   MAKOTO CAN PRACTICALLY FEEL HIS HEART SINK the moment the question settles, reminiscent of the way it seemed to absolutely shatter upon finding her body, seemingly lifeless against the cold tile.   IT ISN’T DIFFICULT FOR MAKOTO TO FIND ENJOYMENT in the simple things— more than easy, really, with what they’ve pushed themselves through and the state of the world, simple is safety. Simple is rare moments of relaxation, and more than anything, he finds himself wanting to be sure Kyouko is able to achieve that. After everything he knows she’s been through, she deserves as many good times as possible, which is one of the reasons why when she says it out loud, he finds himself hit with a warm rush of elation. A smile immediately tugs at his lips, and he nods in genuine agreement. 

         “I’m...glad you think so. Really, I think the same thing. It’s...nice, to have a good time for a little while, and spending it with you does make it that much better.” He doesn’t know where the sudden confidence to say it comes from, but it’s the truth.

     The box is what catches his attention first when he walks in and sees it on his desk. He’s aware of the date of course (it’s what comes with his status unfortunately, fangirls that are merely just in love with the mask and not what lies underneath. Who would be in love with that part of him anyways?) so it’s to be expected that he would receive something on this day. Then again it’s not like he’s close to a lot of the people he works with, besides Sae, so it begs the question of who would do such a thing.

     Lilac stationary is the clue of sorts that tells him who left it, even without her signing it he would’ve been able to piece together who it was. Even if the two of them can be at odds with each other, Kirigri is someone that Goro considers himself to be close to.

     So it’s with a small smile that he accepts them, making a note to thank her for them. And perhaps to figure out something to give her in return in a month.

For Akira, it’s mostly that humanity is controlled by outsides forces. Where it be technology like Emma, Aliens like Azathoth, evil gods like Yaldabaoth, or the evil personification of humanity itself like Nyarlathotep, Akira doesn’t like anything to stand in the way of free will. There is a reason why his ultimate persona is the one who fights for all of humanity, even if he has to become hated throughout the whole reality, space and time of the universe to do so. His second fear is being forgotten, which plays into the events of the game and Akira isn’t quite the same after that happens.  ¿ Are they easily frightened?

Not really. Unless under dire situations, like when palaces like Futaba’s are starting to breakdown and fall apart since they were all on such a high place and a fall, while not as bad when coming out of the MetaVerse would still not be ideal. And when that giant boulder in Futaba’s was chasing everyone, Akira did panic at that too but anyone unless emotions were completely cut off would be scared of that. Even in the interrogation room beaten up, bones broken and forced to take god who knows that were in those drugs that they injected him with, Akira still wasn’t frightened. And his memories and consciousness were failing him as well. Didn’t even buckle under Sae’s line of question and even talked back to her. Clearly not a person who scares easily. It takes a lot of effort to make him truly scared. That’s why the 3rd semester and Christmas Eve / Disappearing from the masses conscious made Akira very nervous and frightened for the first time because it was something that was out of his control and that if it wasn’t for him, none of those things would had happened. Of course, that’s not true in gameplay but he feels responsible for making himself fear things that aren’t his fault. ☹ Name one person they would kill for.

Akira doesn’t believe in murder, in his main verse anyway. Thinks there are worse things than death. However, in his God of Control verse, probably Yaldabaoth since he did take the deal and has to be loyal to the false deity. Or else Akira himself would probably be dealt with if he decided to rebel again. Usually there would be no one really of a threat but perhaps other persona users than the thieves would try to stop the two. In all, his other verses don’t have him ever be put into this situation. He wants people alive to atone and make good on their mistakes. Once a person is dead, they can’t do that. Hence why the 3rd Semester started anyways, because he wished Akechi back so the detective could make amends, which the latter clearly did not wish to do and promptly told Akira to stop doing that and go back to the original reality.

It takes a lot of self control not to fret over Kirigiri too much in her recovery. Makoto knows it’s the last think she’d want from him, not wanting to be perceived as weak in any way. All things aside, he’s still impressed that she not only figured out the game, she gamed the bracelet too. Not that her incredible mind is new information by any means, of course. 

Still, he can’t help the huge, bright grin that overtakes his face when he sees her in the doorway to the headmaster’s office. It’s a strange kind of nostalgia after all they’d been through. Kirigiri looks healthier, and she’s walking just fine, even in her usual dress. 

“Good morning, Kirigiri. To what do I owe the pleasure?” Any formality to his words is likely ousted by the way he plays them up, standing to greet her. “I’m a very busy man, you know. But I suppose I can make some time for you.” He always will. They both know that.

