2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
643,096 words
Mostly written within the last 5 years!
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Breathing Water - My flagship fic for the longest time. It still holds up 4 years later! And I'm still simping for Neloth.
Halfway to the Sky - Coming in with only about 30 kudos less than BW, I'm always tickled and humbled and just so honored that so many people like this story.
The Shadow Over Solstheim - This one had the most kudos for the longest time just because it's my oldest multi-chapter fic. Baby's first foray into something more than a smutty one-shot! My writing is unpolished and my lore knowledge is amateurish at best, but it's just so full of verve.
Hollow Men - A fic I honestly didn't expect many people to read due to the subject matter, but one that's near and dear to my heart.
Invictus - The bonkers, off-the-rails sequel to Shadow Over Solstheim in which Topsy discovers TES Lore in real time as they write. I don't think I could ever write something this free again even if I wanted to. I'm too burdened by knowledge (much like Teldryn).
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to respond to almost every comment, but sometimes I get stuck with Comment Paralysis and they just pile up in my inbox until I'm thoroughly overwhelmed. I read every single comment and blush and kick my feet excitedly, though.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hmmm... I don't really do angsty endings. I like pleasant, contented endings, sometimes bittersweet, sometimes open-ended. But I guess Dreamers, my Hadvar/Ralof fic as it currently stands, has the angstiest ending. At least until I manage to finish the final chapter...
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Uhhhh... They're all pretty happy, from my perspective at least. Maybe Finding Mara takes home the gold for happiest ending. (Erandur takes home the gold, too -snerk-)
7. Do you write crossovers?
I have written exactly one crossover and it's the oldest fic on my AO3 (from 2014). Otherwise, they're fun to think about, but nah. Not really.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
If you count an entire series of callout posts, years of harassment, and people jumping to conclusions over a fic they never even read, then the answer is yes.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. All kinds, but generally smut with a purpose. "Porn with plot" as they say. I write smut that zooms into the characters' heads, prys open their wants and desires and fears and insecurities. I write smut that can get a little hyper-realistic, to the point of sometimes being kind of gross. I write smut as a form of raw expression, people at their most vulnerable, literally stripped bare. It's one of my favorite things to write because it is an endless exercise in character study, in boundaries, in what it means to consent, and how the lines between who we think we are and what others perceive us to be get so easily blurred.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I have, they've gotten away with it.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, once! Someone asked if they could translate the first chapter of Halfway to the Sky into Russian.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, back when I first joined the TES fandom. Two of my fandom bests at the time co-wrote a couple of stories with me. One is posted to AO3 (Ceasefire), and the other was a horny, whirlwind, feverdream of a fic that the other author and I mutually agreed we would probably never share with the greater world lol. We are still bests to this day and I often revisit that fic in awe and bafflement of our energy.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
It's so tough to choose, honestly, but I gotta go with Neloth/Teldryn, because it just took me by surprise and spun out into something so wild and wonderful.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I never say never with my WIPs. If I've learned anything over the past 5 years in this fandom, it's that I'll pick an old WIP up on a whim. I do wanna get back to my Arvel the Swift WIP at some point. I also started working on a Dark Brotherhood-centric fic last year, too. And so help me Talos I am going to finish Dreamers.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. People talk in my head and I just write it down. It usually ends up sounding pretty natural. And pacing. I feel like I manage pacing pretty well and can make good calls as to when a scene is dragging or we need to skip forward in time a bit.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Wordiness. Relying too much on "feeling" words. Telling instead of showing more than I need to. Repetitive sentence structure. My goal in 2024 is to become more direct and succinct with my writing style.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Eh... I've done it before. I threw in a lot of Dunmeris and Ta'agra back in the day when I was first writing TES fic, but I'd say just use italics and translate what's being said. Or, alternatively, if the POV character can't understand what's being said, don't even use dialogue, just mention that it's being spoken. It's all gobbledygook to them anyways.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Yu Yu Hakusho (in 2004)
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I'm monogamous with my fandom currently, so I'd really love to write something with Cicero, because it's been a long time coming.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
That's really hard to choose. They're all my favorite when I'm writing them. Each fic is its own little relationship for me. I don't write things unless I'm absolutely in love with what I'm writing. So they're all my favorite, in that sense.

So I decided to snag this from @sparklepocalypse and fill it out because I'm cozy on my couch on New Year's Eve and fighting off a nap like a grumpy toddler. I'm actually fairly certain I've done this one before, now that I think about it, but oh well. The numbers are different since last time, so...
1. How many works do you have on AO3?

