"Tuesday’s [April 9, 2024] definition-shifting court ruling means nearly 50 governments must now contend with a new era of climate litigation.
Governments be warned: You must protect your citizens from climate change — it’s their human right.
The prescient message was laced throughout a dense ruling Tuesday from Europe’s top human rights court. The court’s conclusion? Humans have a right to safety from climate catastrophes that is rooted in their right to life, privacy and family.
The definition-shifting decision from the European Court of Human Rights means nearly 50 governments representing almost 700 million people will now have to contend with a new era of litigation from climate-stricken communities alleging inaction.
While the judgment itself doesn’t include any penalties — the case featured several women accusing Switzerland of failing to shield them from climate dangers — it does establish a potent precedent that people can use to sue governments in national courts.
The verdict will serve “as a blueprint for how to successfully sue your own government over climate failures,” said Ruth Delbaere, a legal specialist at Avaaz, a U.S.-based nonprofit that promotes climate activism...
Courting the courts on climate
The European Court of Human Rights was established in the decade following World War II but has grown in importance over the last generation. As the judicial arm of the Council of Europe, an international human rights organization, the court’s rulings are binding on the council’s 46 members, spanning all of Europe and numerous countries on its borders.
As a result, Tuesday’s [April 9, 2024] ruling will help elevate climate litigation from a country-by-country battle to one that stretches across continents.
Previously, climate activists had mostly found success in suing individual countries to force climate action.
A 2019 Dutch Supreme Court verdict forced the Netherlands to slash its greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent, while in 2021 a French court ruled the government was responsible for environmental damage after it failed to meet greenhouse gas reduction goals. That same year, Germany’s Constitutional Court issued a sweeping judgment that the country’s 2019 climate law was partly “unconstitutional” because it put too much of the emissions-cutting burden on future generations.
Even in the U.S., young environmental activists won a local case last year against state agencies after arguing that the continued use of fossil fuels violated their right to a "clean and healthful environment."
But 2024 is shaping up to be a turning point for climate litigation, redefining who has a right to sue over climate issues, what arguments they can use, and whom they can target.
To start, experts overwhelmingly expect that Tuesday’s ruling will reverberate across future lawsuits — both in Europe and globally. The judgment even includes specifics about what steps governments must take to comply with their new climate-related human rights obligations. The list includes things like a concrete deadline to reach climate neutrality, a pathway to getting there, and evidence the country is actually on that path...
Concretely, the verdict could also affect the outcomes of six other high-profile climate lawsuits pending before the human rights court, including a Greenpeace-backed suit questioning whether Norway's decision to grant new oil and gas licenses complies with its carbon-cutting strategy.
An emerging legal strategy
In the coming months, other international bodies are also expected to issue their own rulings on the same thorny legal issues, which could further solidify the evolving trend.
The International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights all have similar cases working through the system.
"All these cases together will clarify the legal obligations of states to protect rights in the context of climate change — and will set the stage for decades to come," said Chowdhury, from the environmental law center."

Dick grayson x male reader (preferably YJ verse)
Reader is Clark's bio son and their both hopelessly in love but reader is scared of dicks dating history and how close he's with all his exes and he doesn't want to get burned in the process
Dick Grayson x kryptonian male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
Featuring some of my kryptonian headcanons.
You and Dick would be close even before the young justice team was made, since Bruce and Clark worked side by side so much as you were growing up. That results in you two knowing each other pretty well.
You would both be crushing on one another, but neither of you would confess or think the other feels the same way. Dick would the one to go off and date other people whilst you just stayed single and nursed what you thought was your one-sided crush.
Clark would have realized very early on how you were feeling for Dick, and he would tease you good naturedly about how you keep purring when your around him, saying its good he cant hear those frequencies or dick would have known immediately too.
You bring kryptonian makes you one of the team’s power houses, since you pack a major punch and other very strong powers. This results in you also looking out for a lot of the other team members just in case.
You’ve taken many hits for Dick over the years, since you on instinct keep a closer eye on him than everyone else. It’s not on purpose, you just do.
When Conner shows up, you don’t turn him away like others and treat him like a fellow kryptonian even if your dad is having some issues with being cloned. You don’t blame Conner for being created, and you just want to help out.
This leads to you and Conner getting close, and you teaching him about the weird quirks that come with being part Kryptonian. He almost exposes you when he asks why you purr so much around Dick, but you quickly shut him up.
Pretty much everyone can tell Dick is just as head over heels for you in return, it’s probably why some of his past relationships ended. I could imagine his partners realizing he was pining hard for you, which lead to a breakup for the most part.
Dick would think you don’t want a relationship in general since you’ve never been in a relationship with anyone, but everyone knows its because you pine after him too.
You two circling eachother like a pair of peacocks has been the cause of many tired conversations between your dads or your teammates. Bruce and Clark have known for years that you two like each other, but they also don’t want to push either of you to confess if you arent ready.
Your teammates have bets on how long its gonna take, Roy is the winner right now, since the bet was made years ago and he bet it would take you guys years, whilst the others said months or a year max.
You guys “hang out” all the time, but its very much just dates without you guys admitting it is. Like going out to eat together, going to the movies, or you flying around with him in your arms just for fun.
You guys end up kissing when you’ve been hit with a pretty strong dose of kryptonite, and you were loopy and weak. You weren’t sure you would make it out, so you kiss him.
Of course, you survive, and try to ignore that anything actually happened since you still think he doesn’t like you in return, and you fear you might have ruined your friendship.
It doesn’t help that all his exes are so attractive and skilled that it makes you insecure. Dick isn’t doing well with you avoiding him, as you go as far as using your super hearing to avoid him.
It ends up being Wally or Conner who explains to Dick that you feel insecure and like you won’t be able to meet his standards, which Dick doesn’t understand because he thinks your so far out of his league.
He would want to talk to you, but again, you’re avoiding him. Dick ends up getting the help from teammates and probably even Clark as you can’t outfly your dad like you can some of the others.
Finally, you two get to talk it all through, tears or shed, both sad tears and happy tears. You both feel so stupid cuz you’ve liked each other for years, but neither of you realized or confessed.
It takes a while after you start dating for you not to feel insecure or like you can’t meet some invisible standard, but Dick being so insanely smitten as he is helps quite a lot.
Your teammates have definitely joked that Dick would kiss the very ground you walk on if you asked, not that you wouldn’t do the same though.
You two are so cute together its almost sickening honestly. Always near eachother, holding hands, cuddling, kissing. The amount of flirting you do over comms now that you are together is unbelievable.
You’re very happy, though the insecurity does pop up at times. Your families and friends are happy you two finally confessed too. And Roy won the bet and became a richer man.

To Answer The Call | SAGAU one-shot|
A/N: I wrote this one-shot because I wanted to celebrate that I won the 50/50 even though I didn't have it guaranteed so now grandma is home. I also decided to use the Lantern Rite invitation to invite Ga Ming because he's such a sunshine I love him so much. So, I hope you like this.
CW: fem!reader, a little (cough*highly*cough) self indulgent, Zhongli mentioned to be the creator's favorite.
Word count: 899 words
Featuring: Xianyun and Ga Ming
Tumblr media
It was no secret that the thing the vision holders wanted the most was to receive the call, from their creator. Aside from the ones that were chosen as starting companions, there were only a few lucky ones that got the chance to receive said calling as it seemed that Her Grace was someone really picky when it came to choosing those that were going to be called to her side. Among all the Liyue vision holders, it seemed that the favorite of Her Grace was none other than the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Consultant; Mr. Zhongli.
Most believed that it was because of his extensive knowledge of Liyue's history, perhaps Her Grace liked knowledgeable people the most. However, people like the adepti knew that the reason was... something else; Morax was the god of contracts and as such Her Grace found suitable to made a contract with him in order to guarantee that he would answer the call when the time came. Of course, he answered her call half because of the contract and half because he would never dream to ignore his creator.
Some time after that news arrived that the next in answering the call was Miss Keqing, the Yuheng from the Qixing. Almost at the same time news from Fontaine said that the Chief of Justice, Mr. Neuvillette also answered Her Grace's call and even from Mondstadt an astrologist named Mona Megistus also answered said calling. Of course there was more than just them who had already the privilege of answering her call, including the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing Miss Ningguang and the famous opera performer Miss Yun Jin.
As member of the adepti Cloud Retainer also had the secret wish that maybe some day her creator would call for her, after moving to live among humans and making a new identity she awaited every day. And when the time finally came, she saw it and heard it... the call from her creator so of course she answered immediately and next time she knew she was in front of the Traveler. Though it would be more appropriate to say that she was in front of her, there was no way of mistaking that right golden eye that shined with ancient power. But why was her expression so... surprised? Disappointed? The adeptus couldn't really tell at all.
"Xianyun? Wow... I mean, thank you so much for answering my call. I... I'm actually surprised because I thought that you might have not wanted to answer my call."
How could she not? Nothing could ever be more important than being at her creator's service, she glanced at her and noticed that after saying those words Her Grace smiled at her, it seemed that after all she was pleased with her answering to her call. Of course, as soon as she got within Her Grace's grasp she immediately showered the adeptus with a lot of gifts and also bestowed her with more power. Just like she had done with all of the other acolytes that answered her calling, Her Grace really loved them so deeply. So, the news that Miss Xianyun from Qiaoying Village got called by Her Grace spread out until it reached Yilong Wharf where a certain young man was also wishing that her creator called for him.
Everyone knew his name, Gaming, one of the guards for the Sword and Strongbox Secure Transport Agency. A lively and passionate boy who also loved Wushou Dances, of course as everyone else he wanted to get the chance to be called by Her Grace but he never thought that he would have more than what he expected because he also got to meet her in person. It was no secret that the blond traveler better known as the Hero of Liyue was the creator's vessel, so when he met with them at Liyue Harbor he thought of himself as a really lucky person.
And to his surprise he not only met Her Grace but also she helped him to reconcile with his father, could he be more lucky? Of course he could, because he felt so special when she extend him a letter and it happened it was no ordinary letter because it was actually an invitation to join her. He was so worried that she would never call for him but it turned out that she prepared an invitation for him and only him. He opened the letter and of course, soon he received tons of gifts and even more power.
"Since you weren't answering for my calls I thought that maybe it would be better to give you an invitation in person. That way you wouldn't be able to reject me right?"
She said, her right golden eye shining as bright as the sun. Gaming felt his heart racing like crazy, he wanted to tell her that it was not that he was ignoring her calls but it seemed that they got lost and never reached him but now... Now he was by her side and not only that, he was not going to forget so easily how excited she seemed upon meeting him for the first time or when she said such things like he was "her precious sunny boy", he didn't have any clue what that meant but for some reason it sounded special and it made him feel that way: special.

