomach and punched in the face. All I did was smile at them, eyes deadly and teeth gleaming sharp.
"What the fuck are you smiling about, bitch?" the trainer yelled, the Gardevoir smirking.
Their confidence didn't last for long as they realized what I had done. Racing towards us was my Giratina, shaking the beach as he ran. Behind him were all of my other pokemon. Giratina reached us and I smirked at the two of their faces. Giratina bent down, allowing Gallade and I to get onto his back. He turned towards the two as I announced my command.
"Gira, those two I will allow you to send to the distortion world." My smile baleful. A roar was heard before they were sucked into a dark portal, never to be seen again. Smiling shyly at the ice cream man, I asked for our ice creams. He shakily gave them to us and fled.
I started laughing uncontrollably as we rode Giratina back to the others. I slid off of the distortion pokemon's back, only to be tackled by my friends. They were spouting words a mile a minute. Throughout all the chaos, Gallade held my hand.
I'm sure he's in love with me. After all, he just witnessed me banish someone to the distortion world.

My Team HeadCannon from Explorers of the Sky
Ryan Takudo
Species: Shinx
Age: 15 Years old
Gender: Male
When Ryan was a human, he was a 15 year old university student in Nimbasa City University. Since he was a kid, he was inspired to become a Pokemon specialist when he visits to International Pokemon Convention in Hearthome City, Sinnoh. To fulfill his dream, he took the Trainer’s Exam and pass with flying colours. Obtained Tim when travelling to Hoenn with his friends when he stumbled a wild Treecko and decides to catch it. At school, his intelligence was shown as he can solve questions that was meant for higher education level. With his teacher’s approval, he finished his elementary and high school within a short time, 3 years to be exact. He took Zoologist as his major in the university, specialized in quadruped and electric type Pokemon.
One day, when he was alone at home with his and pet Pokemon, he saw something flew past by the window. He then goes out and saw an ultra-rare shiny Celebi, lying on the forest floor injured by the Darkrai. He then tried to help the Celebi but stopped by the pitch black Pokemon and knocked him out cold. After waking up, he had severe headache and being attend by his Grovyle. The Celebi had already attended by the wood gecko earlier thanks to his skills using wild berries as medicine. He realized that everything around him was stiffed, as if it the time has been stopped. Then the Time Travel Pokemon explained that his world was indeed paralyzed and must find a way to undo the situation, but not until he and the rest were running away from all sorts of Ghost-type Pokemon that hunted them down. In desperation, he and his Grovyle jumped into the Dimensional Portal created by the Celebi to redo the time but a mysterious force hit the portal and cause haywire which ultimately separated them. Unable to remember his past life, it’s up to him and his new partner to help him recover his memories and finishing his ultimate role before time runs out
Characteristics
At first, he have some trouble adapting his new body and stumbles a lot while trying to walk, but he manages to walk properly fairly quickly
Quick learner and very observant, possibly may learn a new move by simply observing and practices a lot, which some of his human traits were carried over when transformed into a Pokemon, without him realizing at all.
When in dungeons, he’s a quick thinker, critical in making quick decision when in danger, analytical in scanning the opponent’s movements in order to dodge incoming attacks. Excels in battles but not fairly well navigating through dungeons… sort of… (He’s embarrassed to admit it)
Despite being a quick learner and critical in making tactical decision, he’s quite hasty and sometimes his body work faster than his brain. He felt like being late is not an option. But luckily his partner can calm him down
A bit of geek when something interesting perk him up. Highly curious and tend to act before thinking thoroughly…(his biggest weakness which sometimes cause big troubles to the team)
He tends to smug whenever he was winning at something but almost always failed spectacularly in the process. Later, he utilizes his ‘trash talk’ ability when battling. Kinda like ‘a battle of mind before a battle of fist’ according to him, much to Mia’s disapproval.
  Ability
Ryan can summoned how much voltage does he wanted to use when using electrical attacks, like Magnemites evolution lines. He learn this ability when he first trained with Zarco, a local Electrivire when he asked for his help to master his electrical offensive moves. For example, when he wanted to use the move Spark, he will say “X VOLTS, SPARK!” where “X” is the voltage amount that he wanted to summon.
Example when he executes a move: “10,000 VOLTS, DISCHARGE!!”
Trivia
He has unusual traits as a Shinx. His eyes were blue in color instead of shiny golden color, a trait which carried over from human figure. He also have 5 pointed star shaped tail instead of four. This makes everyone scratching their heads about it, but this enable Ryan to gather 30% more electricity than any normal Shinx were and can glow 25% brighter.
He started to develop a crush on his partner when at the waterfall scene before exploring the Crystal Cave. Towards the end, he realized that he fall in love with her and affirm his love for her at the end of the story.
Mia Heather
Age: 15 years old
Species: Eevee
Gender: Female
Who doesn’t know Mia, a.k.a the “Walking Tome of Knowledge?” Her passion for adventures started when she visited the guild during the Guild’s Exhibition many years ago. Stories and tales which she heard from the guild members further fuels her interest to become an explorer in the future. One day, she found an odd looking stone with a strange engraving on her daily evening stroll at the beach, which she decides to use it as a lucky charm.
From that day, she began to study the rock, read all kinds of reading materials she could find in order to find out what stone it is. This also spark her interest in treasures and folklores. But one thing that she’s geek of is plants and berries. If Pokemon learn botany, she would be the top student in the class. With her exceptional knowledge in plants, she is a crucial asset for the team, especially when ongoing long missions which could take days to complete. She met Ryan one day after her another failed attempt to join the guild and instantly, their friendship sparked. With her new friend on her side, she finally succeeded joining the prestigious guild and her steps to become the greatest explorer became closer.
Characteristics
She always wanted to join the famous Wigglytuff’s Guild for years now, but her timid nature and lack of confidence were her biggest obstacle to overcome, which is why she doesn’t share her plethora of Pokemon and botany knowledge so often to others.
Despite that, she’s the one who never leave any teammates behind and willingly to stay, even in critical situation.
Her battling style is all about speed. She believes that speed will outcome every potential danger. Her running speed is use to its full potential but one thing she’s lacking is raw power. Usually Ryan will help her, but her timid nature sometimes get in her way, especially when she’s about to faint, hence the Run Away ability
She’s a quick adapter, meaning that she’ll fit in most of the tight situation by providing support to other teammates. Her Adaptability ability is not limited in her moveset, but her surroundings as well. Sometimes, she would lead the team, but her shyness overpowered her fairly quickly, especially meeting new Pokemon
Good sense of navigation, have sharp hearing (obviously…), exceptional memory and also second-in charge of the team. She’s also quite a neat freak as she always organized their stuffs in batches, even items in their treasure bag which she claimed for easier access… well for her and not for others actually…
Possessed exceptional knowledge in plants and berries, which allows her to differentiate good and bad berries and make special brews for emergency medicine or juices while undergo a very long missions. Also, she a good survivalist which helped the team a lot.