🔥 - So, I don’t really know how unpopular this is, it feels like every time I go on the dash it seems like Tumblr is having a tug of war on this issue, like one day I will see posts circulating that encourage you to think bigger for AU’s and threads and go beyond just a ‘another Coffee Shop AU’ (their words, not mine - I like Coffee Shop AU’s personally.)

Like I said, I do see some posts stating the exact opposite but I suppose I just thought I’d reiterate it here - it’s okay to just have mundane threads.  I can understand why you would want to plot out something that’s big and wonderful and unique to both you and this other mun but a lot of these AU’s or plots also seem to involve a lot of brainstorming or careful planning, time perhaps, or even the right chemistry with the other mun maybe.  If you can get all of that to work that’s awesome but for muns you maybe haven’t had a chance to get to know as well or especially with everyone being pretty demotivated and busy due to COVID currently going on, it can honestly be hard to sit down and map out a ‘big plot’.  Some of you guys have even had to hear me say that I keep meaning to get to server stuff or plotting again and life just has a way of getting in the way sometimes - it’s nobody’s fault, you can’t control what happens in your life and what your mood might be and honestly if you don’t feel like writing, then I say don’t write - don’t quit writing but if you need a day off or three, then take those days off.  If you just want to talk to your friends on Discord about whatever or just goof off and game with them then do that.  I feel like some people and I’m guilty of this as well - kind of have the perspective of thinking of our drafts as kind of being like our ‘homework’.  I’ve definitely felt the crunch when it comes to drafts that I need to do.  Nobody is actively pressuring me or breathing down my neck, it’s just something that I feel and I know that I’m not alone in that and again, this sort of thing is nobody’s fault, the stars just really haven’t aligned for 2020.

But I guess what I’m getting at is that - it’s okay to just do small plots.  Like, I honestly love threads where Ryuji can just shoot the shit and talk about life, about sports, about his dreams - maybe have a conversation with another muse.  Or maybe there might be some light background goings-on, like them going for a walk or playing a sport or even just having a coffee.  There’s no shame in wanting to write what might be considered as ‘boring’ and ‘mundane’ and honestly who cares if a Coffee Shop AU has been written 9999 times already - I guess mine will just be #9999,1.

Also for the record I know these sorts of plots don’t appeal to all muns for whatever reason and that’s completely fine, I do understand the satisfaction of actually wanting to plot something out or have an overarching story.  I’ve just always kind of felt drawn to the more ‘mundane’ and ‘everyday’ threads, to be honest.  Partly because I’ve just never liked action threads and also partly just because of bad experiences with Skull and I know not every mun shares that opinion and that’s okay! Posts like this are just meant to be honest and I’m always down to plot or brainstorm, I just feel like it’s also okay to settle for some small stuff too.

Maki is still an enigma to Kyouko, so she can only hope she’ll enjoy the gift — an assortment of various teas, some of her favorites from her worldly travels, as well as a simple rose in vitro. All contained in the gift bag tied with a crimson ribbon that she’s currently holding out to the underclassman, a small smile gracing her features. “Happy birthday, Harukawa - san.”

It wasn’t even her real birthday... probably. Most of the kids at the orphanage had made-up birthdays, rough guesses made up just to have something to put down on adoption forms (as if any of them were ever going to be adopted). There hadn’t ever been parties, either. Money was always too tight, and chores too plentiful, to justify putting an entire day aside simply to celebrate a child who was so unwanted as to wind up there. 

After being recruited by the Holy Salvation Society, any hope of ever having one vanished. She had almost no free time. She had almost no personal possessions. As far as her superiors were concerned, she barely had a name, either, no identity or value outside of what she could provide. No one celebrated a tool getting one year closer to rusting.

Maki’s fingers gripped a bit too tightly at the bag as she took it from Kyouko’s hand, as if she were worried it would disappear entirely if she didn’t hold on with everything she had. “...” She’d need to keep it at school, of course. If it wasn’t stolen from her at home, it’d be confiscated, put to use by the administrators or simply thrown out entirely.

After a moment, she bowed to the older student. “This... wasn’t necessary, Kirigiri-senpai. But, still, thank you.” Even as she held the bow, her cheeks bloomed with warmth, her hands holding the gift bag tight and secure against her chest.

Maybe I was leaving you hints!” ...No. He’s not nearly as cryptic as that. That’s behavior more suited for Izaya or Mikado. He isn’t surprised that Kyouko is the first one to discover he’s back in town, though, and to be completely honest... he’s rather glad to see her.