Magic - White Crow
[Ao3]
Content Warnings: n/a (unless you count Constantine's swearing)
Crossover: DPxDC (A few of my submissions are planned to be crossovers, but the majority won't be. All crossovers will be identified.)
Summary:
Several Justice League members have reported experiencing a white crow visiting their dreams, a strange occurrence which gains importance when the creature is linked to a missing child god.
~~~
The Justice League conference room was quieter than usual, for as many people as were present. Half the heroes sitting around the table were pensively thoughtful, while the others had picked up enough on the mood to be on edge.
After all, Constantine didn’t like coming to the Watchtower when he could at all avoid it, and went to great lengths to do so, so it was significant that he had agreed to attend this meeting.
Of course, he wasn’t here yet, so there was still time for him to have bugged out.
Batman sat watching his colleagues. He had been having a reoccurring dream for nearly two weeks, one featuring a strange white crow. After overhearing Red Robin mention the creature after a 12-hour sleep following three days without, he had questioned the rest of the Gotham vigilantes and realized that they had all dreamed of the white crow at least once in the past month.
He had brought the matter up with Superman, who had also dreamed of the creature one night after working together with Batman, and that was enough to call in Constantine.
Who had better show up in the next five minutes, or he was going to have words with the Occultist.
The disaster in question showed up two minutes later, slumping over to the space at the table left for him and setting down the coffee he had stopped by the cafeteria to grab before coming to the meeting room.
“Don’t,” John lifted a finger to forestall Batman’s words, “lecture me. I’ve been run ragged for the past month trying to find a baby god someone kidnapped, so just… don’t.”
“A baby god?” Wonder Woman echoed, frowning in concern. “Who?”
“Chronos’ ward.”
Her brows raised in surprise. “The Veil-Keeper?”
“Wonder Woman?  What do you know?” Batman asked. He had a gut feeling that this was… too coincidental. The missing child god and the strange white crow... They were connected.
“I don’t know much,” Diana replied. “Just that several of the other gods have been speaking of Chronos’ new ward, a “Keeper of the Balance.” Hades himself has spoken fondly of the young one, apparently.”
Constantine nodded. “And the kid is missing. Half the Infinite Realms are ready to announce war if they can’t find their missing darling.” He waved a hand theatrically and chugged his black coffee with the abandon that could only be obtained after more than two days without sleep. “So, what the hell do you want, Bats.”
“I think I have a lead on your missing kid.”
The occultist’s gaze snapped to the Bat, brows raised. “You what?”
“The purpose of this meeting,” Batman said, “was to bring up a repeated appearance of a strange creature in several people’s dreams. A white crow. It hasn’t caused any harm, but seems to want the dreamer to follow it. No one has yet managed to follow it all the way back to where it is attempting to lead the dreamer.”
Constantine nodded, pulling out a notebook and jotting something onto it. “A white crow… yeah, that’d fit the kid. Has it spoken?”
Looking around, it appeared that though some of the other Justice League members had seen the crow in their own dreams, none could say it had spoken to them.
“It… He has not spoken,” Martian Manhunter spoke up after a few moments, “but I have noted the creature’s emotions. That is the strangest part to me, that he seems to be an actual being within the dream, and not just a dream-creature illusion.”
“Well?” Constantine prompted impatiently.
“He is scared. Batman is correct, he wants to lead the dreamer somewhere, and becomes increasingly desperate as the dreamer follows him further. He feels… as if he is fighting against something. As if his ability to reach out is being pushed to the limit and becomes harder the closer he comes to his destination.”
A few more notes were jotted down. “Right,” Constantine said. “I need to make a call.”
“Is there anything we can do to help?” Wonder Woman asked.
“I’ll… let ya know after I make the call.”
He turned, walking out of the room without fanfare. The rest of the League watched him for a moment, before Batman stood up and followed after, ignoring any attempts to bring him back and let Constantine go.
“What sort of god is this child?” he asked the occultist in the hall outside.
Constantine swore. “Give me a few damned minutes, Bats,” he snapped. “When I said I needed to make a call before anything else, I meant it. Unless you want several worlds’ worth of the dead to declare war on the planet.”
Batman’s eyes narrowed, obviously wanting to ask about that, but if Constantine thought the message couldn’t wait, then he would ask his questions after it. As irritating as the Brit was, he did know his job.
John grunted and continued striding down the hallway toward the section of the Watchtower set aside for magical matters. He didn’t attempt to stop Batman when the man followed. It would just be more stress and time lost than it was worth to argue with the stubborn ass.
In the magic archives, he kicked a few boxes of paperwork out of his way, exposing a silver circle inlaid into the floor. Once it was completely clear, he pulled a piece of chalk from a coat pocket and began noting down runes around the rim of the circle.
Batman stood to the side, watching silently and memorizing the runes’ arrangements, though he knew Oracle was also receiving the footage through his cowl and was already looking up the meanings.
Finished, Constantine straightened, pulled a vial of glowing green liquid from another coat pocket, and poured it into the circle.
The liquid didn’t touch the ground. Glowing Lazarus green, it slid out of the vial with the thickness of elementary schooler's glue, fell halfway to the ground, then dissipated in the air, the sigils and silver itself beginning to glow the same lurid green.
Constantine cleared his throat, then spoke. “Nocturn. Dreamer of the Realms. Aspect of Dream of the Endless. Ancient of Sleep. I have word on the whereabouts of the Realms' Prince.”
It wasn’t the usual summoning ritual. No chanting, few theatrics. It must be a matter important to the entity being called, for them to be willing to come to something so simple.
Or maybe they were just used to Constantine being… Constantine.
The circle glowed brighter green, and a swirl of darkness formed in the center. It shifted, tendrils of shadow taking on the forms of a multitude of half-formed ideas as it gradually grew and finally took on a humanoid form.
The shifting shadows resolved into a head, with a face like that of a white mask, cracked along one eye, and curling horns stretching out from its head. Its body seemed to hold infinite depth, glimmers of stars visible within the space as it stood twice as tall as either man.  It leaned down to peer at Constantine with glowing red eyes.
“What have you heard, Laughing Magician?”
“Nocturn,” Constantine greeted. “Apparently, several of his lot,” and here he pointed with his thumb over at Batman, “have been receiving reoccurring dreams of a white crow. Manhunter seems to think it’s trying to seek help.”
“A white crow…” the deity echoed, straightening. “I see. My brother will be glad you have finally identified a lead.”
“Yeah, about that, mate. How the hell does your brother, Destiny of the fucking Endless, not know where his adopted son is?”
Nocturn blinked down at him in bittersweet amusement. “We can not interfere in such matters,” he said. “The boy is still mortal enough that we, and my brother in particular, can not act to seek out his safety.”
“Why’d you want me to call you when I got a lead, then?”
At this, Nocturn leaned closer, the twisting shadows of his body swirling dizzyingly. “We may not act directly, but we can facilitate the ease of the search by those mortals who are looking for him. We do not want a war between the Overworld and the Realms of the Infinite any more than you do, but there are those who do desire war. Especially concerning the crimes lately perpetrated by the living against the dead.”
Batman frowned at this. “Crimes against the dead?”
The Ancient’s attention turned to him. “Yes, Gotham’s Son. You will find those answers when you find the Realms’ Prince.”
Before the Bat could ask more about that, Constantine spoke up. “So when you say you can facilitate our retrieval of the kid, what do you mean?”
Nocturn smiled. “Nothing much, Magician.  Simply that which is already within my nature.”
The entity grew in size, overtaking the boundaries of the circle as if it were nothing more than spidersilk, the sigils disappearing into sparks and afterimages. A sprinkle of sand was scattered from the Ancient's hand, and Batman and John Constantine fell asleep.
~~~
Gotham was burning. Gotham was burning, and his sons were burning, and he was trapped in a mire of reaching, clutching hands which refused to let him go.
Batman struggled against the grasping arms, finally freeing himself from them, but by the time he looked up, Gotham was dark. Silent. A burned husk of itself, and him… alive, and too late to save those he was supposed to protect.
He fell to his knees, wishing the hands would come back to pull him away from the dismal failure, but they did not reappear.
In the distance, a white speck appeared, quickly coming closer.
The sound of a crow’s caw triggered some memory in Batman’s mind. He seized on the half-formed thought, pulling it to the fore-front and examining it.
A white crow.
The missing god.
He was dreaming. Gotham had not burned. His children were not dead. But this dream…
Right. The white crow. A child who needed their help.
He held his arm up to the crow, and after a few cautious circles above him, it came in to land on the offered arm.
“It’s taken us a bit, but I think we’ve got your message,” Batman said to the crow, in the softer voice he saved for children. “We’re here to help, and we’re going to find you.”
The crow blinked, turning its head to stare at him with one eye. It seemed to visibly relax, like a great fear or urgency was bleeding away from it.
“Bats! There you are.” Constantine stomped over, stepping out of an alley from the burnt husk of Gotham. The crow startled, flapping its wings, but Batman gently stroked a gloved finger down its back and it settled.
“Constantine.”
“Stupid bloody Ancients. I swear Dream’s more of a pain to deal with he’s pulling that duty than when he’s just being his straight-up Endless self.”
The crow perked up at the mention of an Ancient, hopping from foot to foot excitedly.
“Yeah, kid, we finally figured ya out, and we’re gonna help get you out from wherever you’re locked up. Of course the old Gear-face couldn’t go get ya himself…”
The crow shrugged.
“You know how it is, then,” Constantine finished.
The crow nodded.
Batman stood watching all of this with neutral attention. This part wasn’t his sort of specialty. His skills would be more required when they finally found where the kid was being held and went in to free him. For now, he paid partial attention to the conversation, and the rest to their surroundings. Even in his own dreamscape, he wouldn’t assume there weren’t dangers.
Perhaps especially within his own dreamscape.
He turned back to Constantine and the crow. The occultist was just tying what appeared to be a red thread around the crow’s ankle, and had tied a similar one to his own finger, the tail end of the thread left hanging down several inches.
With another nod, the crow took off, heading into Gotham.
Batman began to follow.
Constantine held him back. “We’re not following from here, mate. Nothing we can do for the kid when he can’t get us close enough to his own dream to locate him.”
The look the Bat gave him told him to finish explaining quickly.
“His dream-self is part of him. When he wakes up, he’ll still have the string, spiritually. This,” Constantine held up his hand, showing the thread tied around his own finger, “sticks with me. We use it to find him while we’re awake, so your crew can kick the asses of whoever snatched him.”
Batman stared at him for a moment, looked after the disappearing form of the crow, and then nodded. “Alright. Wake us up.”
“You heard him, big guy. Care to pull us out?”
They woke gradually, eyes gritty with what seemed to be an entire night’s worth of sand, though Batman’s cowl-HUD told him that they had been asleep no more than two hours. The silver ring was plain metal once again, the carefully chalked runes gone, along with the Ancient they had summoned.
“Remind me not to go traipsing round your dreams again, by the way,” Constantine said, groaning as he pushed himself upright and to his feet. “That version of Gotham was even more miserable than the real one.”
Batman just grunted, standing himself. “You can find the boy?”
“Yeah, yeah, I can find him.” Constantine pulled out a cigarette, putting it in his mouth but not lighting it.  He held up a hand, the red string still tied there, the hanging end fluttering. “Gather your posse. We’ll need to head planet-side to find our white crow.”

