Here are 4 ways to help keep you motivated and improve your consistency.
1- keep track of your progress.
It doesn't have to be on the scale. It can be daily habit checklist, body measurements, how your clothes fit, pictures, or how much weight you are able to lift.
You can always find progress somewhere.
2- Make small and achievable goals.
Trying to lose a lot of weight can seem overwhelming. Pick small goals that are much more attainable and let them build towards your ultimate goal.
Things like doing 3 workouts or cooking 5 dinners in a week, drinking 3 ltrs. Of water a day, losing 5lbs or being able to do pushups are small on their own but will give you a tremendous sense of accomplishment.
3- Remember wht you wanted to lose the weight in the first place.
It's easy to lose sight of the big picture so it's important to reflect on why you are making changes to help spark your motivation when you feel like giving up.
It could be to gain more confidence at the beach, to feel better in your work clothes, to have more energy for your favourite sport or to stay healthy and set a good example for your kids.
4- Seek outside accountability.
No one is motivated all the time. If you have other people counting on you, your chances of skipping a workout go down drastically.
