Here’s a little about me 🌞

My name is Brooke, I’m 24. I have a nearly 3 year old daughter her name is Ophelia, yes like Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the Lumineers song — and on purpose.

I’m from a small town in north eastern Tennessee, I love the mountains and as I get older the more I appreciate the Appalachian culture. My life goal is to have a house with big open windows up in the mountains and a huge wildflower garden.

My favorite thing to do before becoming a mother was taking a pizza up the mountain and eating it on the back of a friends car while listening to music. I really want to recreate those vibes with my daughter and/or new friends.

I love foraging for dandelions and violets and other edible flowers and making jelly’s, jams, syrups or adding them to my dinner to teach my daughter about them.

I adore pop punk music, I adore folk music, I adore tattoos and flowers, I adore driving mountain back roads with no destination in mind. I adore staying up late and eating snacks on the couch while watching tv. I love cold rainy days, and I love bright spring days. I love reading.

i need a soft au where prapai is a lord (he loves the common folk almost as much as they love him, okay), sky is a witch (obviously he focuses on plants and is the apotechary in the cutest cottage core shop), rain can bring rain (although the elders might actually banish him if he floods the fields again) and phayu is a blacksmith (this is in no way an excuse to have him hot and sweaty). prapai visiting sky's little shop for every possible ailment from having a hangnail to suffering a "minor" stab wound, being his usual charming self and sky regretting the day he decided to go into a customer service specialty. BUT the thing is sky has a sleek little cat familiar who keeps winding their body around prapai's ankles and all in all being a purring lil menace much to prapai's glee and sky's eternal suffering TM. rain struggling with controlling his magic because it's tied to his emotions and needs focus to be directed correctly and phayu meeting him when he accidentally makes it rain over the forge because wow, that's a man with no shirt on holding a big ass hammer. good thing phayu is the master of focus and control even though rain's ancient wizard tutors would so not approve of his methods.

Chaos might be a word too kind

So, basically, I wanted to do a storyline that involves a normal boy falling into a magical world with no humans - once there, instead of being the Chosen One, he gets adopted by a weird satir and makes a living out of playing pop/rock songs on a lyre/guitar and becomes a famous musician.

But I also wanted to have a storyline about a weird and powerful witch, who creates herself multiple identities and lives three vastly different lives in three different cities, and is known by many and she travels a lot.

And I also wanted add loads of werewolves, because there are so many different kinds of werewolves and if I create a continent, all the kinds of werewolves can make an appearance. All kinds of were-predators, maybe?

And I also wanted to have cottage-core witches, and world-making dragons, and fae-folk and the main species would be shapeshifters, that would be a good reason to add in loads of werewolves!

There would also be modified druids who live on the giant mountain in the middle of the continent. (did I mention I will have a giant mountain on the continent? like, Mount Everest*10?)

Chaotic, I know. I do not have much of the lore yet. Partially, I wanted to build this world because it would give me a good reason/chance to research different mythologies and mythological creatures.

I cannot draw very well, so there is a high chance that I will do mood-board-like posts about clothing and looks. I could borrow art (and reference it, of course) or bless my dear non-readers with some digital drawings I did, buuuut.... ya know, I do not possess the ability to do... art.

Well, how is this for a start?

I am horrible at using tags, so that ensures no one ever finds this weird rant.

Danu or Dana by Leonor Luna, @sirenerosada on instagram. Ancient Irish celtic goddess of water, earth, the Fae Folk, magic and the Native Irish peoples (and I suspect she is a goddess of anti-imperialism in general now).. She is the mother of the Tuatha de Danann, the Irish gods, including Brigid.

She is so ancient that her lore has largely been wiped out by colonization and time, but she is the one who created the Fae folk/Faeries and thus is a goddess to work with who wants to deepen their connection with the Fae/Seelies.

Offering ideas include water libations, flowers such as Iris and waterlily, incense that is forest or water scented or perhaps lavender, as well as offerings of poetry or singing, and devotional art. Offerings to faeries such as tea, honey, etc would also work for her and her children!

Devotional activities(tell her beforehand) could include divination practice, cleaning up trash/taking care of a garden, practicing self-defense, making a meditation schedule, researching Gaelic Irish culture and history, researching the Fae Folk, swimming, and climate justice activism.

Symbols include the tree, the fish, and the moon. Others in my mind are the triskelion (Celtic symbol for change) , butterflies and dragonflies (the Fae).