  Ability
She will receive a special orb which gives her ability to use a specific move pool that is associated within her evolution line. This means that she can use up to eight different type of moves within the evolution line. Her chosen moves were as follows:
Flame Charge (Flareon)
Thundershock (Jolteon)
Water Pulse (Vaporeon)
Psybeam (Espeon)
Feint Attack (Umbreon)
Icy Wind (Glaceon)
Magical Leaf (Leafeon)
Fairy Wind (Sylveon)
To activate it, she’ll have to tap the orb and summon the move she want, but up to three moves per duration. This will last up to 5 minutes before the orb glows dimly. It will be reusable once the orb glows brightly again. Once a move is summoned, it will stored in the orb as ‘memory’ and Mia can remember the moves she had summoned before.
She usually wears the orb at her neck, just like a cat wearing a neck bell. It is hidden underneath her neck fluff.
The orb have a shape like DNA structure inside it and gives out a warm rainbow glow, in which could lit up a small room. Many Pokemon mistaken for a Mega Stone. Even Ryan was surprised at this because he thought that Eeveelutions have mega evolution forms. Mia wishes that it is the true Mega Stone… but she’s grateful on what she’s given.
  Trivia
No one actually knew her origins. Heck even she doesn’t know as well. All she knows is that she lives at the Mimi the Chansey’s Town Clinic and Daycare for a good ten years before she started to live by herself at the Sharpedo Bluff.
Her features were a bit different from normal Eevees. At the end of her paws, there was a patch of white furs, kinda like she wears a socks. Her size were slightly bigger from average Eevee, but a bit smaller from a Shinx (about 40 cm in height).
Willy the Wigglytuff is actually her adoptive father figure. Stories goes by when he found a blanket at the guild’s entrance which containing a small Eevee, along with a note attached to it, stating that she came from a faraway land. Until she was 10, she was send to the Town’s Clinic and Daycare for her to live. Willy assumes her role as a father to take care of her. When she decides to join the guild, he was secretly ecstatic. Everyone in the guild doesn’t know this fact, even Charlie the Chatot.
Ryan have helped her numerous time along the way, which eventually develop a crush to the said Shinx. She actually denies whenever someone said that Ryan is her boyfriend, making her blushes madly and flustered. After took an advice from Saria the Sunflora, she firmly decides to tell him the truth in the near future, much to her amazement due to her shyness but it was too late because Ryan fades from existence. After Ryan reappears and finally confesses to her at the beach, she was overjoyed and accepted his confession. From that day, both of them became couples
Hope you’ll like my small headcannon from my team in Explorers of the Sky!

La Vie en Rose (Bede and young!Opal time travel fic)
La Vie en Rose (Life in Pink) Rating: T (for character deaths and language) Chapter 4/10 - Love Story (length: ~4k words) Summary: Bede doesn’t get why that loony old bat Opal wants him to be the next Fairy-type Gym Leader. To help him understand, Opal has Celebi take Bede back to the time of her youth.
(For other chapters, look up the tag “pokemon la vie en rose” or go to my profile)
The doctor at the clinic identified fatigue and dehydration as the culprit of Roger’s condition. The man had to lie in bed and receive IV treatment.
The doctor turned to Opal, who had been watching with quiet concern from the threshold of the treatment room. “Should be right as rain in a few days,” he said, “given enough rest and fluids, anyway.”
Bede could tell that she had a handful of questions at the tip of her tongue. Of course she would. He would too, if he ran into a strange, apparently homeless man in the woods.
Finally she told the doctor, “I’ll go see how his Pokemon are doing.”
Bede followed her to Ballonlea’s Pokemon Center across the street, where the nurse had been treating Roger’s Mightyena and Linoone. Their coats were no longer dirty and untidy, but clean and smooth. They perked their ears and wagged their tails when they saw Opal stride up to them.
“Don’t worry, you two, your Trainer’s doing fine at the clinic,” she assured them. “He still needs to be in bed, though. I’m here to pick you up and take you to him, if you’ll let me.”
The two Pokemon exchanged a glance, and Mightyena hopped down from the examination counter to stand at her side. She extended her arms, inviting Linoone to be held. It jumped into her embrace, then surprised her as it scrabbled at the fabric of her dress shirt to curl around her neck and shoulders.
She chuckled. “You prefer that, then?”
Linoone replied with an affirmative grunt.
“Poke balls really weren’t around back then, huh?” Bede asked Celebi. “I don’t think twice about having them. They sure are convenient.”
The two Pokemon accompanied Opal dutifully and quietly until she returned to the clinic. Roger sat up in his bed as soon as he heard Mightyena and Linoone calling for him. The doctor rushed into the room to click his tongue at the Pokemon.
“No jumping on the bed, now,” he told them. “And keep it down. You’ll disturb the other patients.”
Mightyena and Linoone’s excitement couldn’t be curbed until Roger had to repeat the doctor’s orders gently, with a smile behind his unkempt facial hair. Bede noticed that Opal tried to hide her own smile. It was clear to him and her that the two Pokemon found a kind and good friend in Roger.
“You’ll have to stay in the clinic overnight,” the doctor said to Roger. “Then you can be discharged if you’re stable the next day. After that, you’re out of my hands, I’m afraid.”
Roger scratched the back of his head. “It’s already been obvious to this young lady here, but I’m embarrassed to say that I have no place to stay.”
“There’s plenty of space at the theatre,” Opal said. “We can clear out a room for you.”
Roger’s eyes widened. “The Ballonlea Theatre? Oh no, I couldn’t possibly—“
“That’s the next best place. The inn’s under construction.” A mischievous light glinted in Opal’s blue eyes. “Between the theatre and sharing a house with me, an unmarried woman, the rules of society dictate that the first option is a bit less strange and a bit more acceptable.”
That made Roger laugh. “You have a point there. I appreciate your kindness, Miss—um...”
“Opal. My name’s Opal. How do you do?” She reached out to shake his hand, paying no heed to his embarrassment and reluctance to extend his own hand. Perhaps he thought she would be disgusted by his shabbiness. Her initiative seemed to surprise and delight him as his face lit up.
