Lifestyle feminism ushered in the notion that there could be as many versions of feminism as there were women. Suddenly the politics was being slowly removed from feminism. And the assumption prevailed that no matter what a woman's politics, be she conservative or liberal, she too could fit feminism into her existing lifestyle. Obviously this way of thinking has made feminism more acceptable because its underlying assumption is that women can be feminists without fundamentally challenging and changing themselves or the culture.

I wanna thank @tumblingxelian, @markzschiegnerii and @marylizabetha for their videos explaining why RWBY is a fun and enjoyable show that is worth watching, or at least giving a chance.
This video is a compilation of their youtube videos which you should give a watch and subscribe. As to why I'm doing this? Because All we're saying is....GIVE RWBY A CHANCE.

fine since apparently i was "rude" last time why do you include men in ur feminism
I already answered this on the main post, so I will copy-paste my reply here:
Because they're half of the population of Earth, and they're also harmed by the patriarchy.
I'm going to speak about American patriarchy here, because that is my primary perspective.
American Patriarchy promotes racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, xenophobia and all other forms of bigotry; these are all issues that harm men as well as women.
American patriarchy is a hierarchical system designed to keep a very specific type of man in control of society. In America, this man is white, able bodied and able minded, wealthy, Christian, cisgender and heterosexual. He is physically fit; muscular and not fat nor skinny. He is socially in control and aggressive. He is sexually promiscuous and boasts about his "conquests".
Think about the whitest, most "alpha male bro" you can picture, and that is what American patriarchy wants a man to be.
Most men do not fit that picture.
Most men suffer under the patriarchy for failing to match up to what it demands of them; boys who do not match up are abused by their mothers and fathers and peers and teachers into compliance, and are taught to do the same to their peers as they grow up, on the small chance that if they are cruel enough and contort themselves enough, they can earn the favor of privilege over others. It is incredibly harmful.
To circle back around to issues like racism, white American patriarchy is incredibly damaging to black men. Black men absolutely have every right and every reason to be involved in feminism and the fight to take down the patriarchy.
And so do disabled men. And gay men. And trans men. And every other kind of man on the planet. Because even the man who perfectly fits the "idea image" of the patriarchy is severely damaged by it through the act of conforming to its expectations. The expectations of the patriarchy on men are inherently and intentionally abusive, damaging, and demoralizing, intended to keep men under control to maintain the pyramid shaped hierarchy people like Jordan Peterson love so much.
If feminism's goal is to take down the patriarchy, why on earth would you tell 50% of your potential allies who are damaged by the system to sit on the sidelines and not participate in the fight?
It just makes no sense to me.
Oh yes and let me add some feminist literature onto this version of the post:

Quote
Boys need healthy self-esteem. They need love. And a wise and loving feminist politics can provide the only foundation to save the lives of male children. Patriarchy will not heal them. If that were so they would all be well.