How do you think Tim and Cass would get along?
Which is the better sibling pair: Tim and Cass or Steph and Jason - WHY?
plz just give me fluffy Tim and Cass working together okay I have read exactly two (2) comics and I have watched SOME young Justice and I have read so many angst fics all I want is for these children to be happy
Sorry it's taken so long to answer this, I got carried away and kept rambling haha.
Tim and Cass in canon is so interesting because it starts out with Tim being Tim, more than a little wary and judgemental because of Cass's past. But he actually owns up to this, apologises for his biases, and asks Cass if they can be friends. And they are! Fresh blood is where they're front and center, and in batgirl volume 2 he's the one most supportive of her, along with being the one in the family to reach out to her after Bruce dies and the one she clearly is closest to in Gates of Gotham. But what really makes Tim and Cass for me are all the little moments in canon where they're Batgirl and Robin and they're not even the main focus of the story, but their sibling twin menace energy is off the charts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just little moments of their teamwork really cemented their bond for me. To me it's like... More than any other batgirl and robin duo these two should be almost creepily in sync. Batman says "Team assemble." and they drop down from their various hideyholes in the roof with perfect timing. They could be having a fight that very day and not a single criminal would know if from the way they bounce off each other in combat.
But as well as that, they've seen each other at some of the lowest points in their lives, and been there for each other. The loss of Steph, Tim's dad, Cass getting brainwashed by Slade, Bruce's death. They never had to be the first priority for each other to still end up on the list of people to take care of and I kind of love that. The reassurance that no matter what happens with all the other important relationships in your life, batgirl and robin will always have each other's backs, in whatever way they can.
For me, they're the better sibling pair to Steph and Jason because Tim and Cass do actually have a solid arc you can trace through comics, even despite editorial having it out for Cass at certain points. There are comics and storylines you can pick up and see them acting like siblings even before Cass was adopted.
Whereas with Steph and Jason it was all about the potential, and still kind of is tbh. It's about Bruce projecting Jason on Steph and Steph dying as a result, it's about both of them being familiar with taking care of an addict parent, it's about both of them knowing how much a loaf of bread costs, it's about how they were let down by people they trusted and how Bruce (thanks to the writers) puts both of them down to uplift Tim, it's about their attitude to killing and to criminals and how death changed both their perspectives permanently but in very different directions.
But the issue is that they started interacting during the new 52 where all of Steph's history had been erased and Jason had been defanged off screen into a batfam member. And then from rebirth onwards they suffer from a similar issue a lot of batfam relationships do, where instead of developing the bond the writers just go yeah this is how they interact now. How did they get close? How come they trust each other? Idk, it just happened.
And this is not unique at all to Jason and Steph nor does it stop me from enjoying their interactions, but it does put Cass and Tim on top for me.
And now, for more fun Cass and Tim panels from Red Robin, featuring Cass vs technology:

(OK the last one doesn't look fluffy but you gotta understand fake murdering each other is their favourite form of enrichment)

