I finally got around to starting a new story that I'd been wanting to write for a while, and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's been nice to have some fresh creative energy and get back into the swing of things. I’m so excited to make more progress on Snow White and the Guardians of the Sword! 🍎⚔️ It’s been so much fun coming up with story ideas and writing out new scenes. The best part is that I feel more confident about where this story is going. I can't wait to write more this month. I want to get my novel done and out in the world! As we stand in front of problems; they try to crush us, overwhelm us, make us realize that nothing we do can make it disappear.

But what we not see with our eyes only fixated on problem itself; is that, soon, as time walk it's way, this too big of a problem will also become as helpless and small as us, as it loses its purpose and power over us with time.

So, no matter the situation, circumstances, involving your loved ones or you or your friends; keep in mind that nothing lasts and this hell of a problem ( no matter what it is) too shall pass!

“The inside of a working woman’s head is like the control tower of O’Hare airport.” That quote repeats in my brain a lot. It’s from the movie (based on the book) “I Don’t Know How She Does It” with SJP. ✨ I watched it recently and deeply identify with the portrayal of the multitasking #workingmom—especially this year, when we’ve been asked to juggle crystal heirlooms while standing in tree pose and listening to Baby Shark. ✨ “Mom! Didn’t you see that email from my teacher? I needed my white binder!” “The next round of edits is coming next week.” “GG’s 100th birthday is coming up, can you finish writing her biography?” “COVID shot eligibility for the state of Pennsylvania…” “Ms. Wallach, I’ve always admired you as a writing teacher and I’d love it if you would read my novel…” “Google: How to build your social media platform…” “When was the last time we took the cat to the vet?” “Are you interested in teaching a course this summer, if so, please fill out employment form…” “Summer camp registration for Early Bird rates need to be returned by…” ✨ On and on it goes. Normally, #multitasking is like washing your hair, something you do but don’t talk about. But in the past twelve months, I feel like the tasks we’ve all undertaken (whether you’re a parent or not) are not only plentiful but heavy. Unexpectedly, someone secretly replaced the crystal heirlooms we’d gotten used to juggling with lead balls. And we all need to figure out how to put a few of them down. If that summer camp fills up before you get around to booking, you know what? Your kids will go somewhere else. If you don’t have time to take on another project, job, gig, say no. It’s okay. It’s not easy, but we’ve got to start looking at what’s really important to us before our arms give out and drop we drop everything. ✨ QOTD: Have you started saying ‘no’ this past year? Here's a fun snippet I wrote for the Writers Write Snippets challenge: The garlic and herbs sprinkled on top of a buttery crust made it extra tasty. Cheese bubbled over spicy tomato sauce. It's no secret that I love pizza. I hadn’t realized my hunger when I refused his original offer. “So, how did you like my pizza?” A voice asked from behind me. Startled, I choked on my last bite. “I love it!” I said through my coughing fit. “See? What did I tell you?” "I love it more than you," I said. "Wait, you love me?" "Look Ardit, you can't compete with my love for pizza. It's a losing battle. You should stop trying... it's pathetic really. But at least we have this moment and it'll bring you some comfort." Ardit stared at me and burst into laughter. “You’re right,” he said after recovering from laughing. “I guess I am pretty pathetic compared to you. I’ll go eat my pizza alone. Stories choose us. If you try and force a story, you will feel more than writer’s block—you’ll feel writer’s boulder. It’s terrible & I don’t recommend it. Representation of queer identities in literature, and media in general, is something that the LGBTQIA+ community has been fighting for a long time.

⠀

Luckily, today we have way more rep than 10 or 20 years ago. However, we still have a long way to go to make representation truthful and diverse enough for all queer identities. We still see a lot of token rep, and downright harmful rep that can worsen how society views queer folk.
