also that def made me more mentally ill or rather but metaphor and imagery to parts of myself/feelings/emotions I didn't have the language to understand

my poetry is full of self cannibalism so i totally get the other layers if the end and just the implied emotional visceral violent metaphor to things and urges and voids ive felt for years all throu visions amd words and thoughts and noises of visceral consumption, sharp toothed desired and self destructive hunger

#you know how poetry often isn't that interested in telling the full story but instead #picks one specific moment and focuses on what it feels like to inhabit that moment #with such. precision. that you have to carefully read every word #unlike with fiction where the brush strokes are coarser #and you can skim-read. or skip a word or a sentence or even an entire page and the story will still make sense #I think this poem is so incredible for the way it forces you to slow down your reading #to take in this moment together with the poet #I read it and it slows my breathing down #slows my heart down. fills my lungs. #it is a beautiful beautiful poem #and there is so much room left on the page #for the person reading it #like. yea. same boat. moves me to tears

do you ever think about the fluidity of love & how we feel it & express it. do you ever think of how much the sea is like being in love. with all its turbulence. with its vastness. with its unpredictability. with its fear and how you can’t tame it. there are so many types of love. not love languages but rather love itself. there’s a love that would sacrifice itself for you without being asked; without hesitation, but wonders if you’d do the same. there’s a love that’s tired and exhausted and sees your exhaustion and hopes that when destruction comes it comes for you together. there’s a love that knows you aren’t as committed as it is but it has the temperament of a loyal hound & will love you and try to make you happy no matter if you’d be willing to return the favour or not. there’s the the love that wants to run away with you. explore the world with you. there’s the love that feels like it surrounds you. consumes you. overtakes you in the forms of strong tides. love is everything like the vast waters i think. love is running away to sea and abandoning the life you had before. love is the water that softly collides against your feet when you’re standing on the beach lost & unknown. love is the waves that cut and kill. love is drowning together
