What shows do y’all have lined up for this year?

I’ve already seen BMTH and Røry and will be going to Slam Dunk in May (Palaye, Waterparks, FFAF, LS Dunes) then there’s IDKHOW in June and Sleep Token in Nov.

On my wish list is Loveless who will be at Leeds in Aug, so if I can swing that then I can die happy.

Do you ever have difficulty coming up with ideas or executing them in writing, and if so, how do you deal with that?

Honestly, ideas tend to be the easy part. Song lyrics, random thoughts, chatting with friends, sometimes something my gf says. Someone talking about an underused trope.

The hardest part is usually starting the fic. The first scene is so important, so I think about it being an episode, and how would you open it? Ok this is a fic where they crash land on a planet. So let’s open with the crash, like the intro might be on an episode. Can add the why they crash afterwards, they’ll have plenty of time to talk. The reader might want to keep reading to find out why too, which means I’ve made it interesting enough to catch their attention.

Sometimes a scene doesn’t quite work, though, so I read it out and explain it to something. My rubber duck is a Garak figurine now lol. He’s a very good listener, and very patient, just like a rubber duck. Talking it out helps a great deal, and if I still struggle I might do a bare bones scene and tweak it later. Ask a friend to look it over and chat about it.

Highly recommend the rubber duck method though. Since I started doing it, my writing quality has improved.

i remember warrington was like. it was On a. Friday there was a festival happening there that weekend so the grounds were open all day (i think) and there were sooooo many beefy guys who were there for frank turner and they spent the whole day getting drunk then just as his set began they all surged forward in front of the rest of us who had gotten there early and were patiently waiting for mcr and they were causing so many problems lmao i just hate that brand of men LOL