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to each and every comment that I receive. I try very hard to leave a personalized message for each person, but no matter what, even if it's just a "thank you," I will always respond! Even if it takes me some time!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
To this day, the angstiest ending is Darkest before the dawn, which ends with hope, even if it doesn't end with an actual resolution. It's during canon, so the reader know what happens next.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
I think my most recent Christmas fic, Oh what a laugh it would have been, has probably now overtaken one of my previous fics for overall happiest ending!
7. Do you write crossovers?
I haven't yet, but I'm absolutely open to it given the write parameters!
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I haven't yet, and I hope I never do, although I know that the internet can be a wild place.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
If you'd asked me back in July of this year, I would have said that I primarily write fade to black. Since then, I've written ridiculous amounts of smut. I'm still learning about various kinks I'd like to write about, because I don't want to just write without knowledge of the act itself, but I'm wading into the smut-verse now. I'd say the water's up to my knees, at this point. Got a ways to go.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, not that I've been made aware of, but I think it would be so neat.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't but catch me and @thinkof-england cowriting something amazing now that the new year has arrived.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Y'all are gonna need to sit down for this. I don't think you're ready. Deep breath in. Hold it. Now let it out slowly. Calm your mind. Are you ready? Okay because I know this is going to come as a shock to you when I say that it's FirstPrince.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
A Star Trek fic with Jim Kirk x an OC. I started it back in the spring and then RWRB happened and now it's just languishing away in my docs at just shy of 18,000 words.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told that I have realistic dialogue, so I'll count that as a strength. I also think I'm pretty skilled at metaphors. Love a good metaphor.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
The description of surroundings, including clothing and scenery. I feel like I don't do enough of this sometimes, and I'm trying to better at painting a proper picture.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I've done so! Lots and lots of research and consultation with native speakers to confirm accuracy.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Pirates of the Caribbean, apparently.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
There isn't really one out there. I'm super content with the permanent campsite I've built in FP land. Hopefully I'm allowed to hang out there for quite some time.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
How am I supposed to pick a favorite out over 60 fics?!
I suppose if I absolutely HAD to pick right now, right this second, I'd say Ghosts, because the prompt for it as my first ever reader-submitted prompt on a comment from another fic. The reader enjoyed my fic so much that they asked if I'd write another, and Ghosts it what came of that interaction. I loved writing it and sharing it not just with that reader but with the fandom as a whole.

I try to! I do get overwhelmed if I get more than one at a time and I’m also a humongous procrastinator, so I do have a stack of comments I need to reply to at the moment. I’ll get to em eventually :p
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Uhm. Uhhhhh. Hard to say considering I’ve only written the three fics, but Ascent has an angsty ending in store. But that’s FAR down the road, I’m hardly a quarter of the way thru it.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
My smut oneshots LOL. For real though, Into Ash has a fairly happy ending.
7. Do you write crossovers?
No and I have zero interest in doing so.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, just my oc/Teldryn filth lmao

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Can I be biased and say Telwren? I’m going to.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I started a oneshot about my dragonborn’s eventual death and the events following shortly after, but I haven’t touched it in ages and likely never will again.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Setting descriptions, I guess?
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I think I fall short on pacing, though I’ve been told otherwise. Fight scenes are also a huge struggle for me, as well as portraying extreme emotions.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I only know English, so any other languages in dialogue would be a word here and there, such as Dovahzul or a few Dunmeris words that I’ve used in my fic. If I decide a character is going to do some speaking in a different language, I would simply mention it in the dialogue tags and just write the dialogue in English, as to avoid having to translate. Especially for fictional languages where we don’t have a reliable translation tool.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Skyrim lol I’m new to this
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Honestly I think after I’m finished with my Skyrim fic, I won’t do any more fandom writing but will venture off to original stories. If I HAD to choose another fandom to write for, it would probably be like, a oneshot for Pokemon or something

Ascent from the Ashes is my pride and joy and I’m still working on it :)

I think it has to be (we'll always long for) one more song on account of the whole MCD thing 😅 (but they lived a long happy life, I swear!)

Most of them have happy endings, I think, but if I had to pick one, I guess it would be the lie between your teeth, maybe because of all the angst it took to get there lol

I wrote one (and half of the sequel) and started another!

Yeah. If people could not do that, that would be super.

