Why Crowley Was an Archangel, And Why it Matters: A Fan Theory
Neil Gaiman has said that Season 2 is a bridging season, setting up what is to come in Season 3, which will be based on a story he and Pratchett outlined many years ago. This season is therefore moving characters into place and establishing facts and mechanics of the Good Omens universe that we need as an audience in order to understand what comes next. It moved Aziraphale back to Heaven, and removed Gabriel and Beelzebub. This season has also been heavy on the references to Crowley’s past as an angel.
Season 2 of Good Omens has been practically inviting us to speculate on who Crowley used to be. If we’d just been given that one glimpse of him in the first scene I wouldn’t make so much of it, but we also saw him return to heaven in disguise and reject an offer of being returned to full angelic status. We have to conclude that there’s been so many sustained hints at this because it will be important next season!
Some of this has already been suggested by others, but GO2 has taken over my brain and I need to write this all out. So, let’s have a look at what we already know about Crowley’s angelic past in-universe, and what else we might be able to guess at from that.
What’s special about Crowley’s powers?
Crowley is the only demon or angel who is shown being able to stop time. When asked about this Pre-S2, Neil Gaiman said the following:
Tumblr media
We first see him do this in Paris in 1793, and the second time to speak to Adam to avert the apocalypse at the end of S1. The first time was something he did casually, while the second required a huge burst of power – it needed to hold off Satan, after all - and happened at Aziraphale’s urging.
A: Come up with something or… or I'll never talk to you again.
Tumblr media
(GIF from fyeahgoodomens. There’s a collection of gifs of Crowley stopping time through S1 here.)
When we see him stop time this season, in Edinburgh in 1827, it’s also directly at Aziraphale’s request:
Tumblr media
This bit is absolutely key to me, as this establishes that stopping time is something Crowley can do that Aziraphale cannot.
This also seems tied to the crank handle of his Bentley. When Crowley has stopped time to hold off Satan, he is gripping the handle in the same way Aziraphale carried his flaming sword, and spins in when he comes to restart time.
C: I'm going to start time. You won't have long to do whatever you're going to do.
Tumblr media
By itself, this doesn’t mean anything. Until we see the same handle at the start of Season 2, in the hands of Angel Crowley. He uses this to start up his nebula, as a tool for setting time into motion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is this the same handle? It certainly appears this way. Like Aziraphale’s flaming sword, was this a gift from God that he’s managed to hang on to for thousands of years (And it just miraculously happens to fit his Bentley)? It certainly seems that the Bentley crankshaft handle is more than it seems, and that Crowley can use it as a conduit for power – as he needed to when stopping time to hold off the ruler of Hell himself.
The link between this object, a relic from his time in heaven, and his rather unique ability to stop time, suggests that Crowley was once an angel of great power.
What rank did he hold?
We saw Crowley return to Heaven, in disguise, in S2 E6, with events hinting that he was once a very high-ranking angel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, we know for a fact he was above the level of Thrones and Dominions. So where does this place him on Heaven’s organisational chart? My analysis here is metatextual – I don’t think looking at external hierarchies of angels is that helpful to understanding the Good Omens universe, so I will only focus on what Neil Gaiman has confirmed when asked, or has been demonstrated within the world of the show itself.
Good Omens has its own Hierarchy of Heaven, but Neil Gaiman has clarified that the Archangels we see are amongst the most senior personnel in Heaven. This runs counter to many hierarchies of angels (which are often contradictory in and of themselves) but is consistent with the depiction in John Milton’s Paradise Lost as well as Jewish tradition, where the highest ranking Archangels are given the title of “princes” of heaven. “Prince of Heaven” is also a term that Metatron applies to Gabriel in S2 E6.
Of the heavenly entities mentioned in the show, we can infer the following angelic hierarchy:
God
Metatron (NG confirms here)
Supreme Archangel (Gabriel, now Aziraphale)
Other Archangels (Michael, Uriel, Sandalphon, in that order – See NG here)
Cherubim (Aziraphale at the Garden of Eden, when he was the Angel of the Eastern Gate –NG Confirms here)
Thrones & Dominions
Principalities(?) (Aziraphale after the Garden of Eden – NG doesn’t state if this is a promotion or demotion, but it feels very demotion-y)
Other lower-ranking angels (As a Principality, Aziraphale was supposed to lead a platoon of angels into battle in S1 – so there must be many levels below him – see NG here)
Scrivners (Muriel and the level Gabriel would have been demoted to. Appears to be the lowest rank in Heaven, suggested by NG here)
There are likely many other levels in-between these that have not yet been mentioned onscreen. Saraqael, for example, seems lower down than an Archangel (addressing Michel and Uriel as “your beatitudes” before approaching them in Episode 1), but above Aziraphale. You’ll notice Seraphim aren’t in this list, because they’ve not been mentioned on screen – but I suspect they do exist in this universe and are a class below Archangels but above Cherubim.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that Crowley was an Archangel, but confirms pretty explicitly that he was once near the top.
So who was he?
Neil Gaiman has stated that his name when he was an angel was not Crowley/Crawley, and the first scene of Season 2 sees a bit of redirection when Aziraphale tries to get angel-Crowley’s name:
Tumblr media
This is quite deliberate, and sets up his name as something important to be revealed later. However, I can’t see why his name would matter to the narrative, unless it’s something recognisable from biblical canon – or, that it’s not necessarily his name, but his rank as an angel that was important.
There are numerous pointed references throughout Season 2 to Archangels, in such a way that feels like the show is setting up for this to be revealed in the future. The misdirection about Angel-Crowley’s name may have been because Aziraphale was likely to have recognised the name of an Archangel.
More than this, I personally do think, that before his fall Crowley wasn’t just any old Archangel, but the Supreme Archangel. This is based on the following 7 points (you know God likes sevens):
The very deliberate way the camera pans to Crowley’s impassive face after Gabriel says “I’m the only first-order Archangel in the room or, you know, the universe.”
Tumblr media
2. Metatron’s statement, “For one Prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice, makes it look like there is some kind of institutional problem.”
Tumblr media
While it’s quite clear that we’re supposed to associate this line with Lucifer himself (and yes, I know NG confirms that's who this was alluding to!), it’s interesting that ‘Prince of Heaven’ is a title associated with Archangels in Jewish tradition and very specifically with Gabriel on screen in the universe of the series. That Jimbriel also repeats this line to Crowley in the bookshop specifically feels significant...
3. Crowley also recognises Metatron in the bookshop, where no other Archangel does. Metatron deliberately avoids using his name in this scene, calling him ‘demon’. Which is not inaccurate, but may suggest the Metatron remembers Crowley’s angelic name. It may also explain Metatron’s very dark look at Crowley as he exited the shop – the two of them have some history.
4. It’s never stated explicitly that Gabriel hasn’t always been the Supreme Archangel since the beginning, but there’s enough vagueness in the text to guess at this. When Michael and Uriel are discussing what to do in Gabriel’s absence, Michael and Uriel have this exchange:
M:There is, of course, no question of replacing the supreme archangel. I am the Archangel Michael, you are the Archangel Uriel. U: We aren't in charge. Right now, as of this moment, Heaven does not have a supreme archangel. M: There is always a supreme archangel.
“There is always a Supreme Archangel!” not “Gabriel has always been the Supreme Archangel!” According to some traditions, the Supreme Archangel was the first angel ever created, which would support Michael’s statement: There is always, and there always has been, a Supreme Archangel, since the time of creation. It’s possible that someone else held this role pre-Fall, and Gabriel was appointed as successor after the War in Heaven.
5. The way the other Archangels behave around him. There’s a wariness, but also a strange deference. On being discovered by Saraqael in heaven, they don’t immediately throw him out, but let him watch Gabriel’s trial – even ordering Muriel to show him it. Michael and Uriel then follow him back to Earth without much fuss, giving him quite a look, while Crowley seems to be enjoying himself:
Tumblr media
(This also feeds into why I think Crowley looked so different during the Job segment. He knew he might encounter a few Archangels he’s not seen for a thousand years or so, and so appears in disguise.) 6. The lightening! I’ve seen someone point out that Crowley’s electric temper tantrum in S2E1 mirrors the lightening used by Gabriel to travel to Earth in S1E6. This could be a coincidence of VFX, or it could be a Clue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. That last conversation between Aziraphale and Crowley:
A: I don't think you understand what I'm offering you. C: I understand. I think I understand a whole lot better than you do.
That’s such a weighted statement, and could be interpreted in so many ways. But, viewed in this light, it sounds like a warning from a former angel who used to be very high up in Heaven indeed – and has absolutely no desire to return there.
Why does any of this matter?
Obviously just theorising here
The story is setting us up for a reveal here – Crowley’s status as an angel, and who he was before the Fall is clearly going to factor into Season 3 in some way. Why tease us with it so much and so often if it’s not important?
In terms of the narrative, a powerful revelation would be that Crowley used to have Aziraphale’s new job. That it led him to asking questions about the Almighty’s plan and then, ultimately, falling. And that the Supreme Archangel, for one reason for another, eventually turns against Heaven – it happened to Crowley, to Gabriel (after a few thousand years), and then will have to happen to Aziraphale too.
I could be way off here, but at some point the show needs to explain why Crowley is so different from other demons and has powers that no other demon or angel seems to possess. A reveal that he was once very, very senior in the organisation of Heaven, before asking too many questions and being cast out, would serve as a explanation and be a meaningful development to the narrative of Season 3.
I don’t think we’ll necessarily get a name (because we don’t need one) – but I do think we will get a rank or some idea about who he used to be, and that’s what’s going to be significant. TLDR: Supreme Archangel Crowley!?

Nebula AU
Maybe I'll write a fic for this, maybe i won't, but here are the basics. Also if this inspires you to write something chuck me a tag cause I wanna see it.
Set during older/later high school rather than freshman year for Danny. However the portal accident still happened at the canon time.
Ghosts are more or less invisible with out tools or certain contamination levels. This also applies to general noise they make, they have to focus extra to be heard by humans. Typically yelling only equates to a whisper when right next to someone if you're a ghost.
As Danny doesn't become a hero immediately and gets to settle into himself first, his ghost form reflects more his track towards being an astronaut. Aesthetic more along the lines of solar flares and start dust. When ghost do actually come through the portal with intent to do harm he gets a helmet and thick gloves and has a sort of jacket layer over top. I imagine that his ghost form suffers from something like what's described in this post, and the helmet and glove and jacket are learned extra thing.
Story stuff. So it turns out when the ONLY ghost to wander through the portal other than little glowing blobs that only hover, is the antithesis of your theories you have to go back to the drawing board. So the Fenton's (kept out of the loop for a couple of months) and GIW are very much good guys and BETTER Scientists. And the militaristic mind set is swiftly put down when all of the subjects (the one) book it at the slightest hint of aggression.
Now Valarie, nicknamed Red Huntress during her internship, interns/volunteers with the GIW as a field watch/interviewer for Nebula. Which is the code name given to a Danny who never introduces himself and as such gets named by vote like a new firetruck by the community.
Hey BTW this is a portal Danny AU in my head.
The basement portal? That is a direct route to his lair, which is an astronomer's dream wrapped in a, you guessed it, nebula. The Wastes (or the area the Fenton Portal spawns in in canon) inhabitants spend a good few months flipping out at the arrival of what looks like a god or something. It's a decidedly "do not fuck with that" thought process.
Danny eventual.y introduces himself and makes friends without the protect the town from day one aspect. They all tussle a bit but the other ghosts go "hey it's a baby" and give him a proper lay of the land.
Cut to 21/2 years later after the Portal Accident, and Vlad decides to be a bastard and go after the adopted mascot.
Now the scientists have all learned that fighting= play/bonding. So they are all wildly caught off guard by the very sudden warpath through the city park.
Vlad doesn't put together Halfa Danny in this AU until well after there's been conflict. And after he managed to expose the active portal to ghosts outside of the immediate area of the portal that are perfectly willing to break into Danny's lair and some have figured out the horror aspect described here: FIC I RECOMMEND
So back to that fight. Ghosts are QUIET, especially Danny who even with the tech, radio/coms that make other ghost audible, has to be boosted to be heard by even other ghosts. (I imagine lots of sign language in this au) So this darling little sky watching ghost screams, a terrified child's noise, as this ghost that looks like a Vampire and a hoard of vultures(?) actively assault the poor thing? God the humans, the humans are scared. Everyone could hear that out side of the coms, and everyone saw it. They got good at televising the ghosts.
Sam and Tucker, decidedly only civilians are terrified for their friend. They know what play fighting looks like, they've been to the lair. Valarie who catches on fast thanks to being the intern bestie to Nebula and maybe future girlfriend to Daniel "Hot space nerd in row 4 of homeroom" Fenton, is forced as fights, proper devastating ones, continue happening to keep her friends away. Especially the first time. Most importantly that first fight.
REMEMBER Danny's portal, not the one in the basement. Well he stretches, upper body desperately crawling away from his lower half trapped by the vultures, keening all the way. Still scarily audible. Then from the gap made of flaring stardust and molten plasma that is the active void that consumes the area his stomach would have been was he human- Comes a raging adult ghost. More than one possibly.
I especially like the idea of Skulker and his missle launcher showing up, being the third ever recorded humanoid ghost, and absolutely steamrolling Plasimus who is not a Halfa as in halfway point like Danny is so loved by the Waste ghosts for being. But rather just half a ghost, a human with a funky little boon.
Now as Skulker has the time of his afterlife chasing Vlad and the Vultures, lets have say Lunch Lady slip out of Danny's portal, maybe one of the more teenagery ghosts too.
Anyways, instant fussing. Danny relaxes enough to stop being a portal to hell and the humans are very careful in approaching them all. What with the older ghost's yelling at the aggressors to leave the baby alone. Skulker is dramatic, and likes embarrassing the whelp.
After this point things beginning to resemble canon more, only the humans have a natural non-guessing gauge of hostility for the ghosts in town.
They figure out pretty fast that the physical portal and Nebula portal only let through friendlies. (Not entirely true but they don't know that.) And the threats, well lets just say Nebula is never caught off guard in his own territory again. He becomes ruthless.
Meanwhile, Danny Fenton has friends both dead and alive helping him fight a guerrilla war against madmen. He sits in class undisturbed even as he tracks the startbursts he knows are his friends protecting him and everyone else untill he's free. He huddles in the attic crawlspace filling out data sheets and pin boards as his girlfriend and best friends scour government documents.
Nebula sits in the portal, toxic light cascading like water around him, watching his parents and GIW agents work in the FentonWorks lab.
He always gives good greetings to those who offer, and when asked he whispers secrets of the universe he's learned from the source over the radio.
The scientists for get to ask for his sources, but when they do they are always both awed and terrified of the sources.
Things go well. And things as always progress.
Link to Doodle I did that actually drove me writing all this.