It's a well worn topic at this point but the imminent release of The Marvels has me thinking about how militaristic the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, with Monica Rambeau aka Photon, a habour patrol member in the comics, reimagined as a captain in the US Air Force.
She follows Hawkeye, who was changed from an argumentative former circus performer with a heart of gold (a character so staunchly against lethal force he once revoked his own wife's Avengers membership because she sort of, maybe, subconsciously allowed a villain to fall to his death) into a hard-nosed black ops assassin.
Sam Wilson/ Falcon made his celluloid debut as an army man with twin submachine guns attached to his wrists. It’s a far cry from his print counterpart’s introduction as a social worker by day who uses his skill at falconry to protect his neighbourhood.
Tumblr media
If we allow the argument that modern cinema goers are accustomed to a sprinkling of realism to make their superheroes palatable (and it’s a strange argument really- why should realism be a desirable quality in summer blockbuster escapism?) then what actually constitutes “realism”.
Sure, a man who learnt uncanny skill with a bow and arrow growing up with a travelling show couldn’t possibly hold his own alongside Hulk or Thor in the real world (and, yes, there isn’t a Hulk or Thor in the real world; as I say, this is a strange argument), but if he learned those exact same skills in some kind of military context then that somehow passes the bar for realism? The sinister upshot is that these children’s heroes become more warlike just as, globally, they reach more children than ever before.
Increasing the realism of superhero stories only serves to make them problematic. DC Comics' Batman, who is the frequently subjected to “realistic” treatments, is the prime example. If, in real life, a billionaire tooled himself up with the best weapons and body armour money can buy and began dispensing violent “justice” with no accountability, then of course that wouldn’t be a good thing. If they wore a costume with pointy ears and started calling themselves “Batman” then of course we would question their sanity. But Batman isn’t real; it’s a story. Nobody thinks The Muppet Show advocates animal cruelty. Quite the opposite, if anything. ("Not unless they're watching it", as Waldolf once heckled) Yet if a filmmaker decides they’re going to make a “grounded and realistic” remake where Fozzy is played by a real live bear wearing a pork pie hat and spotty necktie, then that's a whole other story. Suspend your disbelief and superheroes are less like the police or army and more akin to volunteers and activists, doing what they can with what they have to improve the lives of those around them. Their actions take the form of crime fighting only because that’s what makes for exciting colourful adventure stories for children.
In the MCU, even Marvel’s poster boy, Spider-Man (another champion of non-lethal solutions, known for his compassion even to his enemies and who possesses an enduring appeal to young children) is given a literal sheen of the military-industrial complex in the form of “Stark Tech” armour, replete with military grade strike drones. Tony Stark even thought to equip his 15 year old protégé-cum-child soldier with an “Instant Kill Mode”. In a moment played for laughs in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man rejects his on-board AI's attempt to activate this feature but seems untroubled that such an option exists and, indeed, come Avengers: Infinity War, he voluntarily deploys it. It’s not clear if Spidey actually does kill any of his alien adversaries, but it seems reasonable to assume that one doesn’t say “Activate Instant Kill Mode” without the intention of ending lives. Fans are expected to smile or applaud as Spider-Man says these words, recognising the call-back to Homecoming, rather than find it a gross misrepresentation of Marvel’s most beloved character or an alarming depiction of a children’s favourite.
The MCU Avengers as a whole are a US government “initiative “. The reluctant superheroes need to be cajoled into putting their differences aside for the greater good by army top brass Nick Fury. In a tweak from the source material, the ‘H' in Fury's organisation, SHIELD, stands for ‘Homeland’, making SHIELD as explicitly American venture as opposed to it being ostensibly intergovernmental in the comics.
Tumblr media
There is a comic book precedent for this military take on Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the form of The Ultimates, a 2002 series by the British team of writer Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch. The Ultimates ,however, was satire. Millar was an unreformed lefty of the old school – someone who has boasted of voting Brexit for left-wing reasons, someone who once appeared on Russia Today as a guest of George Galloway. The Ultimates took swings at the gung ho jingoism of post 9/11 America. Captain America's “Surrender!!?? You think this letter on my head stands for France?“ is not supposed to be a badass one-liner, but rather a parody of the kind of things US media outlets were saying as Jacques Chirac proved less keen than Tony Blair to follow George Bush in bringing gunboat diplomacy to the Middle East. As Millar commentated at the time:
“The Ultimates is completely different because it's a character-driven piece and (something only a few people have noticed) my attempt as a left-wing writer to tell stories about an essentially right-wing concept and cast. It's very much the Anti-Authority, if you will. Captain America and so on are fully-paid members of the US military machine and this means a very different book and approach from a gang of slightly arrogrant, left-wing, superhuman utopians like The Authority ".
Wildstorm Comics' The Authority, which both Millar and Hitch worked on (although not together), was a precursor to Ultimates, featuring a team of similarly “any means necessary” heroes, albeit with a left-wing bent. The Ultimates does have something of The Authority’s utopian streak; Nick Fury and Tony Stark genuinely want to make the world a better place for everyone. It’s very idealistic – what if the head of the military and the biggest tech billionaire actually had the people’s best interests at heart? – and arguably closer to true superhero ethos (basically “with great power there must also come great responsibility “) than those characters more pragmatic MCU equivalents.
Yet, as Millar's one time writing partner Grant Morrison (who actually ghost-wrote at least one issue of The Authority under Miller’s name) observed in Morrison’s major nonfiction work, Supergods, the likes of The Authority, The Ultimates and, by extension, the MCU represent a “capitulation” to the view “that it was really only force and violence that got things done and not patient diplomacy, and that only soldiers and very rich people had the world figured out”. If the MCU is realistic, then it’s a sad indictment of the real world where the heroes are the ones with the best tech, the best guns and no compunction about using them.
Regardless of intent, The Ultimates left a door at Marvel’s “House of Ideas” just enough ajar to allow a malign notion to creep in: “These soldier superheroes are pretty cool. What If they were like that all the time? Wouldn’t they be more popular then”?
Certainly the navy SEAL aesthetic Bryan Hitch brought to the costumes (replacing the colourful tights and capes with pouches, straps and body armour) was soon adopted by superhero tv and film productions even pre-MCU. In fact, Hawkeye's journey from carny to commando mirrors the changes in superhero attire. Most famously, Superman's appearance with the red “overpants” derives from that of circus strongmen, but seeing any photography of early to mid 20th century carnival and circus performers makes it clear the early superhero creators had them in mind when they first put pencil to paper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In an interview (found in Marvel Spotlight: Captain America, published in 2009) Hitch related how he showed an initial Ultimates drawing of Captain America with a machine gun to Grant Morrison, which Morrison then “described as the most obscene Captain America image [they’d] ever seen”. (NB: Morrison has since adopted gender neutral pronouns). Perhaps Morrison said this with glee, in on the joke with their friends, but in the years since, Cap with a gun became a common sight, even in family-friendly movies (where it was divorced from the irony of The Ultimates).
Tumblr media
By a 2015 interview, Morrison lamented the fact that “the Avengers work for the government, and it's been like that since Mark [Millar] did The Ultimates” and said they were “bored with the idea that the best superheroes can represent is some aggressive version of the military. [...] They're supposed to be champions of the oppressed, they help ordinary people, they make things better for people. They don't prop up our grotesque, doddering culture of war and aggression”.
That same year Morrison introduced a new comic book superteam in the pages of The Multiversity. Pointedly the text likens this group, named “Justice Incarnate”, to a “cosmic neighbourhood watch” rather than any formal military or law-enforcement institution.
Millar himself reunited with his Authority collaborator Frank Quitely to create the comic Jupiter’s Legacy, which comes across in part as an apology for The Ultimates and all it begat. It concludes with the protagonists, Chloe Sampson and Eddie "Hutch" Hutchence taking up superhero mantles and promising not to make the moral compromises of their predecessors:
“No more bowing to authority and insitutions. No more deference to people in power”.
“There's a dignity in public service we mistook for old-fashioned, and a humility in having a secret identity, living among the people we protect.“
Tumblr media
The Avengers, Marvel’s breakthrough billion dollar box office 2012 movie, by contrast, concludes with Iron Man dropping a nuclear bomb on the “Chitari”, an invading alien army and it seems likely this influenced Morrison’s comments on modern superhero stories.
In Supergods, Morrison
describes their childhood dread of nuclear weapons. The child of “ban the bomb” activists, the “gruesome hand-drawn images of how the world might look after a spirited thermonuclear missile exchange” which illustrated their parents anti-nuclear literature struck terror into the young Morrison. Therefore they seized upon superheroes as being an idea powerful enough to counteract – and overcome – the idea of the bomb.
“It’s not that I needed Superman to be “real,” I just needed him to be more real than the Idea of the Bomb that ravaged my dreams”.
Within the narrative of the movie, Iron Man takes the only option available to him to save New York. Destroying thousands of alien lives to save thousands of human ones. But The Avengers isn’t a documentary; the scriptwriters could have written a satisfying denouement which didn’t involve mass murder. They could at least have included some words of regret by the heroes over what it took to win, acknowledging that killing is not the ideal solution. Instead the Avengers trade banter and eat shawarma, collective conscious clear.
There is a moment in another Grant Morrison work, Final Crisis, which always brings the MCU to mind. In Final Crisis #3, drawn by JG Jones, (published in 2008, the same year the MCU began) “evil gods” from a higher plain of existence have been reincarnated on Earth. In order for the Justice League to counter this threat, a “draft for Superheroes” is implemented. Green Arrow (a Batman-a-like character who was subsequently reinvented to embody the countercultural sentiment of the late 1960s and has since served as the social conscious of the superhero set) responds to receiving his draft notice thusly:
“If anybody falls for this authoritarian, militaristic crap, it’ll prove I’m absolutely right about absolutely everything!... “
Cue the next page, where the drafted heroes have gathered en mass (including Green Arrow, impotently shaking his fist.)
Tumblr media
Such an assemblage of characters in usually a triumphant moment in a summer "event" story, but here is framed as a sign that evil already has it’s hooks into reality. This world has fallen to the darkness and the superheroes who inhabit it are too morally compromised to realise it.

There wasn’t no doubt that “The Main Man” was nothing less than a ruthless alien bounty hunter. How he would happily oblige when told by those who hired him for his missions to “put on a show for the locals”, recklessly making his way through anything that happens to stand in his way, completing his missions with maybe just some scratches. An indestructible killing machine with absolutely no weakness, at least without being dismembered, but even then that doesn’t do much but buy people maybe a couple of months without his presence. Yet, there was one thing that he considered to be his weakness, not that he would just openly state what it was to everyone he came across but it was his own child, his own offspring: (Y/N).
Whenever the conversation had come about and (Y/N) had expressed their interest about wanting to stay upon Earth for the time being, despite being hesitant about the decision, Lobo had agreed. Upon discovering during one of his own bounties that his child had joined what was known as “The Team”, which was a group of young superheroes that were assigned to undertake covert missions on behalf of the Justice League, he was also hesitant about their decision, but decided to support them either way and they exchanged a nod of acknowledgement and understanding. (Y/N) was beginning to finally grow into their own individual as they departed from their father’s side and began to make their own decisions and choices, to finally forge their own path in life. Lobo couldn’t say anything else besides that he was proud and ultimately excited to see where (Y/N)’s choices would take them in life. Yet, that was until Lobo had discovered that they were in a relationship with another member of the team, and those paternal instincts within him knew that he had to take action.
Artemis Crock:
They had been planning this date for ages now, probably a couple of weeks to a month now. A chance for the both of them to get away from the busy things that kept them occupied within life. For (Y/N) to be able to take a breather from taking on countless missions with the Team, while Artemis would be able to take a break from grading countless literature essays from her teaching classes at Royal University. Yet, when it’s now about thirty minutes past the time that they were supposed to meet up and no communication from (Y/N) stating that they were going to be late, Artemis is becoming slightly worried and slightly on edge. Are they okay? Did something happen to them? It was only some of her answers being resolved once she had made it to (Y/N)’s place of residence and finding the piece of paper left by Lobo stating a location for Artemis to meet him at.
Upon reaching the destination from the note, Artemis is firsthand met with a seemingly pouting (Y/N). Arms crossed while slight annoyance had overtaken their features, that was until they had caught sight of Artemis. “State your business with my child, human.” Lobo’s voice overcomes any other noises in the area, his dark red eyes piercing into Artemis, muscular arms crossed over his chest in an attempt to make himself more menacing. Artemis raises a slight eyebrow in confusion before leaning over slightly to glance over at (Y/N), who has slowly made their way closer to both Artemis and Lobo. “He means that he wants to know your intentions of being with me, revolving around our relationship.” Artemis is almost insulted at hearing that Lobo is questioning Artemis’s intentions with being in a relationship with (Y/N), sort of speaking, and her hands immediately go to land on her hips.
It’s something like an intense staredown between their partner and their father, something similar to those showdown scenes within those old wild west films. (Y/N)’s waiting patiently, seeing who would be the first one to break between the both of them. “You don’t believe that I have what it takes to love (Y/N)? To be able to make sure that they’re happy and taken care of while you go galavanting along throughout the galaxy?” Upon hearing Artemis’s remark in response to him questioning her intentions with (Y/N), Lobo’s eyes widened in not only surprise, but amusement as well. “Well, quite the amusing one, aren’t you, human? ..but, straight-up, brutal honesty..” A soft chuckle leaves Lobo’s lips as he proceeds to turn back to glance at (Y/N), who has a flustered blush upon their face while they stand there almost nervously at what this outcome could be. “Oh, don’t you fret, little one. Your partner gets to live to see another day with you.. But, you make sure that you let me know if this puny human even lays a finger on you wrongly and I will crush them into a pulp.”
M’Gann M'orzz:
It was the actuality that they were both extraterrestrial individuals still adjusting to the quite numerous customs and cultures of that on Earth that had caused M’Gann and (Y/N) to have been brought together. (Y/N) having spent many days assisting M’Gann cook various goods or secretly watching reruns of that show she had based her original appearance on, M’Gann having spent many days watch as (Y/N) would vigorously train just to pass time or spending countless hours talking about the places that them and their father had visited during his bounties, leaving out the parts about how their father slaughtered countless lives. The similarities that the two individuals have grows into a close friendship, which soon results into a romantic relationship with one another. Overall, things were going quite well between M’Gann and (Y/N). Yet, with all good things there’s typically a bad thing that comes along with them. What was supposed to be a relaxing evening after return from a mission turns around to be a moment of panic as M’Gann comes upon the destruction of the headquarters of Mount Justice, and a note that had been left by Lobo stating M’Gann meet him at a location if she ever wanted to see (Y/N) again.
While she’s expecting a full blown retaliation and fight from Lobo, M’Gann is actually surprised to find that it’s just Lobo and (Y/N), and they are currently arguing with each other. She has to take a moment to process the scene in front of her before she starts giggling softly which captures the attention of the arguing duo. “Oh, M’Gann! Thank goodness you’re here! Can you tell me dad that we are perfectly fine and you’re not planning on probing me or sucking my brains out through a straw?” She couldn’t help but to begin busting out in laughter, knowing that (Y/N) must’ve been referencing those old, classic rumors about what extraterrestrials would do to humans after abducting them. Floating on over, she proceeds to take a gentle hold of (Y/N)’s hands, giving a sincere smile while glancing over at Lobo. “I can guarantee that us Martians don’t particularly participate in.. those peculiar rumors.
It doesn’t necessarily take much time to clear up the confusion and rumors from the conversations, Lobo explaining that he essentially had kidnapped his own offspring once finding out that they were in a relationship to figure out what M’Gann’s true intentions of being with (Y/N) were. “Don’t you worry, Sir.. I promise you that my intentions are pure and true, and that I’ll make sure to take care of them as they take care of me.” A moment of silence overcomes the three as they stand there, (Y/N) ultimately waiting for a response of approval, hopefully, or what would be another argument between father and child. “Fine then,” Lobo finally states, turning his head slightly to glance at (Y/N), giving a nod of approval. “I’ll accept that for now, but you hurt even one strand of hair on their head, and you’ll be hoping that I make it quick for you.”

