Excerpt:

Outside, it was becoming dark slowly, and then all at once, the kitchen lit only by the bulb above the oven, left on from the night before. There were things Draco needed to do, protocol to follow. He hadn’t had time to tell Derek about Fallkirk’s death over the Loqutus. Derek, who he was going to murder when he saw him next. He didn’t move.

Eventually, Potter’s breathing evened out and his muscles relaxed, making his body a pleasing weight against Draco’s.

Draco stretched out his legs. “Should I go make us some tea?”

Potter twisted around and shook his head no. He was looking at Draco very closely, lingering on his mouth, then his neck, and back again, like he couldn’t stop himself. The waist of Potter’s t-shirt was rucked up, and Draco’s middle and ring fingers were pressed against bare skin. That was nice too.

Potter’s eyes slid closed again. The light above the oven hummed. Draco stayed very still.

Another few minutes passed. Potter stirred and said, “I told you I liked you, then. At that bar you go to with the weekend sex party.”

Draco pulled away fractionally. “Well,” he said delicately, “It wasn’t really me you liked.”

“You kissed me last night,” Potter said.

“You kiss a lot of people.”

“Can we–” Potter lifted his head a little. He was close enough that Draco could have counted his eyelashes.

Nothing had changed since the night before. It was still an awful idea that wouldn’t end well for Draco under any circumstances.

“Yeah,” Draco said, swallowing hard. “Okay.”

Potter’s mouth crashed onto his, desperate and hungry, his right hand coming up to hold Draco's cheek. It wasn’t a caress. He was holding Draco there, not letting him get away while he pressed their lips together again and again. Draco didn’t know how to make it clear that he wasn’t going anywhere. He was staying right there.

Potter’s mouth slipped open, his tongue pressed against the seam of Draco’s lips. Draco let him in. The wet heat of it was overwhelming, Potter’s tongue pressed against his for a moment then sliding out and back in again. Draco heard a high, needy sound, and realized he had made it.
