Just a heads up to people who are writing Ptilopsis/Joyce and want to stick to the way she talks as accurately to canon as possible: Even despite Device #9's effect on her, Joyce can still refer to herself in the first person. She often says "me" or "myself", or uses "I" - she doesn't usually refer to herself as a computer or talk in the third person (i.e., something like "Operator Ptilopsis believes (x)" or "this unit believes (x)"). I wouldn't say she has a super-consistent use of computer terminology that she uses in her regular vocabulary (i.e., you couldn't make a list of phrases that she replaces with specific computer language every single time), it's mostly just unique depending on the circumstance. However, for one effect of Device #9 that is fairly consistent, she usually calls Silence "Silence" or "Dr. Silence" while Device #9 is functioning properly, but calls her "Olivia" when it malfunctions in Dorothy's Vision. However, she DOES refer to herself as "Joyce" in the third person in the flashbacks in the RL Manwha (with the caveat that she's being a little silly here and might purposefully be playing up the computer terminology, which she does fairly often):

Keep in mind that even in the manwha however, she still does use first-person pronouns in the present!

I just thought I'd make this post because I see a lot of people misunderstanding the effect Device #9 has on her way of speaking. As far as I remember and from skimming through all her major appearances, she never calls herself 'this unit' once, even though she does that pretty frequently in fanon. She often refers to her own mental faculties as computer terms and uses computer metaphors a lot, but doesn't usually engage in total depersonalization. Here's an example of her using both first-person language and using computer metaphors at once from her Stories of Afternoon Vignette:

TL;DR When talking, Ptilopsis can use first-person and second-person pronouns, and rarely refers to herself in the third-person. While she often uses computer terminology or computer parts to refer to her actions or mental functions, she usually doesn't refer to herself as a computer (i.e. "this unit").

I am going to be completely honest - I am more desperate than I have ever been. The money is to help my girlfriend and get her car fixed, but at this point I am also doing this for ME. My mental health is not great right now. I cannot take anymore catastrophic let downs and heartbreaks. I need her here. I am an absolute mess this far away, this helpless and watching both of us get sucker punched left and right. I need one good thing to happen. And I can't do that without help so I am on my knees.

At this point her brakes are now making a sound and vibrating. She still needs the money to get everything checked out. We're still waiting for someone to agree to take over her part of the lease and we're still hoping beyond hope that we can get everything together in the next few weeks. I need this. She needs this. WE need this.

I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't absolutely at the end of my rope desperate, believe me.

Just as I was starting to come back, thinking things were finally truly going well in my life… bad things happened and piled up on someone I love very much.

For those of you that know me, you know about my girlfriend Ebi. I absolutely love her and she means the whole world to me. She's literally the kindest, most giving and hardest working person I know. She’s an amazing person and has done so much for me including dropping everything and driving 5 hours to be with me when my health tanked and she stayed by my side through surgery. Not just saying all that because girlfriend, I sincerely mean it. And we all know life is shitty sometimes and life has been really dumping on her over and over and it's a lot. There's only so much I can do and it pains me not to be able to wave a magic wand and be able to help and fix everything for her. I would if I could, believe me.

She's had a lot of really high unexpected bills dump on her in fast succession recently as we work to get her moved to Ohio by May. She needs to pay taxes on the car, she had to get 4 new tires put on, she owes all of her monthly bills and now she found out that her car's previous owner didn't get a repair done while it was under warranty that now needs done... This repair involves her brakes and master cylinder and could cost anywhere from $700-$1000+ and this is.... Clearly devastating. It's $200 just to look at it and get an estimate and that's $200 that she doesn't have.

She spoke with Toyota Care and was told they can’t help her. They quoted her at $692 if she needs just the one part and $3000 if she needs the whole system done and the first place that found the issue seemed to think it was the whole thing so… this was devastating and hard. Without a car she can’t work. Without work she can’t get money or afford to live where she is now. Without a car she can’t move here like she was supposed to the beginning of May. Everything is so on edge and on hold.

Mind Flayer ge.nitalia under the cut + some ideas

Illithid se.xual organs are a trait often up to debate- whether they have them or not the first one, and those that discover they do (or some do) debate reason. It could be something that simply has yet to be bred out with evolution yet when tadpole creation was different or a trait from hosts kept, or something else entirely.

Organs are completely hidden on pelvis, all internal and so finely knitted one would not be able to see an opening.

The network of the two organs can be adjusted as necessary- for example, turning the external one into a means for egg laying instead of requiring internal sex for that.

The cilia was likely a means for gripping and holding at one point, but is not developed enough anymore for that- due to lack of need

It is sensitive unsurprisingly.

Fully prehensile

Only two openings, and as said can be connected if necessary. Mind Flayer have no need for other openings one would find in similar anatomy, and don't have much need for more than one but again that has not been phase out.

Rainbow and Sweetiebelle trotted after Twilight, who was leading them to Scootaloo' cell. The orange pegasus filly did nothing, just... stared straight ahead. With that horrible grin. It made Twilight wonder if the infecteds' mouths could even close.

"Here she is." Twilight said, stepping back so that Rainbow and Sweetie could see what had used to be Scootaloo.

Sweetiebelle shrieked in terror, covering her eyes with her hooves. Rainbow looked... stunned. "...What happened to her?" She said, looking at Twilight.

"Applejack's video wasn't a prank. It's an infection, a... a virus, maybe? I'm not fully sure." The purple pony replied.

"...She looks like a zombie..." Sweetiebelle whimpered. "Or a decayed apple... With all those sores on her body- c'mon, someone needs to patch her up!" The unicorn whined.

"A decayed apple?" Twilight chuckled. "I suppose we have a name for our little ailment now. The Decaying Apple infection." She said playfully, in an attempt to make Sweetiebelle smile.

It didn't work. So Twilight sighed, clearing her throat. "I'll let you two have some time alone with her. Just don't get too close. I think this stuff spreads through the bloodstream, Scootaloo was infected through that cut on her side."

Then she left.