In the panel where Empress is mis-labeled as a villain, is that also Fite 'n Maad? Are they considered villains/adversaries of Young Justice? Or did. They literally only get one villain right there with Harm?
LMAO YEAH. Let's... let's break this panel down:
Tumblr media
(Dark Crisis: Young Justice #4)
Looming in the background we've got Mickey Mxyzptlk who is the figure causing the trouble the boys are stuck in at this moment, right before his proper reveal. He's a villain, but as a new character introduced for this book, he's not a pre-established villain Young Justice has faced (though Young Justice did go against his father). However, considering he's not one of the proper figures depicted here and rather this ghostly figure behind the clouds, the 'our villains' line likely wasn't meant to be including him anyways.
Top left we've got Billy Hayes/Harm, Greta's brother (despite... Greta herself, a member of Young Justice, not showing up in this book at all outside of variant covers) and he is absolutely a villain that Young Justice went up against more than once.
Top right we've got Anita Fite/Empress, who is a member of Young Justice herself. Her initial appearances were as a mysterious figure popping up around the team, but one of her very first actions in the book was literally saving Cassie after she'd been injured, and she very quickly joins the team. She is a hero, and in no way a villain.
Bottom left & right i'm gonna group together, because you're right that is Fite 'n Maad/Donald Fite & Ishido Maad. As a duo of A.P.E.S. agents, early on they frequently butted heads with Young Justice and served as occasional antagonists in the more literary definition of the term, as a 'force that opposes the protagonists'. But they're absolutely not villains—especially after the point that Anita, Donald's daughter, joins the team.
Then front & center is the one that makes me laugh the most. The character depicted here is Baron Bedlam, who is a villain... but he is not Young Justice's villain. Now, the thing is, Young Justice does have a villain named Matthew Stuart/Bedlam, from one of their earliest stories JLA: World Without Grown-Ups (and later the follow-up story World Without Young Justice).
So like, this is clearly an art error. I'd almost guarantee the original script given to the artist mentioned 'Bedlam' as one of the characters to appear on the panel, and the artist googled 'Bedlam Young Justice' (a reasonable enough thing to google when looking for a reference) BUT because of the Young Justice cartoon which bears little if any resemblance to anything from the comics and did feature Baron Bedlam as a character... this is what comes up:
Tumblr media
And so that character got used for a reference instead of the actual correct Bedlam for when dealing with the comics Young Justice team. And for some reason... nobody on editorial caught it before it went to print/at some earlier stage in the art process, or at least nobody thought it was important enough to fix. Which is... wild to me.
But anyways, yes, you are correct in saying Harm is the only villain they actually got right here.

The Butterfly Effect p4 drabble? draft? w/e?

Under the cut is a small test run of TBE's 'prequel' story, written from the perspective of Fool!Naoto (he/him). Featured in this prologue are Fool!Naoto, Hierophant!Eri, Justice!Yuuta and Aeon!Yu. Word Count: 714
@latenitewaffles, @inkwell1013, @mushroomfusion245 @rollthedice-playthecards @thehedgehogat221b @sterling-writes @wonderguards @hobie-doh
Naoto Shirogane didn’t like trains that much. The long ride from Sendai down to Yasoinaba bored him immensely - the only thing he could do was scroll through his phone and listen to gossip about a local member who was having an alleged affair with a news reporter. He frowned, he wasn’t even sure where he was going, but was surprised when he’d received a text from the woman who would be taking care of him - at least, until his grandfather recovered;
Eri: Yuu-kun and I are waiting outside Yasoinaba Station
Eri: Text me when you arrive, okay?
Naoto: I’m on my way - I think it’ll take about 15 minutes
Eri: All right then! See you!
The train pulled into Yasoinaba Station, and Naoto sighed. He was here for a new beginning, that was what it was. A new beginning that had been met with awkward silence from his classmates at Sendai High - after all, he’d only just arrived there in his first year when suddenly, his grandfather’s illness got worse. At the end of March, he was taken out of Sendai and moved to a ‘family friend’ - Eri Minami, a woman who had been close to Naoto’s mother.
She’d also been forcibly moved from the city - following a divorce from her husband - alongside her son Yuuta - the Yuu-kun that she referenced in the text. So, she could relate to Naoto’s struggles moving from a big city to a small town. Naoto’s train of thought delayed somewhat as he left the train, with nothing but a small bag of luggage, with clothes and important items. He placed his hat back on, and sighed as he looked in his reflection in the windows of the train that was leaving.
It was strange, actually going to a place that recognised his gender… But it would work, after all, new beginnings and all that. He left the stairs at Yasoinaba Station, and was immediately greeted by his new legal guardian.
“Good morning, Nao-kun!”
Eri Minami was a tall, slim woman. She was probably in her mid-30s, Naoto assumed. She had wavy brown hair tied into a low bun, fair olive skin, and wore a simple, pale pink undershirt tucked into a pair of burgundy trousers, paired with a pair of magenta-coloured slippers. Over her undershirt was a matching burgundy peacock coat, stitched together with a deep purple ribbon. Naoto waved at her, picking up his luggage with a muted apology.
“How was the trip?” She asked, “It’s quite hard travelling such a long distance. I’m Eri Minami, by the way, but I think you already understand that.”
“It’s nice to meet you in person, Minami-san.”
Eri laughed. “Please, no need to be so formal! We’ll basically be family for the next year.”
Naoto noticed that standing awkwardly beside her was a brown haired boy, who appeared to be about 5 or 6 years old at most. The boy hid behind Eri’s pant leg, looking down awkwardly. Eri smiled.
“Yuuta, this is Naoto,” She greeted, “Naoto, Yuuta. You’ll basically be brothers for this year.”
“Wow, must be weird hearing that for the first time, huh?” She grinned. “Don’t worry, I got the information from your grandfather before you arrived here. It might be a struggle to get binders, but you can always ask someone to make them, I guess?”
Naoto nodded. It did seem quite difficult, but Eri seemed to be helpful. She began to walk off to her car, Yuuta in tow, and Naoto was about to follow them, noticing an individual who was walking up to the station — a tall, tan skinned young man, with a grey bowlcut, wearing a black jacket over a grey turtleneck, matching grey pants, a pair of bright yellow headphones around his neck and yellow sneakers.
As Naoto was about to leave, he heard the young man call out.
“Hey.” He said, as Naoto faced him. “Is this yours? You dropped it.”
The young man walked over with a small sheet of paper, which Naoto recognised as his handwritten version of Eri’s address. He paused, blinking.
“Thanks?” He said, as the young man nodded.
“I’ll see you around, stranger.” The young man said, walking off.
Naoto paused. What a strange encounter. It seemed like this would be normal for Yasoinaba going forward…