Lol it's very funny that I did not used to write smut at all and now I've been told that my brand is filth and feelings. So yeah. I do write smut and it does tend toward the kinky side of things, but it always has a whole lot of feelings and love and tenderness behind it.

Not a whole fic, no.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but that would be so cool!

David/Patrick, my beloveds.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
The thing about me is that I am extremely stubborn and unwilling to admit that there are things that I'm not going to finish even though the likelihood of me finishing everything in my WIP folder is...basically zero.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good at getting inside characters' heads and portraying their emotions. I am also pretty good at weaving bits of canon in to my own story.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions of the way things look. I don't visualize things when I read (i.e., if I read the word apple, I don't see an apple or even the word apple, it's just like, yes, I am familiar with the concept of the apple) so I often struggle with those kinds of physical descriptions. Also, fuckin' dialogue tags.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I'm not opposed to it if it fits the story and the character but would want to confirm with a native speaker first.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Rent.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I have not written June/Nora yet but I wanna.

"all-time" is a tall order, I'm too much of a multishipper to settle for one. Oldest now relevant again is probably Percy/Annabeth but I was never super active online about it
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I have 40k of a modern AU CarolMaria kdfic I started ages ago (last open rn is 2021 and it's older than that) and got stuck at the end bc I couldn't quite figure out the sequence of events. It has SO many scenes I love but I can never quite get back to it (the MCU's current storyline doesn't help either :/)
Another is a throwaway doc of a Monthy Python-style medieval comedy for TOG that I never sat down to brainstorm
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at creating visuals without needing suuuper lenghty detailed descriptions
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I get too wordy and over-complicate my sentence structure, it's why I usually try to get a beta that has no issues tearing my writing apart to streamline it
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I enjoy it! I routinely use different languages in my every day life so it feels natural to me. I think rendering everything to English can be flattening and strip characters of their richness sometimes, while I also understand there is a line between incorporating a character's cultural bg and making a caricature of it, so I try to get the right feedback before I hit post and I'm always open to talking it out.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Unposted Percy Jackson, posted the MCU (A Lot Of Issues)
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Don't think I have a particular craving atm, perhaps Spadeliano (Suburra: La Serie) but I have no plot for that, or maybe Kanthony (Bridgerton Netflix) bc when I went looking for fic nothing was quite was I searched for. Oh or Lupin (TV) cause I getting into Youssef's head when he's working with Assane promises to be so much fun, though it wouldn't be shippy

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
About 70,000. One of my works is shared, plus keeping the math vague because of masquerade :)
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. I try to respond to every comment I get, because I appreciate anybody that takes the time to read my work and respond to it!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
None. I don't do angsty endings, at least not yet!

Well, only one of the ones I can talk about is actually a completed work, so.... Offices, Onions, and Optimism it is!

Nah

No yet, which I'm super grateful for. The comments others have been getting lately are horrible.

Comedy, and the ability to tell a story without a lot of dialogue

Scene description. Where are they? Who knows! Let your imagination decide what each space looks like
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Hmmm. It can serve a purpose in the right situation. I don't think I would do it without consulting with someone who speaks the language.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Ok. Well... published, it's Gallavich. If we are talking about stuff I wrote just for personal enjoyment, my very first foray many, many years ago was in adding to Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar book series.

Not sure there is anything else right now - no room in my brain for anything else

Ok, well I love Battlefield Chicago, even on the days when it's a slog to get the next chapter finished. But Weed Dreams just makes me laugh, so probably that one.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
98 (as of January 1st, 2024. I'm counting tomorrow's fic today because by the time most people on my dash see it, it'll be next year. 😂)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
396,868 words (as of midnight; 386,482 prior to midnight tonight).
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

I try to at least reply with an emoji if I can! But generally, I try to match the energy of the commenter. I really enjoy hearing from people about my work and want to make sure they know I appreciate them for taking the time to leave their feedback.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Oh jeeze, we'll have to harken back to pre-therapy Mags, well before 2023, for this question. (Current Mags has had a ton of therapy.) Probably I Stole Away and Cried [Supernatural RPF, M, 5.7k words]?
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
I am a lady who loves a happy ending. I'm going to nominate So I Will Weather the Storm [Red, White & Royal Blue, E, 9.8k words] for Happiest Ending in a Mags Fic.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I used to write fics with elements of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series, but I feel like that... doesn't really count. I also cross canons in the Red, White & Royal Blue fandom... but again it feels like it doesn't count.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Absolutely. The early 2000s were a volatile time on the internets, as we fandom olds say.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
AHAHAHAHA wait, you're serious. Um... M/M, with a pocketful of kinks thrown in for flavor? My Kinktober 2023 [Red, White & Royal Blue, E, 92k words] series is a good place to get an idea of what sort of smut I write.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, but I haven't been on Fanfiction.Net in approximately 15 years, and don't have a Wattpad account, so... who knows!
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't believe so? But that might be fun.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Many moons ago, I used to co-write fic in the Glee fandom. I was one of the authors of the Kurtofsky IMs, for those of you who are in the know.

