EXPERIENCE  /  HOW  LONG  (  MONTHS  /  YEARS? ) :　Holy shit, you want me to count that far back. You want me to tell you how old I really am!?! So, I started to roleplay when computers were pretty new to houses. YES! I was one of those kids that was graced by the first computers in houses! I think my first computer was a IMB one or something, but I started playing on a computer with internet back in 2000. My parents didn't have a lot of money so we couldn't get an earlier computer; this was a gift from a friend at church for me. It had Windows 98 I think or something. I don't know.

Anyway, got distracted, but when that  came around, one of the first forums every I think that had roleplaying on the web was called Avidgamers. I played Pokemon as a self insert character. One liner diaster writer I was. So yeah, I've been roleplaying for about 23 years now, but in terms of writing, I have been writing stories since I was 9 years old, so that is about 26 years (I use to also write self insert stories in Sailor Moon or Pokemon or things like that XD). Anywho, I went on a tangent, anyone who reads this your amazing.

BEST  EXPERIENCE :　Oh man, I'm not sure. There are so many things that could be my best. I use to own forums before, I had some amazing partners. I miss them dearly and I hope they are doing amazing things now. Honestly, I think its just the level of growth I've had over the years. From going to being a self-insert writer who could only write a line or two, to now trying to expand my writing and doing more. To be more quality then quantity, but also meeting partners who absolutely challenge me to write better and be better. I want to be good for people, but there are those partners that absolutely push me to try even harder and be even better.

RP  PET  PEEVES  /  DEALBREAKERS :　I'm not saying this is a pet peeve? but I typically stray away from one liners or massive purple prose writing that I don't understand what I'm reading. While I never deny anyone's choice of writing, these are the things I tend to stay away from because I personally cannot write them. I  can't really say what my pet peeves are? I probably have some but I don't know of the top of my mind.

MUSE  PREFERENCES  FLUFF,   ANGST  OR  SMUT :　I am, hands down, an absolute fiend for angst. I know it might be overwhelming for some people but I really find it carthatic for myself? and have a double enjoyment of angst that turns to fluff. I like to call it Angsty Fluff, or Fluffy Angst. The bonding of two people in difficult moments whether that is fighting to survive death or helping someone through a rough period. Two people, bonding and encouraging each other is something I really enjoy to write. I also don't mind writing smut, I actually enjoy it but I do tend to write smut with people who I heavily plot with often.

PLOTS  OR  MEMES :　Plots. While I post memes a lot, I do try to create a plot line to those memes too. I need some kidn of foundation. I am not looking for a written out script we have to follow to a T, that's not what I mean. What I am looking for is just like this idea to build around, maybe even talking about our muses connections and waht they are dealing with at the time. That kind of foundation and design really helps me feel more connected to our msues and the writing. I love memes, but I tend to only continue memes with people I plot with a lot.

LONG  OR  SHORT  REPLIES :　I love long threads. like you don't have to apologize for anything because I thrive on really long replies. I have had replies go up to 1.5k words, which absolutely thrills me. The shortest replies I can do is maybe 2 paragraphs. Any shorter then that, and I tend to loose interest and have to drop it.

BEST TIME TO WRITE :　Honestly, no idea. I am far more productive at night my time (CST). I tend to stay up til 2 or 3am.

ARE  YOU  LIKE  YOUR  MUSE(S) :　Caitlyn is very much my muse, so much so we relate on many different levels. I understand her deeply and I'm very connected to her. As for my other muses, yes and now. But caitlyn, hands down, is almost like a part of me that I get to write fully.

PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: It depends on the day. If I'm at work (which I am most of the week), I can't easily access Discord since it's blocked on the work computers and using our phones is grounds for suspension. So, as long as folks can be PATIENT and not spam me, Discord is the preferred medium. Otherwise, Tumblr IMs are okay, too!

EXPERIENCE: I've been writing pretty much all my life, but on Tumblr, I'd say I've been here... almost 10 years, if I've not already reached a decade?

PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I adore fluff mainly. Too much angst makes things feel forced, and I don't like writing strictly negativity or tense situations. It's just not realistic, no matter how tragic a character's life/backstory is. I love fluffy interactions, I love writing domestic moments, and I love writing big developments. Moments that kind of... shift the dynamic and the world we're building together.

PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS:

People who are always negative, or who take things so personally to the point it becomes ridiculous. Vague posting, constant complaining, whining, etc... it gets to be too much sometimes, especially if it's untagged. We're here to write and to bond and vibe; how people manage to add melodramatics and high school drama to this, too, is beyond my realm of understanding.