The increased popularity of Critical Social Justice Theory (CSJT, commonly referred to as Woke ideology) and the different ways in which it manifests in academia, the media, politics, and private life necessitate not only a historical analysis of its evolution but also a psychological formulation thereof, based on adherents’ behavior, affective states, and what they reveal about their interpretation of the world today. The historical development of Critical Social Justice Theory in its current form has been well established thanks to the research by James Lindsey, Helen Pluckrose, and Peter Boghossian. This developmental map describes the historical moments and philosophical checkpoints that ultimately led to CSJT, as it is applied today. In addition to its purely philosophical roots, there is a psychological structure underlying this worldview that requires certain psychological processes and intrapersonal dynamics on the part of its adherents for the ideology to be maintained, updated, and propagated. This article explores these processes.
Key Features of the Critical Social Justice Worldview
In their 2018 book The Coddling of the American Mind, Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt categorize social activism into two types of worldviews, namely common-humanity identity politics and common-enemy identity politics. The former describes a type of social religion where the well-being of all humans is prioritized based on shared human values and common goals. It is a “social religion,” where all humans are equally included, and members of society are often referred to in familial terms. Historically, common-humanity identity politics has aimed to unite and harmonize racial, gender, and other strata of American life—and not to destroy, “dismantle,” or “cancel” any cultural artifacts of American heritage. The latter worldview, however, endorses a value system where an ever-growing list of aspects in American society are identified as “problematic” and consequently deserving of destruction. People who live by this worldview are vigilant and alert, ready to identify an enemy: a historical figure, an academic subject, language use, religious doctrine, a specific religion, a tradition, or a demographic based on immutable properties (gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc.).
The common-enemy position has a well-established equivalence in psychology. Dividing people and human artifacts into all-bad or all-good categories is a basic feature of the Woke worldview. By virtue of a person’s immutable features, he is assigned a group-identity and is either classified as belonging to the evil oppressor class, the common enemy that needs to be exposed, humiliated, and cancelled or the virtuous, innocent victim class that deserves emancipation and social justice. To the Woke, the individual gets superseded by the group classification from which he cannot escape. Broadly, the categories carrying historical and current culpability include the categories of male, white, heterosexual, and able-bodied. Alternatively, categories carrying historical and current victimhood and moral innocence include the categories female, black/people of color, LGBTQ+ and disabled. This worldview in which every individual is classed as either all-bad or all-good actualizes a defense called splitting. Splitting is a primitive defence of young infants and in character constellations of some adults according to which people are either seen as purely evil and hostile, or purely innocent and loving.
Within this split worldview, certain qualities are attributed to the Other, including feelings, intentions, wishes, and character traits. The attribution of such mental and character traits onto someone else can be described as the defence mechanism known as projection. Prejudice of any kind (be that sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, ableism, etc.) may be seen as the result of people projecting hostile aspects to whole groups of people. Once this split worldview has been established, guilt and innocence of the role players within every incident are determined by gender, race, or sexual orientation. Critical Social Justice Theory does not ask whether racism or sexism or homophobia took place; it assumes that it inevitably did:
“The question is not ‘did racism take place’? but rather ‘how did racism manifest in that situation?'”
An appropriate question here may be framed as: “Where do the feelings, intentions, wishes, or character traits projected upon the other originate?”
There is no better a person to answer this question than the author of the Woke text White Fragility herself, Robin DiAngelo:
“I was invited to the retirement party of a white friend. The party was a pot-luck picnic held in a public park. As I walked down the slope toward the picnic shelters, I noticed two parties going on side by side. One gathering was primarily composed of white people, and the other appeared to be all black people. I experienced a sense of disequilibrium as I approached and had to choose which party was my friend’s. I felt a mild sense of anxiety as I considered that I might have to enter the all-black group, then mild relief as I realized that my friend was in the other group. This relief was amplified as I thought that I might have mistakenly walked over to the black party!
Patrick Rosal writes poignantly about the pain of being mistaken for the help at a black-tie event celebrating National Book Award winners…I have made this assumption myself when I have been unable to hide my surprise that the black man is the school principal or when I ask a Latinx woman kneeling in her garden if this is her home.”
The above admissions of her own prejudice assumed to be universal experience of all white people demonstrates the projection defenses CSJT adherents employ in their categorization of perceived oppression in each encounter. It is the contention of this piece that the feelings, intentions, wishes, or character traits projected to the Other originate with the person himself. These can be devaluing projections or idealizing projections (concordant with the primitive split into all-good and all-bad objects). With devaluing projections, aspects of the person they find internally intolerable, repudiating, or immoral within themselves get projected onto the bad object. Engaging the devalued Other with projected parts of themselves gives such individuals a greater sense of control over the otherwise intolerable aspects present yet denied within themselves. Often, those who employ this defensive splitting and projecting of bad aspects of themselves to the devalued Other, oftentimes manifest the exact type of projected characteristics themselves.
In contrast with devaluation and dehumanization of the Oppressor, the victimized Other is necessarily endowed with the opposite: all-good status of innocence, virtue, moral privilege, heroism, and essential purity. What is noteworthy is that some of the most passionate and devoted adherents of CSJT are also the most privileged elite of society. It seems that a vast number of these adherents belong to the category of white, often male, and heterosexual, frequently occupying prominent corporate, teaching, celebrity, or political positions, and belonging to middle- to upper-class households, having graduated from privileged schools and colleges, with concomitant great social influence, thus corresponding to CSJT’s definition of unearned privilege thanks to a most unjust, racist, and oppressive system. It is, therefore, logical to conclude that guilt about their shared perpetration of oppression may be too intolerable to bear. This anguish is solved in two ways:
By projecting the guilt onto non-adhering members of the same devalued category, pointing out the racism in others, resorting to call-out and cancellation campaigns, and terrorizing individuals suspected of non-adherence (which is tantamount to endorsing racism) online, in the media, and especially before the suspected perpetrator’s employer.
By employing a defense called identification with the victim, they act as allies to victimized minorities, describing themselves in self-deprecating terms, confessing their own racism and oppression, and vowing to commit to the Woke cause of dismantling systemically oppressive racist, sexist, homophobic, and transphobic systems. This allyship may, in fact, be described as a conscious or subconscious strategy to rid oneself of one’s own sense of complicity in the believed perpetration of oppression, by demonizing the devalued Other and, thus, camouflaging oneself through self-debasement and virtue-signaling behavior.
A further appeal for such passionate endorsement of the CSJT comes from the social incentives. In the media, in centers of higher education, as the ethos of many corporations, at museums, in demonstrations by sports stars, at social events, and in the public statements by celebrities and artists, CSJT is framed as the moral goal of society—a new social religion. Not only is this worldview presented as morally superior to currently competing alternatives, but there is also a sense of prestige attached to it by virtue of the status associated with society’s trailblazers of trends—a Thorstein Veblen Theory of trendy morality. Through narrative saturation in the media, the appearance of consensus, fear of ostracization, and association with what is prestigious, classy, and trendy, a moral ideal is created: A mass movement has been formed consisting of individuals of apparently one mind, striving toward the same indisputable and prestigious ideal. In his 1921 volume, Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego, Sigmund Freud expounded on the idea that everyone identifies with a parent, teacher, or other admired figure, according to which certain personal goals for the future are set. In committing to these goals, the individual makes certain sacrifices, while feeling motivated by the imaginary pleasure he would enjoy from attaining these goals. In addition to identifying with the victim as an object of sympathy, the subject is also seduced into identifying with the idealized object (admired celebrities, artists, athletes, etc.) endorsing a worldview portrayed as morally prestigious. In doing so, the adherent to the CSJT enjoys the comfort of moral bliss, a sense of triumph, and the enhancement of self-esteem.
This state can only be maintained for as long as the all-good versus all-bad split is maintained. Psychologically, this is a much simpler maneuver compared to a more difficult alternative: namely, to tolerate ambivalence. It may be more bearable to condemn whole demographics, whole cultures, and whole histories as all-evil on the grounds of the despised aspects of such persons and their artifacts (also called part-object representation) than to deal with the complexities of appreciating that people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, histories, and cultures consist of both positive and negative aspects to various degrees (i.e., whole object representation).
CSJT ensures the maintenance of the psychic split in various ways. The assigning of privilege and perpetration, on the one hand, and disadvantage and moral purity, on the other, is not based on alterable factors but on static, immutable characteristics framed in totally offensive terms. One  does not and might never hear of authoritative-parenthood privilege; addiction-free household privilege; disease-free childhood privilege; or early-trauma-free privilege; nuclear family privilege. These categories (whose correlations with improved development into adulthood have been confirmed) would weaken the split between unchangeable categories and turn it into a more workable framework in which those concerned with social justice could work. Adherents of the Woke worldview disallow this more complex approach to social issues (psychologically, an ambivalent position) and, instead, succumb to the simplistic and often pleasurable permission to demonize entire categories of people according to immutable traits.
Adherents of the CSJT also have a conspicuous relationship with world history. Central to their worldview, historical research, as recounted by the oppressor (heterosexual white male), cannot be trusted and merely perpetuates oppression and hate. In response, the Woke engage in a process of historical revisionism, applying the principles of postmodernism (evidence has no objective value, only subjective benefit) and cultural Marxism (oppressor-victim dichotomy along racial, gender, sexual orientation, and other categories) as their methodology to arrive at preferred, predetermined conclusions. Therefore, the white heterosexual male is an evil oppressor, and the minority class is the tragic hero. Historical empathy, or the ability to appreciate the complex reality of history, is no longer applied. Instead, history is used to remind one of the oppressor class’ inherent evil. Whatever can be said of the historical white male may also be claimed of the white heterosexual male today: He is greedy, oppressive, violent, unjust, and immoral. Since the past is also present in the CSJT worldview, historical culpability is also present culpability. To the Woke, history does not exist as history; history is current, and representatives of history are to be judged according to today’s moral values (also called, presentism).
A fundamental flaw in the CSJT worldview of history is that it cannot adequately account for the historical record when white nations have been the victims of defeat and oppression. These include the enslavement of Europeans by North African and Middle Eastern nations as well as by other European nations. Similarly, the Woke switch strategy is applied when presented with well-documented history involving the imperialism, warfare, genocide, and enslavement of Native American and African tribes by other Native American and African tribes. Shaka Zulu, the warrior king of the Zulus in the 19th century, displaced Jele, AmaHlubi, Swati, Matebele, and Makololo people who settled in other regions in Southern Africa, or were assimilated into other tribes. Similarly, the Trans-Saharan Slave Trade involved non-European tribal warlords like Tippu Tip of East Africa and others who participated in the oppressionof other non-European subjects. Whole kingdoms like the Hausa and Igbo Empires of Nigeria flourished during the Trans-Saharan Slave Trade and virtually collapsed when Napoleon brought it to an end. History reflects the complexity of human society in which moral judgments can hardly be made in black-and-white (or all-good versus all-bad) fashion. Current research has not found an application of CSJ doctrine implicating non-European nations in a social matrix of oppressor and oppressed demographics.
