Asheiji in 19. In a blanket fort in their bedroom

“Eiji. This is so fucking stupid. I was kidding.”

“It’s too late. I was not kidding. We’re building the blanket fort.”

“Eiji,” Ash whines. But he laughs anyway, and drapes a blanket over the couch cushions nabbed from the living room. “How does this even work?”

“You make a fort with the blankets, and then you go in it! I’m sure your genius IQ can handle that, no?”

“But why?”

“For fun, Ash!” Eiji leans over and pokes him in the side. “Let loose and have fun, okay?”

Ash huffs. “I know how to have fun.” He makes his way under the blanket fort, and Eiji follows him. They sit there for a second. “It’s dark,” Ash comments.

Eiji laughs and pulls out his phone. He turns on the flashlight and sets it face down. “Better?”

Ash pouts. “You’re making fun of me.”

“Never, sweetheart.” Eiji leans forward and pecks the tip of Ash’s nose. But when he pulls back he’s grinning, and Ash just pouts more.

He sighs. “Now what do we do?”

“Whatever we want! We could read books, grab the Switch and play games, anything!”

Yawning, Ash leans forward and rests his head on Eiji’s shoulder. “I’m tired.”

Eiji pets Ash’s head softly. “Do you want to sleep? We can put the couch and bed back together.”

Ash grunts. “No. Stay here. Sleep here.”

“Sleep ... in the blanket fort?”

Ash buries his face into Eiji’s shoulder. “Sleepover,” he mutters.

Ash can hear a smile in Eiji’s voice as he says, “Of course, my love. We can have a sleepover.”

“Really?” Ash asks. His voice is a little higher pitched than he means it to be.

“Of course. Did you think I would say no?”

And he didn’t, really. He knew Eiji would agree to it. But part of him was hoping Eiji would say no, was hoping that Eiji would tell him off and say it’s too childish. But the blanket fort was Eiji’s idea to begin with, and ...

“Thank you,” Ash whispers.

“For what?”

“Everything.” Ash tackles Eiji softly, and the two of them fall back onto the pillows on the ground. “Everything.”

The eternal question ... What tends to happen to me most often is I’ll have single lines that pop into my head (like “I’m sorry that you love me”) and then I’ll piece them together!

✏️- favorite part about writing

When you’re really in the zone, you kinda slip into a space where it doesn’t actually feel like you’re writing anymore? It feels closer to reading, in a way—like the words are already there. You don’t have to actually write them down; you just have to make them appear.

23: What’s one piece of advice you would give to anyone who wants to start writing or posting their writing online?

Just go for it! Start small or start big or start wherever you need to. It doesn’t matter if it flops or does fabulously or anything. If you “only” get one kudos? That’s an entire human being who liked your writing! That’s fucking huge!! And you’ll never even have a chance of that if you keep things to yourself.

Oh hm! I don't spend as much time on Tumblr as I used to honestly since joining Instagram and Twitter, and mostly just stop by here to post stuff or fill my queue. But here's some art blogs I follow!

@funkyferretdoodles : Juliet! Actually one of my best friends! I knew her as an artist before we ever started talking. Her art is SUPER cute. Very unique style that I'm absolutely in love with.

@melonnyan : Their art is just PRETTY. Kind of ethereal, really good details, and some fun memes sometimes

@meloancholy: Really soft feeling to this art, and her comics are to die for! Lots of cute and funny stuff. She is THE asheiji comic artist in my mind. I love her shading style and I've learned a lot from her!

@flyinglynx: This is my roommate! Their linework is SUPER clean, which I really admire. They did artwork for my first multi-chapter fic a while back!

@spiriitsandsuch: Doesn't post Banana Fish content as often anymore (I think he's on Mob Psycho 100 right now), but still worth following for the art! His style is really cool, something I recognize immediately when I see it and I just LOVE.

@selfetishizing : Her painting is just? So cool??? I literally have her art hanging on my wall.

@oof-that-really-sucks-bro : Koi my beloved! They've been doing some extreme realism in painting lately and it's INCREDIBLE. They're one of my close friends too and have put up with me spamming them with my WIPs.
