I tried my hand at writing something for my Irken OC, Min. (it's only 1k words, so it's a short read)

I wanted to work out a scenario for her without having to draw out a whole comic. Hope you enjoy!

Feedback/Thoughts would be appreciated, and the bulk of the writing is under the read-more.

On the way to Scout her next assigned sector of space, a galaxy or two over, Mins downtime was suddenly interrupted by the loud alert of an Irken Pak's automatic Emergency Signal. She quickly straightened up, accepting the responsibility of responding and opened the informational window on her console.

Hm. She may be the closest Irken to the signal, but that doesn't mean it would be a quick trip to get over to them. She was already 2 days out from her next Scouting sector, and going out to this injured Irken would triple that travel time.

Min didn't have a choice either way, and would just have to deal with the annoyance. On the upside, she was looking forward to hands on experience with the internals of a Pak again. The simulations get a bit repetitive, and she knew her own Pak inside and out.

"Let me get this straight. A creature, native to this planet, got inside your pak and started messing with its internals?" Min asked, clarifying the rambling and nervous story that was just told to her over the past 15 minutes.

"Yes" the injured Irken in front of her replied, nodding his head. "That's exactly what happened."

"Squeeb's Pak hasn't functioned right since! The panels keep flashing red, and it's annoying" the remaining Irken, Floop, added in.

"And I have no energy. Can't even open my snack jar anymore!" Squeeb complained.

Min waited a beat for any more explanations, before finally trying to move things along.

"OK. Well, I'll need to get a look inside to figure out how bad the damage is. Do you have somewhere with better light?"

She could swear Squeeb's cheeks got a shade bluer as she spoke.

"Yes, yes! Of course. Just. Um. F-Follow me" stuttered Squeeb, getting up and leading Min towards their elevator, taking the pair deeper into the base, leaving Floop behind.

Was he giving her the Stink eye?

The elevator ride was a little awkward. Squeeb anxiously rubbing his arm as they descended. Maybe he was worried Min was going to break something and make things worse?

Before she could say anything to reassure her patient, they arrived to the right floor.

The two stepped out into a standard Irken medbay, Squeeb shuffling over and sitting on the swivel chair in the middle of the room. He did look a little more gaunt under the brighter lights.

Perhaps the Pak wasn't processing sugars correctly?

Only one way to find out.

"Hopefully this won't take long" Min reassured her patient, pulling up her own chair and adjusting the heights for optimal positioning.

Squeeb was tense, but he stiffened up even more as Min reached forward and opened up the panels of his Pak to get a look inside, letting out a nervous squeek.

"You don't have to worry, I know what I'm doing" Min told him, adjusting the magnification of her goggles and reaching into the Pak.

"I trained for a few years before my Assignment was changed to Scout, you know. I even worked under Spor--"

She cut herself off, too confused to continue her humble brag.

"You said a creature did this to you?"

"Yes, a creature. Why? Is something wrong? Is it bad? Oh God, it's bad isn't it?" her patient stressed.

"If a creature caused this" Min started, as she pulled something out of the confines of his Pak, "then how did a glove get back here?"

"He left his GLOVE in my PAK?" Squeeb exclaimed, shifting around in his chair and snatching it from Mins grasp. "How-- How stupid can he be!? How do you leave your GLOVE?!"

The quick shift had rotated her patient around fully, stopping Min from further access to her work.

He seemed to have forgotten she was in the room as he spoke to himself. That was, until Min wheeled closer, reaching to turn his chair back around. The moment he snapped back to reality, his face went bright blue. No question he was fully blushing now.

Squeeb clammed up again, quickly spinning back into position and hiding his embarrisment in one motion. "I-- I don't know how that got back there."

An obvious lie, but Min didn't want to challenge that right now.

"I just need to check the damage" she told him carefully, going back to poking around the complex machinary. "and look for anything else... Out of place."

...

"It's Floops glove, ok?" the anxious irken explained, breaking the silence and shifting in his chair.

"He- He was being gentle, and didn't mean to break anything. I know messing with Pak's without any training is outlawed by the Control Brains but-"

Min had to remove her hands and stop what she was doing, lest she knock into something important as the chatty irken started talking with his hands.