Bede thought he might’ve seen a spark of something as their hands linked. Maybe because he knew years later what would happen between the two.
The next day, after Roger’s condition improved and he was well enough to leave the clinic, Opal had the Ballonlea Theatre’s makeup department clean him up. She passed the time by training her Pokemon in the empty stadium. Well, empty when Bede and Celebi didn’t count.
It was like watching a rehearsal for dancers and actors, which didn’t surprise Bede at all. Weezing, Mawile, Togekiss, and Alcremie practiced their moves with finesse and grace. In between her orders, Opal called out encouragement and praise for their top form.
“Ms. Opal sure likes to put on a good show for everything,” Bede said to Celebi, who chirped in agreement.
He remembered one of the many pieces of unsolicited advice she had given him: “My boy, even in defeat, it is the duty of us Gym Leaders to give the audience a spectacle worth watching.”
Opal lived by that for a very long time. She never lost her flair for the dramatic. Small wonder that even to the present day, she had scores of fans when she otherwise might’ve been pushed aside and overshadowed by younger stars like Nessa and Raihan. Watching the early days of Opal’s passion not only for Pokemon battling, but for making it an art, put a smile on Bede’s face.
The training only stopped when a Gym Trainer showed up at the stadium entrance. “Miss Opal, we’re done,” she called. Then she winked and said, “Mr. Roger’s ready for you.”
Bede saw with amusement that Opal didn’t acknowledge the Gym Trainer’s suggestive tone as she gathered her Pokemon to her side and strode back into the theatre.
Roger emerged a transformed man. A dark, closely fit suit accentuated his tall, slender build. His beard was neatly trimmed. His hair was combed back and closely cropped. All in all, much closer to the dashing gentleman Bede recognized in the old photos.
Opal’s gaze briskly swept him head to toe. Bede noticed that her cheeks turned a bit red at the sight of Roger. A spark of something definitely went off there.
“How do you like your new look?” She asked.
“Very much, thank you, ma’am.” He shook his head and turned up his palms. ”How can I ever repay you?”
Opal held up a hand. “No need for that. My Gym Trainers and I don’t mind accommodating you. Isn’t that right, ladies?”
“Certainly,” one of them said before they all dissolved into light giggles behind their hands.
Opal silenced them with a pointed look under a raised eyebrow, then turned her attention back to Roger. “Besides, frankly you don’t look like you’re in any shape to repay us.”
Though she kept her tone gentle without judgment, Roger sighed and averted his gaze out of shame. “It’s true. I’ve been barely scraping by. My Pokemon and I have roamed far and wide, living day by day off of whatever battle money we can get.” He cracked a sheepish smirk. “And I’m not a very good battler.”
“Well, as you may or may not be aware, Ballonlea Theatre also functions as a Gym,” Opal replied. “We are fully staffed, so I have no need for more Trainers to keep our Gym challenge running. We do, however, need someone to fill in for a role in a play we are trying to put together.” She eyed Roger with interest. “You might just be the one we need.”
Roger tugged at his new tie. “You flatter me, Miss.”
“I say ‘might’ because you’ll have to audition first. I have no doubt that you’ll pass with flying colors, though.” Opal walked over to a table and pulled out a few papers to hand to Roger. “Here’s the casting call and script. We’re supposed to end the call today, but I’ll make an exception for you. Will you be up for auditioning tomorrow afternoon?”
“Yes, Miss Opal, I can.”
“Very good. I heard you singing when you were on the verge of collapse. I look forward to hearing you sing at your best.”
Bede didn’t hear any more of the conversation as Celebi took his hands. The flash of light coming from Celebi was so short that Bede didn’t have time to shut his eyes. Must have been a tiny skip in time.
They jumped to the next day. Roger’s performance during his audition had Opal floored. She was so impressed that she actually went up on stage to sing along with him—something she had never done with the other candidates.
She treated him to dinner later at the Dancing Impidimp, Ballonlea’s premier cafe not too far from the Gym. Bede sat down at a table for two next to them, just in time for him to catch Opal exclaiming in disbelief, “You mean to tell me that you were never classically trained?”
She had almost dropped her cup of tea in the process.
“It’s true,” Roger said modestly. “I never went to school for theatre and singing. Couldn’t afford it.”
“Well, you must have learned somehow.” She sounded more curious and astonished than accusatory.
“When I was young, before I turned ten to become a Trainer, a traveling troupe would visit my home town once in a while to perform. I was enraptured. I committed the notes and steps of all the songs to memory. I wanted to dance and sing just like them. Unfortunately, when I became old enough to join that troupe, they disbanded. My family was too poor to send me to a proper school, so I tried my hand at making money as a Pokemon Trainer, but that didn’t work out so well, either.”
Opal inclined her head at him. “Where did you grow up? I gather from your lack of a Galarian accent that you’re not from around here, I know that much.”
“I’m from Hoenn, ma’am.”
She raised her eyebrows for a moment. “You’ve come a long way, Mr. Roger.”
“I’m from Littleroot Town, to be exact. Maybe you’ve heard of it? I won’t be surprised at all if you haven’t. It’s a sleepy little town, a blip on the map.”
“I can’t say that I’ve heard of it,” she admitted.
“Me neither,” Bede said, knowing that only Celebi would hear him. He had never set foot outside of Galar. It made sense that Roger came from Hoenn. Mightyenas were not local to the Galar region.
“I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough upbringing,” Opal went on after a sip of her tea. “It’s a shame that your talents weren’t recognized. You have an amazing voice. You have the part, for sure. I’ll pay you generously for your contribution to the play.”
Roger raised his hands as if he was trying to stop her. “Miss Opal, you’ve already done so much for me. You gave me a place to stay, let me keep new clothes, and gave me work to do. Any more and you’ll make me very guilty.”
“Oh, don’t be guilty about it. I have a lot of money to spare. Trust me.” Then she raised a hand to her chest. “Oh, dear. That must’ve come off as quite snobby.” She cleared her throat. “What I mean to say is that you deserve reward for your talent, and that I have no reservations about supporting you wholeheartedly. At least, until the play is done and you can get back on your feet.”
Roger beamed at her. “Thank you. I think I’m going to enjoy my time here.”
Celebi touched Bede’s hands once more and they jumped forward in time. He ended up back in the theatre, facing the stage, among a packed audience that sent up a rousing applause for the actors assembled for the final bow. Opal and Roger, decked out in stunning, classy costumes, were among those who bowed with broad grins and a flourish.
Celebi tugged at Bede’s sleeve, beckoning him to follow Opal and her Gym Trainers to the dressing room.
