I did have errands to run, but now they all seem like the least important thing in the world to do. There’s a list in my purse, different stops I needed to make along the way back home, but now all I can think about is you.

You’re not looking at me, staring instead at the board, concentrating. Your brows dip down, a deep crease forming between them the way it always does when you have to think and think fast.

As enticing as it sounds to bug you at work all day, I’m sure that the second I leave, you’ll be arguing with Ron, Jimmy, Trapp and maybe even Bridges about this whole thing. You’ll be planning, trying to figure out the next steps, how to intercept it all and prevent this mess before it happens.

I don’t want to be a distraction when there’s real work, dangerous work like this. On the slow days sure I’d hang around but...but something doesn’t feel right, it’s too easy, too simple. The person behind this is smart, it’s just a matter of how smart.

“I’ll be waiting in the car at home until you pull up later. Maybe we can get dinner out somewhere, go to one of those restaurants you like.” I say, but you’re too lost in your own head to do much more than nod.

Exchanging I love yous and kisses for the road, you walk me to the lobby and wait until I’m in the car with locked doors before disappearing back into the CSPD.

The clock on the dashboard reads two-fifteen. I know you’ve got a good few hours before you’re off duty and can come home to me, so I stare at the errands list to see how to pass the time.

Post office

Department store

I could spend some time at the store, do some proper damage with the credit card. I can’t help but smile to myself about the seams on your shirts that are starting to come undone from too many washes, too many wears.

Yes, I decide, as I put the car in reverse and back out of the spot, I’ll kill the time getting Flip new flannels. Maybe a new pair of boots for him while I’m at it, oh and now that I think of it he tore my skirt the other day...

I'm so engrossed in my thoughts as I merge onto the main road, that I don’t notice the car with too-dark tinted windows following me just a few cars behind.

No god moding. The plot is to be discussed and agreed on together. Communication is also key, so don’t ever hesitate to share your ideas/opinions.

Smut is allowed, and I tend to be comfortable with most topics so don’t hesitate to come up to me with any “taboo” subjects you’ve been afraid to ask for from anyone. Judgment isn’t a thing with me.

Just wondering, if you don’t like rpf, why do you write and rp with Flip? He was in fact heavily based off of Ron Stallworths good friend Chuck. Is it the name change and tweak Spike Lee made to make the character Jewish that makes you comfortable to write for him? Just curious because writing for Flip, is technically rpf.

Hello! The film version of Flip is, by all accounts, a fabrication of a character made for the movie. Yes Ron Stallworth had a partner named Chuck, but there is little evidence of who he actually was, both within the context of the case and outside of it.

Due to this lack of context, the filmmakers created Flip Zimmerman to take on the role of being the white man who partnered with Ron. He isn't heavily based off of Chuck, but rather he was invented by the filmmakers to take Chuck's place. Yes this man is white, and he's Ron's partner, but that's about all the similarities the two share. He's not given the same name, or the same physical appearance (as far as we know, because there's only one photograph of who Chuck might have been), or the same heritage, or the same personality.

Because of this, I don't really consider Philip Zimmerman to be a real person. That is, we can't look to history to find out more about Flip, there's no records attached to him, there's no lineage or clues to try and see where he might be today. He's fictional. Flip as a character is just simply too far removed from whoever Chuck the person was/is, so it really isn't rpf in the way that someone like Dan Jones, or Gucci is, who are as accurate of representations of people as the filmmakers can get.