I have now finished watching Good Omens Season 2
If you haven't already, please block the tag "good omens spoilers" - I won't post anything else until Friday night at the earliest, but after that all bets are off.
@albertinesimonet, I did not manage a full liveblog but I did jot down my reactions after watching each episode, and those are compiled under the cut :)
(SPOILERS!)
Episode 1:
Holy flipping fuck are they actually making the ineffable husbands canon???
Okay.
Look.
I saw that it was trending alongside Supernatural and OFMD. I suspected it was going this way, and the season had ended with some sort of confession/immediate separation.
That did not prepare me for the season to open with Crowley saying "hello gorgeous" to a nebula and Aziraphale being disappointed that Crowley wasn't talking to him. Or for Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy to be playing while Crowley rushed to Aziraphale's aid, like-
This is a fanfic. This is a motherfucking fanfic, and I am pleased to say that my brain is processing it as such, a well-written but ultimately non-canon fanfic (*puts on my "I still have book!omens brainrot" shirt*) that just so happens to have been written by one of the original authors.
Anyway, outside of my snorting disbelief that the first ship that I ever shipped is apparently going canon in one 'verse, I do actually have some legitimate theories, which run as follows:
A. I know this season is the plot-bridge between the original novel and what would have been the sequel, and B. I know the sequel was going to involve the second coming of Christ, therefore C. I suspect this Resurrectionist group that kept getting hinted at in the promos is trying to bring Jesus back, Gabriel found out and tried to stop it, and that's why he lost his memories. I'm a tad bit surprised Heaven as a whole doesn't seem to be involved in the return of their special boy, but I guess we'll see how that plays out as the season goes along.
Episode 2:
Oh hey, I've read this one before! "It's ancient Biblical times and Crowley and Aziraphale are angsting about their orders and finding solace in each other's company" may have never gotten its own tag, but there are certainly enough fics about it that it could.
"Can I be a blue one?" Weird kids are the best.
So the Resurrectionist is a pub, not a group. Still think they have something to do with the second coming, but I'm open to being proven wrong.
Gotta say, I didn't expect Every Day to be plot-relevant. I knew they had it for the soundtrack, but I'm really liking this sort of spooky-mystery-music-mixup they've got going with it - love the way its incorporated into the end credits, too.
Totally down for master-thief Jane Austen, btw.
How many people are writing fics about Crowley and Aziraphale getting caught in a rainstorm and hiding under an awning even as I type...
Episode 3:
How to run a bookshop, a guide by A.J. Crowley: Carry large stacks of books around aimlessly and then toss them on the floor when you get bored.
I'm honestly surprised his awning plan nearly worked. Curses be upon weak awnings, I suppose.
I do like that the Bentley recognizes that it has to play nice with whichever one of its dads is in the driver's seat lol
Okay so they keep drawing attention to the fact that there's flies in the bookshop, and now Beelzebub is acting off. Are the flies like... telepathically communicating Gabriel's worldviews to them? Is that how they figured out he was there?
That bit he said when Crowley mentioned tempests is definitely from the Revelations. I unfortunately don't know enough about the Revelations to draw any new conclusions from this. I know they deal with the apocalypse and the antichrist, but that was S1 stuff so there must be something else...
(That bit definitely sounded like Rapture stuff though, just saying)
Lotta talk about people coming back from the dead, here. It's doing little to dissuade me from my idea that this is all related to the second coming. Their "little" miracle was strong enough to bring 25 people back? Okay. How did Gabriel add his own power to it... and who did he bring back? (Does 1 Jesus = 25 normal people?)
...Okay yeah I just googled it and the second coming (and the rapture) is definitely in Revelations. Apparently the appearance of the antichrist is its herald. *insert 'oh yeah it's all coming together' gif here*
...
Several-hours later addition: When they were talking about gravity Gabriel seemed upset that the book didn't stay where it was put, "it goes down." And that flies go up.
...did he "go down," turning into a human, and is Beelzebub "going up," and that's why they're so worried about finding Gabriel? Figure out what happened to him, so it doesn't happen to them as well? Hmm...
Episode 4:
"The rumors that you two are an item..." Yeah holy fuck they're actually doing this. I don't know why it keeps catching me by surprise??? I guess it's not like, the forefront of the plot, so every time it comes to the front it feels a bit like a new thing, but still.
Aziraphale's smug fucking little eyebrow raise at that "I didn't think you were his type." He's like yeah, and what do you know, hm?
Did not expect the entire episode to be backstory, but that was very cute, especially given how much people fixated on the church scene in S1. That little showcase of their trust, both of them worried it'll go wrong but still willing to try because they feel safe with each other. I like that they managed to keep the tension of the setting, that "I'm pointing a gun at my best friend and this could go horribly wrong" feeling, even when it's well-established that the worst that could happen is paperwork.
Also, Crowley trying really, really hard to give Aziraphale positive feedback on his magic tricks even when he knows they suck. That's true love, right there.
Another showcase of people coming back from the dead. We've had the kids getting "brought back" from shape-shifting, the "resurrectionists" digging up dead bodies, and now actual honest-to-god zombies. I am Sensing A Theme.
...are the zombies still around? What's-is-face the demon did say eternal undeath...
Aaaaaand there's going to be an army of demons dropping in on the local business association meeting. I hope Aziraphale has enough tea cakes for everyone.
Episode 5:
SEAMSTRESSES SHOUTOUT ITS A FUCKING DISCWORLD REFERENCE
I know most people are probably going wild over the Dr. Who references but. It's the seamstresses guild...
I'm sure Mrs. Sandwich and Rosie Palm would get along famously.
In other news wow they're just being blatant about the ineffableness of these husbands now, aren't they? The great thing about that is I'm watching it with my parents and I don't think either of them have clicked that it's going canon - like, they're just interpreting it as a running bit, 'haha isn't it funny that everyone keeps mistaking them as a couple' kind of thing. The same thing happened when I showed them OFMD, neither of them realized Ed and Stede were actually going to be a real canon thing until the kiss. I mean, maybe they've worked out that this is going somewhere by now? But I don't want to ask in case they haven't, because I'd love to see their reaction if it blindsides them.
I am Not Normal about the dancing. Aziraphale's giddy little grin when he drags Crowley to the floor? The fucking. Hand presses. I've probably read too much Jane Austen if I'm going this insane about them just pressing their palms together.
And just... that whole fucking scene. The amount of queer people - either queercoded or just flat-out obviously queer - is making my heart feel full. When Aziraphale referred to the magic shop owner's partner using 'they' before we met them I thought it was just, you know, being polite, he'd never met them and didn't want to assume, but then they showed up in person and folks were still using they and they were so obviously giving a huge middle finger to gender norms I just-
Man I need to watch more queer shows I love this feeling.
And the army of demons is more of a large crowd but, well, still threatening. I like the use of masks to hide demonic traits, clever costuming detail there.
But. My dudes. Don't split up, what the fuck are you doing? You've been here for all of human history, you know how stories go, surely you know things always go wrong when you split the party??? I love protective!crowley, I do, but my dude taking off to bring this mess to heaven's attention is not the way to go about saving your angel. And Aziraphale, buddy, I don't know what you're planning to summon there but I really don't think it's going to go well.
...Maybe he's planning to teleport himself, Gabriel, and the humans up to heaven, too, to get them away from the demon crowd. It would be funny if Crowley and what's their name, Muriel, step out of the elevator and Aziraphale is just. There already.
(I don't think that's gonna happen though. I think everything is just gonna get Worse)
Anyway sidenote Lottie if you've read this far, when Gabriel started talking about feeling like a house I immediately thought of you, I know that's a theme you like ♡
Episode 6:
Jesus Christ!
(Called it!)
So I got a lot of the details wrong, but I was spot on with my two big predictions from the beginning. (Hey that ending reminded me of OFMD and Supernatural, I've got a great idea, why don't we all blog about the three of them and get them trending together-)
Gotta say, I'd only given a passing thought to Gabriel and Beelzebub being a Thing, their shippers must be going wild.
I knew there was a reason they kept drawing attention to that fly.
*Spots fire extinguishers* "Hey is that a Magnus Archives ref-" *Is brutally murdered with a lead pipe before I can finish*
I actually kind of love that Nina and Maggie didn't get together at the end of it all? I had felt like it was all going a bit too fast for them and I'm so glad they acknowledged that. They've got time, now, to work things out, and I love that they left it with the certainty that they'd be there for each other in the future... but not quite yet.
Oh! Oh! Oh! And they fit in the halos-used-as-lethal-frisbees-sequence! That was fabulous, I want to see more exploding headgear.
...anyway I think that's all the little bits I wanted to mention before getting to the Main Event.
I'm actually... not all that devastated about that ending? Like, okay, my heart was breaking watching it, the miscommunication and assumptions leading to a dramatic separation, it's tragic and angsty and oh my god my ship kissed my first ever ship kissed they did it they did the thing-
But. Two seconds after the credits started rolling my mind was already flying to, "oh thank goodness, they've got a Source On The Inside now and they might actually have a shot at stopping the end of the world instead of, you know, being blindsided by it because no one in heaven or hell is talking to them"
Like, sure, major breakup here, Crowley's gonna be pissed and Aziraphale might have to do their silly little "I'm sorry" dance three or four times before they can actually get down to business, but I don't think there's a question that both of them still trust each other immensely and know they can rely on each other to help out in a pinch. They'll be walking on eggshells for a bit, but it's pretty obvious that Aziraphale wouldn't have taken the promotion if he'd known Crowley wasn't going to come with him and as soon as he manages to properly communicate that fact they'll be fine.
(Sidenote, this, right here, exemplifies the difference between Book!Aziraphale and TV!Aziraphale. Book!Aziraphale is way more cynical about the whole heaven-and-hell system, he'd never say "heaven's still the good guys," and he'd be very, very suspicious of a sudden promotion landing in his lap after such a tumultuous sequence of events. TV!Aziraphale might not be the sweet little innocent bean fandom makes him out to be, but damn is he naive compared to his book counterpart. Makes me wonder how much of the hypothetical sequel has to change to work with this plotline - I'd bet my ass he wasn’t an archangel in that one.)
Can Crowley... hear the soundtrack? "No nightingales" like how does he know that's significant? Sir you are breaking the fourth wall-
(And how powerful is he? He's a nobody in hell but he keeps stopping time and could access classified documents up in heaven, something made his and Aziraphale's miracle blow up and apparently it wasn't Gabriel, and he also just brought a whole ass dude back from the dead??? Maybe those "Crowley is Raphael" theorists from S1 had a point)
Anyway, to cap it all off: my current predictions for S3 are the aforementioned ineffable husbands makeup and subsequent spy shenanigans as they scramble to try to stop Apocalypse 2: Jesus Boogaloo; they fail and Jesus comes back, but instead of following the Great Plan he instead chooses to side with "all of humanity against all of heaven and hell" (maybe Adam shows up too to help out?); and Crowley, despite his repeated protests, actually does end up running a bookshop because he doesn't trust Muriel to do it properly.
I summation, yes I am still alive, and very excited for the next season, whenever it happens. Also I need gifsets of the dance scene and that kiss ASAP please and thank you.