After last summer's Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization allowed states to ban abortion, urologists across the United States saw a dramatic surge in the demand for vasectomies.
Normally, vasectomy procedures peak towards the end of the year, but the mid-year Court decision led to an unexpected increase in demand in 46 states.
The greatest increases in patients undergoing this elective procedure were in states that implemented "trigger bans" severely limiting abortion access. These states experienced an average increase of 41% in vasectomy rates between July and September, compared to 26% in other states. States such as Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah saw rates rise by more than 40%.
The post-Dobbs patients opting for vasectomies tended to be younger than the typical candidates. Data from Komodo revealed a small but consistent drop in the average age of patients undergoing vasectomies in the latter half of 2022.
Motivations behind this trend varied among patients. Some men expressed concerns about the lack of a reliable backup if their primary contraception method failed in the absence of abortion access, as vasectomy has a success rate of over 99%. Others were motivated by the fear that vasectomy itself could be outlawed next. Among this younger demographic of patients seeking to take control of their reproductive responsibilities were men who saw their decision as an act of solidarity with women.
Due to longstanding patriarchal constructs, vasectomy is viewed as a sacrifice for many men, involving recovery time and potential risks, along with misconceptions and concerns about its impact on masculinity. In reality, recovery time for this simple 30-minute outpatient procedure is 2-3 days, and there is no clinical evidence to support the notion that a vasectomy leads to a decreased sense of masculinity. The procedure does not have any direct physiological or hormonal effects on masculinity, sexual function, or masculinity-related characteristics.
In fact, by opting for vasectomy, men share the responsibility of contraception and alleviate the burden on women. By doing so, these men further embody the traditionally masculine traits of responsibility, self-reliance, decisiveness, and courage through taking an active role in family planning.
While the overturning of Roe v Wade has decimated women's rights in America, the increase in vasectomies following the ruling may be seen as a small consolation, a small step toward the long aggrieved concept of gender equity. As more men take proactive measures to dismantle the patriarchal idea that both conception and contraception are solely "women's issues," they act as leaders showing others the intrinsic value in the dignity and selflessness of their decision.
While our nation's leaders continue to restrict the rights afforded to pregnancy carriers, we are fortunate to have a younger generation of the impregnator class recognizing the devastating, often deadly effects of these laws and mastering the art of doing something about it.

Girls today are often just as self-hating when it comes to their bodies as their pre-feminist counterparts were. While feminist movement produced many types of pro-female magazines, no feminist-oriented fashion magazine appeared to offer all females alternatives visions of beauty. To critique sexist images without offering alternatives is an incomplete intervention. Critique in and of itself does not lead to change.

TRUE feminism keeps men in mind instead of doing to men what women feel men have done to women. We want to bring down the overall patriarchy, not individual men themselves. Otherwise, we may as well just eliminate them from the planet, right?
Stop letting radicalism cloud your judgement of what you think about feminism. Don’t let those with an outrageous voice sway you to believe feminism doesn’t or shouldn’t include men. It doesn’t include them in the same way as it does women, but it should keep them in mind positively. I mean, I have family and friends who are men and I don’t wish to always think negatively toward them. I wish to be constructive to help them get in touch with their feminine sides and to redirect and reprogram what they’ve learned in regards to women.
Feminism includes eliminating toxic masculinity for men too! It’s about finding a way to help society help men to not have to deal with these toxic ideas of what it means to be a man. Toxic masculinity imposed upon them by their parents and others causes them to have beliefs that are harmful to others and themselves and causes them to form harmful habits. Therefore, it is extremely helpful for women as well that men don’t have to suffer this toxicity and spread it to others, especially to women!!
We, not JUST women, but we ALL, must find a way to help men to not feel so pressured by society and to stop toxic masculine behaviors they’ve been taught. We want men to be better so they can be better to women and so that women can be better to men.
Men aren’t being oppressed, but that doesn’t mean that, over so many years, it hasn’t put them in a situation where they act based on how they’ve been raised and told to act, which puts a lot of pressure on them.
I’m not saying they SHOULDN’T be held RESPONSIBLE for their oppressive behavior, but I’m saying that there needs to be a CHANGE somehow. I’m not sure how.
True feminism doesn’t oppress or control anyone. It doesn’t vilify. It liberates!
Do not let radicals cloud your judgment. Do not hate. Understand and teach.
AND feminism is for transwomen too!
Feminism is for everyone!

A true feminist is not someone who treats men like garbage because they’re afraid of getting attacked.
A true feminist is not someone who opposes trans rights for a mentally unhinged reason.
A true feminist is not someone who’s gullible enough to fall for obvious lies spewed by reactionary journalists.
A true feminist is not someone who harasses people/web users who disagree with their bullcrap politics.
A true feminist is not someone who believes in gender stereotypes.
A true feminist is not someone who dreams of male ge**cide.
A true feminist is someone who knows men and women are equals.
A true feminist is someone who helps women who are being objectively oppressed.
A true feminist is someone who aims to end all prejudice.
A true feminist is someone who aims to empower women without spreading hatred.
A true feminist is someone who knows the patriarchy affects men, too.
A true feminist is someone who knows trans women are women and trans men are men.