Tangential to the CSJT worldview is the strategy employed when current social affairs are reported. Politicians, Big Tech companies, university lecturers, and legacy media resort to narrative selection and narrative saturation by creating a perception of today’s world that closely resembles the CSJT “reality.” The aim appears to be the manipulation of the listener’s perception of social reality, heightened selective awareness of incidents, and perceptual blindness to aspects of reality which do not fit into this precise narrative. This narrative follows the same split in which members of all-bad object-categories are pre-emptively devalued and rendered culpable as the oppressor, and members of the all-good object-categories are overvalued as innocent and unfairly oppressed. Thus, Eric Kaufman explains:
“At the extreme, minorities are viewed as hyper-fragile children than must be protected from all harms, however microscopic or imaginary. The majority is hated and feared as a vicious predator against whom one must constantly stand on guard, and which should be attacked remorselessly.”
But contrary to the totalizing narrative, the latest evidence shows a significantly more complex picture in terms of:
The income gap among ethnicities and genders in the United States
Hate crime statistics in the United States
Police brutality in the United States
State of suffering (as opposed to comfortable privilege) facing men
According to Kaufman, this selective maneuvering by CSJT adherents in dealing with historical and social information reveals a concerted effort to perpetuate a social narrative in which the evil white male-dominated West is in toto responsible for the oppression and suffering of the innocent, noble, morally pure victim classes—not only historically, but also presently.
What follows from this? CSJT adherents are clear: Through a process called problematizing, every aspect of European/Western society is to be combed to make visible its inherent oppressiveness. CSJT provides the doctrinal blueprint for how evil Western society is, and every single aspect of society should be interpreted accordingly to confirm its inherent evil. In this process of dismantling all traces of “whiteness” or of the “hegemony of heteronormativity” from Western society, nothing escapes the devaluing gaze of the CSJT activist. Dismantling is a euphemism for destruction, and the moral rationale for this is due to Western society’s inherent badness. DiAngelo herself writes:
“There are many approaches to antiracist work; one of them is to try to develop a positive white identity. Those who promote this approach often suggest we develop this positive identity by reclaiming the cultural heritage that was lost during assimilation into whiteness for European ethnics. However, a positive white identity is an impossible goal. White identity is inherently racist; white people do not exist outside the system of white supremacy…Rather, I strive to be ‘less white.’”
No credit is given to Western society as the locus of the Enlightenment, and the same standard of blanket disqualification is not consistently applied to other cultural groupings. CSJT adherents have demonstrated their disgust for the West, problematizing everything from Shakespeare and Beethoven to mathematics and science. The above excerpt is a clear admission that ambivalence cannot be endured; that there can only be one approach to dealing with Western society, and that is to dismantle it. Anything softer than that would be accommodation (also referred to as maintaining the status quo). Just as splitting into immutable categories ensures that the split is immutably secured, stating that non-racism can never be achieved ensures that dismantling is an endless process: There will always be something more to destroy. To those familiar with psychodynamic theory, this final defense of actively engaging in violating and spoiling even cherished (socially idealized) aspects of Western society is a defensive constellation called pathological envy.
In 1957, the British psychoanalyst Melanie Klein published her ultimate work Envy and Gratitude, in which she meticulously maps out the infant dynamics of greed (or appetite for pleasure), envy, and jealousy. She describes the conditions under which these dynamics result in pathological envy in adulthood and, conversely, how resolution results in gratitude and creativity. In this paper, she describes primal envy as “the angry feeling that another person possesses and enjoys something desirable—the envious impulse being to take it away or to spoil it.” Due to the frustration of not getting their desires satisfied, the subject projects destructive impulses into the Other, who is perceived to be withholding what the subject desires. Excessive envy is accompanied by excessively destructive and spoiling impulses. Once the admired/idealized Other has been devalued (even irrevocably destroyed), it is difficult for the subject to regard this spoiled object as valuable and obtainable again. The ultimate loss of the once-idealized Other leads to gratitude impairment.
Persons who have character constellations dominated by envy come across as bitter, demanding, entitled, insatiably dissatisfied, critical, nonreceptive to compliments, pessimistic, and aggressive. Since relief from frustration is obtained from destroying the envied object, the satisfaction of gratitude is not achieved. Instead, the pleasure from devaluation and sadistic spoiling of coveted resources (to the Woke: privilege, power, and normativity) becomes irresistible. The subject also enjoys the bliss of self-idealization as it is no longer subjected to the limitations, criticism, and judgment of the now-devalued Other. Granting the devalued Other even the slightest bit of accommodation could result in unbearable ambivalence. Such ambivalence would threaten the narcissistic perfection of the subject and would expose him to unbearable guilt. Instead, the person resorts to splitting and devaluation, as ambivalence would remind him of the once-enjoyed valued object of which he is currently deprived due to his own destructive violation of that object.
From the CSJT perspective, what is the coveted “something” that the Other possesses and withholds that justifies the envious destruction of the Other? It is, according to Douglas Murray, among other things, power:
“[E]verything is viewed solely through the prism of ‘power.’ Of course power exists as a force in the world, but so do charity, forgiveness and love. If you were to ask most people what matters in their lives very few would say ‘power.’ Nevertheless for a certain type of person who is intent on finding blame rather than forgiveness in the world…absolutely everything in life is a political choice and a political act.”
At a collective level, adherents of CSJT and their obsession with power manifests this psychoanalytic formulation of envy observably. Every individual is capable of disgust and bitterness due to his own privately-experienced frustrations and defeats. Crowded together around a socio-political cause like CSJ and fueled by narrative-creation and saturation from legacy media outlets, such individuals can easily align their grievances and demand the utter dismantling, destruction, and violation of an imperfect yet evolving system consisting of categories of people deemed unfairly advantaged, oppressively powerful, and protective of their privilege.
The aggressive utterances by CSJT activists and their destructive behaviour toward dissidents online, on university campuses, and at places of employment, belie their self-justifying claims that they repudiate hate, intolerance, and oppression. Such behavior betrays more a burning hatred toward those perceived to be privileged than concern for those perceived to be disenfranchised.
The Future of CSJT
As explained above, CSJT is a radical worldview under which more destructive trends can be expected. From a psychodynamic perspective, the CSJT worldview drives individuals to desire a particular resource: “systemic power.” CSJT has provided for the perpetual devaluation of the Other by formulating its utter intolerance of negotiation and accommodation of anything less than a commitment to destroy (or dismantle) Western civilization. Its totalizing nature drives it to ensure that not a single aspect of society is left untouched by its dismantling commitment. The outcome will be a three-fold experience: first, the enjoyment of brute primal pleasure from destroying the envied Other, primal narcissistic bliss of moral self-idealization, and, third, unbridled access to resources (“systemic power”) on CSJT terms with severely limited reflective ability.
A worldview so voracious for power, with no capacity for self-reflection, is a recipe for totalitarianism. CSJT’s failure to usher in a worldwide “anti-racist” utopia will not disillusion its adherents. Instead, hunger for power and the pleasure of envious destruction will greatly weaken restraint. Maintaining a de facto conviction that their own position is above all scrutiny, adherents of CSJT will scapegoat yet another devalued and oppressive Other as the reason for society’s disintegration, and the reason for Theory’s “failure” will be sought elsewhere. Theory will be elevated to scriptural status, and, as a result, it will be immune from criticism.
One extreme response to the failure of CSJT to turn the West into an “anti-racist” utopia will likely be a defensive maneuver familiar in psychoanalysis. Following Sigmund Freud’s observations in Group Psychology, devotees of radical religious and political movements identify with an external idealized individual or cause. The psychological investment into the idealized Other can be so extreme that, should the Other or their cause disappoint, devotees will much rather resort to masochism than to bear failure. It would, therefore, be no surprise if, even after the failure of CSJT to transform society into an “anti-racist” utopia, the most extreme adherents still seek a kind of heroic martyrdom in service of Theory.
Since CSJT is essentially hostile, envious, and ultimately necrophilic (destruction-oriented), what does the  alternative look like from a psychodynamic perspective?
The Burden of a Complex Reality
One of the greatest psychological milestones an infant achieves is to integrate good and bad within the Other and eventually the good and bad within the self. Prior to such an achievement, it perceives the Other entirely represented by its parts: the Other as the all-good breast, or the all-good hand, or the all-bad face, and so on. Healthy psychological development involves progressing from experiencing the world within this defensive split (and projectively engaging the world within this split) to gradually realizing that the same Other contains aspects that are both good and bad.
Developmental progress is, therefore, the infant’s ability more fully to perceive and respond to reality with all its complexity. This, undoubtedly, leads to greater restraint in instinctive responses. Within the more primitive split, the infant perceives and responds instinctively with destructive aggression, or with spoiling envy, or with engulfing adoration, etc., of the Other. More developed psychological representation of complex reality as a mixture of both good and bad aspects curtails such unbridled responses and leads to a more moderated affective response:
When the primitive split representation of the Other is not adequately resolved, instinctive responses to reality will be the default mode of response. When any collective (family system, community, subculture, or society as a whole) fosters and rewards such regressive representations of the world, it will be increasingly difficult for individuals, especially those growing up under such poorly-structured systems of representation, to advance to a worldview that more adequately takes into account the full spectrum of complexities. A worldview consistent with a primitive psychological system of representation would be one of in- and out-group arrangements, highly tribalized interactions, stereotypes, and gross generalizations.
Conclusion
According to psychodynamic theory, when the early, more primitive position of crude splits and projections have been adequately resolved, the individual will appreciate more naturally that every person is an imperfect mix of both good and bad traits. This reality is true not only of the Other but also of the self and of  society, as it is made up of such “blended” individuals.
Such a worldview would likely fall within the category of a common-humanity social justice, as opposed to the common-enemy worldview of CSJT. A common-humanity worldview recognizes the failures—even dismally so—in tribes’ and nations’ histories, but it also appreciates their successes and accomplishments. It celebrates these triumphs, while acknowledging and committing to learn from the failures. A common-humanity worldview appreciates that while past eras may have consisted of social structures where a specific gender or certain religions or races were more dominant than others, their failures cannot be ascribed to such categories, nor can specific categories be essentially evil or essentially good.
Contrary to the common-enemy worldview, the common-humanity worldview is hesitant to resort to simplistic categories of saints and monsters. It appreciates the complexity of humanity, of society, of communities and of individuals, and reflects this in interactions and expressions. The common-enemy approach in CSJT (and the accompanying wholesale designation of culpability and characterization attributed to certain races, a genders, sexual orientations, and cultures) is a regressive response to social challenges. A more adaptable and psychologically mature approach is a common-humanity worldview, positioned to improving developmental and social factors such as family dynamics, parenting styles, adequate basic education, and living environments.