Making big ship/dynamic decisions without asking me first. There's a difference between something being a surprise (like a marriage proposal), and just flat out moving forward with a big plot point without coming to me to see if I'm okay with it, because my muse(s) very well might not be, and I won't hesitate to state this (it kills the motivation, honestly). Roleplaying involves two, sometimes more people; this isn't a fanfiction, so all parties involved should be considered. Some of my muses don't want children, some of my muses aren't okay with sex, etc, etc. Communication, folks. It's not that hard, and most of the time, I'll be okay with it! Just ask first.

Constantly making blogs for muses and then abandoning said blogs, or remaking blogs multiple times a year. It's okay to want a fresh start from time to time, or to want to pick up a new muse, but I'm not about to keep switching up my tags because you need a new URL every 3 months, and I'm not gonna keep following if I notice you have a graveyard of abandoned blogs.

PLOTS OR MEMES: I'm not the BEST at plotting, especially if it's someone I've not been writing with for a long time, so honestly, memes are a bit easier for me to work off of. It gives me something to work with right from the start, and we can build from there and mold it as we go.

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: It depends on my motivation. I tend to take a very long time with my lengthier threads, so I like to balance it out with shorter threads, here and there, just to keep the muse flowing.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Motivation tends to hit while I'm at work, annoyingly enough, but typically, late at night works best for me. It's when I'm most active, since I literally stay up all night, lmfao.

RP PET PEEVES / DEAL-BREAKERS: thankfully i haven't been subject to any real pet peeves! The only one I can think of is when people consistently don't give me much to work off of in replies, but thankfully that hasn't happened as of late! And even if it does happen its not the end of the world.

( Favorite genre? Ah shit. I didn't think this far ahead alfjsdfjg Reading roleplay when I can kinda became a bit more of a luxury when I can considering my job and I'm usually busy on my days off for LIfe(tm) things. BUT if I do manage to read some roleplays, my genre isn't that specific bc I usually try to get an idea of someone's muse esp if I don't know them from their respective series. I do like some places where its the muses figuring things out or just small moments of development. Not really something that could be considered a genre but maybe some drama with a bit of action or banter. It's more about the dynamics between muses for me than genre..? )

- Quality> Quantity. I tend to mirror posts but I’m realistic, when it comes to some scenes posts tend to get shorter (like when we’re in a dialogue heavy one). I don’t need novella-length posts.

- Doubling is a must. I like to play both Canon and OCs, what kind of combinations depends on the fandom.

- MxF (playing both genders) is what I'm looking for in mains, although I have my occasional FxF and MxM pairings too, I’m coming back to these pairings after a long time. AGED UP IS A MUST. Unless my partner and I decide to not have any real romance until characters are of age, 18yo will be the minimum age of the characters.

- I like OOC chit chat, sharing all our memes, silly headcanons… I won’t pressure you for replies.

Percy Jackson OCxOC: I’ve watched the movies (I know, I know) and my roommate will lend me the books when she can. Haven’t watched the show yet.

We could come up with our own prophecies and make it original-esque even.

Spiderverse CanonxOC: Watched both movies, too much fan content and theories, bought figurines... I've always been a Spiderman fan and I'm having the time of my life with people loving the Spiderverse. Also, I'm finally getting into the comics. I'm open to ALTERNATIVE versions of these characters, bring me the originality of this fandom. I also prefer if my partner's OC has some kind of power or is at least included in the hero/anti-hero dynamic, since it makes it easier to move the plot along. Venom, prowler... variants are welcomed too! I have a few of my own hahahaha. I'm leaning more towards a Way of Water roleplay, either following the canon or doing a similar story to the first movie but with the Metkayina. But I'm open to other plots, even only with the Omaticaya clan and the forest biome.

I'm open to CanonxOC and OCxOC, but take into account that the Na'vi that I will be open to play will be the younger generation (as in Lo'ak, Neteyam, Rotxo, maybe Ao'nung, Tsireya, Kiri - both open for FxF -...) aged up.

Hey there! 26F looking for some discord/email roleplays with +20 people! I am open to roleplaying here but I don't have any experience.

I’m going to go straight to the point, to not waste anyone’s time:

- Quality> Quantity. I tend to mirror posts but I’m realistic, when it comes to some scenes posts tend to get shorter (like when we’re in a dialogue heavy one). I don’t need novella-lenght posts.