"We're so far from Irk! We thought it would be fine, and if we were careful enough, nothing would go wrong! But nooo, of course it's not that easy. It started BEEPING and scared us both. Floop must have jolted and broken something in there." Squeeb continued, gripping and twisting the lone glove in his hand.

Min couldn't get a word in edgewise, even if she wanted to -- which she did. She wanted nothing more than to fix this guys Pak and flex her technician muscles. But it was impossible with the paks owner so worked up.

"And of course he swore it was fine, but I knew, I knew something must have happened. His glove probably got stuck between something and he just took it off instead of wiggling it fr--- AAAH!"

The endless complaining was finally stopped by Min as she put both hands in his Pak and clicked the release, detaching it from the Irkens back.

"What are you doing?" he gasped, his 10 minute life clock flashing across his vision.

Min wordlessly wheeled her chair over to the closest wall, pulling down a thick pipe and plugging it into the open holes in Squeebs back. The life clock disappeared as quickly as it arrived.

"You'll be fine, I just need to work on this in peace" Min told him dryly, getting up and carrying the pak carefully into the attached room. She probably needed to work on her bedside manner.

i can’t help but think in that scenario, tired and already hurt over having had to send bailey away and willingly go back, only to be met with the goons and robin’s smile - his endless fucking smile, as he toys with you over and over again?

you flip your shit. quite literally. table goes floop and robin’s not expecting it, so in the chaos, you either acquire a knife or a gun. probably a knife since the aesthetic’s better.

you get enough slashes and stabs into anyone who tries to grab you but you’re up against the wall and holding it to your throat. you’re just so done with all of this shit and you’re willing to call robin’s bluff.

so either robin lets bailey the fuck go or he can find out what it’s really like to lose you. if he tries to taunt you by saying you won’t do it, you unflinchingly cut an eight of the way across. the bitter, angry tears makes it sting a lot. but it’s good. robin starts taking you seriously, then.

That one Medea quote fits here perfectly: “But my pain’s a fair price, to take away your smile.”

Kirito and Mc friendship Hc

For things to make a little more sense these headcanons are considering a scenario where Kirito is not part of the genociders and joins the summoners around chapter 3.

Kirito would be a very tsundere friend, he really cares about Mc’s wellbeing but it’s almost impossible to get him to admit it.

He is still very crass and sarcastic most of the time to pretty much everyone. He can be nice to others but he really has to try, so that’s an uncommon sight.

He spends so much time in Mc’s room that he is practically a resident, he is there so often that after some time almost no one is surprised (but most are still displeased) to find him there when they go to see Mc.

He walks into Mc’s room without knocking when Mc sees it’s Kirito they just scoot over to make a space for him in the bed so Kirito can floop down onto it. After that they just have a long comfortable silence or have idle chats about whatever comes to mind.

He is one of Mc’s confidantes, the other one being Lil’ Solomon, and he takes pride in that (he of course will never admit to that) . Mc feels comfortable talking to him about pretty much anything.

Nobody understands why Mc seems so at ease with Kirito.

Would be the only one of Mc’s friends not to have a crush on them.

Kirito would have none of Mc’s ‘I’m going to ignore my own problems in favor of helping others’ bullshit, he’d be like ‘No, you will sit the hell down and tell me what the fuck is bothering you, before I stab it out of you’.

Is always telling Mc that their flirting is going to get them in trouble more sooner than later.

On that note Kirito is completely immune to Mc’s flirting and teasing besides finding it annoying.

Has zero trust in Mc’s capability of staying out of trouble, he always assumes that Mc will get in some kind of strange and possibly dangerous situation if left to their own devices and is the only one not surprised when they do just that, so if he knows Mc is going somewhere alone he will insist on going with them to make sure they don’t get hurt.

He is against any and all signs of affection, the absolute most he would accept is someone telling him they're okay with him and only if that person feels like they must.

He tends to be harsh on Mc but would feel bad if something he said made Mc sad.

Is willing to beat up anyone who messes with Mc, but denies that it was because that person did something to Mc.