15. What are your writing strengths?
Smut, lol. Quirky, bantery dialogue. Making @hgejfmw-hgejhsf cry (complimentary, I think??).
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing multichapter WIPs. 😐 Outlining -- I'm very much a "do what the characters want to do" sort of writer.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I'm generally down if I have a reputable source for any translation! I speak English and German fluently, but when it comes to Alex's Spanish in my RWRB fic, for example, I rely heavily on online lexicons and people who actually speak the language natively.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Nope, not even thinking about other fandoms because I go where the dopamine goes, and I don't want to redirect the dopamine before I finish the fics on my Big Giant List.

I try to! I usually get to them all, even if I don't respond the same day. I really appreciate anyone who comments on my works, even old stuff for fandoms I don't write for anymore (see above fics and kudos lol) and want to say thanks.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
This is a hard question! I've always tried to be a happy ending writer, but I think some of my newer fics for HBO War stuff is probably more angsty because of the subject matter. I'm just now feeling confident in leaving a chapter or a fic itself ended on a angsty note.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Pretty much everything I write is fix-it fic, so usually they all have happy endings, but I'm partial to this fic for Marvel (Modern!Bucky x Reader) - Safe Place to Land on AO3 or Tumblr.
Do you write crossovers?
I've only done a few, but I have a WIP on hiatus that I started ages ago that's a Supernatural/BoB time travel fic featuring one of my OCs! It's here: Lost in Time
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yes and it still haunts me lol. I got the longest comment of my writing life (like, several paragraph essay) on one of my modern AUs for The 100 about how I should give up writing and it went into extreme detail with quotes and everything critiquing me. Honestly, it really threw me for a loop because it wasn't a constructive criticism, it was mean, and I stopped writing for a long time because of it.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
If I feel it has a place - I'm more likely to write a smut-adjacent, probably-still-rated-M heavy petting scene with lots of angst and tension. That's what I like to read if I read smut, too.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not an entire fic, but a writer in another fandom wrote something SO similar to one of my Marvel stories and there was a paragraph that was copy/pasted. I confronted them and they deleted it, and their blog shortly after. It sucked lol.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't! I'd love to try it one day but I'm also such a procrastinator I fear I'd mess up any working relationship, haha.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Based on what I've written, I still have a soft spot for Clarke and Bellamy from The 100, even though I won't ever write for that fandom again. Their dynamic was so great to write about. Back in my Fanfiction.net days I loved writing for Olivia and Lincoln from Fringe, too.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I have a Dean Winchester/OC fic where she's a national park ranger and gets roped into shenanigans that I love, but I don't see myself going back to it unfortunately.
What are your writing strengths?
I hope that I'm able to really set a scene and use dialogue and sense words to really put readers in the head of a particular character. I really want people to finish reading a piece and have a feeling.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Sometimes I think I use too much dialogue and I tell rather than show.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I would love it, but I don't speak another language confidently enough to use it the right way, and I just don't trust Google Translate to make it smooth enough, haha.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I think I wrote RPF for the band McFly when I was 13 but I don't think any of that still exists, thank god. My first published fic was something for AltLivia/AltLincoln (Fringe) on ff.net in 2011.
What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I'm in a Discord server for the Nancy Drew CW show and I'd love to write for Nancy/Ace, but I'd need to rewatch the show to do it confidently, I was just a casual watcher with friends when it was on TV.
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
My favorite thing is my current WIP Barren Soul (Band of Brothers). I've been working on it on and off since 2020 and I think it has some of my best writing. It's also fun to re-read because I can see how I've grown as a writer over the years.

