Hello! Hope you're having a good day/night! Would you happen to know of any angst with a happy ending fics surrounding Accepting Anxiety? Like, pre-AA transitioning to post-AA by the end (because even though *I know* V gets his happy ending then I need the fic not to end with angst) or awkward post-AA Virge and the other sides getting used to one another? This is pretty specific, so if you can't think of anything that fits that's okay.

@randomslasher​ has a few fics I think fit your parameters.

Solo: “ Virgil has never been to a party before. It had been an unspoken agreement through the years: when Thomas was having a party of any kind, the best thing Anxiety could do was stay as far away as possible.”  Takes place post-AA, miscommunications, angst with a happy ending.

Snow Day: “Every year, the sides go to Roman’s realm and spend a few days enjoying the snow. Well…most of the sides.” It’s a three-part series. Part 1 is set pre-AA while part 2 and 3 take place post-AA, angst with a happy ending.

Unseen Intentions, Glimpses and Unveiled Intentions by @justanotherpurplebutterfly​: It is a three-part series  that spans from pre-AA to post-AA, focusing on Virgil caring for the others even when they don’t realize it. It is technically a Wing!AU (Virgil has wings that are invisible to the others) but it’s set in the canonverse so I included in this fic rec.

The Consequences of Sound by @theeternalspace​: “Anxiety hurts Thomas. It's just what he does, what he has always done. It's not what he wants. He only wants to protect him but that is easier wished for than done.

When the opportunity to prove himself opens up to him, he grabs it, for once not caring about the consequences. Things go downhill from there.The fall, rise, fall (and rise again) of Virgil.”

Look. Discovering this fic on AO3 one night was like discovering the Holy Grail. It covered all the bases. Fantastic Characterization? It begins pre-series before transitioning to pre-AA and then into post-AA content? Virgil Angst? Check, check and TRIPLE CHECK. So much of what goes on feels like it could’ve been happening behind the scenes of the videos.

This is the one of the best Sander Sides fics out there and I will physically fight you on this. That means you too Acantha

The Shapes in the Silence by @delimeful​:  “A pre-AA AU where Virgil transforms into a miniature dragon when stressed and is promptly adopted by the light sides.”

This is ongoing and I could be mistaken but I believe that author has said this will transition to post-AA and feature a happy ending. It is a fantastic fic and I cannot recommend it enough.

FIP: Family in Progress by @coconut-cluster​:  “Just after they’ve learned to accept Virgil as a true part of the group, the Sides realize there’s a bit more work to be done before they’re a fully functional famILY - but they’re working on it

This fic is like,,, the epitome of post-AA awkwardness. It’s very sweet--they are really are trying their best to make things work. It’s definitely one of those fics you read curled up with a hot drink on a rainy day.

Monster of a Deal by @mumblings-of-a-dreamer​

“Virgil had one month. One month before everything caught up with him. One month before everything would fall apart. It all had started with a simple deal. A simple, selfless agreement. But now, now that simple transaction is going to destroy him.

This fic is ongoing. It starts off pre-series, and it is currently pre-AA. It is a Magic!AU set in the canon-verse setting but like,, it is so good. The author does a good job establishing the world and bringing the characters to life. I love reading each chapter and see how the plot unfolds, little by little.

A Sweet Discovery by @stillebesat​: This is a very cute fic that takes place shortly after My Negative Thinking and features tiny!Logan interacting with Virgil. There’s a tiny bit of angst involved, of course.