Bede frowned. “I don’t know, Celebi, that’s the room for women—“
“Bi!” The time-traveling Pokemon gave him a playful shove from behind. He had no choice but to duck into the door before the last woman inside shut it behind her.
“Stunning duet, as always, Miss Opal,” one of the Trainers remarked.
“You and Roger make such a great team,” another Trainer said.
“And a great couple, one day,” said yet another Trainer with a giggle.
Opal rolled her eyes as she scrubbed off makeup before the mirror. “Ladies, please. Don’t get all your skirts in a ruffle. The man’s twelve years older than me. He would be more interested in a woman his age.”
“Oh, I don’t think so,” said the Gym Trainer with a gleam in her eye. “Have you seen the way he can barely take his eyes off of you when we rehearse and perform? He’s absolutely smitten by you.”
“Who can blame the poor man? You are a prime specimen of charm and beauty, Miss Opal.”
Opal snatched up a fan from the box of props sitting nearby and swatted at the teasing Gym Trainers. “Enough of this. He and I are just playing our parts. Nothing to it.”
“Oh, it’s much more than that, Miss Opal. You just don’t see it yet.”
The young Ballonlea Gym Leader huffed in exasperation. “I’ll never change out of costume in peace with you ladies around.” With a scowl and reddened cheeks, she put attitude into unbuttoning her dress while the women continued to laugh and tease her.
Celebi spared Bede from looking anymore as it took his hands.
Bede ended up back at the Dancing Impidimp, where Opal and Roger sat down for lunch.
“You would like the usual, I presume?” The waiter asked them.
“Yes, please,” Opal replied, and the waiter took their orders with a knowing smile.
“They must come here a lot,” Bede remarked to Celebi.
On the table between the two were a stack of papers bound by clips, so the breeze wouldn’t blow them away. Bede wondered what those were when Opal said, “Now I know why you insisted that you didn’t want your backpack thrown away with all your old clothes. All these plays you wrote...they’re brilliant. I can’t believe that no one would take them.”
“There’s no market for plays in Hoenn,” Roger replied. “Pokemon Contests are all the rage there. I tried taking them to Unova, but Pokestar Studios make films and have no interest in plays. So I made my way here, because I got word that the Ballonlea Theatre takes a chance on original plays.”
“You heard correctly. We’ve always had a reputation for being avant-garde. Yes, we usually run the classic and established plays, but when we find a story that’s good enough, we take that to the stage as well. And everything you have here is more than good enough, Roger. You are a born storyteller. Is there anything you can’t do?”
Roger laughed. “Well, I can barely put up a good fight in a Pokemon battle. Don’t believe me? Ask Mightyena and Obstagoon, the poor chaps. I’m just not cut out for thinking on my feet and following my intuition. I lost to enough Trainers half my age that it’s quite embarrassing. And I lost count of the number of times I was tempted to burn these scripts, just for a warmer fire at night.”
“I’m glad you didn’t throw them into the fire. I would love to have the theatre perform these plays you’ve written. We’ve run dry on originality these days. We could use a breath of fresh air.”
Roger raised an eyebrow. “Even if the ending’s tragic and everyone dies?”
“Especially that,” Opal replied. “I love the power and poignancy of sad stories. I love wringing a few tears out of the audience.”
“You are quite the sadist,” he joked.
“Says the one who writes those kind of stories.”
“Touche.”
Bede noticed the change in atmosphere since the two had shared a meal at the Dancing Impidimp for the first time. All throughout their banter, they leaned their heads closer, the space between them smaller. They had grown comfortable enough around each other to laugh freely and easily. Neither of them needed to reach over much to brush hands. It was only a matter of time before the two took their relationship further. But how much time?
Celebi answered that by clasping Bede’s hands. This time Celebi took him through brief snapshots, compounded into a compilation of increasingly intimate moments between Opal and Roger.
He watched the two spend long hours in the theatre, collaborating to bring a creative vision from paper to stage. The table Opal had once occupied alone to assess auditions was now shared with Roger as they bent over stacks of scripts to discuss. They would share a pack of cigarettes during these sessions. Many animated conversations were held, and sometimes they escalated to heated proportions when the two disagreed.
To Bede’s dismay, Celebi brought time traveling to a halt to focus on their most heated argument.
Roger frowned across the table at Opal. “I don’t want to make that kind of change to the script.”
She tapped the end of her cigarette into the ashtray. “It won’t look good on stage. Please, Roger, you need to reconsider.”
“You’re asking me to butcher a character beyond recognition.”
She loudly expelled a huff of frustration and smoke from her mouth. “It’s not butchering. You call rewriting a few lines of dialogue butchering?”
“Yes, because those few lines are the essential pivot to the plot!”
Mightyena was curled up in a napping position close to the table, and at Roger’s raised voice, it raised its head and growled at Opal.
She briefly pressed fingers to her temple. “I don’t know any other way to say this without telling it to you straight: the way you portray this character is sexist. It’s painfully clear to me because I am a woman and you’re not.”
That statement from her stamped disbelief all over Roger’s face. “I’m not trying to be—“
“I know you’re not, but being unintentionally sexist is still sexist.” Opal folded her arms across her chest. “You’re not helping your case by challenging me here.”
“I still can’t see where you’re coming from. I tried. I really did. I think you’re looking too much into it.”
“What more can I do to make you see things my way?”
“Your way? These are my stories.” Roger stood up to glare down at Opal. “If there’s something that I don’t want to change, you’d better respect that.”
“And this is my stage.“ She rose from her seat to get nose-to-nose with him. “Your stories aren’t going anywhere without my say so. Your stories aren’t meant to sit on the shelves. They’re meant to be acted out on stage.” Her eyes narrowed to cold blue slits. “I’ve had years of training and experience on the place your stories are meant to be. So you’d better respect that.”
“We’re pulling out the education and fancy degree cards now? When you know that I don’t have one?” Roger’s voice was sharp with scorn. “I didn’t expect you to stoop that low, Opal, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Because you’re the most arrogant, stuck-up, controlling woman I’ve had the displeasure of knowing.”
Opal flinched back as if he had struck her with his hand. Wide-eyed anger rendered her speechless for a moment, then hurt seeped into her face as her brow furrowed and her lower lip quivered. She crushed the cigarette in her hand and let it fall into the ashtray. What she said next came out tight and clipped, but not to Roger. “Weezing, use Fairy Wind.”
She turned on her heel and stormed away from Roger just as her Pokemon floating nearby unleashed the attack on him. He cried out and threw up his hands, sneezing and coughing while Opal fled the theatre.
