this is a 5+1 bucktommy being interrupted lol (aka an excuse to write buck and tommy kissing......a lot)

“Gonna have to walk around in a turtleneck tomorrow if you don’t stop,” Buck breathes out. He feels like he’s just run a marathon. His heart is beating so fast he’s surprised he can’t hear the marimba of it rattling against the bones of his rib cage. It’s a little childlike, almost, this excitement he feels. He hasn’t been this giddy over a kiss since he was in high school, probably, and it’s really, really nice to feel it again. 

Romance and sex and relationships were starting to feel stagnant. A still lake with algae slimy through his toes when he took a step into the water. They were never bad but there was always something missing. He was always missing a part of himself.

This feels somewhere between a river and an ocean rip current. 

“You want me to stop, then?” Tommy says pulling back, a bright glint to his eyes and a teasing curve to his mouth like he knows Buck’s not gonna pull away anytime soon. 

Instead of answering, he takes the back of Tommy’s head in his hand and pulls him in, open mouthed and just. Needy.

“For all its worth, you’d look good in skirts,” Charles says, tipping his glass forward, a cheap toast delivered with a smirk and a wink.  George rolls his eyes. “Oh thank you Charles, please buy me one for my birthday.” A pause, their eyes meeting, the corner of Charles’ lip twitches involuntarily and George raises an accusatory finger, eyebrows tightly knit. “Don’t you dare.” Charles nods. “I’ll mail it to your dad’s address.” “Fuck off!”

AUDI 2026 (censored name because it is a plot point)

Sebastian pushes the thought aside in favour of focusing on how his ergonomically small hands may benefit his teammate's smaller anatomy, his fingers are sort of like a puppy’s paw. [Teammate] laughs at the comparison and tells him about the four dogs the loving mother left back home keeps. They drive twenty five laps each. When he’s out of the car, his engineer tells him he’s unusually slow around turn 13. Sebastian says he’s just a bit rusty, cracks his wrist as if to prove a point and his engineer cracks a smile in return. [Teammate] cruises across the circuit to scratch on the tarmac a lap time of 1:11,34. It’s just shy of the track record. His track record. It’s just all a bit ironic.

girl landoscar (very descriptive wip title)

She’s carrying a weariness Lando normally doesn’t see in her face. Sure, Oscar is less expressive than the average girl playing hockey, she’s famous for her stoic face in the middle of games, how seemingly imperturbable she is, but Lando knows her enough to see the unusual, this tiresome exhaustion dragging her down.  Oh, she’s going to tear to shreds that fucker that left her.

What fandoms do you write for? primarily men's hockey rpf and queer as folk, but I've also written for teen wolf, 911, and cmbyn.

Do you respond to comments? always! but I don't get many, comparatively, and i produce like two one-shots a year, so it's not hard 😂

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? probably Confrontation (britin, qaf). It's a short, dialogue-only fic of an argument, and there's no resolution.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? oof I don't know, I tend to write happy endings, so there's a lot of choose from. I have a couple tknp fics that are about them getting together, which always makes for a happy ending, but I'll go with Wildflour (tknp, men's hockey rpf) because it ends mid-hookup, and that's always fun.

Do you get hate on fics? not yet 🙏

Do you write smut? yes! it's not my strong suit and it always takes me forfuckingever to write, but it's in there.

Craziest crossover: I haven't done any. Although a friend and I have (briefly) discussed the possibility of a tknp/firefly crossover, which I think would be amazing if I could wrap my head around the scope of it.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? not that i know of.

Have you ever had a fic translated? nope, but that would be so cool.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? nope. writing is a very *very* casual hobby for me, and I know that it would stress me out to feel like I constantly had to keep with a deadline and/or that i was letting my co-author down.

All time favorite ship? christ, sophie's choice much? Even though it's not the fandom I'm currently writing and reading the most right now, I've got to say britin from qaf. They're so formative for me, and I always come back to them. They're like, the foundational sunshine/grump ship in my world. With tknp a close close second. Currently I'm mostly reading firstprince.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i'm not really a wip person, I only have the brainpower to have one fic in my head at a time, so i tend to write, finish, post before i start something else (no matter how long it takes goddammit). but I do have some slightly more fleshed out qaf ideas that I may or may not come back to... but since most of them are pretty similar (something bad happens to justin, brian helps him out), I definitely won't write them all. I also have some ideas for fandoms i'll probably never write for again, but then again, never say never.

What are your writing strengths? dialogue. I like writing it probably more than any other part of my fics, and I feel like I'm good at it. Humor, which surprised me when I started writing because I started in the qaf fandom and almost all of my fics there skewed angsty, but I love adding humor in when the situation calls for it and I feel like I can be funny? I hope? 😂

What are your writing weaknesses? oh smut for sure. it takes me FOREVER to write it because I just... I don't know, get bored? I think I just find writing action sequences difficult generally, and what is smut if not action. Also world-building, which is why I tend to stick to very canon or canon-adjacent writing.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? sure, if it fits the character and situation. I haven't had reason to do it, but I could throw some basic Spanish in or like, single words in other languages, but I'd hate not getting it right so that would hold me back. I do find it annoying as a reader when there's a lot of foreign language dialogue in an english language fic and there's no translation.