In the end I think Kirito would be a decent friend, if not a bit difficult at times. Or maybe I just like to imagine that bad guys have a soft side we may never know.

ALL THE FLUFF!!! I can do fluff :3 I try and keep everything gender neutral unless specified otherwise~~

This is a little aged up - they’re sharing an apartment in university or something like that.

___wasn’t going to lie, they ached. Last night had been pretty awesome, but now they were tired and just wanted to spend time with their amazing, if a little clueless boyfriend. Kageyama Tobio. Everyone called him a genius, but ___ knew about all the effort he put into volleyball and everything he took seriously, and it really was admirable.

Currently, the two were in their apartment. They’d gotten up at their usual time, gotten breakfast, and then stopped. Tobio didn’t have training today - it was a rest day - and neither of them had any classes, so ___ had suggested that they had a pajama day, just spending time with each other. No surprise Hinata had messaged Kageyama to go practice with him, but ___’s blueberry had turned him down. The thought made ___ smile a little

“What are you thinking about?” Kageyama asked, sitting on the sofa next to his partner ___ just smiled wider and shifted so they were sat on Kageyama’s lap facing him, and pretty much flooping on him, head on his shoulder.

“Nothing much. Just how much I appreciate and treasure you,” ___ replied. That got a small hum out of Kageyama as he wrapped his arms around ___ and closed his eyes.

He couldn’t deny, it was nice to have a day off to spend with his favourite person. He may not have been the most outwardly caring person, but that didn’t mean he didn’t feel just as much as everyone else. Since spending so much time with ___ and being in a relationship with them, Kageyama had realised just how much they meant to him - as well as just how much his friends meant to him, including that dumbass Hinata.

“What about you? You’re being quiet~” ___ asked, inhaling deeply.

“The same. I don’t have much time to spend off with you, so this is nice,” he replied. That was about as emotional as Kageyama got in terms of loving, but it was still enough to send a flush down ___’s face and neck.

“I think Tobio should look after me today...” ___ mumbled into the setter’s neck. Kageyama raised an eyebrow slightly, before realising that ___ couldn’t see that.

“Mm?” he questioned.

“I hurt from....you know....” ___ blushed, but smiling a little shyly at the memory. Kageyama also flushed a little at the memory.

“Alright. How about having a movie and snacks day? And you can wear my hoodie...” he offered. Kageyama was protective of his hoodie’s, and knew that ___ wanted to hog them all, so since he was offering, ___ practically jumped at the opportunity.

All in all, it was a gentle soft day in watching movies, teasing Kageyama and a lot of snuggles. They’d definitely be doing this more often.

The Beginning

“...we’re going to use the fact he is around to our advantage.”

“By looking through the eyes of others using the Mental World?”

“No. Sure, that’d be the easy way to get a look at his face… but he’d notice. We’ll be quietly observing his Mental World from the outside, and feeling his power. Thus, should a battle come...”

“Got it… Say, Nim, why don’t we attack him right now?”

“We certainly could, but… gathering info and then launching a surprise attack seems like a better plan. We don’t know his constructions: sure, one of them is an utility type without any offensive capabilities, made for erasing his tracks… but what if he has combat types as well? We’d better wait it out.”

“What if he attacks us first?”

“Well… we won’t be caught completely off-guard, thanks to my construction...”

...Oh dear.

It seems that I, Ienorb Yenruoj, have been detected. I guess even with the help of one of my constructions, my inexperience has been the fall of me… or perhaps they have an utility of their own to counter mine? That man mentioned his construction as a means of warning for incoming attacks… depending on how broad it’s applications are, it could also be used to warn him of potential stalkers… but, I mustn’t theorize too much.

I grab my things and walk away, keeping a close watch on their Mental Worlds, but though they became alerted, they didn’t move after me.

Still… speaking about this in the open, even in an alley, seems a bit suspicious. All I had to do was to transmit what a nearby black bird was hearing to my ear, and done. Could it be that they’re attempting to trick me?

(Time… Uh… Un-passes? I ‘unno man...)

“So, about the plan.”

“Yes?”