Good Omens Theory that I will work into a fanfic one day (S2 Spoilers)
Disclaimer: I just binge-watched the show, and only once, and I have not read the book yet. It's on hold at the library, I promise. I have been in the fandom officially for all of about a week now.
Angel!Crowley (the most popular theory I've heard is that he used to be Raphael) did in fact march up to God and 1) create a suggestion box and 2) immediately fill it with questions. I think this is before Satan/Lucifer fell with the other demons, and God did, in fact, answer Angel!Crowley's questions. All except for one, which was "what's the plan?" God didn't need a plan yet because Lucifer hadn't fallen yet. She was just going off of vibes at that point, and the vibes were, for the time being, good.
Angel!Crowley has lots of questions about the humans, one of my favorites being "are the humans ever going to appreciate my nebulas or are they not going to be smart enough to figure out how to see them with their tiny eyeballs that only see in the visible spectrum?" She assured him that they will, eventually, appreciate his nebulas. Not really the important part. The important part is human nature, because angels already know what is good and right, but how will the humans know? God explains that She and all the angels will teach the humans and they will learn. Smart little things, they will be, She tells him, and we will teach them everything in the Garden of Eden.
Except Lucifer falls. Lucifer wants to corrupt the humans and a lot of the demons get on board with him. Angel!Crowley does not, but he is the one to raise the question (unsurprising at this point) "What's going to happen to the humans?" He's becoming fond of them, after all, and he was going to teach them about the stars. "What if the Lucifer and the demons get to him first? Won't they teach the humans to be evil, not good like we will?"
This is true. Angel!Crowley is exactly right, and it's at this point that God realizes She needs a plan. An Ineffable Plan, to be precise. Angels and demons are going to crowd the Garden of Eden, trying to vie for the attention of the humans to teach them either good or evil. This is not only a problem but a headache. If She doesn't come up with something, the humans will follow the teachings of whoever they hear first, or whoever they have heard most recently. Not good.
"Well, if we're teaching them what is right, won't they know?" Angel!Crowley asks. "Can't they just choose to follow the angels instead of the demons?"
"No," God says, "because they do not know the difference between good and evil. They do not have that knowledge. We were supposed to teach them."
"What if they did?" Angel!Crowley asks. "What if they could choose for themselves?"
That was the most important question Angel!Crowley ever asked God.
"I cannot give them knowledge of evil," She says, trying to think. There must be a way to make this work. "Only Lucifer or a fallen angel could do that. I cannot put that burden upon any angel, and whoever gives them the knowledge of good must also give them the knowledge of evil if they are to be able to choose. They must have free will."
She thinks. There must be a solution. There must be a way to enable Her beloved humans somehow.
"What if I do it?"
"Angel, I told you. Only a demon could-"
"What if I Fall on purpose?"
That question very nearly broke Her heart on the spot. Angel!Crowley usually sounded so confident, so curious, so excited about his questions, but not this one. This question was timid, even a little scared, but oh so brave. "What if I Fall and become a demon and give the humans the knowledge of good and evil? What if I give them free will?"
It would work, She realizes. That is perhaps the worst part. It is the only thing that might work. The first part of the Ineffable Plan is in place.
Angel!Crowley writes his last question on a piece of paper along with his angel name: "What if I Fall on purpose? -Angel!Crowley." For his sake, God takes Angel!Crowley's memory as he Falls, and when he lands in Hell, he only knows two things: that he Fell for asking questions, and that he must tempt the humans into eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
He succeeds. In those days, many angels and demons were preparing to teach and tempt Adam and Eve, but Crawley beats them all to it. Upon his successful temptation, God demands that all angels and demons leave the Garden of Eden, and Adam and Eve are cast out. The angels are corralled into Heaven, and the demons sink back into Hell, unable to match the achievement of Crawley the Snake. The humans have free will.
This raises another problem. Now, angels and demons realize that humans can judge for themselves what they want. Now each side wants to be better. Metatron, in particular, is determined to win another Great War, and he immediately begins writing his plans. God ignores him. This isn't about winning, but about the humans. Angel!Crowley understood that better than Metatron ever will.
Still, She worries. If such a war were to ever happen, surely humans will perish in its wake. The first war was terrible and shook the universe. Humans are fragile, breakable creatures. Even with their knowledge, they are much weaker than angels or demons.
God never speaks to Crawley again (or Crowley, as he would later call himself), but She listens. She always listens to his questions, even missing them as the centuries go by. One of the first ones he asks, just after his temptation when he leaves the Garden of Eden, is none other than, "So what's the deal with the angel? The one who gave away the sword?"
She hadn't heard about this yet. Sure enough, when she looks at the Principality she assigned to the Eastern Gate, he is patching up the entrance but doesn't have the flaming sword he was holding mere minutes ago.
"Aziraphale, Angel of the Eastern Gate," She says, shining down upon her angel.
"Yes, Lord?"
"Where is the flaming sword I gave you, Aziraphale, to guard the Gate of Eden?"
"Sword? Right. Um... uh..."
An amused smile tugs at the corner of Her mouth.
"Big, sharp, cutty thing. Yes. Uh... Oh, must have, uh-- must have put it down here somewhere. Um..."
God has heard enough, and she is laughing as she hears Aziraphale remarking something about forgetting his own head. This angel has lied to Her, to the Almighty, about giving his sword to humans. Aziraphale, too, understands the purpose of the angels better than the Metatron. How remarkable!
It suddenly dawns on Her that this is the piece she was missing. With the flaming sword, the humans will have power to protect themselves, to resist their own destruction. They will be able to fight war, pestilence, pollution (though hopefully not for a long time), famine, and even death.
Without realizing it, God had found the second piece of the Ineffable Plan.
She keeps the slip of paper, the one with Crowley's most important question on it, though he does not know it, in her pocket. It holds his memory, and She protects it. For over six-thousand years, somehow, a certain sword is never destroyed, never rusts, and has a tendency to suddenly catch fire. It never strays far from London. Metatron has long since stopped listening to Her. The Antichrist is born in Tadfield.
Three children pick up Aziraphale's sword and face down three of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The Antichrist, Adam, in all his humanness, stares down Death. Death leaves. When Lucifer's rage escapes Hell and invades Earth, Aziraphale and Crowley are standing at Adam's side to help him and give him strength. Aziraphale holds his sword again and remains steadfast as Adam rebukes his Father-Who-Is-No-Longer-In-Heaven. Crowley stops time just to tell Adam that he has a choice, that reality will listen to his choice.
The Supreme Archangel that replaced Lucifer, Gabriel, has run off with Beelzebub, Duke of Hell. Aziraphale very nearly starts a war by using his halo to protect a pair of lovely lesbians, and Crowley makes up a law the other demons are too stupid to check. In six-thousand years, they have become so human that they love each other, but Metatron is still insistent upon his Great War. He tears Crowley and Aziraphale apart. First, he threatens to write any angel found helping Gabriel out of the Book of Life, and Crowley fears he will lose his angel. Then he implies that Heaven is talking about blaming the rogue demon for Gabriel and writing him out of the Book of Life, and Aziraphale fears he will lose his demon. Crowley tries desperately to get Aziraphale to run from Heaven, and Aziraphale tries desperately to bring Crowley back. Neither of them succeed. Metatron is determined to bring about the Second Coming.
She keeps Crowley's question in her pocket. She makes sure Aziraphale's sword is still safe, out of the hands of angels and demons and instead in the hands of humans. Not yet, She knows. One day, She will return Crowley's memory. One day, she will explain why She did not get angry at Aziraphale for giving away his sword.
One day, She will explain her Ineffable Plan to the angel and the demon. One day, God will tell Crowley and Aziraphale that they ARE her Ineffable Plan.
But not before they redo that kiss properly. She has been watching them for six-thousand years, and by Herself, they WILL eventually figure it out.
Bonus:
Crowley: *replaces Job's old children with his old children three new children*
Gabriel: Aziraphale, are these new children?
Aziraphale: Yep! Totally! For sure, new children.
God: Good to know nothing has changed. Carry on

First I want to say I'm so glad you got to see vol 3 with family and make good memories while having a fun time together. That's always special.
Second, I know people have asked you a number of questions but I'm hoping you won't mind clarifying some things for me? I won't get to see the movie for a few days and I'm trying to better understand because Infinity War was difficult for me and maybe it's dumb but I can't take that kind of shock again.
I'm reading some reviews and comments and from what people are saying the movie is great but Gamora really isn't a part of it in the way she was before. So I guess my first question is she still a big part of moving and shaping the plot? Because I always loved that she had a ton of influence on the story .
My other question is does the movie further develop the relationship between Nebula and Gamora similar to the way vol 2 did? I've read it's clear they have been in contact but most comments say the movie doesn't explore what that's been like or for how long. That it doesn't really follow up on where things were left between them by the end of EG.
I've also read there isn't any team discussion about what took place after EG when it comes to Gamora's death? And no flashbacks to that time to let the audience know more about it? Does this mean grieving Gamora is really left only to Peter?
I guess my last question is was there any exploration of what Gamora feels about her life now that Thanos is gone or any discussion or conversation about what it's been like for her to deal with everything that's happened?
Hopefully this wasn't too much to ask and thanks in advance for any responses you give.
thank you!! I'm very grateful to have a family that loves gotg like mine, I know I'm very fortunate for that.
It's true that Gamora isn't part of it like she was in the past, but she's still an active part of the story and she still is Gamora. She still acts like gamora, and still does things she would do. She's just not, you know, the one we lost, and she's not really interested in being anyone's friend for most of it.
Also yeah, it's pretty clear that Nebula and Gamora have been keeping in contact, but they don't really go into any detail. Which I guess makes sense for the characters, but its still something I wish I could see somehow :/
Yup, no discussion on what happened after EG. If someone mentions Gamora's death, they're immediately shut down by someone else with something along the lines of "She's not dead, she just doesn't remember" which really bothers me and I'll be annoyed by it for eternity. Peter really does kind of act like the only one sad about it.
Thanos is mentioned, like one time by Gamora, and it's not for anything like that. She doesn't talk at all about what she's been up to. We see glimpses into that ofc but no, it's never talked about. Granted, a lot of this makes sense to me, because Nebula isn't too big on sharing mushy feelings, and in Gamora's case its not like these are people she knows and she spends a lot of time purposely trying not to be their friends so like I get it kind of.

