Man, between "Well you know it's all I think about, I write your name drive past your house, Your boyfriend's over I watch your lights go out" (obsessive, dramatic, possibly criminal/stalking behavior) and "Anywhere you go I'll follow you down, I'll follow you down but not that far" (boundaries-setting, communicative, respectful) the Gin Blossoms were having a ROUGH time in the 90s and then clearly sought therapy, huh?

Look Oasis, Roswell. I don't care if we are on other sides of the universe as long we're looking at the same stars... I will never look away.

~ Gin Blossoms, “Follow You Down”
I know we’re headed somewhere I can see how far we’ve come
But still I can’t remember anything
Let’s not do the wrong thing and I’ll swear it might be fun
It’s a long way down when all the knots we’ve tied have come undone

Hi! I just learned about your novel “Follow You Down” and there are two things that I wanted to say. First and foremost, congratulations on actually having your work published! You’re such a remarkable writer and it makes me so happy for you as well as proud of you for this achievement. I was super excited to learn that you were considering making AWS into a published novel, so you could only imagine how I felt when discovering that you already have a book out there (let’s just say there was a lot of squealing and jumping up and down lol). I genuinely cannot wait to purchase and read it — I know I’ll love it. But before I do that, I did have a question I had to ask first. Does this novel have a HEA? I hope you don’t mind me asking or answering this. I tend to lean toward reading books with a HEA for personal reasons, so it’s important for me to know this before going in. Even if it doesn’t have a HEA, l’ll still most likely read it because I do love and enjoy your work that much. But then I just want to be prepared before going on the journey. Hopefully this makes sense and you get what I mean…
All in all, this is amazing you’ve done this! I can’t wait to check this out and all your other amazing work that’ll come 💞
You are so kind, dear anon - and it means a lot to me that you would read the novel :)
As for whether if it has a HEA, I'll post my response below the cut:
The book doesn't end with a HEA for the couple. That being said, it does end HEA for the female protagonist, and the MC finally coming to a realization about how much he fucked up.
I don't know if you've been reading AWR, but there was a while there when I was getting a lot of messages that were (rightfully) calling out for the Reader to walk away from Billy and find her own happiness. I feel like that's what I gave the female character in Follow You Down. Their relationship was toxic and it was breaking her but in the end she found a reason to walk away.
I will say I wrote the novel a long time ago, and I think I've matured as a writer since then. It still has some cringy parts so don't judge me too harshly - I'm still learning as a writer.
If you end up choosing to read it, thank you! And if not, that's okay too :)

just finished binge reading follow you down and i loved it! and my head canon is that a few years later yennefer has perfected her hysterectomy-free immortality process, established her school, but finds herself in need of a witcher, so ofc she calls geralt and while he's out hunting, yen and jaskier get drunk and she's like "wanna be with geralt forever?" and he's like "duh" then when geralt gets back yen is like "so i accidentally got drunk and made your bard immortal you're welcome"
I have no idea why I didn't see this earlier (ask box gremlins??) but I love this!! She totally would.