I try to! I used to respond to every comment and then got overwhelmed and fell completely behind and THEN decided to clean house and answer all of the remaining ones...and the next day posted heart + bone and now have uh... 688 AO3 emails sitting in my inbox :') I periodically try to go in and answer at least a handful but honestly it's gotten very sporadic
5. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Off hesperus! I don't think I write a lot of true angst or tragedies tbh. But that one was meant to be 100% genuine, no happy endings angst. And admittedly it's not AS bad as it could have been but. it is probably as bad as I am likely to write (unfortunately (?), I left my "kill all your fave characters, make everyone suffer, burn it down!!!" writing vibes back in middle school mostly).
6. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
I have so much fluff how am I supposed to pick. ...most of my tgcf fics? heart + bone and sunlight, sunlight, sunlight are pretty absurdly fluffy by the end.
7. Do you write crossovers?
Not really. Back in the olden days (high school/college), I did more—see: whisper something holy, the OG loki fic... I think there were some others?—but it's pretty rare now.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
ehhh not really hate, just some folks who got lost and wound up mad in the comments that *checks notes* local complexity lover let characters be complex. I just turned off anonymous comments for a while and it was fine
9. Do you write smut?
Sometimes! I tend to write (& draw) smut when I'm stuck in a rut (pun sadly not intended), stressed, and struggling to make things which is. something to know about myself. but also means that it often serves as sort of an on ramp to making art that I care about more and so it's often left unfinished.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so? I have no idea how I'd know but honestly, I think my writing is enough directed toward my interests/wants that it's not a prime candidate for stealing lol
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes!! it's so cool!! and if she leads was translated into mandarin which!! is bonkers to me that's so much work
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I don't think I've ever actually done it. Isaac (@/lemeute) and I have co-developed a few ideas before but I think they went the way of the raccoon poll and sort of died in discord (though the yanqing AU did contribute to me drawing art!)
13. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Ah I really struggle with this. Really high up there, and probably chief in staying power, is Altair/Malik(/& Maria) and then in terms of ones that have sort of rewritten my brain chemistry it's like Stucky, Cartinelli, Cap2 Crew, Ranwan, Hualian, Destiel...uh I'm definitely missing some there but that's a sampler!
14. What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

I have many more wips but they're in more varying stages of either "I don't actually care that much if I finish these" (all unfinished MCU fics) or "I will actually finish this" (sixteen stitches).

uhhhhhhhhhh i hate this question bc my brain is immediately like "here is a laundry list of everything ur bad at and ALSO ur wrong. abt the things ur good at." bc well. mental wellness. ANYWAY i think I'm like ?? pretty good at creating intensity in writing??? I've talked about it before as viscerality and it is that but also like emotional intensity. and I do think I can craft a pretty turn of phrase here and there
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
well. plot, for one thing. having one? executing one? keeping it consistent without giant holes for everything to fall apart through? nahh. Similarly, continuity overall is! not a strength. Do you know how many notes there are in TCP asking myself to just sketch out a blueprint of the palace where 90% of the first book takes place. can u imagine

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I think it's something that needs to be done with intent and like. care. like, okay. actually I feel extremely subjective about this. Like on the one hand, I think there are times when I think using another language provides important connotative information that is lost when translating to English* (e.g., Wei Wuxian calling Lan Wangji er-gege or Jiang Yanli shijie which don't have very direct counterparts in English, but also if I were to write about my teacher calling me "chica" rather than "girl"). On the other hand, I think it's very important to be cautious (particularly as a white anglophone) about...like. Seasoning Ur Dialogue with Spicy Bits of Other Languages (I am struck by flashbacks of fanon Lance from VLD. bls.). ON THE THIRD HAND, depending on the POV of the work, writing dialogue in a different language can serve different functions in the text (e.g., if the reader knows what it means but the character doesn't, we can have some nice dramatic irony! when it's done well; if the character knows what it means but the reader doesn't, it can build suspense; if both know what it means, it can give insights into different character dynamics/backgrounds/etc.), but again, it should be done with care and intent.
uh i don't know that this actually answered the question or anything. i have feelings???? and minimally coherent thoughts?
*I am being so brave rn in trying not to go down a rabbithole about translation and meaning ;A;

oh gosh I feel like a broken record bc my fave fics have pretty much been the same for a long time but yeah, of swords and wings is still pretty much my fave largely because, even as it has aged (and I have become more critical of the actual writing), it was so finely tailored to my specific preferences, headcanons, and wants that it still remains quite loved

What are your writing weaknesses? oooh this one's interesting & to be honest, i'm pretty up my own ass at the moment, so nothing? lmaoooo. i'd like to improve on world-building. i can really rely on folks's understanding of the characters in canon to fill in the blanks when i slack on adding details.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in your fics? i don't mind when other's do it, but i don't think i will? unless the scenario called for it. but i would never want to get it wrong, so i'd have to consult with native speakers!

