I have no commentary about the last 140 pages of Penderwicks in Spring because I spent all of it crying.

#Cate rereads #I’m honestly not sure about the choice to include this in a children’s series? #it makes the characters SO compelling #but it is so so so emotional #and there’s people there the entire time who love her #not just her family but nick and the Ayvazians and Mrs. Grunfeld #but it’s really hard to watch her go through it #and Skye does such a terrible job at fixing things #to be fair to her she’s like seventeen and she’s just had a huge upset #but we don’t get to see inside her head and so I think the whole plot line suffers #you have to go back and remember moments when Skye was better at being a sister #despite all her hurt and grief #for instance when I remember Skye taking batty’s hand and telling her she’s perfect I wanna die #Skye trying so very very hard to take care of her in Point Mouette #well that’s a lot of tags for someone who said she had no commentary