Bede too was taken by surprise. He squeezed his eyes shut despite not being affected by the sparkling puff like Roger. He blinked his eyes open in time to catch Celebi flying after Opal. He took off after it.
He heard Roger mutter to himself, “Roger, you idiot.” Then he called, “Opal, come back!”
In a time before Poke balls, Pokemon like Rapidash were kept in a stable. The theatre had a stable nearby. Bede ran outside to see Opal free one of the Rapidash from its stall in the stable. Tears ran unchecked down her face. Once she jumped on the Rapidash, she spurred it to a gallop. The Pokemon, startled and confused by her abruptness, reared back and whinnied before following her command. Bede jumped out of the way as the Rapidash hurtled past him.
“Great. How am I supposed to follow her now?” He asked Celebi. He was a fast runner, but there was no way he could catch up with a Rapidash.
But Celebi hovered in place, watching Opal and Rapidash take off in the direction of Glimwood Tangle. Not too far from Bede, Roger had burst out from behind the Gym doors, still coughing and blinking in confusion at the dwindling Opal.
“Opal, please, come back,” he cried.
But she disappeared with the Rapidash into the woods. A few seconds later, Bede heard a terrible scream. He and Roger broke into a run in response. When they reached the edge of Glimwood Tangle, Opal was sprawled on her back, her face and voice twisted in agony. The Rapidash she had been riding didn’t run off, but remained nearby, stamping its hooves in mixed agitation and guilt. Clearly Opal had fallen off the Rapidash.
Bede stood where he was, frozen in horror, while Roger ran up to Opal with arms outstretched, ready to pick her up.
“No, don’t,” she gasped. “I think I broke my back.” She crushed grass into her fists, and all she could get out next was a ragged, drawn out scream of pain.
Roger had to run back into town to get help, and Opal had to be moved onto a stretcher because she couldn’t even sit up. She spent the rest of that day bound to a bed at the Stow-On-Side Hospital. The doctors there found that she had fractured a few bones along her spine, and had torn several muscles of her lower back.
That explains her bad back, Bede thought. He didn’t think she had gotten it this young, though, in her early twenties. He had always thought it was just from her being so old.
Roger stayed close to Opal’s side throughout the medical evaluation and diagnosis. So did Bede and Celebi.
Opal had a tight grip on Roger’s hand through her painful ordeal, before the painkillers kicked in, and he let her hold his hand.
“Opal, I’m so, so sorry,” he murmured. “This is all my fault.”
“No, I’m the one who shouldn’t have jumped on a bloody Rapidash, of all Pokemon, while I was upset and not thinking straight.” She cracked a smirk. “Not a good idea, Roger. I don’t recommend it.”
He didn’t laugh to her weak attempt at humor. “I hurt you. That’s what led to all of this. I’ve thought about your input on the script since coming to the hospital, and you were right. I should’ve listened to you. I shouldn’t have been so harsh.”
“No. You were right to call me out. I had been arrogant, and...” She trailed off and blinked several times, apparently a bit loopy and scatterbrained from all the medications. “What else did you call me?”
“Stuck-up and controlling,” Roger said in a small voice.
“Ah, that’s right. I had to get off my high horse, so I did. Literally.” Opal laughed at her own joke, then looked like she regretted laughing as she winced.
Roger squeezed her hand. “I don’t know where I would be without you, Opal. I have a place to stay, decent clothes to wear, enough food to eat, a job that I enjoy, all thanks to you.”
She smiled up at him. “Well, I don’t do that for just anybody, you know. You have so much talent that I would be a fool to ignore. I love your vision and your voice, and...” She blushed. “I love you.”
Roger drew away in shock, but didn’t let go of her hand, and his own face reddened. “I...I love you, too.”
Coming from sixty years down the line, this came as no surprise to Bede. Still, suddenly he felt that he was intruding on a private moment, and that he ought to wait outside or something.
Opal drew in a sharp breath. “You...you really love me?”
“From the moment I laid my eyes on you, when you stumbled into me in the woods. Of course I didn’t admit it back then, but you were the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I thought I was hallucinating.”
Roger’s confession made Opal blush even harder. “I fell in love with your voice first,” she said. “You completely drew me in. I can’t remember the last time I’ve ever felt that...that enchanted.” She furrowed her brow. “Perhaps the last time was when I discovered my love for Fairy type Pokemon, when I was a little girl given a Togepi egg.” Then she averted her gaze from Roger, to fix it at the end of her white, clean hospital bed. “I was born into a wealthy and powerful family in Wynwall. I didn’t like growing up there. I wanted to escape. I wanted to prove to the world that I wasn’t a girl who only knew money and things handed to her on a silver platter. So I left for Ballonlea Town. Worked hard under my mother’s tutelage. I tried to leave my roots behind. Apparently I didn’t.” She shook her head against the pillow and sighed. “I am the youngest and only female Gym Leader in Galar, Roger.” Her eyes grew wet with tears. “I suppose, in my efforts to compensate, to prove myself to all the older men, I could never let go of being the stuck-up rich girl I was meant to be.”
Roger reached out to gently brush away the tears on her cheeks with his thumb. “I doubt that you would have given me a second glance if you really are that stuck-up. You can be a little haughty, to be honest, and comfortable with being in charge, but that’s because you run a Gym and a theatre. You have all my admiration and respect for that.” He lifted her hand to kiss the back of it. “You’re not just beautiful, but strong, passionate, and you care so much about Pokemon and theatre. I love you for all of that.”
He leaned over to plant a soft, tender kiss on her lips.
Bede let out a small groan and covered his eyes. Celebi uttered something close to a tinkering laugh and touched both of his hands.
Bede opened his eyes and lowered his hands to find himself back at the Ballonlea Theatre. The actors had finished performing a play and split up after the final bow. All except for Roger, who stood where he was at the center of the stage, and Opal, whose hand was taken by Roger before she could walk away. Along with everyone else in the audience, Bede gasped as Roger lowered himself on one knee and presented Opal with a ring.
“This is not an act,” Roger declared, not just to the audience, but to her. “This is for life. Opal, will you marry me?”
Bede knew that she would say yes. What he didn’t know until now was how that moment came about so publicly, and of course, theatrically. He found himself grinning widely and clapping with the audience as Opal threw herself into Roger’s arms and buried tears of joy into his costume.
Celebi interrupted his clapping by taking his hands. The time-traveling Pokemon never made him leave the theatre, but still transported him to a time when that theatre turned into a site for a wedding.