ECO BooN Drama Track 2 - Word Games
Part 2
Tumblr media
【 Rikiya Family Residence 】
Yano: Sakura.
Asato: Ramune.
Yano: Nebula.
Asato: Lasagne.
Yano: Newt.
Asato: Tomato.
Yano: Okay, this is like the 20th food you’ve named. You can’t just name off food!
Sitting in one of Asato’s family tea rooms, Yano and Asato sit with some glasses of ice tea and rice crackers, seemingly trying to play a word game together. The two are suddenly interrupted by the entrance of the third ECO BooN team member, Kensaku sliding the door open.
Kensaku: Wow, you boys are energetic!
Asato: Ken sensei…
Yano: Hey don’t ignore…! Oh, hey old man.
Kensaku: Urk! I thought I told you to not address me like that…
Yano: Whatever, oji-san.
As Kensaku crumbles to the ground, Yano seems to take the enjoyment out of the dramatic reaction, laughing at the older man. Asato seems to ignore this all however and begins speaking slowly.
Asato: Thank you for coming out all this way…
Kensaku: Hm? Aw, it’s no problem Asato-kun. Honestly, meeting up with you two means I can leave work whenever I want!
Yano: Really?
Kensaku: No… Important events like company meetings are a no-go.
Yano: Then you’re lying!
Kensaku: No, I can leave any other time! Just not my important meetings!
Yano: Tch, yeah, yeah…
Kensaku: Anywho… What were you two doing? It was nice and peaceful up until I got to the doorway of this room.
Asato: Shiritori.
Kensaku: Shiritori? Like the word game?
Asato nods at Kensaku, before Yano butts into the conversation loudly.
Yano: Well, senpai here is still pretty average with his rhymes! And after a really, really long debate on how to improve we settled on playing shiritori.
Kensaku: I see…
Yano: Don’t judge! It’s a good enough warmup to get a guy knowledgeable on their personal dictionary. That said…
Slamming his hand down, Yano began ruffling up Asato’s dual-colored hair, to which Asato seemed to ignore and stared blankly into space.
Yano: This idiot has the dumb skill of playing the game by only naming food!
Asato: Sorry…
Yano: Sorry ain’t gonna cut it, you hungry monster!
Kensaku: But, now that you mention it, don’t most songs, in general, have a theme?
Yano: Y-Yeah, I guess.
Kensaku: So what’s wrong with picking a theme and playing shiritori like that?
Yano: I mean, you're right. What the hell are you getting at, old man?
Kensaku: I’m saying, let’s make it a challenge.
At those words, the younger boys begin to perk up.
Asato: Challenge…?
Yano: Those are fighting words oji-san. Are you saying that you want to make this a bet?
Kensaku: If it will improve our chances of success in this competition, sure!
Yano: Fine then! I’m in it, but what are we betting on?
That was the moment that Kensaku dramatically pointed at the boys, proudly declaring in a loud voice.
Kensaku: Loser has to buy everyone dinner!
While Kensaku stood dramatically with Asato looking up silently in admiration for the older man, Yano was quick to start complaining about the idea.
Yano: Why are you both focused on food?!
Kensaku: Because. Obviously, both Asato and I are hungry. So it’s only fair we settle it with food.
Asato: Food is a good bet. I’m for it.
Kensaku: See? Asato’s in on it! Come on, don’t tell me you’re scared Yano-kun?
Yano: N-No! I’m in! So let’s do it!
Kensaku: Alright then, so here’s how we’ll go…
— Hours Later —
After sometime later, the boys were far into their round of shiritori. Asato stuck with his food theme, while Yano chose to focus on places in the world. Kensaku decided to amp it up further and stick with chemicals and because of the older man, the group had to bring in one of Asato’s old high school textbooks to check the validity of Kensaku’s statements (mostly on the request of Yano, who was becoming desperate at this point).
Yano: K-Kenya?
Kensaku: Yittrium.
Asato: Umami.
Yano: Mi… Mi…
Kensaku: Oh? Are you struggling Yano?
Yano: Shut up! I know a place that starts with ‘mi’!
Kensaku: You know, there's no shame in admitting defeat, but I won't push you. Take your time and say it, Yano-kun.
Asato: Don’t pressure him…
Yano: Yeah! Don’t pressure me. Mi… Minato!
Kensaku: There you go. To… Toluene.
Yano: How the hell do you know chemical names?
Kensaku: It’s in my job Yano. And… Because I memorized the periodic table for fun.
Yano: You’ve gotta be a mega-nerd to do that…
Asato: Tofu.
Yano: Fuji!
Kensaku: That’s a mountain?
Yano: It counts as a place!
Kensaku: Fine, fine, fine. Let’s see…
As Kensaku fell into hushed state, the other boys sat in silence with him. A minute passed before Asato broke the silence with a small whisper.
Asato: Ken-san? Are you okay?
Kensaku: I’m fine, I just… Realized.
Yano: What?
Kensaku: There aren’t any chemicals that start with the letter ‘j’.
Asato: Really?
Yano: No way, did you just lose?!
Kensaku: I think I lost!
Yano: Ha ha ha! No way, after you tried to be all high and mighty about it, you lost anyways!
As Yano continued to laugh at Kensaku’s shortcomings, Asato silently began to prod at Kensaku’s side.
Asato: So… Food’s on you?
Kensaku: I guess so! Shame, I was hoping you’d pay for it Asato-kun.
Yano: You were gonna try and get the youngest guy to pay for it?!
Kensaku: He might be the youngest, but he’s probably the richest out of all of us!
Asato: No… You must make more than me Ken sensei.
Kensaku: You gotta be kidding me! You’re gonna be able to inherit all this land and this giant mansion!
Yano: Actually, now that you point that out, yeah, Asato’s really rich…
Asato: Oh well, in this game Ken sensei lost so… Let’s go eat.
While Asato got up from the floor to walk towards the sliding door, the two older men stared at the youngest before leaning close to each other and whispering to each other.
Yano: Next time, we gotta team against Asato.
Kensaku: Definitely. If I do plants next time, we can be sure to win.
Asato: Are you guys choosing food without me?
Jolting away from each other, the two older men began shuffling onto their feet, trying their best to nonchalantly laugh off their earlier, extremely obvious scheming.
Kensaku: Of course not! Right, Yano-kun?
Yano: Yup! Come on Asato, you wouldn’t doubt us, would you?
Asato could only stare blankly at his teammates and huff at their strange behavior before responding.
Asato: Sure, let’s eat ramen.
Yano: Come on dude! You’re gonna choose some cheap food?!
Kensaku: Hey now, cheap isn’t necessarily bad! (It would save me my wallet…)
The End
Extra Notes: - Shiritori is a Japanese word game where you say words that begins with the final letter of the previous word. The game usually ends when you say the last letter of the Japanese alphabet. The boys here chose to add the rule of specific genres to each person. There is an English equivalent as well, including word chain. - There really seem to be no chemicals starting with the letter j. I was going to have Yano lose initially and then I ran into that problem and I just chose to let Ken lose. ^^;

Hey, Arc! You mentioned it in passing, but "why would fixing the Cerberus Problem with ME3 have dramatically improved the ending?"
(LONG POST and ALL THE SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE TRILOGY)
GLAD YOU ASKED. I just had lunch with Mum and basically went "okay, so here's how I would have fixed ME3." The goal here is to repair the story with the least need for changing locations and set pieces and the three act structure.
Lets first define The Cerberus Problem.
Tumblr media
Cerberus as the main villain of ME3 was one of the biggest mistakes of the entire game. One, it diverts attention away from the A and B plot of the game (A: Reaper War, B: Uniting the galaxy) and introduces more complexity than the story actually needs. Every single moment of the story that uses Cerberus as the antagonistc force could have just as easily been filled by the Reapers, either by their ground troops or by their indoctrinated forces. Introducing a group of indoctrinated forces to the Reapers already fits pre-established canon. (HELL, HAVE THEM BE SPLINTERS OF CERBERUS GONE EVEN MORE ROGUE. Periodically you can get a call from TIM as he asks for help.)
And two, it runs counter to established canon. Cerberus is explicitly stated by EDI in ME2 to be a small organization, about 150 active operatives in three cells, and TIM doesn't like to grow larger than he can personally keep track of.
Cut to ME3 and I would wager money on the idea that by the end of the game, you've killed more Cerberus troops than Reaper troops. Why? This is terrible.
Also Cerberus makes a bad villain in the scope of ME3. The idea that TIM, someone so careful he won't even meet you in person, who not even the Shadow Broker knows who the fuck he is, who studied Reapers from afar-- that he somehow not only got indoctrinated but then huskified his entire force, like not only is it boring, it's a big ask, and it's a weak retread of Saren. Boo hiss.
So how do we fix it?
Cerberus should have been maintained as The Renegade Viewpoint for ME3.
TIM's purpose in the story should have been to research the Crucible for his own ends and to run his own operations to fight the Reapers, and the game should have leaned into the softening of Cerberus from ME2. Cerberus as the "we don't hate aliens, we just want to forward the human cause" becomes frankly a lot more sympathetic in ME3 which starts with the Council going "HM shit, sucks to be humans but we're not going to help you."
Tumblr media
After three fucking games of being ineffectual shitheels, TIM could very very credibly call up Shepard and go "Listen, you don't like me, I'm not a huge fan of you, but the Council has abandoned us for a third time and if we want to win this, we have to go around them. Earth is dying, we need to prioritize our people."
I think the main conflict could have been more along those lines. Not solely "humanity trying to convince the council species to join the war" but "hey do you even believe in the Council? like, as an institution?"
(Which given what you learn on Thessia, I sure fucking don't.)
What if the coup at the Citadel wasn't just a silly Cerberus power-grab, but an attempt for them to remove the bureaucratic nonsense of the Council?
What if Shepard arrives on the Citadel, and has to decide if she wants to 1. stop Cerberus from assassinating the Council and preserve the false peace in the Serpent Nebula, or 2. let Cerberus take out the Council, and thus basically hand galactic decision making to each individual species, who you have a better shot at convincing?
In option one, the task of cajoling these people into the war is harder, but when the domino falls, they all fall. No more salarians sitting out the war because a sulky Dalatrass.
In option two, you get a stronger showing from the turians, the krogan, and anyone else you can rope into it. (lol remember how the Council fucking left the Elcor to die, i fucking do) But the ones you don't convince are sitting out.
And structurally, you make that decision, then go off to Rannoch to resolve that stickiest of wickets, then return to the Citadel after and see the effects of your prior decision. It works great as a small 'time skip' for the world state, giving time for the galactic community to figure out what they want to do.
This also fixes the Control ending.
Tumblr media
Having played the ending within the past 24 hours, I was struck by how fucking hard the game pushes you towards Synthesis. It's transparently considered by the game to be the "correct" option. And as someone who finds Synthesis deeply fraught when contrasted to the main themes of Tuchanka and Rannoch, I bristle really fucking hard at that.
The final fucking decision of this trilogy should not be portrayed like that. Synthesis good, Destroy okay, Control BAD.
But if we remove the problem of TIM being a dumbass who got his ass indoctrinated and was Clearly Manipulated, then you can have TIM actually represent the option of Control without that miasma hovering over it. TIM being not a villain but not a good guy, but going "listen, if we control them, we can advance our technology, we can repair the damages of these wars, and we don't have to kill off your good good friends the geth, Shepard, you sentimental fuck."
The decisions in Mass Effect are at their best when they are not Good vs Evil, but Principled vs Pragmatic. And making Control the Renegade choice instead of the Bad choice gives players more agency and ownership over that final decision.
Another benefit of this tactic is the ending pacing is not so terrible.
If you haven't played it recently, the finale of ME3 is a mess. You have the cool and dramatic setpiece of the charge to the beam, good.
Then you have the confrontation with TIM, which was a mess and pretty terrible tbh.
AND THEN you have ANOTHER WHOLE ENDING. An ending that needs 10 minutes of fucking explanation from the Catalyst so you even understand what's being asked of you.
COUNTERPOINT: Remove TIM as the Ending One baddie. Have everyone figure out the vague parameters of the Crucible in the third act, before Shepard reaches it, and then have people advocate for each ending, and advocate honestly.
Like, Hackett is like "We came here to destroy them, we are willing to do whatever it takes, to pay any price, so Destroy them."
Have Liara maybe suggest "There's another way, we can synthesize and then eliminate this chasm between us and the Reapers, however we all will also be synthesized, but while we lose part of who we are we would gain so much more."
and then have TIM like "How about option C, for Control These Fuckers. If we destroy, we will lose all the advancement of our species, we'll potentially lose the relays, instead lets control these fucking things and make them pay for the hundreds of civilizations they have consumed. Let's not just get revenge for us, but for everyone, Shepard."
Tumblr media
Isn't
That
A more interesting and sticky choice?
And then if you don't have the confrontation with TIM in the end, you open the Citadel arms, go directly to the Catalyst, and make your decision without the fucking Star Child there to talk to you, thus maintaining the dramatic momentum of the finale and then giving you your ending.
Does this fix it?
Personally, I don't think the Three Options ending can be fixed. But i think this way would drastically improve it while also solving a lot of the problems of the game. And this maintains the arc of the game, doesn't require massive changes to the setpieces, and remains in the parameters of what we got.