I definitely aim to! I've gotten worse at responding lately because I've been going through a lot lately but comments bring me so much joy and I love discussing my works with others so even if it's been a year I love to respond!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do angsty/unhappy endings but I did write this drabble that is very angsty. For one of my longer fics, I would say in silent screams and wildest dreams just because while technically it ends well, I didn't perfectly tie things up.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Like all of them lol, but maybe Cherry on Top just because that one is a fluff fest from start to finish.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I've never written one and currently don't have the inclination to do so, but I'm definitely open to it if the muse ever strikes!
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Like no outright hate, but some that have been filled with corrections on either grammar, spelling or that have told me my characterization was "incorrect" but like whatever.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Like Lina said on hers, whenever the mood strikes and the kind depends on the mood lol

Not that I know of (and I hope it stays that way)

Nope

I have not but I'm totally open to it!
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
The thing is, I have many long burning ships and the fire has never gone out on them. What If...? has really re-lit the Steggy flame, and the stuff I write is mostly all about them so they're always way up there, but I must give an honourable mention to The Doctor/Rose and also Percabeth is currently making a STRONG comeback at the moment.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Okay. So there's this Steggy fic. I started it years ago and I only have a few scenes written but it's definitely going to be a multi-chapter fic. The whole premise is that Steve is the only child of Queen Sarah, and Peggy is the prince's personal bodyguard. Problem is, Steve can't inherit the throne because it's a matriarchal line. When Queen Sarah has a health scare, she decides to take matters into her own hands and find her son a suitable wife and future queen so that her son can still maintain the throne in the event of her early passing. However, Peggy's not a fan of the options presented - for more than just the obvious reasons.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at characterization and getting their voices/dialogue pretty good!
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Honestly I have to work really hard on my plots to make sure they're tight because very often there are holes in them or they don't tie up/flow as smoothly as much as I'd like. It's why I usually prefer to write the whole thing at once and then post it, because that way I can catch things/find my way out of the corners I tend to write myself into.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I enjoy it! I use multiple languages in my life. Though the characters I normally write for don't really use multiple languages so it's something I would like to find a way to incorporate more, maybe in other fandoms/works eventually.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Unposted Star Wars (Han/Leia), posted the MCU (Steggy)
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I'm not burning for it at the moment (I'm struggling to get much writing done recently for my main fandom) but I do think at one point I'd like to write for Doctor Who, since I love reading for Nine/Rose & Ten (or Tentoo)/Rose it but there's some things I haven't found that I would like to write.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I do like all of my fics a lot, but I would say my top three in no particular order are:
Get In, Get Out (I'm very proud of my writing in this one)
The Untamed (I left a lot open as to what happens leading up to the very last scene of the fic and I want to keep exploring it sometime)

actual worst part of writing: Fucking writers block. Like, you have all these ideas but you just can't...fucking write anything. Like, it physically pains me when I have ideas but I can't execute them (thankfully it doesn't last very long but for however long it lasts, it hurts me)
how you choose your titles: Most times, my titles come from either a line or a phrase from my fics...sometimes I'm lucky and I can ask my mutuals/friends for title ideas. Or if I'm basing a fic off of a manga, anime, tv show, whatever, I'll just use the name of whatever I'm taking my idea from
do you outline?: I didn't use to but now I do and I find it quite helpful actually. But y outline basically consists of me writing my entire fic in bullet points (dialogue and everything) and then taking the bullet points and turning it into a fic
ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: I have a whole folder full of abandoned prompts...there are so many
callouts @ me: Stop having so many fucking ideas...you'll never write them all in the timeline that you want. Also, focus on the wips that you have before starting a new one
best writing traits: Keeping characters in character? Like, knowing the characters inside and out and no matter what the au, the characters still sound and act like the characters. Also dialogue and mafia/detective aus. I'm very good at those
spicy tangential opinion: All the writing advice you see on tumblr...take with a fucking grain of salt. Just write what feels comfortable to you and don't write for anyone else. Just write what makes you happy

Yep, always. There's nothing fic writers enjoy more than comments, so there's no way I wouldn't respond and let readers know how meaningful their words are to me.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
There's an implied happy ending for Ian and Mickey with everything I post, but I love angst and conclusions that still leave lingering questions. A Million Ways to Die probably does that the most of anything I've written.

