Folio Friday is upon us again and I’ve got an absolute beauty to show off this week.

I got this copy of The Good Soldier by Ford Maddox Ford secondhand and I love it. JJust look at it. What right does any book have to look that good?

It’s grom 2008 and there are a few signs of wear to it. But it doesn’t matter. It’s still glorious. And it’s my duty to give unwanted books a loving home.

It might not actually be Friday but that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate Folio Friday.

My birthday sort of ruined my plans so I’m a day late with this post. It’s Women’s History Month in the UK and Monday is International Women’s Day. It only seems fair that we celebrate a female writer.

Everyone knows Mary Shelley as the author of Frankenstein but she did a lot more than that. The Last Man is a fascinating apocalypse novel and the characters all resemble people in her social circle. I definitely think more people should give it a go

I’ve got a few Folio editions these days (not as many as I’d like but it’s a start) but I rarely show them off. It’s mostly a fear of ruining them. So I’m going to select one book every Friday and feature it on my feed.

This week is a special one. The Monk by Matthew Lewis is one of my all-time favourite books, so I had to track down a @foliosociety edition.

It was published in 1984 and that cover is just amazing. Such a standout.

I’ll be honest, this has been a terrible Friday. I spent most of the day thinking I’d fucked up at work and was looking forward to a long weekend stressing about it. Thankfully it was just my friend anxiety popping up to say hello.