The Phoenix and the Dragon
Tumblr media
Yet again we've arrived at Ulquihime week! Gotta confess I'm not much of a Christmas person but I do look forward to December for my OTP week. Everyone puts so much love and effort into their entries that it's hard not to be excited. Okay so today's theme is Crossover and I wanted to pick something that wasn't likely to be repeated by someone else, so leave it to my nostalgic mind to go 'What about a Winx Club crossover?' Thus here we are! This little one-shot is based on one of my fave childhood shows and one of the first villain ships I ever had. (Yes, my 10-year-old self hardcore shipped Darkar & Bloom) 😅 Hope you like it! (Spoilers for some aspects of season 2 of Winx Club. I'm taking from the 4kids version of the show and Nickelodeon special btw. And some mild spoilers for the second movie.)
Also for those who do know the winx cast and want to know who is who in the crossover here it is.
Orihime- Bloom
Ulquiorra- Darkar/Avalon
Tatsuki- Stella
Shizuka- Layla
Ichigo- Prince Sky
Isshin- Errendor
Sora- Daphne
Unohana- Faragonda
Okay now that's all set, here's the fic!
@ulquihimeweek
Ulquihime Week- Day 1 Crossover
The Phoenix and the Dragon
Orihime awoke in a dimly lit room. She didn't remember much, just going into Professor Schiffer's office and then...'And then he changed and turned into the Phoenix.'
"I can sense you. Just come out of the shadows already." She muttered.
Ulquiorra obliged, no longer looking like a human but in his true form as the Shadow Phoenix.
To her he didn't look much different, his skin was paler but his other features remained the same. He had large dark wings and a tail, along with tear markings.
"I should've known it was you. We get warmed about a Shadow Phoenix and next thing we know a new professor shows up at our school."
He chuckled. "Yes well, that didn't occur to you as we bonded, Ms. Inoue."
She lowered her head in shame. Since Ulquiorra arrived at Alfea he had become her favorite teacher, and even offered to teach her about her home kingdom, Sparx, which had been destroyed when she was just a baby.
"Is that why you brought me here? To taunt me?!"
"No, darling. I have other plans for you. Or should I say us?"
"I'll never collaborate with you!"
"You say that now, but you might change your mind after I explain my plans to you."
She frowned, but at the moment there was nothing she could do. Orihime sighed. "Fine. I suppose I can listen to you for a while."
"I appreciate it. First I must ask you something. What do you know about me, Orihime Inoue? Who do you think I am?"
"Headmistress Retsu told us you were once human. That you came to the underealm to try and find the shadow fire, but that it's power consumed you and that now you're seeking to take over the magic universe.
I also know that you came to our school and posed as a professor until now..."
"The headmistress is a wise woman, studious too since she appears to know my origins well, the one commonly excepted that is."
"What do you mean?"
"Indeed, I was once human, that I came here to study the Shadow Fire, but it's power didn't overtake me. For you see, I willingly submitted to it. I'm the one in control, always have been. And while I do wish to take over the magic dimension it is not for my own gain."
"Why else would you want to take over?"
"I want this dimension to change. I want to tear down the structures that bind its kingdoms. I've wanted that since I was a human.
You see, darling, the structures of this dimension are so very ancient and so very obsolete. The squabbles between kingdoms have led to so much war, to destruction, to sadness... Just look at what happened to Sparx."
"My kingdom was destroyed by the ancient witches. Not by war."
"You're right, but your kingdom had a close ally. An ally that should've saved you from the witches, yet instead bargained to have them take your kingdom and spare them. The king of Eraklyon made said bargain."
Orihime grew dizzy. 'No, no it can't be! Ichigo's father wouldn't do that! This is a lie!"
"You think I'm lying, don't you?"
"Of course you're lying! King Isshin wouldn't do that, neither would Ichigo!"
"Analyze the situation, darling. Eraklyon was your closest ally, and yet they didn't suffer any damage as Sparx was destroyed. Your parents vanished, your brother died saving you, your planet is now an icy wasteland. Yet Eraklyon stands as the richest land in Magix. As for your little prince, he was merely a child when this took place, but I don't doubt he'd keep it a secret from you, he has done so before."
Orihime felt as if her skin was catching fire. She hated to be reminded of that lie, to think back when Ichigo had hidden his royal lineage and engagement to a princess. She'd forgiven him, of course, and they were a couple once again, but deep inside she still distrusted him. And a part of her did think Ulquorra's words were true.
'Maybe that's why his father disapproved of us. Not because I'm a princess of a destroyed kingdom, but because my kingdom's destruction was partly his fault...'
"You see, darling. That's only one example of plenty I can give you. All of these realms need someone truly wise to rule them."
"Even if I believed you, that doesn't mean I'll join you. I don't want to kill anyone."
"Who said anything about killing? There are plenty of ways to dethrone a ruler. That's what I crave to do darling. Imagine it, a dimension without destroyed kingdoms, without arranged marriages, without squabbles for the throne. We'd be the only rulers, the royals would be our regents, they'd have to abide by what we demand."
Ulquiorra's eyes glowed green as he spoke. She had seen him like that before in his humanoid form. His eyes always sparkled as he thought her class about History and asked them to be part of the change.
"Ulquiorra, I think it's wonderful that you're trying to make the universe better, but I fail to see why would want me to join you. I'm no leader."
Orihime felt Ulquiorra's cold hand gently lift her chin. "Orihime, you're the only person I've ever met worthy of wearing such a crown.
The reason I posed as a teacher at Alfea wasn't to further my plans, or to steal the codex but to observe you. In just a few months you made such great progress that I couldn't help but be convinced you were worthy of sharing my crown, of carrying the dragon flame, of ruling over Magix.
You came from Earth yet quickly adapted to this dimension, to its power and its costumes. You're kind, fierce, strong, I couldn't ask for a better queen."
He noticed Orihime's pale skin turn bright red, and her sliver eyes grow misty. "No one's ever really praised me like that. Thank you."
He smirked. "I'll be sure to do so more often in the future then."
With a snap of Ulquiorra's fingers, her bounds disappeared. Orihime stood up, directly facing Ulquiorra.
He took her hands in his and directly stared into her eyes, silver meeting emerald. "Orihime Inoue, will you join me in my quest to bring peace and order to the magic dimension?"
It wasn't easy, she didn't want to leave her friends, her school, or even Ichigo. Even after what she learned it felt wrong to vanish without a word.
'But it must be done. Tatsuki-chan will be free to choose who she marries, Nemu-san won't be forced to follow the path her father wants for her, Shizuka-chan won't have to take the throne of the harmonic nebula...even Ichigo would now be free to make his own choices. This would be for the best.'
With a beautiful smile and newfound determination, Orihime finally responded. "Yes, I will."
"Then it is done, our power is now bound."
She could feel a surge of dark magic taking over, but it wasn't unpleasant. Her characteristic blue fae dress was now black and her fairy wings had turned grey. Orihime also noticed Ulquiorra's form slightly changed, his dark wings now had accents of green and he resembled his humanoid form a little more.
"It's the bond." He told her after noticing her confusion. "Light cannot exist without dark and vice versa. As such my darkness had to take some of your light and your light had to take some of my darkness."
Shadow Fire & Dragon Fire were united at last. Orihime was certain that now she and Ulquiorra would be unstoppable. 'We'll fix everything soon.'
"What shall we do now?"
"Since I've acquired all the pieces of the codex, I was thinking we could go to the Relix dimension. Your parents might've vanished there after the destruction of Sparx."
"My parents...I never thought it'd be possible to reach them."
"It is, my darling. We'll bring them back and then return Sparx to its former glory. After that, we can finally reshape the magic dimension into what it should've been from the beginning."
For the first in a long while, Orihime felt like she was doing things right. It would take her friends some time to forgive her, but she knew in time she would join them again. 'I'm doing this for all of us. For me, and for him.'
She gently kissed Ulquiorra's cheek, he blushed at the gesture. "I was not expecting that."
"I'm still a little miffed at you for pretending to be a professor but if we're to be in harmony as rulers this is a good place to start."
"Then I guess I should do my part too."
Ulquiorra wrapped his arm around her waist and gave her a passionate kiss. Orihime quickly blushed and playfully shoved him as he let go of her.
"Show off."
"Guilty as charged."
"Y'know, I remember seeing paintings back on earth with dragons and phoenixes together as a couple. Do you think that was a prediction?"
"It could be, after all, the most enduring romances are likely to echo through many universes."

💫 preview 💫
────────────────────
"For the very first matchup of the day, we have the royal, the regal, Kiara!" Blader DJ announced. "And her majestic bey, Cassiopeia! Oh yeah!" Kiara made her way to her post by the stadium, the crowd cheering wildly for her as she entered. "Her opponent is the strange shooter, Captain Capri!"
"Watch me take the queen by her crown!" Captain Capri smirked as he stood opposite Kiara; he was a short boy, possessing a bright blonde afro and sharp brown eyes, one of them covered by a unique aiming device which he was known for using in his battles.
"Here we go, bladers!" Blader DJ declared. "Alright ready!"
"Zero, six, two, three, comma, four," Captain Capri spoke whilst adjusting his compass launcher. "Correction. No. Zero, six, two, zero. And lock."
"That's fucking weird," Kiara muttered under her breath.
"3! 2! 1! Let it rip!" Both beys were launched into the stadium and Cassiopeia was instantly attacked from all angles by Storm Capricorn, Captain Capri's bey.
"What's going on?" Kiara questioned.
"With its Quake performance tip, Capricorn can jump around crazily!" Blader DJ announced. "Cassiopeia is at its mercy. It just can't keep up!" So that's his little trick, Kiara realised.
"Okay. This is gonna be fun," Captain Capri spoke. "Time to get rid of the queen in one special move! Capricorn! Spin Screwdriver!" Capricorn launched itself into the air, Kiara observing the uselessness of the Quake performance tip once the bey had ascended. Since the performance tip isn't in use, I can tell where the attack is coming from, she thought. Perfect. He set up his own trap!
"Thanks for the favour," she chuckled.
"Huh?!" Captain Capri exclaimed. "What do you mean?"
"You set up your own trap. Just look," she continued. "Since you're trying to attack me from above, your Quake performance tip is absolutely useless. It allows me to know where the attack is coming from, which is something I don't have trouble dealing with. Cassiopeia! Special move: Imperial Barrage!" Kiara's bey began speeding around the stadium before charging at Capricorn, sending it flying and landing beside Captain Capri's feet.
"And the first match goes to," Blader DJ began. "Kiara!"
"A walk in the park," the girl smirked, retrieving her bey.
"No! This can't be," the blonde blader whined. "This just can't be happening!"
Kiara made her way to the others and was met with smiles and hugs as they congratulated her. They then headed to the seating area to watch Kenta's battle with Tetsuya, which ended in a win for the young boy.
"You did it!" Kiara congratulated Kenta, giving him a high five as he returned to the seating area. "I'm so proud of you!"
The group of friends then watched the third match, which was between Teru and Ryutaro. The match ended with Ryutaro's win, which upset the group as they had been rooting for the former. Following that was the insanely intense battle between Gingka and Yu, in which Yu lost. The crowd cheered wildly for Gingka's win as he made his way back to his friends and celebrated with them. A short while after, the group of friends were back in the preparation room, waiting for Hyoma's battle to begin. Kyoya had won his first match with Benkei, and Tsubasa had defeated Reiki in the battle after that. Blader DJ announced the start of the match, allowing everyone to make their way to the seating area whilst Hyoma went to take his place beside the stadium.
"Good luck, Hyoma!" Gingka cheered from the audience.
"It's gonna be an easy win," Benkei added.
Both Hyoma and his opponent were introduced, a Dark Nebula member named Reiji, a tall, slender boy with striking red hair, a blonde streak running through his fringe, and piercing yellow eyes that narrowed into slits like that of a venomous snake, using a bey called Poison Serpent.
"He's another blader from the Dark Nebula," Gingka spoke.
"Yes, but I've never heard any name like Reiji mentioned before now," Madoka commented.
The battle began shortly afterwards, with Aries attacking Serpent, although causing no damage. When Reiji's bey finally struck at Aries, it was able to push it back, however, Hyoma used his special move Wind Storm Assault to dodge Serpent's attacks with its Eternal Defence 145 spin track. Aries then charged at Serpent in a counterattack, the crowd cheering him on. Moments later, Gingka gasped in shock.
"What's wrong?" Kiara asked. The crowd then began booing as the battle was making no progress. "What's up with this?"
"Argh, that's enough, Hyoma!" Benkei exclaimed, frustrated at the lack of a fight. "Now it's time to send this guy flying out of here!"
"He probably won't listen," Madoka spoke. "You know how Hyoma likes to battle cautiously, Benkei."
"He might surprise us," Gingka began. "Hyoma seems strange somehow. To me, it looks like he isn't sure how to defeat this opponent."
"Yes," Kyoya added. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"Keep it together, Hyoma!" Gingka yelled once he realised Hyoma was looking uneasy. "Don't let him get inside your head!"
"You can do it, Hyoma!" Kiara cheered. Hyoma then unleashed his special move, Horn Throw Destruction, but to no avail as Serpent was able to easily withstand it, defeating it in an instant.
"Woah!" Blader DJ exclaimed. "Serpent has completely stopped Aries' special move! Aries is the one that's sent flying!"
"Aries!" Hyoma cried as he watched his bey barely land back in the stadium. Aries was able to dodge Serpent's attacks once again, however, Hyoma was taken aback once Serpent began circling around his bey, restricting it completely and leaving no room for escape.
"Has Serpent's attack power increased somehow?" Gingka questioned.
"No. The power of its attacks is the same as before," Madoka informed. "Serpent hasn't gotten any stronger. Aries has actually gotten weaker!"
"How is that even possible?" Kiara asked.
"Yeah, I don't get it," Kenta began. "Up until now, Serpent's attack had no effect on Aries at all. Isn't that right?"
"It's poison," Kyoya pointed out, grasping everyone's attention. "Every time that Serpent struck, it injected some poison to slowly weaken Aries."
"That's insane," Kiara gasped, looking back at the arena. Hyoma attempted to escape Reiji's attacks using Aries' spin track but was unable to do so as Reiji began using his true strength in the battle, taking everyone by surprise. Soon afterwards, the lilac-haired blader began yelling crazily at his opponent, shocking his friends who watched him from the audience.
"This isn't the calm Hyoma we know," Madaoka spoke worriedly.
"I have never seen him act like this before," Gingka admitted. "Get a grip out there, Hyoma! It's not like you to go and lose your cool!"
Aries was suddenly flung into the air by Serpent, causing Hyoma's eyes to widen in panic as Serpent ascended into the sky to attack it endlessly.
"What is this?" Blader DJ gasped. "Aries is helpless, but Serpent continues to attack mercilessly!"
"Stop! Stop it!" Hyoma cried, tears escaping his eyes as Reiji cackled evilly. "Please, stop it now!"
"Dark move," Reiji spoke, sending everyone into a shock.
"Did I hear that right?" Kiara whimpered as she felt shivers run down her spine.