Given the reality of racism, it made sense that white men were more willing to consider women's rights when the granting of those rights could serve the interests of maintaining white supremacy [...] Reformist feminist thinking focusing primarily on equality with men in the workforce overshadowed the original radical foundations of contemporary feminism which called for reform as well as overall restructuring of society so that our nation would be fundamentally anti-sexist. Most women, especially privileged white women, ceased even to consider revolutionary feminist visions, once they began to gain economic power within the existing social structure.

still going on about "don't buy hogwarts legacy" bro it sold over 12 milion copies, move on.
That's the problem.
12 million copies of an anti-semitic video game written and produced by transphobes and anti-semites.
12 million copies of a video game whose royalties funded transphobes and anti-semites.
"But its 12 million, it must be popular!"
there's hundreds of millions of misogynists in the world. Does the popularity of misogyny, mean that misogyny is right?
There's hundreds of millions of homophobes in the world. Does the popularity of homophobia mean that homophobia is right?
And how many millions of transphobes in the world. Does that make transphobia justified?
Just because a belief is popular, does not make it right.
That's the problem. The problem that people who pay lip service to LGBTQ rights will still purchase hogwarts legacy or eat at Chick-Fil-A.
Until bigotry and products produced by bigotry are no longer considered commonplace, I will keep fighting for LGBTQ rights and equality.

"We're NOT bioessentialists we swear guys!"
I should be keeping a tally for the "Is the blog blocked" game. I think I'm up to 5 points.
Yes, I already have the blog blocked.
So, actually, this person isn't being inherently bioessentialist. She's one step above most radfems in that she is committing to the idea that it is in fact nurture, not nature, than can turn cis men into violent monsters.
However.
I do take issue with the idea that "male socialization" is always bad and is equivalent to "toxic masculinity", which is how she is using the phrase in her post.
She is stating that all cultures around the world are misogynistic as a baseline, and that all of them teach a version of manhood to male children that is toxic and turns them ALL into abusers. She is also stating that it is impossible for an adult man to escape that cycle of abuse. I partly agree with her: yes, all modern societies are baseline misogynistic, and they do teach their children (both amab and afab) to be misogynistic. I do not, however, believe it is inescapable - it CAN be unlearned.
She's also implying that this upbringing affects all AMAB people equally and identically, completely erasing the experiences of boys of color, gay boys, overweight boys, trans kids who were AMAB, and intersex kids who were AMAB, neurodivergent boys, disabled boys, etc.
So, no. She's not actually being a bioessentialist. She IS still coming to the end conclusion that All Men Are Bad, but there's hope for her and radfems like her who believe in the nurture model instead of the "all amabs bad from birth" group.
I have hope for them too, for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it's because I also believe that socialization is what causes people to become misogynists, and I acknowledge that there are definitely differences between how a culture treats its AFAB children vs its AMAB children.
But the good thing is, if male "badness" is caused by socialization, that is a thing we can fix.
Feminism as a framework can show adult cis men how society has harmed them and programmed them to be awful, and they can use feminism to unlearn that shit, and then they can then help other men unlearn this shit. Then they can help tear down the patriarchy.
Feminism as a framework can be used to raise boys, right now today, who are resilient against the abuses of the patriarchy, who are able to identify the ways toxic masculinity is woven into everyday life, and learn to be caring, compassionate boys and men who will further contribute to feminism and tearing down the patriarchy.
We can do this.
Feminism is absolutely critical for men who want to unlearn the harm the patriarchy did to them, and it is absolutely critical for parents and communities who want to raise boys who won't have to unlearn the harms of the patriarchy.
