Daniel remembers the first touch, that day when Terry helped him to his feet after Mike knocked him down.  Large hands curling around his bicep and wrist, encircling them.

Years later, Daniel still dreams about it; nightmares in which Terry never lets go, fingers tightening until he loses all feeling in his arm, begging for mercy until he cries.

It takes his foot connecting so satisfyingly with Terry’s face for him to finally get the closure he needs.  The last touch they’ll ever share, delivered on his own terms.

That night, for the first time in years, Daniel sleeps soundly.