(Your) Friendship Reaction: Friday Night With The Girls!
A fairly casual Friday night sleepover with your best friend(s)
Karina:
She had asked you to come over tonight to play games, eat, drink, sleep. Maybe some scary movies. However, the plan seemingly changed when showed up to her place and found her in the bathroom bleaching her hair with a box of burgundy hair dye on the sink in front of her.
Karina definitely isn't shy about dying her hair, she changes hair colors like one would change out a load of laundry. It feels like every time you see you she has a new hair color, so this really isn't new. It's also not new for her to switch plans last minute cause truth be told, she never knows what she wants to do until that moment hits and an idea springs into her mind.
As she continued bleeching her hair, you hoped up on the sink counter and watched her while you talked. She said you could use her nail polish, mess with her makeup, do whatever you wanted. Play whatever music you wanted. If you liked, she even offered to dye your hair as well since she has plenty. It was up to you!
You guys ended up talking about a number of things. Discussing the latest episode of your favorite tv series and guessing what would happen next using logic from what has happened thus far. She laughed at random jokes and lines you repeated from the show, knowing exactly what scene you were refering to as she commented back with the next line. Afterwards y'all talked music videos, celebrities you both like and dislike maybe. Filled each other in on the news (celebrity or politics). Once the bleach was in and her hair was held up in a plastic bag, she went to grab her keys so you could both go grab some food, she let you choose the place.
It was always kinda weird how shameless she is but at the same time, her confidence about it is inspiring and one of her best qualities. Anywho, hoping in her broken apart damaged black car that no-one knows how it's still running, Karina drove you guys to the restraunt and put in your order picking up the food and driving back JUST in time for her to wash out her hair.
You ate as she washed her hair and attempted to eat little bites of her food as she applied the hair coloring, not wanting to waste time in between. As you low-key called her gross and made jokes you still helped her eat while feeding her little bites of food, teasing her sometimes and making her chase the fork/spoon/iteam. Overall, the eating process was full of laughing and her threatening to dump the hair dye on you just for you to threaten dipping her food in the hair color changing soup in return.
As her hair dye had to sit in for 45 minutes, the two of you watched music videos and played kids monopoly, or jenga. As they're the only games she currently owns! Karina being the not-so-well-focused girl that she is, ended up losing for silly reasons. In jenga she lost because she didn't realise 2/3 of the blocks in the middle row had already been pulled out, since she was eyes glued on the video, and she ended up pulling the last block and knocking the whole tower over in the process. During monopoly she simply had bad luck of sitting in jail throughout half of the game, allowing you to buy the majority of the properties. The other half the game she was paying you and the bank causing her to go bankrupt with only one or two properties being owned by her.
After the game you end up helping her wash out and dry her hair upon her endless begging you to just for her in the end to decide she isn't sure how she feels about this color. After spending about 4 hours total on her hair, she kinda wishes it was still black but she decides to leave it anyways. Insisting she'll clean up the bathroom mess tomorrow (she won't) she pulls you back to the living room and puts on your favorite movie for you guys to watch in the backround while sharing random stories back and forth.
Ciara:
Ciara isn't entirely sure why she invited you over at night knowing well enough she isn't a night time person. She's usually asleep before 11pm. However, she's really missed hanging out with you lately and your presence alone gives her so much energy and makes her happy.
When you arrived, she was eating a bowl of cheerios and drinking some gatorade while scrolling through instagram looking at denim skirts. The first thing she said to you as you walked inside the house was 'what do you think of this?' As she held her phone up to show you a light blue denim knee length skirt with a yellow sunshine on the bottom right side. You gave your opinion on it as you sat across from her at the table. "You're welcome to the kitchen. I don't care what you eat as long as I don't have to make it." She pointed towards the kitchen as she continued to scroll. Almost dropping the phone in her bowl of milk, as you made your choice on what to do, Ciara ended up slapping the phone back at herself and hitting herself in the face with it. Laughing and half crying, she placed the phone on the table and held her nose. "Maybe I should put that down for now!" She stated fairly loudly before getting back to her food.
After eating and placing the dishes in the sink for her to wash later, Ciara headed to her room with you close behind. Forgetting she had washed her sheets earlier, Ciara had to now make her bed. She asked you for help putting the bottom sheet on, let you choose your own blanket from the closet, she made the rest of the bed half efforted. Wrinkles covered the sheets and the pillows were simply thrown at the top of the bed but she didn't care much since you guys were both going to be laying in it immediately anyways!
Crawling into bed to lay on the side closest to the window, Ciara situated herself before tapping the bed beside her for you to lay down. Knowing you well enough, she handed you a book you love/turned the tv onto your favorite channel and let you do your own things as she scrolled through instagram once again occasionally asking for your opinion on certain clothing iteams.
If you have any to share, she listened to you share your thoughts, about whatever was on your mind. She gave her advice and shared her honest opinions in return. If you just wanted to lay there and watch your show/read your book she was fine with that too. She just wanted to be with you and hang together. Not necessarily do something together, that's what tomorrow is for!
At some point, your unsure of when, she managed to fall asleep facing the wall using her arm as a pillow, her actual pillow tossed to the foot of the bed. She was curled up halfway in a ball half stretched out, taking up half the bed space. She looked peaceful, almost dead she was so still and quiet, but peaceful.
Monse:
She had everything planned out! Dinner: Taco Bar! She made different kinds of main fillings based on your tastes and hers. Included little things she knows you love and she set the table up in a very aesthetic and neat way. Drinks: at the store she made sure to buy a few of your favorite drinks as well as a case of water. She also made homemade punch using sherbet ice cream and 7up/Sprite. Outfits: She had your guys matching Marvel/DC robes ans pj sets pulled out and on her bed. Hers was a Nebula/Poison ivy (depending on which one you prefer) set while yours was Gamora/Harley Quinn (dending).
Once you got there, you guys would eat then change. As you ate, she asked all about your day, let you rant and get everything off your cheat if need be. She told you what you wanted to hear and what you needed to hear as you guys discissed several topics. After eating she let you use the bedroom/bathroom to get ready first while she cleaned up the mess before going to change her own clothes and get ready for bed.
Afterwards, she set up the table with posterboard, construction paper, assorted art supplies, ect because tonight you guys will be making your own board game! Whether it be a toally made up game based on shared thoughts between you two or a remake of an already owned and made game. EX.: Marvel/DC based monopoly. Twister using memes. Your own version of battle ship or LIFE. Whatever it may be!
As you both divided up the jobs of who does what parts and as you agreed upon one main idea for the game/gave ideas for the game, Monse played your guys 'Alien Dreamz' playlist AKA the music playlist you guys made last time you spent the night. The whole time y'all were making the game she kept making really bad puns. As she was measuring the cardboard she came up with 'whos the King of school supplies? The RULER!' Before laughing at her own joke. She asked: 'Whats a frogs favorite art supply? Ribbon-t, Ribbon-t' and actually sounding like a frog as she cut ribbon for decoration. The list is endless honestly.
While working on your guys project, between her bad jokes, she complimented you on random things that she genuinely adores about you. Like how pretty/handsom/cute you look when you're focused. Or how she loves the way your hands look as you use a pair of scissors. How soft your eyelashes look. How much she loves your laugh/singing voice. Ect. If you compliment her back, she'll blush and giggle feeling shy but so happy under the surface.
Eventually, she gets really tired and asks if your ready to go to bed saying y'all can finish the game in the morning. You end up laying on the bed she made on the floor out of twelve dozens blankets and pillows, stuffed animals and sheets. While you lay together you share a bowl of popcorn/snack of your choice while watching the Simpsons or any tv show you want if you don't like the Simpsons. She tries so hard to wait for you to fall asleep first so you won't feel lonely but she was so tired she ended up falling asleep a few minutes before you do.

Question of the Day:
Can you/do you stay up late or fall asleep at a decent/early hour?
My Answer:
Depends on the day! Some nights I'm asleep at 7pm some times I can stay up for 80+ hours. It just depends!

Gendry noticed her the very first week of the semester.

A Dance of Shadows by Faiseuse_d_Histoires (29/50 as of 13-3-20) (significant Gendrya with Jonerys)
It’s been one year since the death of Daenerys Targaryen, called by some "the mad queen", and the North and the Six Kingdoms try to rebuild all that was lost. Jon Snow had disappeared beyond the Wall, his wolf last seen near Hardhome. Queen Sansa "the Wise" is facing unrest in the nearby villages, which leads her to make questionable choices in the eyes of her people. In the South, king Bran the Broken fell seemingly ill and fear for his life makes people uneasy about the succession.
As once again instability risks to break the kingdoms, a hero reappears, with the name of a long-feared enemy, and an old song is beginning to be sung once again, with fire and ice meeting for one last dance.
Not mentioned, but coming: Some news from the iron islands and Dorne, trouble coming from Essos… oh, and some resurrection, perhaps.

The Prince That Didn't Come by @igitnothin (61/63 as of 13-3-20)
On an normal winter day, Hot Pie happily delivered two meat pies and a jug of ale to a waiting table.

Or Arya Stark does not visit the Crossroads Inn, and the world of ice and fire is changed forever.

then we take berlin by @evax3 (14/20 as of 13-3-20) (equally Theon/Robb)
After Petyr Baelish tragically suffocated on a gigot before he was able to poison Jon Arryn, Westeros fought in united strength against the White Walkers and built up a diplomatic relationship with Queen Daenerys in Meereen after the victory.
So, the land was at peace, the winter was over and 2 years later Theon, Robb and Arya sat together in Winterfell, bored to fucking death.
Fortunately, distraction seemed within reach, as Theon discovered a book in Maester Luwin’s library, maybe solving their problem. Promising the opportunity to travel back in time and experience one of the big battles again, they’d fought in the past.
But mixing the ingredients, something went wrong and instead of arriving back on the field of the second Battle of the Dawn, they found themselves in Berlin of the 21st century, still wearing their thick furs and understanding not a single word.
Putting their hopes in a certain dark-haired goldsmith from California, who kindly takes them in, they tried their best to somehow find their way back home and find a lot more in the process.