Amid the gathering of colorful flowers and Fairy type Pokemon, and standing with rows of witnesses, Bede looked up to see Opal and Roger, the bride and the groom, reciting their vows. Their Pokemon stood beside them—Mightyena and Obstagoon next to Roger, and Mawile, Togekiss, Weezing, and Alcremie next to Opal. Looking at her now took Bede’s breath away. Her pixie-like dark hair, coupled with the white, flowing dress and a sparkling lacy veil, made for a stunning, radiant sight. If he hadn’t known any better, he might’ve thought she was a princess. He had seen the old photos, but that didn’t hold a candle to seeing it for himself.
His voice was soft with awe and wonder. “Wow, Celebi...Ms. Opal is so beautiful.”
Opal and Roger sealed the ceremony with a long, deep kiss, becoming husband and wife. This time, Bede didn’t cover his eyes.
Notes: Sometimes I think I’m pushing the envelope with the 12-year age gap between Opal and Roger, but then I think of how the real Maria and Captain von Trapp, the couple who inspired The Sound of Music, were 25 years apart, and I don’t feel as bad.
Speaking of The Sound of Music, musical inspiration for this chapter is: Laendler!
I imagine Roger to look like Gregory Peck, the actor best known for playing Atticus Finch in the film adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird. He was in Roman Holiday too, another favorite film of mine. I just love old timey things, if you can’t already tell.

The Winter Solstice Half-Time Show
Amai trotted out into the unlit arena, pink wool glinting with seaweed glitter that sparkled under the glow of her tail.  That bright point was the only light source in the arena, bobbing with the drum beats of the music.  She hit her mark, a single hoof raising and smashing down into the floor.  A rippling waving of crackling light went out, dissolving into errant sparks when it hit the arena wall.  Another hoof raised and dropped on the beat, and a wave of light rolled out in the opposite direction.  The next beat had two waves flickering to life and traveling away from each other, and from there a series of circular pulses.
The voices joined the score and the ground shifted beneath Amai.  A tower began to rise under her, twisting upwards like a corkscrew to accommodate the ramp that twisted around it to make a path to the top.  The Mareep started to descend, never making seeming to make much headway as the structure rose. Drums thrummed and sparks flew from Amai’s hooves, lighting up the tower briefly.
The light began to fade from the structure, but Amai fed into it again when the drums spoke up again.  She turned as the drums thrummed a third time and the tower neared its zenith.  In the fading light of the structure, Amai bounded to the top, smashing her hooves own on the platform and lighting the tower up for good.
The the lyrics began and a spotlight snapped on overhead, making sure the sheep was illuminated as her wool became brighter and brighter.  Amai frolicked on her new stage.  Hopping about the ramparts and doing simple jump kicks and rolls.
I need a hero!
The spotlight above her shut off, leaving Amai a glittery, pink light above the arena.  Not even a second later a second spotlight shown on the entrance, trained on Koro as he rolled in as a ball of flames.  He swooped left and right, drawing patterns with the wake of his fire before straightening out and making a beeline for the tower.
I need a hero!
The ground several feet before the structure opened up, launching Sayuri out and depositing her neatly in Koro’s path.  Her armor wasn’t quite the real deal and neither was her sword, but the shield definitely was up to snuff.  A good thing too because Koro rammed straight into it.  The Growlithe ground into the hand held barrier, and Sayuri dug in her heels so she could angle it and turn it into a ramp for the dog to launch off of.
Koro went flying, coming out of his roll and leaving hoops hovering orbs of glistening darkness in his wake.  Sayuri snapped her shield to her back and back vaulted through them, hand springing over Koro to block his path again.  She pulled her shield back in front of her.
The music’s piano slid and suddenly the hoops behind Koro were a machine gun of dark energy.  Sayuri danced away from them, a trail of pluming smoke left in her wake as the spheres exploded on impact.  She drew her sword, pointing it at the Growlithe and watching as those same balls of shimmering energy spiraled up the length of the blade and smashed into one another at its tip.  She whipped her weapon, lobbing the large ball at Koro.  It hit the ground where he used to be as the drums smashed in the track.
Koro tucked himself into a tight whirling ball, fire taking on licks of darkness as it consumed the black smoke beneath him.  He hit the ground and veered away from Sayuri, choosing to circle his opponent rather than come straight at her for now.  The drums smashed again and Koro darted in.  Sayuri leapt over him, turning to track him as he corrected his course.  The wheel of flames dove for her again on the next drum smash, this time bouncing in an attempt to catch her if she jumped.  Sayuri ducked instead, crouching low to let the canine pass over her.  Once more he corrected his course, coming back while Sayuri was still crouched low.  She jammed her shield down, angling it so Koro would roll onto it and heaving both dog and shield up with her into a stand.
She bounced Koro a few times, before he finally came out of his roll and launched himself off the makeshift platform.  The Growlithe dug his paws in, facing off with his trainer until the drums came in with gusto.  He charged forward, paying little mind to the fact the spotlight above them went out before the cymbal crash that would have marked their clash.
Above them, still a beacon of pink, Amai exploded.  Fluffy motes of glowing pink wafted in the air around her and the spotlight above the tower snapped on.  She swayed playfully, the wool in the air dancing with her movement and clinging to the static in the air.  She hopped.  The motes did likewise, following her to the top of the ramp.
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet!
The Mareep slid down the ramp, train of wool motes swirling behind her like a cape.  Her spiral descent turned off the lights in the tower secretion by section.  With each level, Amai just seemed to glow brighter and brighter. All that extra charge kept her wool train close and aglow as well.  Amai hit the bottom of the darkened tower in an explosion of light.  Each wool mote disintegrated into glittery, pink sparks that rained around the sheep as she settled to her feet.
The spotlight was traded for the house lights, revealing no sign of Koro but a hole in the ground.  Sayuri stood near the tower, shield out and sword in hnd.  Amai backed up a step as Sayuri charged her, only to be cut off by Koro emerging from the dirt in a shower of earth and spitting fire.  He planted himself between Amai and Sayuri.  Both pokemon stepped back as Sayuri neatly flipped over the brand new crater.
The human’s blade glinted in the light as she swung at Koro, who leapt to the side to avoid the blade.  The the opening created, Sayuri surged forward. She snapped her sword back in its sheath, bending to scoop up her Mareep.  Amai leapt up onto Sayuri’s back and then onto the ground behind her.  Sayuri swirled around, hand barely grazing Amai’s retreating back.  Koro stalked round the pair, waiting for Amai to lunge away one more time.  He spat out a single shining sphere of darkness.