- Doubling is a must. I like to play both Canon and OCs, and I'm searching for CanonxOC in one fandom and OCxOC in another one. OCxOC doubling still applies. Basically we have 2 main pairings.

- MxF (playing both genders) is what I'm looking for in mains, although I have my occasional FxF and MxM pairings/ hc with partners I've roleplayed with before. AGED UP IS A MUST. Unless my partner and I decide to not have any real romance until characters are of age, 18yo will be the minimum age of the characters. I like to play lighthearted or dramatic younger shenanigans but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, as I've met my fair share of weirdos. NB characters can be hard on me as mains, as a non English speaker I end up mixing the nb they with the plural when there's a group scene. I tend to avoid them as mains but I'm not opposed to nb characters popping into the story from time to time.

- I like OOC chit chat, sharing all our memes, silly headcanons… I won’t pressure you for replies.

Percy Jackson- I’ve seen the movies (I know, I know) and my roommate will lend me the books when she can.

RP Interactions and Expectations

In light of the recent discussions I’ve seen on my dash today, I’d just like to say, as someone who runs an active canon RP blog in the DL community ( @ruki--mukami ), there are many factors I consider when formulating a response and considering the overall plot in general with my many RP partners. As a precursor, I’d also like to mention I consider roleplaying as the primary focus of my blog first and foremost. 

Admittedly, I’m not the best at coming up with a coherent story, but rather I consider my strongest suits my canon portrayal, character development, and writing style itself. However, as far as conflicts go, there is this tendency of mine to rely on a common challenge across all interactions: the conflict is Ruki himself. You know how stories often have several conflict archetypes (i.e., man vs self, man vs man, man vs nature, etc.)? 99% of the time, the RP interactions contain man vs man, or as I’d like to call, OC vs DL boy lmao. 

Most OC’s who interact with my Ruki in particular are bound to experience emotional and physical turmoil, even straight up torture in some cases, very early on. Hell, I’ve had interactions in which he would resort to biting as early as the first or second reply, and then proceeds to walk it off like nothing happened. That’s because he’s a Vampire. This is how I expect any Vampire to act, not just Ruki. I pride myself on staying in character from start to finish. 

With that said, my biggest reason for making him act the way he does is because personally, I love love LOVE writing developments in which Ruki starts off as a cold, sadistic Vampire, who eventually learns to find the beauty in the OC with whom he’s interacting and potentially develop some romance there. 

So, cutting to the chase... Why am I going on a tangent about this?

Well, I just want everyone who encounters my blog to know that I am willing to write just about anything as far as Ruki’s character is concerned. I love showing off ALL SIDES of his character, not just his sadistic or fluffy side. Call me a Ruki fanatic but literally every side of his is enjoyable to me. From his sadism, his snark, his sarcasm, his wit, his soft side, his role as a brother, his role as a lover, his role as a father even. 

For me, roleplay interactions are a two-way street. You want a fluffier, less violent plot with Ruki? Let me know and we can discuss the direction our interaction should unfold. You want him to go all out, no inhibitions, acting as sadistic as can be? I can do that too. In fact, I already have, and I will continue to do so. Please, don’t be shy or feel like you should be ashamed for wanting certain outcomes for your character. In fact, I highly encourage it. The purpose of my blog is to not only explore my own crazy Ruki fantasies, but also provide an enjoyable experience for my RP partners as well.  

It’s simply not enjoyable for me to write Ruki completely killing your OC if that’s not what you want at all. Let it be known that, despite writing him and his violent tendencies, I will never allow him to kill anyone. The only people he has killed are anons, and that’s because there is no personal OC attached. Call me crazy but the anon deaths are kind of a meme at this point on my blog. That same anon can “respawn” in theory and continue to ask him questions. In other words, it’s all in good fun, and anons make for the perfect writing practice for me to have Ruki go all out with his sadism without hurting anyone personally. 

From my perspective as a writer, you will grow by writing all kinds of scenes, which is one of the main goals of my blog. I want to become a stronger writer. I want to develop a nuanced style that paints the perfect imagery in your head whilst capturing Ruki’s character with the utmost accuracy. I want to be able to place him in ANY SITUATION and still make it sound believable for him. 

Now, it’s debatable on a case-by-case basis what one would deem as “believable” for Ruki Mukami. 

Let’s be real here. I’ve roleplayed in a lot of scenarios in which, realistically speaking, Ruki would either NOT CARE AT ALL about the situation at hand or just completely END the person bothering him. However, it’s not a very exciting answer if I just make him uninterested, now is it? That’s another joy I find with this blog, which takes me to my next point.