First fandom you wrote in? first ever was technically buffy back when I was 14, but that was me writing it with the intent to change the names and pass it off as original fiction for my freshman english class. And I got an A! The first straight-up fic I wrote was for one tree hill. First fandom i was *involved* in and wrote for was qaf.

Favorite fic you've written? oh god why. I can narrow it down to two IF I MUST. First, Catalepsis (britin, qaf), it's my only true multi-chapter fic and at 82k it's my longest fic by like 70k. It took me literal years to finish, I'm super proud of it, and even though it's long I've had multiple comments about people rereading, which is always amazing. And The Great Poxing of 2013 (sterek, teen wolf). I just love it, it's funny and sweet and flirty and the only teen wolf fic I've written. It wasn't planned, I had a flash of inspiration and banged it out in two nights in front of the tv.

I always said I could never write more than one fic at once and how do people do it?? And now here I am, five actual WIP and at least five more summaries of ideas for fics in varying levels of detail. So, here we go. The WIPs.

They have a lot of history, Charles knows, he's been there for all of it.

Growing up together, bound together by mutual hatred that grew slowly to grudging respect as they realised that they only had one other true equal. Their first years in Formula 1, Max was hardly a rookie, but he seemed determined to shout to anyone who would listen that Charles Leclerc was predestined, someone to watch for in your mirrors, even when he was barely in the points.

He had been the first person aside from family Charles had called when he signed with Ferrari. Pierre had raised his eyebrows incredulous when Charles told him about why the entire surface of his kitchen counter was covered in bouquets of red, red tulips.

Then last year, snarling at each other's wheels and throats as they battled, fought, bled for a world championship. Max had snatched that from him, then. Charles still remembers how Max stood over him on the podium in Abu Dhabi, triumphant, leaving Charles below him to shake in the drying sweat of war.

They haven't talked really since that podium at Abu Dhabi, and Charles supposes that what they're doing now is hardly talking, as he arches up to meet Max's mouth.

A guilty pleasure of mine is absolutely Major Character Death and secret dating in terms of tropes. But oooh boy if you mix those two together with my fave pairing(s) I WILL want to marry you /j

In all seriousness though, I actually have a guilty pleasure in basing all my projects on music. Nothing is written without a specific song or playlist being played on loop! One of my WIPs called 'Soldier Poet King' is not only based on that song by the Oh Hellos and another song called Thus Always To Tyrants. But it's also inspired by the song Curses by The Crane Wives, Like Real People Do by Hozier, Téir Abhaile Riu by Celtic Woman, rises the moon by Liana Flores, and many others! I honestly plotted the fic and potentially a sequel to follow all by music! (Just need to write it though-)

This post will tell ya all the things I've enjoyed writing! (Spoiler Alert: it's basically everything)

Now shaking burn out is tricky because I literally could not write to save my life ever since last Oct/Nov and I'm only now slowly returning to it but unfortunately with less vigour. The best ways to fix that is to just not force anything and take a break. During my burn out I was moving countries so of course I was going to be affected in one way or another and all I can do about it now is forgive myself and move on!

As for writers block, I tend to use music (who would've guessed? /s) and re-familiarize myself with the og content like rewatching episodes, reading manga, etc. etc.. Another thing too that helps with that is just add a few words at a time. Let it be anything, just write. Writing can be plotting the fic, just create dialouge, describe the scenery, anything! There's no "wrong way" to writing your fics, just check for grammar once you're done and you'll be set!

Day 2 - Read a fic in a new fandom

Choosing which fandom was actually the easiest part considering the uncanny amount of crossover between the SC - 911:LS - RWRB fandoms on this site (at least amongst the users I follow). For this prompt I’ve chosen Schitt’s Creek. I absolutely love this show but have never ventured into reading fic for it so now seems like a good time to take a small dive in ☺️ Since I’ve read the Tarlos and Firstprince editions of this series I already knew this one was going to be sweet, funny and hot 🔥 And oh what a delightful treat this was for my Sunday afternoon, I had SO much fun with this. I would highly recommend a read of all 3. Rae you are an absolute gem!

Look, here’s the thing, I always mean to reply, but I also end up forgetting. I will stare at comments and reread them over and over, but far too many times, I forget to actually reply.

I don’t do that. Happy ending or it’s not over yet.

No, I don’t. Though I did have the idea to make my 100th fic a crossover of all the fandoms I’ve written for. But I couldn’t make it work.

Once, with @everwitch-magiks and it was a truly wonderful time! I was really nervous about writing with someone else and it was an awesome experience!