I’m so glad you’re back - Chapter 9
Chapter 1  chapter 2  chapter 3  chapter 4  chapter 5  chapter 6  chapter 7  chapter 8  chapter 10  chapter 11  Chapter 12  chapter 13  chapter 14  chapter 15  Epilogue
Vormir 2014
The two assassins soon arrive at the planet Vormir after taking the Benatar from Morag.
As they look around at the planet, Clint cannot help but feel overwhelmed, vormir was tragically beautiful, he couldn't believe he was standing on ground that was a different planet from earth.
“This would be awesome if not for the circumstances.” Natasha gives him a sad hopeful smile. She knows he misses Laura, just like she missed Steve. Looking up at the mountain in front of them, it's almost blatantly obvious that's where they needed to go. The two giant pillars reaching up to the clouded sky above them. Kind of cliche really.
Natasha and clint start their journey of climbing up the hill, as surprising as it seems it doesn't take too long for them to reach the top. But it was exhausting, despite its shorter journey to the top, the steepness made up for it.
As they reach the top the two assassins take a second to look at the view. Nebula had told them Vormir was the ‘very centre of Celestial Existence’ and anyone could tell by looking at it that what she said was true. As Natasha looked up at the black sky she couldn't help but gasp at the beauty of it. A forever eclipsing sun shining purple. The planets and stars in the sky. Every new detail she saw she made a note to remember, she couldn't wait to tell James about this place.
Hearing a whisper of a movement behind them the archer and spy quickly draw out their weapons and spin on their feet, Natasha pulling out her gun and Clint handling his bow and arrow. Both aiming at the same figure in front of them.
“Welcome, Natasha, daughter of Ivan, Clint, son of Edith.” The husky accented voice called out to them. Natasha and Clint stared at the figure with the deep male voice in apprehension and confusion. He was floating off the ground and covered in a damaged cloth and a red face. He almost looked like a dementor from harry potter. And he knew their names, but also their parents. Not even Natasha had known her parent's names until she went searching for them after Shield fell, and even after she found out she never told anyone but Steve. So who was this guy?
“Who are you?” The redhead called out.
“Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the soul stone.” She raised an eyebrow at his words.
“Oh, good. Tell us where it is, then we'll be on our way.” She replied. Her weapon still drawn.
“Ah, lieschen. If only it were that easy.”
Turning away from them, the cloaked figure floats away and towards the edge of the cliff top. The two Avengers follow him and look out over the edge at the hill as if they expected the stone to be there, but they were met with only the rough ground at the bottom of the cliff.
“What you seek lies in front of you. As does that which you fear.”
“The stone's down there.” Natasha concluded, it had to be. Why else would he bring them to the edge of the cliff? His deep voice still behind them spoke out again.
“For one of you. For the other, in order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul for a soul.”
Stepping away from the edge, the two Avengers take a minute to digest what the red-faced man had just told them. They don't actually know how long they had been pacing and sitting for, it felt like hours but probably only lasted a few minutes. Natasha sat on a rock close by the edge, contemplating his words. You must lose that which you love? She wasn't an idiot. She knew what it meant. To lose what you love?
They came here with a mission, the two of them. To get the stone. There was no way they couldn't come back without it, but coming back with the stone meant that one of the wouldn't.
She couldn't let her oldest friend die. They were so close to getting their friends and family back, he couldn't die before he got to see them again. But she couldn't help but think of James either. She knew he would be okay without her. He had everyone else to protect him and raise him, and if her team was successful, then James would have Steve. He would have his father back.
Sighing and standing to her feet, Natasha walked over to the pacing clint and grabbed his hands, making him face her. At first, she avoided his eyes, as if she was shy about what she was going to say.
“If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead.” Nodding his head in agreement Clint held onto her hands. She was right, if they didn't do this billions of people, half of life is dead. Gone forever. One person or half of the universe. It's a no brainer, he thought. For years he dreamed of getting them back. His family. And today he has the chance to do that and Clint was prepared to do whatever it took to get them back, even if that meant not being here when they did.
“Then I guess we both know who it's got to be.”
Smiling softly at her friend, she agreed. “I guess we do.”
They pause for a minute, the silence almost awkward as they stand to hold each other's hands. Clint started to laugh at the situation.
“I'm starting to think we mean different people here, Natasha.” Guilty.
“Clint I can't let you do it. We’re this close to getting Laura back, the kids. You've been through hell. I can't take you away from them. And all these years I've been trying so hard to bring everyone back. Let me do this.”
“Oh, don't you get all decent on me now.” Clint rolled his eyes at her words. They were both completely stubborn inside and out.
“What, you think I want to do it? I'm trying to save ‘your’ life, you idiot.”
“Yeah, well, I don't want you to, how's that? What about James? huh? Your son? Natasha, you know what I've done. You know what I've become. I won't let you do this. I won't…  won't make my nephew an orphan.”
“So it's okay for you to leave your children but it's not okay for me? Clint, they need you.”
“They'll have Laura. They lived for years with me disappearing and going on missions, every time they were prepared for the worst just in case I didn't come back. They'll be okay. “
“And so will James. He has his uncles and his aunts, he has you. He'll have Laura, the kids, he'll have his father back. He would have everyone there for him.” Her breath caught in her throat as she mentioned her son.
“You know what I've become without them, Natasha.” She grimaced. She knew what he had done in their absence but that didn't mean he deserved to die.
“Well, I don't judge people on their worst mistakes.”
“Maybe you should.” Clint scoffed. He knew what he had been doing these past few years and he did it willingly. Not concerned about anyone or anything. Only wanting revenge.
“You didn't.” Clint squeezed his eyes at her words. He knew she was thinking of her past. But she didn't do the things she did back them by herself. It was the red room and the KGB that made her do it and she had more than made up for it. She wiped the red out of her ledger years ago. She couldn't still think she had any left, did she?
“You're a pain in my ass, you know that?”
Looking at each other again, the two best friends lent their heads against each other, comforting each of them as they realised this could be the last moment they may spend together. Sighing clint pulled back slightly from their embrace.
“Okay. You win.” He breathed out. But before she could react to his words he grabbed her by her neck and threw her down on the ground, effectively knocking the wind out of her lungs and making her eyes slam shut at the sudden blow. Holding her down on the ground clint looked at his friend and gave her a sad smile.
“Tell my family I love them.”
Finding her strength again, Natasha manoeuvres her arm to grab her widow bite and pushes him off as she shocks him. She stands her foot on his chest to keep him down.
“Tell them yourself.”
Using Clint's body as a step she pushes herself of him and makes way for the cliff. As she runs her breath quicken in fright. Every pace she moved flashes of her life overtook her. Her memories from the red room, clint sparing her, becoming an Avenger, meeting wanda and Peter, falling in love with Steve, the snap… James. James had saved her life all those years ago. Her beautiful boy, hair just like his dads. He was perfect in every way. Of course, she didn't want to die, she didn't want to leave her baby, but if she could sacrifice herself to bring half the universe back then she would. James would be okay, he would have the biggest family in the world to take care of him. And Clint would have his family back, the archer had saved her life all those years ago and now she was about to return the favour.
However, as she approached the edge. She was forced back by a hand pulling on the back of her uniform, the force of the action swinging her around until she was rolling on the floor in the opposite direction of the cliff.
As she steadied herself from the spinning, Natasha sees Clint make his way to the cliff. She gets up and runs over to him, enticing him into a fight. As they struggle to gain the upper hand, Natasha gives him a hard blow to the face, he's taken aback from the hit, making him dizzy for a few seconds. But those few seconds were long enough for Natasha to make her move, turning away from Clint, she runs to the edges and jumps.
Her mind races as she falls. The wind winding around her body, whistling at the weight of her falling.
As she falls, she tries to flood her mind with images of her family. The Avengers. Steve. James.
But suddenly the air is different, the whistling even louder.
Hitting her from the side is a large figure. It's Clint. He jumped after her. Reaching for her body as they fall, Clint grabs onto her and latches on a device to her back. A device he had swiped from her just minutes earlier.
Clint throws the cord upwards to attach to debree at the ledge top, the sudden stop almost gives her whiplash, but it doesn't stop her from reaching out for Clint's hand. Natasha grips it as hard as she can, holding his entire weight beneath her. But he's too heavy. She's strong, she always had been, especially since the red room had administrated their version of the serum. But he was still too heavy and bigger than her. There was no way of holding his weight with her own strength whilst a single cord held them both up. A cord that was specifically designed for her size.
Throwing her head up to the ledge she sees has secured her to the cliff.
“Damn you!” There are tears in her eyes as she shouts at him. But Clint just smiles back at her.
“Let me go.” His voice is barely a whisper, but she hears it loud as day.
“No. please don't.” Natasha pleads with him, his weight is getting too much now, and she can't hold onto him with two hands without letting go of the cord but if she lets go of the cord she'll be flipped and they'll both fall. As she cries, Clint can feel her tears hitting him from above as she looks upon him.
“It's okay, Tasha it's okay. Laura will be okay. She will, they all will. Tell them I love them.” She can hear the strain in his voice as he tries to speak gently, he doesn't want to cause her more pain. So he just gives her a smile. Tears now filling up his own eyes. Natasha screams out again, her grip faulting and she clutches on with dear life.
Dangling from her hand, the archer pushes his foot against the stone of the cliff, giving him leverage and enough power to push against it. Natasha is too weak from holding him up to secure her hand around his, the force of his push detaches their grips, effectively making him fall.  But even though he was facing Natasha, all Clint could see were images of his family. The day he met Laura, god, he thought he was punching well above his weight. He remembered the day he had proposed. It was really shitty to be honest, just the two of them eating takeout watching rubbish tv in the middle of the night after coming back from one of his first few missions, but he wouldn't have changed it for the world. Seeing her eyes light up at the little ring he had bought her. He remembered his exact feeling when she had told him she was pregnant with Cooper, their first child. That was nearly 20 years ago believe it or not. He still carries around the scan pictures with him, after all this time. His eldest son would have been 20 this year, his daughter, 17 and Nate, 8.
They were everything to him, his entire life. So as he fell, his last moments were thinking of them. Remembering Laura's kisses, his children's voices and hugs.
Just them.
As the redhead watched her oldest friend fall further away from her she screams in disdain.
“Clint!”
The sound of his body hitting the ground is one that will haunt her for the rest of her life.
All she can do as she peers down at her friend's lifeless body is sob and cry. Her breath catching in her throat every time she breathes out.
But then the sky lights up. The two identical structures that sit at the edge of the cliff glow with a blue light and it pushes from the bottom upwards into the sky, creating a ring of blue as it pulses through the dark grey clouds.
--------------------------------------
Shooting her eyes open, Natasha gasped for air like she had been starved of it. Looking around her she realised she was laid down in a shallow lake of water. Slowly sitting herself up, Natasha made herself horizontal to the ground she sat on. The events of a few minutes ago coming back to her.
Then she realises there's something in her hand.
Opening up her left palm, a warm orange glow lights up her face as she brings it closer to her.
The soul stone.
There was only one reason she would have it.
Natasha knew that the exchange was done. A soul for a soul, clint was gone. Closing her eyes, Natasha clutched the stone to her chest and pulled her legs up closer to her, letting out cries at the realisation that he was gone forever.