In every OC, there is something beautiful to be found. A treasure to be cherished. A diamond in the rough.

Taking that into consideration, I turn my own personal love for people’s OC’s and channel it as a reason for Ruki to keep them alive despite all the punishment, despite all the imprisonment, and despite all the downright torture. But I promise you, he will grow soft in due course. It just takes a slow burn, snail pace type of development to get to that level with him, and as writers I’m willing to work with you to get there. It’s my aspiration to see beautiful stories blossom on my blog.

Long story short, with each and every reply I consider these factors:

My own personal enjoyment.

My RP partner’s enjoyment.

The plot development (is there a setting, conflict, resolution, etc.?)

The character development (how will our muses change after this?)

The application and use of new literacy devices, vocabulary, syntax, semantics, metaphor, imagery, etc. that encourages all of us to do better.

The repetition (has this been repeated before? how can I make this different from my other interactions to keep things interesting for me?) 

So, as much as I would love to write Ruki as the sadistic monster he is, more often than not that route just simply isn’t going to develop into anything fruitful for any of the parties involved. I might not be a great storywriter, but even I can tell this much. I’m fairly certain many OC creators in this community can agree with the statement that they’d prefer not to have Ruki kill them off without a second thought. Yes, he’ll come pretty damn close to doing so, but I wish to allow my RP partners a chance to react to everything that is happening to their OC. As a canon, I realize the power dynamic is different from that of OC + OC interactions, since typically the DL boys themselves are the villains. 

Personally, as the person behind Ruki, my greatest enjoyment derives from writing him brutally sadistic early on and then slowly transitioning to an almost redeemable character who learns how to love despite his vampirism. It’s why I make him violent—because there is no greater satisfaction for me than to see this cold, evil Vampire melt into a warm and loving person. The more sadistic he is, the more satisfying it is because the OC or his lover in question has finally broken past his walls that he spent literal decades erecting around his ice heart.

TL;DR: PLEASE DON’T BE ASHAMED OF YOUR TASTES AND EXPECTATIONS FOR OUR PLOT. I’M LITERALLY DOWN TO WRITE ANY FLAVOR OF RUKI YOU WANT AS LONG AS IT’S REASONABLE WITHIN THE SCOPE OF HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

1- I been roleplaying since grammar school. My first time was in the Sonic the hedgehog fandom. And since then I've been roleplaying on and off for years. I got into marvel and created an fandom oc to roleplay as back in 2013.

2- I'm professional illustrator~! I usually draw moreso than write, but when the urge to write proves too strong I end up switching over to writing. You can find my art on twitter, tumblr, deviant art (a bit old stuff), and artstation. I usually like to create original content but I recently got into drawing fanart. I actually prefer to use my own art for my icons of my oc's/muses, which you'll see if you notice the icons I use for Niah.

3- I like to create origami paper cranes and tiny red hearts.

------Experience!

Platforms Used: I can't remember but it was some sonic forum I used to go on to roleplay, which I think I stopped around 11 years old. But I mainly have more experience with Tumblr. I used to discord before with a friend but I think I like tumblr more.

Plotting / Winging It / Memes: I like memes and plotting more that just winging it. It's easier for me to respond when there's some sort of foundation laid out first because it can be difficult for me think of something on the spot, mainly because of my fatigue and lack of energy, and it takes energy and time to think of a scenario at times. But if the mood is light and airy I can wing it alright.

------Fluff / Angst / Smut!

Fluff: Fluff is everything and is my poison. I get inspired from romance and fluffy gestures between characters. My oc, niah, is the loveful muse I have that's perfect for those type of scenarios, whether platonic or romantic. I use her a bit as an outlet in that regard to do fluffy interactions in my writings.

Angst: There's something about it that causes inspiration to soar as much as fluff do. I've always had oc's that had to deal with emotional hardships, which is something I'm often plagued with myself. It feels like an outlet of sorts to write a character that has to go through emotional anxieties.

Smut: I'll do steamy scenes but will usually fade into black. I can do things that's suggestive going into that territory just fine. But I require full on mutual chemistry between muns; I can't do it, actually, I'm incapable of it unless I have a nice relationship ooc and ic banter on the dash often. If I feel the relationship isn't mutual then it'll be impossible to imagine my muse getting intimate with anyone. And of course, chemistry between muses is just as important.