I need a hero!
The next moment it was engulfed in flames.  The flme torrent colored black, creating a wall to divide sheep and human.  Amai made her escape, careening around the tower and trailing sparks as Sayuri used her shield to pass through the flames and give chase.
The Growlithe huffed and dove into the crater he’d dug out before.  He emerged from the ground between Sayuri and Amai again, a black ball of spinning flames and flinging sparks from the electrified dirt.  He hit the ground and Amai hopped up onto him, running to keep her balance as he kareened the rest of the way round the tower.
Amai shook herself, letting tufts of wool come off her.  Sayuri cut through each one, leaving dancing sparks in her wake as she gve chase.  At the bottom of the tower stairs Amai dismounted and her Growlithe ride uncurled.  He spun around to face Sayuri as she approached, backing the pair up the tower ramp.  Once Sayuri’s foot hit the ramp, the ground shifted, pulling away from the pillar to reveal water underneath.  The dark shadow of something shifted beneath the water
As they climbed, Koro clled up sphere’s of energy and Amai whipped with at their persuer with her tail.  Sayuri batted each projectile away with practiced precision, sending the orbs into the water where they exploded into glittering, black smoke.  Once at the top, Amai reared, slamming her hooves down in a shower of sparks.  The lights in the tower sprang to life.
I need a hero!
Sayuri was greeted with fire when she stepped onto the stop platform.  The cone of flames sparked and danced with electricity picked up from the ground.  It fanned out where it met with her shield and she kept advancing until both dog and sheep were backed against the ramparts.  Koro let up on his attack and Sayuri swung her sword down.
The pair split apart, jumping up onto the ramparts and running the perimeter of the tower.  Koro spat a series of glimmering spheres to leave in his wake, and when Amai met him on the opposite edge of the tower, she merely leapt over him.  She did the same with every other obstancle in her way until both were right back where they started.
Lightning came down, striking the spheres, which burst into stars of fire.  Embers and sparks danced in the air, along with the hint of something darker.  Sayurl swiped her sword at the pair of pokemon.  Amai dove off the ramparts but her Growltihe companion launched himself forward.  The dog bounded off Sayuri’s outstretched arm and kicked off her shoulder.  The Mareep darted around her legs as Sayuri stumbled forward and in the next second she was engulfed in flames and tumbling off the tower into the water below.
Amai and Koro hopped back up on the ramparts to take their bow, tower losing light section by section and corkscrewing back into the floor.

It’s only by mere coincidence that one afternoon Marvin and Anraí wind up being the only two people home. Not like Marvin cares. He doesn’t! He’s not going to interact with this weird…demon…thing…whatever Anraí is as long as he doesn’t absolutely have to, and there’s that. He might not agree with keeping such a dangerous person just loose in their house, he might not like him at all personally, but he does have plenty of experience pretending a big problem is not there, and he can definitely apply that to Anraí.
As long as Anraí stays out of his business too, they’ll do just fine.
He does have to bite his tongue when he walks into the kitchen looking for a drink and finds Anraí already there, doing…something. He doesn’t particularly care to pay any attention to what exactly he’s doing. He just breathes in, breathes out, reminds himself that the kitchen is common territory and his friends would disown him if he acted hostile towards their new resident for no reason, and he makes his way to the fridge.
When he does spare Anraí a glance, emerging from the fridge with half a carton of apricot juice, he sees what he considers immediate proof that the demon should be banned from the kitchen indefinitely. He witnesses Anraí trying to figure out how to cut an apple with quite possibly the biggest knife in the whole house. Additionally, it seems like he knows fuck all about how to safely handle anything sharper than a cucumber.
And somehow the sight of a lanky, unfairly tall and positively demonic person apparently not knowing how knives work makes Marvin laugh. “What the fuck are you doing?” he asks, laughter in his voice, and maybe it comes out a little too loud, because Anraí startles and jumps and…
…he flails the knife…
…in such a way and with such speed no one, especially not him…
…ever should.
The knife clatters to the ground as the hand that had been holding it flies to hold Anraí’s other arm instead. Anraí hisses in some definitely not at all human way, his ears pinned back against his head. His tail lashes behind him wildly, and it’s a good thing there’s nothing for him to knock over.
His arm is bleeding.
It’s like Marvin has an angel and a devil sitting on his shoulders, because his two immediate thoughts are “help him” and “what the fuck, he’s gonna get blood all over the white floor!” Which is fair, because he personally has also gotten blood on a lot of white things before and knows how stupid hard it is to get out, but still. Mean.
But the tiny angel wins, because despite everything, Marvin isn’t heartless, thank you very much. So he puts the juice box on the counter and steps closer.
Anraí doesn’t pay attention to him until he gets close, but he also doesn’t seem like he’s going to bite his arm off any second, so that’s a plus. The lashing of his tail slows to a much more leisurely sway, and slowly his ears perk up. After his initial fright it seems like he doesn’t care much for the pain as much as he does for his mild curiosity over “huh, apparently I am bleeding.”
Finally, Marvin breaks the silence. “You okay?”
Anraí immediately turns to look at him, but instead of the snarl that Marvin had expected, there’s just a stupid grin on his face. “Nah, man, look! I made a hole in my arm!”
He seems awfully cheery about it.
“Walk it off,” Marvin snorts and turns on his heal, and there’s that. He picks up his drink on the way out and just fumes to himself. Why would he ever show compassion for this? There was clearly nothing wrong! He’s just as stupidly annoying as he’d always thought!
He ignores the smug voice in the back of his mind telling him that the last time he lived in the same house with someone and insisted on calling them annoying, that someone became his boyfriend.
Marvin shuts himself in his room with his apricot juice, a pokemon game and his completely silent headphones because he has a habit of forgetting to actually turn on the music for a solid hour. He tries to drown his unwanted guilt over leaving a bleeding dumbass demon in the kitchen by grinding his whole team up for the next gym, even though he’ll only use like three pokemon to beat it.
Even if he had music going, he’d probably hear the deafening crash from down the hall.
He kicks himself off the bed while rolling his eyes, because damn it, it hasn’t even been half an hour. But alas, he has to check what the fuck is going on this time, because if Anraí destroyed someone’s stuff he should probably help him fix it.
He opens half a dozen doors before he finds the right one, because the noise was a one-time thing and sound travels weird in this house anyway. Probably thanks to all the magical augmentation and extra rooms and all that. But he finally gets to the right door and finds himself standing in the bathroom, watching Anraí trying to pick up ten things at once from the floor with only one hand, unaware of Marvin’s presence.