Do I have one? No, couldn’t possibly choose. But also, I have 45 firstprince fics which is more than double any other ship I’ve ever written for. So maybe I do…

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Uh, probably the TK is at work during the townhouse fire fic.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Hmm. I think emotions and dialogue. I agonize over it and put a lot of thought into both aspects. A fic isn’t really going to land if the feeling isn’t there, so I work really hard on that and I do think I usually manage it.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Well, Lola already called me out on this for sure. Overwriting. It’s nearly crippling. The times I manage to keep a fic under 5k, I’m like so proud of myself.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I really only do if it’s a word or a nickname or a phrase already used in canon. I am not bilingual, so I do not want to butcher anything.

I feel like this is VERY representative of my stories 😂😂 fluff all the way!! And friends to lovers and au is really what I'm all about too!!! (Sprinkled with sexual content ofc)

I'm kinda surprised that I have 5 stories with established relationships because I feel like the majority of my ideas have to do with meeting and then falling in love OR realizing feelings after years of friendship. Those are definitely the stories I'm mostly drawn to write. But it makes sense that my three established relationship milex fics are the kinda sad ones 😂

Uh, first thing that pops into my head is definitely the bath scene! The way the scene is set, the ambiance, the way I can almost smell the bath products, see the flicker of the candles, feel the soft humidity on my face, the healing waves, the soft comforting darkness, it just exudes the exact vibe I was going for. I love incorporating all of the senses when I write and this felt so alive to me, I could feel it, smell it, see it all so clearly.

Also I really liked leaving in the details about Miles' clothes. In my head he was so clearly wearing the dark blue jumpsuit and those heeled boots and I enjoyed how I managed to show it in the story by having Alex help him out of it 😇😘

I think maybe my most out of my comfort zone is "you just ain't the one for me" mostly because it's told from Taylors pov and it generally features her, the sex scenes, having someone else witness Alex and Miles and not being inside either of their heads. It's just very different but I feel like it made sense for what I was trying to do. Even if I'm fairly unfamiliar with her as a person, I feel like the character I came up with for her made sense.

I feel like it made me braver in terms of what I can get away with. And to know that a lot of things can be shown instead of said or told explicitly. A lot can be left up for interpretation. Even if some people would've liked to know what happened next, I liked leaving it up to the readers. (I feel like it was fairly obvious tho😂) I also just like that it was something so different and people still liked it, so I know not to box myself in. I can be free and experiment with my stories and tell them in the way I feel makes sense, and still have people enjoy them ❤️

Oh, that's too many to count! I'm constantly in awe of the pure skill and talent of the writers in this fandom, and I'd love to pick up something from all of them. I love how @yellowloid is so good at the deeply intense romantic stuff, just diving so deep and making us feel it too. I love the absolutely insane level of detail and expertise of @elorianna s writing and the way she incorporates real life elements, I love the world building and the cutting edge characters of @thranduil-aran-edhil. I love the humour and ingenuity in plot and character in @girlinthepictureframe s stories, I love the way @stereobone sets the vibe and mood of the fic and how they say so much with so few words (something I'll never learn 😂😂), I love the absolute heart wrenching gutpunch @blacktrickle is able to write, I love seeing you use your real life profession as inspiration for the very best sickfics.. and so many many many more!!!

I love how people characterise our boys, I love how they come up with so many amazingly interesting settings, the level of detail in their aus and canon compliant stories, I love the fluff and the heartbreak.. and most of all I love how different they all are. And how I'm different from all of them too. And there's room for all of us, and so many more that I've forgotten to mention, and how we all learn and evolve as time goes on. My heart is full.

It's not a new one, but it's SO GOOD. The last fic I read was "Hotel Room" by weirdchick333 and it's just amazing. Their works are some of the very best I've ever read and I always find myself going back to read it when I've got a bit of time to myself. WIP Word Search

I have a stupid amount of WIPs right now and had a not a single option for the first word that came up (temptation... wtf), but a ton of them for the second word (close). So, here's something from a WIP I have not touched in months. 'Cause why not.

Henry holds him at arms length and God when he’s finally able to focus, he has to immediately close his eyes and just breathe because Alex looks absolutely wrecked.

I try and respond to everyone even if it's just to say thanks you. I love talking about my fic ideas but I also get nervous when responding because I don't want to sound weird or annoying.

My story ....In the Aftermath.

I lost my love for it and I doubt I ever will get it back. And I have no clue where to even start again with it

Emotions

I feel like I am amazing at showing how a character is feeling or how they see other people. And maybe scenery. I can paint a picture so well

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialouge

I always feel like I can't get the characters right. Like would Marinette actually say that? And then I over think it.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I would love to. But I unfortunately only know english

"Will I ever see you again?"

Max turns, Charles is huddled on their-his couch. The room has lost all the light of the evening, harsh city lights are the only thing that play over their faces now.

"No," Max says. It's not venomous, that was all burnt out of him hours ago by their righteous fire. It's just him, standing in the door of their house of ashes, and he sees no reason to sugarcoat it.

"Oh," Charles says, it sounds like it gets caught in his throat and Max's treacherous throat swells up in empathy, full of words begging to be let out.

Max turns to walk out, then hesitates. They've known each other almost their entire lives, it warrants a farewell at least.

"Goodbye Charles."

As the door swings closed between them, it sounds an awful lot like I love you.