“Basically… we’re going to fake having an interest in him following us so that we can gather info, when in reality, since kore wa muri desu, we’re actually going to be counting on him being around listening through some means”

...For a simple plan, this is so needlessly convoluted that only Nim’s “Look at what I can do!” mind could possibly generate it.·

“Ok… And I’ll assume that there is a reason beyond you just hating her for us to not ask Wims to keep a crow around us to watch.” I thought he might get angry, but he was surprisingly calm in his answer

“There is indeed. Since that bitch is probably going to kill him on sight. I mean, stopping the serial killer is all well and good, but I’m not here to help people! I wanna’ conduct my interview!”

Kill him on sight? Wouldn’t she want to make news out of this? ...No, but then again, she has standards. Hearing that there was serial killer living in your midst without you ever even knowing there was one, let alone who, and that many members of your family have actually died already, you just can’t remember them… I wouldn’t mind it much, but I’m not everyone.

“? So what? If he fights us, we lose nothing. And if he decides to continue tailing, we can fight him right then and there. It’s a draw-win. Worst case scenario, he continues tailing us but is more careful and vigilant. That would be bad. But this is the guy that makes sure to completely erase someone’s records, so I’m guessing he likes to play safe a bit. Besides this plan is too insane. Thankfully, I can keep my identity a secret here thanks to my construction, Fog’s Mask, that allows me to hide my identity, location and mind in the Mental World. Though, it’s far from my strongest construction, and this assailant’s power should allow them to so through it if I’m not careful… Problem is, I’m not sure how much time it would take with that level of power...

One thing’s for certain though. If I am to finish this quickly, I’ll have to use The Arm.

Thankfully, Secret Police Force Karasu can warn me of particularly interesting events from far away, even if I have to get the crow close to get the details. Although, I’m not a 100% happy with this arrangement right now… I’d be better informed of what’s going on with Nim and Novalue, as well as the overall circumstance and the killer’s identity if I could get the info stored in that crow’s Mental World.

Well, not like it matters, I guess. Just gotta’ do some murder on the murderer and call it a day, yeah?

“Hmm. He’s far away, covered by some sort of fog, and examining with Psychic sense allows me to realize he’s wearing a mask. No doubt a construction of his to disguise data about himself. Now, the problem is… Though I could pick apart and see through the barrier, I doubt he’s going to just stay still and let me do so… Hm. The power of The Arm… The ability to manifest a Shadowy Killer’s intent, copying my arm and whatever it carries, and summoning said copy anywhere where it can come out of cover and be seen… Just like a murderer, that can come out of anywhere, precisely when and where you’d least expect to, and the only thing you’ll know of him is his actions, not his identity! Of course, as said description matches myself, it grants it much more power.

“Hahah. And this power goes a long way in ensuring The Arm’s overwhelming combat capabilities! Hurting my real arm in the Mental World will affect the summon, yes, but the reverse is not true. That, added with it’s ability to turn intangible and it’s speed make it quite sneaky… And it’s destructive power is unmatched! This woman has managed to resist it thanks to being overall more powerful than me, but I can see even from here that heavy damage has been inflicted...”

“Now, I’ll use her body as cover, with my vision covering her front! So long as my gaze meets that area unblinkingly, I’ll be able to make The Arm appear from behind her! And since it will stab her directly, that damage will definitely put an end to this!”

That thing he threw... Because it was so very fast, and because it dissipated and exploded in the oddest manner when coming in contact with me, I couldn't see it very well... But I did manage to take a photo of it, and through that, I was capable of "seeing" it... As whatever was caught in that photo was now part of my mental world as well, naturally.

And thanks to that, I knew that it was a knife...

“Well... Not gonna' lie, that was a simple, but strong move…” I said, while getting up... And picking a photo sticking out of the camera. “But... I managed to photograph it…”

For practical purposes, I'd say it's 80% for knowledge and memories specially, 40 to 60% for abilities and other things and 20 to 30% if we're talking emotion... No, wait… I have an idea. It’s true that I, Ienorb Yenruoj, am a very passive person. But whenever I face any sort of problem that I simply can’t get through, I evolve and reach a new level! And I think I just thought of a new way to use The Arm…

I jump forwards, observing my chest and summoning the arm using my body as cover… and then having it hold my body… to FLY!