“What the fuck did you do this time?”
He finds it absolutely hilarious how Anraí’s tail straightens in alarm like some sort of cartoon cat’s. “Nothing!” he claims, and if the giant mess around him (no doubt originating from the open cabinet behind him) didn’t make it obvious enough that that’s a lie, his tone and volume alone definitely would do the job. He straightens and most of the stuff falls from his hand, but he just looks at them with disappointment instead of trying to catch them.
“Yeah, sure,” Marvin grins, and he steps closer but does nothing to help. This is amusing for now, so he’ll wait it out. He won’t bend his back until he needs to.
“Shut up! You can just,” he vaguely waves the single toothbrush still in his hand in Marvin’s general direction. “Fuck off or something, I don’t know. I’ll clean this up, I know you don’t wanna help.” With that, he leans back down and picks up a box of q-tips by the edge of it, and it bounces dangerously in his hand as he lifts it. His other hand is still yet to join the action, and glancing at it Marvin sees it curled against his stomach, the cut on it scabbed over already despite its size. Weird.
“Stop being a big baby,” Marvin sighs, and without leaving room for protests leans down and picks up twice as many items as Anraí could ever hope to at once. “I should probably keep you from destroying the bathroom, so here. I doubt you even know where most of these go, anyway. Or what they are.”
“You being right about any of those things means literally nothing in this argument.”
Marvin grins, and he takes the box of q-tips from him after putting away all the items in his own hands with ease. “Sounds like something someone losing the argument would say.”
They keep up the surprisingly tame banter while they clean, and they make quick work of putting away everything that’s fallen off the shelf Anraí has managed to dislodge somehow. By some miracle nothing seems to be broken either. Marvin refuses to acknowledge how much their back-and-forth reminds him of the way him, Jackie and Chase would gently bicker with each other over literally anything.
Marvin glances over the once again organised shelf one last time, but he doesn’t close the door of the cabinet. His voice sounds light, almost cheerful when he speaks, like for a moment he’d managed to forget who he’s talking to, or how much he claims he doesn’t like him. “What the fuck were you trying to do anyway?”
“…bandages?”
Marvin’s eyes immediately jump to Anraí’s injured arm, still held against his stomach for safekeeping. “Oh,” and, without thinking, he asks: “Does it hurt?”
“A bit?” he shrugs, and he genuinely doesn’t seem bothered. His whole posture looks relaxed, ears twitching to follow sounds and his tail swaying languidly behind him. Marvin assesses that he sees no signs of pain before he even realises that he’s looking for them. “I mostly just don’t want it to open again. It’s messy.”
Marvin nods. “Understandable,” and turns back towards the cabinet, and closes it. The bandages (some of them, at least) are under the sink, and he makes sure Anraí sees that as he fishes out a roll of them and unrolls a bit of it to see if it’s the right size. “Stephen will be able to do some proper shit for you when he gets home, but I can wrap it up to keep it safe until then. I’d rather not bother with tape and gauze if it’s gonna be undone in an hour or two anyway, if that’s okay.”
“Yeah, yeah, that’s fine,” Anraí nods, a little confused. On the one hand, he doesn’t trust this sudden politeness of Marvin’s. On the other hand, he welcomes it. He obediently sits on the edge of the bath tub when he’s told to and tries not to kick his feet too much. For a little while he watches as Marvin slowly wraps the bandage around his arm in silence, but it doesn’t last long. “Why are you being nice to me now?”
“Because if I let you bleed out, it’s bad for the carpet,” Marvin deadpans without looking up from his work. “Also, Jackie will murder me if I’m not at least a little nice to you.”
Anraí snorts. “I’d love to see that happen, actually.”
“Well, I don’t. Wanting to murder your partner is such a straight people thing, so…yeah, no thanks.”
Now at that, Anraí properly laughs. “I wish I could relate to that, but alas…”
“Oh, be glad you can’t!” Marvin looks up at him and grimaces and wow, he looks ridiculous. But also like someone who doesn’t want to punt his ass through the window in the next ten minutes, which is actually quite the nice change. “Straight people can be insufferable sometimes!”
“So can you…”
“You think that because you’ve never met an insufferable straight person before. When you do, you’ll be missing me!”
Anraí laughs again, and maybe he’s more giggly than the situation would warrant, but fuck it. This is the first time he feels like Marvin doesn’t utterly hate him, and maybe he’s starting to see some of what the others see in him that’s worth all this fondness they have for him. He definitely seems to have a sense of humour that lines right up with Anraí’s own when he’s not using it to snark him out of the solar system.
Staying crouched next to the tub, Marvin waits until Anraí notices that his arm is done being bandaged now.
When he does notice, his face falls in surprise for a second, but then his ears flick upwards and he grins again. “Thanks!” He stands, and that pressures Marvin to stand too because wow, he’s not going to be out-heighted by that much!
“Yeah, yeah, you’re welcome,” he waves his hand through the air and heads for the door. Anraí can follow if he’d like, but he’s sure as hell not going to show any indication that maybe he wouldn’t super mind if he did. “Anyway, have you ever actually cleaned up the mess you made in the kitchen?”
“Uhh...” he trails off and doesn’t look at Marvin. His tail is suspiciously still behind his legs. “Somewhat?”
Marvin sighs. “Okay, what did you do?”
“Wiped it up? Listen, I don’t know how to handle this stuff!” he waves his hands around to emphasise whatever his point is, and his tail goes comically straight again. “It’s red and it’s dark and it’s sticky! It’s still just…smudged everywhere…”
“Okay, okay,” Marvin stands in the doorway, and now he’s clearly expecting Anraí to follow him. “Getting blood off the tiles isn’t hard, so come on, let’s do it. One day I’m gonna have to show you how to get it out of clothes though, and that’s a lot harder. I’ve gotten blood out of white underwear before, this is nothing.”
For a moment, Anraí doesn’t move to follow him. One of his ears flicks in confusion. “Were you…murdering people…in your underwear?”
“Sadly, no,” now that he thinks about it – do demons know what periods are?
“Oh, oh! Right, you humans have your…thingies,” he waves a hand in the air, and it’s clear he’s just forgetting the word. It’s also clear that apparently no, demons have very little idea of what periods are.
“Yeah, they’re bullshit,” he shrugs, and he doesn’t plan to hold up this tangent any longer. He pushes off against the doorframe and starts walking down the hallway. “Now come on!” he calls back. “Time to mop up some blood!”
“That sounds…awfully ominous.”
Marvin laughs. “Oh, it does, doesn’t it?”