Madoka Amano is NOT useless
Don't you just hate the fact that people call characters uselesss from shows or movies without knowing the character or watching them very closely? Some dude I saw said Madoka was useless as well as another character from an anime in a post I made.
Hahahahahaha😂😂😂😂 child I'll prove you wrong!
I know people have opinions and all but they kinda said it harsh so I need to prove their butts wrong. Besides they commented and I'm defending my queens. Especially Mama Madoka!
Stopping Fights
Madoka really dislikes the fact that the boys fight a lot when not battling. Metal Masters, she stopped a fight where the boys were fighting about team leader and bey position for the world tournament (I think), she stopped another fight in Masters when the boys were fighting when they were supposed to work as a team. Madoka even disbanded Gan Gan Galaxy. (I love Madoka~!) in the Sol Blaze Movie, she stopped the fighting of the boys because they were in her maintenance room.
In Metal Fury's Episode: The Guardian of the Temple, Dynamis, Ryuto told Gingka should've proceed with cautious then Gingka blamed everything on Kyoya then Ryuto blames it on Gingka because he knew it was a trap so Gingka should've stopped Kyoya. Gingka fired back with telling Ryuto if he was a real treasure hunter he'd been able to open the door by now which made Ryuto mad. Kyoya told the two to move on and Gingka said that Kyoya shouldn't act that his neck isn't in this. Yuki tries to tell everyone to stop then Madoka slides into the frame in an angry mood and she yelled at everyone to be quiet because she can't concentrate when the boys is distracting her like that. (I know this part of the episode so well)
Pretend if you were in her shoes. If you saw your friends fighting over something stupid when the world is about to end in destruction by the black sun and Nemesis, would you sit there and continue working your research when you're getting annoyed by them or would you close your laptop and yell at your friends to stop fighting? Think about that.
She Fixes and Analyzes Beys
It's a very well known fact that Madoka Fixes and Analyzes Beyblades because she's a mechanic. It doesn't matter how badly the BeyBlade is damaged, she will fix it. At the end of Metal Fury in the Japanese version you see her in her basement fixing a BeyBlade while some of the legendary bladers' beys are behind her. She sighed about it but she did get it done...and she probably had a nice sleep after.
The Fearsome Libra episode
In episode 2 of Metal Fusion, Madoka states that she doesn't battle that often. She just likes fixing and analyzing BeyBlades. But in the Survival Battle arc of the Metal Fusion series, she was going to be apart of the health team but she was pushed to the airplane where the bladers go which left her terrified but Gingka protected her so she didn't have to battle. Then in the episode The Fearsome Libra she had to use her BeyBlade, Mad Gasher 145F to save Rock Leone from breaking apart. She launched her BeyBlade into the tornado that Leone created which left Kyoya and the others shocked. She hits Leone then wind blew her to the ground and her bey no longer spinning which gave Madoka 4th place. Kyoya realizes that Leone was in bad shape so he went down to the stadium and picked up Leone making him 3rd place in Survival battle. He had picked up Mad Gasher as well but was never seen doing so. Then this beautiful moment happened which is one of my favorites:
Madoka: K-Kyoya?
Kyoya: Sticking your nose in someone else's business Next time you butt in, I won't let you off so easily. You got it? ((Gives Madoka her bey))
Madoka: Uh-huh.
Kyoya: ((walks off))
Madoka: My bey!
Hacking
in Metal Fusion: Episode 12 it is seen that Madoka is not only a mechanic, she is also a hacker. When in the Dark Nebula Castle she used the Training room that Kyoya and the other bladers were in as a source to hack the systems. She was then blocked by their firewalls but luckily she broke through the firewall and she unlocked the doors for the gang to go to Doji. Benkei and Kenta stayed to hold off the trained bladers while Kyoya and Gingka ran out. She also did her hacking skills near the end of Metal Masters but I don't remember if she was successful or not.
Madoka Amano is smart
In the Sol Blaze movie, Madoka and Tsubasa helped Helios and Gingka go to outer space to destroy a meteor by launcing the space shuttle. In Metal Masters Madoka and Gingka were in the elevator that Dr. Ziggurat was going to use just to escape. Madoka uses her smart brain and use the control pad on the wall in the elevator to find the energy reactor and get to it.
Madoka is smart in general from how her character is. So back off my queen or she'll make you regret it. 👿😡
Hope you all enjoyed reading this blog and hopefully you agree with me on how people should not judge when they don't know how much these small characters are a huge help in the plot. That's like saying you hate someone in the music world but you don't know them and/or what their music is like.
I hope you all have a nice day and night. Goodbye~!

**breathes in deeply**
(vent)
So I'm a soulbonder who's looking to make a new bond to a particular person and nothing is working.
I know a lot about this person, I know a good amount about their world, and I know what I need to do, but none of the things I've tried have worked. I've bonded people before in both intentional and unintentional ways. This is unusual for me. I don't quite know how to handle what's going on here.
I know what's probably causing it. My mental health kinda tanked between this and the last time I called a new bond. Like. I've started experiencing psychosis issues intra-headspace. Thankfully I've avoided anything that severe in meatspace, but I have had increased issues with my pre-existing executive function and emotional regulation issues. Every time I think I've gotten somewhere with bonding this character it's only been psychosis issues and discernment issues, and it's really, really disheartening.
But even aside from mental health issues, when I'm relatively lucid I'm not having luck.
I've tried summoning, I've tried inviting, I've tried direct "hey come here", I've tried indirect "hey we'd like to talk", I've tried yanking them, I've tried directly appearing to them in their own world, I've tried just trying to talk to them before. Most of these I've tried more than once. Nothing has worked. There may have been contact in the past (and seemed positive-to-neutral about learning more about this place and visiting), but at this point I really doubt even the more reliable incidents. Something should have worked here, and I can't shake the feeling something is going very wrong.
I know I should probably give up and move on at this point, as it's been literal months. Honestly I've asked a lot of places for help and I've looked into what resources I've been able to find on their source world and bonding in general, and my options are running dry. Nobody would blame me for giving up. But I have my reasons not to. I have a feeling about this, and they're in a situation I don't feel like leaving alone. Like, everyone they thought they could trust screws them over. I also DESPERATELY want to at least talk to this person. This entire situation is so fucking frustrating. I'm at the "try shaking cat treats at them" phase.
Also I can't talk to anyone about this because 1. dude's source is from my own AU, and is technically my oc, 2. the places I can talk about this shit are not open to sensitive parts of this, going assume I'm lying, or uh, were exposed to a few cringey false alarms on related things, 3. it's been long enough and constant enough that it's too much to talk about the full extent of this nonsense. 4. My SO can't tolerate this person's source world, so I won't make them endure my prattling.
Because I needed isolation added to this clusterfuck.
Anyway that was good to get off my chest, feel free to throw this into the tumblr void with the identities of anon asks if you want. Or post it, I have no investment in the fate of this.
Mmmm, it looks like there are several issues here that you're facing.
I want to ask: do you have any other bonds right now? Because maybe getting them to try will help, just because their methods will be different than yours, and sometimes you just need a second set of hands. (Or fins, as Albafica wants me to make sure you know.)
There could be a ton of things blocking it, and I would suggest dealing with your psychosis issues first. Not give up, but put this on hold until you know what's causing the psychosis and have dealt with it. You do not want to forge a bond on such a shaky foundation. I'm not saying 'psychotic people can't soulbond', flames forbid I am, I'm reading that this is a new and difficult thing, and you don't want unknown variables getting in your way, especially when they can induce things that look similar to soulbonding but really really aren't.
I have to account for my Devil powers every time I do a spell, ward, or fuck around with the headspace. Because I'm the host and the god in the room, and things answer to me when they won't to anyone else, and Albafica's commentary on that is "stop locking me in a room with your crazy sentient brambles that only speak static whenever you're majorly upset" and I think that's not fair to me, that only happened once and it was accidental, but you get the point. That's a variable you need to be predictable and accounted for.
Then yeah, past that it looks like they're just not willing, and if you want to bond, you need to see it from their side. Because to some random person in their world, you probably feel / appear like a particularly dangerous spirit that's trying to eat them. Al agrees that's how he'd take it if someone pulled that on him, and he's very untrusting on his best days. So it sounds, so far, like your approach is not the best for this.
If you rule out medical reasons for your psychosis - and that is not an easy thing to do, please check out medical things for that, you don't want to fuck around with it - it could also be them refusing you and using their own wards. (Or at least, I can see the line of thought between them trying to stop you and such backlash; but that's an option to consider after medical issues.)
If you can get in contact with them, you need to ask one question, and one question alone, and do not pass go or collect your 200$ until they've answered clearly: do they want you to stop?
You haven't said why you want to bond with them so badly, and motivation is a key factor here. With Goni, he showed up looking for Luco and serves partially as the adult to go to when shit gets bad and also as the resident prettyboy and slut. Al is logical and blunt and his remarks cut deep, but he gives a damn and functions as lieutenant where Goni's advisor and backup. South is uh, he's the demon commentating about how much we should just kill people and he's right, he is, but that's illegal. He also serves as the youngest and the most prone to extreme emotions, and when someone else is doing the extreme emotions, it makes it that much easier for the rest of us to keep our heads. He says what I'm thinking, and then I can deal with it rationally.
They're all people, and they aid each other as well in headspace, but the bond between host and bond is a bit different than bonds with each other. I pilot the body most of the time, I handle everything in meatspace, they help me do that. It's simple: keep the guy who pilots the body running, get body privileges.
And what you need to consider here is not only what they can do for you, but what you can do for them, and how exactly you're going to coexist. Because while my triad of fishmen help me, I also help them, largely because uh, /gestures at the fact they all died in a war in various gruesome ways and the journey they took to get there was actually worse/. It's all fun and games until they're here, away from the danger, and then there's the exotrauma.
Goni handles it by not handling it until he has to and right now we're working on actually acknowledging that he's got issues. South deals with it by being resentful as all hell and incredibly violent and yandere, but being allowed to not pull his punches is still so new to him that it's actually quite good for him to get to say what he's thinking and be respected for it. Al's grumpy about it but is trying to build something of his life now before he falls apart. He wants something to hold onto first, which is smart. Trust Al to figure out the most logical way with none of the words and then adamantly refuse to let that go wrong. He and I both understand bullying the universe into giving us what we want, and since he has full utter control over his own mental processes thanks to being able to make my Devil powers do what he wants, I don't think anyone's going to be able to interfere with his ability to do that.
So now I have to ask for you: what is this bond going to be doing for you, and just as important, what exactly do you expect to be able to do for them? Because they're also an OC, and they may have some goddamn feelings about that. They may see you as having coincidentally written down their life, they may see you as channeling it, or they may see you as the one who made it happen. All of which you'll also see in fictionkin spaces. If they fall into the last category, they're gonna be pissed you didn't give them a happy ending, and they're justified in that, and so are you for not doing that.
You have to be prepared - especially from reading between the lines of your ask here - that they're not going to be as functional as you want them to be. When we handle our exotrauma, we're a mess. Everything gets put on hold to deal with it, and even then, we rely a lot on our partner system (Faolan and the Nebulaic Collective) to keep the body from crashing so we can hold onto our life instead of falling apart utterly for a week straight. We don't do jack entirely with the four of us, and it's better that way.
The fact that you can't rely on anyone outside of yourself, especially considering 1) they don't seem to want this, 2) your attempts either very coincidentally happened alongside or caused serious mental issues that need urgent attention from you, and 3) you don't sound prepared to handle the severity of what you're implying it to be; all goes to show that this reads to me like a terrible fucking idea. I mean that honestly and gently and bluntly.
I don't mean 'give up and don't do this', I mean 'seriously dude either you're not giving me context or you haven't thought nearly hard enough about the realistic way this is going to go', and if it's the latter, no wonder you're having issues.
I already know who my next bond will be, and I know what needs to happen for him to show up. Right now, the four of us are functional, and we have a good Thing going on, sleeping arrangements and all. If we're getting another, a Space needs to open up for him, job to keep us functional that he can do as well as a part to play in our dynamic that is currently not being met. We got Adult (Goni), we got Logic (Al), we got Emotional Teenager (South), we got Has Context And Admin Access (me).
(Side note, South is vaguely 17-19, but he's been treated like he was five for most of his life and has been forced to rapidly oscillate between genuinely horrifying scenarios and being incredibly sheltered, so trying to put any sort of 'he's an average X year old' is downright impossible. He's on the upper end of teens and we call it a day there, and if he hears a word of "you're not old enough to do X activity" then I have to stop him from sending you graphic descriptions of things he can do to your insides and that's no fun for anyone so don't do that please.)
So when we have a space the new bond can fill both in keeping things functional so he has something to do and a space in our relationship so he's not standing on the sidelines looking in, he'll show. As it stands right now, that hasn't happened, so he's not here yet. That and I think I'm stretched rather thin when it comes to bonds, I need much more time with our fishes before I think I can handle more folks in here. So much on my mind, so little time.
But either way regardless. You have several glaring issues that are fairly obvious that you may not have noticed because you can't be objective in a situation you're involved in (true of everyone), and until you fix those, yeah, this doesn't sound like it'll work all that well.
Although I will note that I typically bond via my writing, simply writing from their perspective until they start commentating. They go from 'maybe MaDD doing shit' to 'oh hey soulbond' when they don't comment only on themselves but also on things I'm doing in meatspace. Albafica's a character when he's narrating his own life, he's a person when he demands More Salmon For Dinner; if that makes sense.
I doubt you'd get that far unless they genuinely did want the connection, because otherwise they wouldn't tell you stuff about themselves. Works for me, might work for you, who knows, please get your psychosis symptoms checked out first before touching this again and make sure they actually want to bond and it's actually viable before continuing and then try again I suppose?
A very long answer for a very long ask, but I like Helping, so. Hope that helped a bit.