I think You Two Close? is the happiest because it's the conclusion of a three-story arc that resolves most of the doubts and unanswered questions raised in the earlier stories.

Nope. I think it could be a very interesting writing exercise for the future, but I'm not there yet.

Maybe not full-on hate, but definitely voices from some dissatisfied customers. 😂

I do but I don't consider myself proficient at it. I think truly great smut is an art form. So I try not to overstep my abilities.

Not to my knowledge.

Nope.

Gallavich. My one and only. 😍

I'm currently writing a Reality TV AU. I've been toying with the idea for a while and plugging away at it slowly. My hope is to finish and then begin posting.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I'll usually write, reread and edit on a loop endlessly until the words start to sound seamless to me. It's part of the reason it takes forever for me to post anything. 😂
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I experience writer's block a lot. I lose focus easily. 😖 I'm also very hard on myself in general.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
There's a little Spanish in my fics due to Mickey's time in Mexico. My husband is fluent, so I've run stuff by him for approval. 😂
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Shameless.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
For now, it's just Shameless for me. We'll see what the future brings.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
This is a hard one. I love them all, but I really enjoy writing Mickey on his own and struggling. There's sadness and angst there but also a recklessness that I find intriguing. Like what's he capable of when he's completely unmoored?
So, I guess it would be Before The Bullshit and a one-shot I recently completed called Try Not to Panic set in that same world.

I usually do! If someone leaves me a comment on every chapter I’ll answer the more in depth ones over the one emoji ones but yes, I love getting comments so I will usually always reply!

I don’t think I have any tbh. I like angst but only when there’s resolution and a happy ending so I don’t think I have any with an angsty ending.

I have written crossovers!
Craziest one would have to be the Big Brother/Schitts Creek one that me and @mariss-ugh did! We worked soooooo hard on that one and it took months to complete but it was so worth it, I had a blast working on it with my bestie.

I’ve gotten criticism on my fics likes typos and stuff like that even though I was a new writer… or unasked for “constructive criticism”
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Love writing smut
What kind? Hmm… oral, penetration, hand stuff, edging, light bdsm, stuff like that. Depends on who I’m writing for!

Yup! I’ve had a few of my Gallavich ones be translated

I have so many right now but my all-time has to be Ian/Mickey from Shameless US

I only have one WIP right now but I’m determined that me and Marissa will finish it! Lol

Fave for David/Patrick (Schitts Creek) apart from the Big Brother one would probably be Lessons in Love
And fave I’ve written for Buddie (9-1-1) so far would be Good Christian Boy

Thanks for the tag @tessiete (and for remembering that I once used to write fic hahaha - hopefully will again tho!)
Name/nickname: Adalia
Fandoms: Star Wars is my one & only, baby! (I’ve considered stepping outside of it, but no other fandom obsession has ever been as strong or pervasive)
Two shots? Love me a 2-shot! I’ve got a couple of them: The Bacta Tank - the first part is a baby Anakin story & the second part is Vader reflecting on it - and Analyzing Anakin in which Anakin sees a therapist and then returns to see her as Vader (hmm guess that’s a theme for me)
Most-popular multi-chapter fic: That would be my Comfortember from last year, which is a series of one-shots about Anakin’s first year at the Temple - basically lots of very soft & fluffy Obi & Ani interactions, with some angst & foreshadowing thrown in cuz... Star Wars.
Actual worst part of writing: Staring at a blank page. Once I have some words, it’s a little easier, but opening that doc to start ugh
How you choose your titles: No methodology really - sometimes it’s just a simple descriptor - I do enjoy alliteration though and have quite a few alliterative titles
Do you outline? Nope. I mostly write one-shots so it’s not really neccessary.
Ideas you probably won't get around to, but wouldn't it be nice: Hmm i have a modern AU Obi-Wan & Anakin that I do still think about sometimes so it’s possible... but don’t hold your breath
Callouts @ me: Any excuse for a Jedi hug - I’ve written entire fics just to get to a particular hug
Best writing traits: Dialogue - it’s what comes easiest to me - having to write what people are actually doing while they talk is hard
Spicy tangential opinion: Fics are fantasy & there are no bad fantasies. Let people write what they want to write. Tags exist for a reason so if something bothers you, don’t read it - it’s as simple as that.