One of the things that's thematically apparent from the Critical Theory-based, ahem, "scholarship" is the resentment and jealousy the authors hold towards the real domains, such as the sciences. Buried under the postmodern nonsense are petulant children who are envious of the fact they'll never produce anything as meaningful or important or even objectively useful. They could see how influential and well regarded the sciences are, but since they were incapable of participating or competing, they pivoted to attack at the level of epistemology - how we determine what's true - and demanded that it was bigoted for them to be excluded. That's why there's deranged, bogus fields and fraudulent papers like "Feminist Glaciology" and "Queer Agriculture."
It's not just Grievance Studies because the domains are based on hatred, envy and resentment of specific categories of people - men, heterosexuals, white people, healthy people, etc. - but because those embroiled in those areas are like the jealous Cain to the scientific Abel.

So I really like comic books as like an art form, media, form of visual storytelling and sequential art and I know many people know comics via Marvel and DC superheroes so i wanted to highlight some creative fan's who's artwork, character designs and or redesigns and Au's who I really like and i think deserve some love...
P.S Im super Sorry if some of the link's are not active but im having trouble putting in Links to instagram profile's
The Anti-Apocalypse Man
There headverse au of Dc characters is a bold , colourful , pop explosion that effusively mixes all of their favourite comics with their own creative touch , no shying away from non humanoid bodies with aliens or robotic character's , piercing , cool fashion sense, big capes, long jackets, crop tops, chunky boots and gloves, belts make up some of the common design elements in their designs. Check them out, they have a great sense of style that's wholly unique to them that screams too cool for school.
There's an obvious almost infectious sense of Love present for some of the characters that always manages to improve my mood. Another facet of the art is the great background lore for their au that creatively mashes together like dozens of cool ideas from the comic's like multiversity, all-star superman, scott synders justive league, the characters of jack kirby and steve orlando.
I would recommend you take a look If you like the works of Grant Morrison, Frank Miller's Dark Knight universe, 90s teen superheroes especially, you might find this right up your alley. Lots of designs for young justice, JSA, Doom patrol, superman and batman families of characters there's a lot to love about the pop, punk, bright saturated colours and almost collage artwork/pop art feel it gives off with the sheer visual kaleidoscope of awesomeness that is on display.

JENSCIN are two people
This indonesia pair of artists share some great artostic talent their desings or classic dc character's makes them look very human and have this comforting sense of warmth. Their artwork involving their original ideas for some adorable short little dc comics with a very huggable looking superman redesign that take inspiration from more classic golden age adjacent media look a lot of cool ideas about superman experience as an immigrant, like have you ever wondered what kryptonian food tasted like I didn't used to but now I do. An amazing take on an asian american lois lane, a 10/10 mercy design, Atlantienis having pitch black eyes like that of deep sea fish from living at great depths is an amazing detail. Have I mentioned they ahve put more thought, effort and love into everyone's Extraterestile cookie monster J'onn J'onzz then Dc has done in years please take some time to read Sons of Mars, their mars au lore is just excellent and their reinterpretation of mallifalak is so much better than what's previously been done with the character. Also not having the scientist who teleported John to earth be actually alive and part of his immediate social group is great. There way of blending sci-fi elements of DC stroies with a perspective focused on exploring character's unique cultural backgrounds is absolutely fascinating. 10/10 please check them out if you have the time.

Gabriel Larragán Villalobos
He is a Costa Rican Artist I found Via instagram, art style is very sharp line work, angular designs jaws and well defined musculature. Their colour work ranges from vibrant bright primaries or metallic golds highlighting darker colour palette featuring forest greens, dark blues. Wine red, blacks.
He has a lot of great marvel redesigns in their Au he created for their Spider-sona the Night spider universe with a amazing original avengers line up and outside of that some excellent x men character artwork ( glad to see someone else liked wolverine and the x-men young cast members as well), moon knight as the leader for the 'cult of knoshu'. His DC stuff is also really great, lots of very fun Bat family designs along with some dynamic and interesting new takes on Teen titans and the Super son's and a great Outlaws Au with red hood, Roy harper and kara as a rebellious punk found family is awesome. Their Nubia and Daina are very cool. Their Black canary design is just Great (short hair). Also check out his powerpuff girls and Ninja turtle stuff.

This Tumblr user's Artwork is really great in having warm tones and does redesigns for Dc characters such as the Justice League , JSA, JL international and teen titan's, DKR universe stuff. They do a very good job with clothes as well as musculature so their amazon sketches are really good, diana as a wrestler in the style of grappling wrestling they did historically in ancient greece is really fun idea, they also do a great job at non-human characters and their designs for atlanteans, starfire, trigon, martians are all appropriately horrifying in tjis artwork.
As fans I think we forget just how not like a person some of these characters should look, the scales/fins being part of aquamen rather then clothes is cool, some specific details i found i really liked were the dixie boots and retro S design for superman, diana's hair and more tiga like upper outfit, the big ears on their batman, the female flashes designs , clear glass on cyborg synthetic parts, that power girl design ( of several) with like the clunky mecha boots and gauntlets. The artists have a great use of colour, great understanding of anatomy, and some really good clothing designs. Fair warning some bare chests ( npth male and female) and some more gorey pic's among their work.

An artist I discovered via Instagram under the account name vnskecthes that has some great marvel redesigns and DC ones in between lots of commission work and OC sketches, using the likes of spider man, dr strange, black panther, iron man, captain america, ant man, shang chi ect. They offer a lot of variety as any single character focus piece has multiple designs presented, very slick artstyle with usually small colour palette for anyone, design keeps things nice and uniform, great texture on metal. Really cool mecha looking iron man stuff , and nice difference in masks for their black pattern designs, oni mask wolverine and daredevil is pretty cool. they done some DC resigns as well really like the No cape strong body armoured Martian manhunter,dr fate as a dog, satna with a little cape and glasses ( gives off very much a dork in private life vibes), fem flash with a mask, duel sword Wonder woman. A lot of influence from anime ,manga and video games for inspiration here that creates its own unique vibe.

Vinícius Lopez
This artist has a lot of great Redesigns. A good fantastic four redisings, a strong more stocky built version of susan storm, a reed with a clam smile and a good amount of grey hairs and a johnny a lopsided grin. Their x men redesigns are also pretty cool, their modern x men line up has this double line motif on cyclops, accents beat's lab coat and storms stockings mixed with bright colours makes it look very slick and striking, the classic x men line up has some practical looking suits and features a non-binary angel, his justice league redesigns are pretty cool I like the variance in body type and hair styles he has, also the dr fate design is way too attractive. His batman redesigns are pretty cool pinty little shoulders and full mask, jacket and goggles catwoman ( some pre-crisis red head jason love), teen titans redesigns are cool too, prosthetic looking leg cyborg, energetic beast boy, also both of his wonder woman designs go slap so hard! The original more canon adjacent one with the Dog tags and tie back hair is super cool but the later sketches of a tall, wild free flowing hair and BUILT like a brick house are also excellent.

Taku (@Yotakuboi)
Probably the artist with the least amount of artwork out at present but quantity does not equate quality. I found them on instagram as yotaku_boi , this artists has a frantic sort of energy to their art but crisp, clean line work effective matched with effective colour schemes and some really great character redesigns for spider man related characters, a more monster looking batman, a really cool catwoman design, the best drax design I have ever seen, a really interesting look for venom with a bulbous frog like tongue and black and white used to make a skeleton accents that remind me of a de los Muertos mask. Lot of his designs feel like they belong in an animated cartoon series and there is an obvious appreciation for a bit of a horror esthetique in some of his work.

Mike Becker
This artist most easily found on deviantart has a well proportioned that depicts almost Gabriel Ba esque art styles version of these characters very well, his use of bright colours and love of zany more cosmic, high flying silver age comic vibe is evident in every artwork especially some of his OC's , hes done art of the avengers, spider man, dr strange, fantastic four and a fairly extensive list of X men characters , he has also done Justice league, teen titans, legion super heroes. New gods, super pets and some DC rogues galleries. His artwork often features status effects around the characters such as radiating Kirby krackles of energy or surrounded by flames, he also often plays with detail on characters skin such as swirling moving of magma's arms or magic's metal arm or the tattoos he gives hawkwoman. He also seems to really love animals and that's always a plus. I don't care if it's silly if we are able to say a person can fly then why can't his dog also fly too.

For anyone who's a fan of thor or DC character's I would encourage you to take the time to check out this amazing artist. He has recently done DCtober an art challenge where people redesign/draw a character a day for a month all of which are very cool, the year before he did a Marveltober where he did the same thing although those designs are monochrome but still excellent.
There are many things I can point to as to what I enjoy in his designs his batgirl home made looking costume, how cartoonish Mr Miracle looks like he's trying to escape being two dimensional, the ocean colour scheme for his aquaman and the fiery colour scheme of his ares, he also has really cool designs for high tech armour on characters like black manta, blue beetle, big barda. He has also done art based on various IP's he doen designs based off the unfinished justice league mortal film film the 2000's, flashpoint universe characters, spiderman and spider verse and X-men with a EArth X design influence.

Oni18064
Where do I even begin to describe this artist. He has a constant output of new artwork everyday. I have been following for the past two or 3 years now and can definitively say that he loves art and is always improving his already amazing skills. His character redesigns mostly Marvel stuff although his old Dc redesigns are fun too and have a great Idea of giving each big character their own fifth dimensional imp, He's done about three maybe four rounds of redesigns at this point for a lot of the different ip's like X-men, spider man, fantastic four, captain america, hulk, thor, runaways, big hero six ect. The hero in question is a lot of their rogue's gallery and their allies.
His most recent has him doing different alternate universe to his overall AU version of marvel which has some interesting features to it such as mash up of new warriors with big hero six, happy hogan in a iron suit, black peter parker, with miles morales under the alias scarlet spider and ghost spider being the gwen clone from the original 70's clone saga story, fem captain america and falcon, monica rambeau as captain marvel with kamla as her sidekick spectrum, Nick coulson as Machine Man ( for my fellow agents of shield watchers I thought this was very clever). Overall great creative energy very well versed in both the comic's themselves and other related media such as recent video games or movies. The overall influences and desing elements are taken from all over showcasing both their immense creative and technical skills and their humbling love for these comic books in every piece of artwork they post.

latest fic recs:
(edit as of april 2022, which is literally over half a year after i made this asjdfkgh: okay so this has been in my drafts so long holy shit but i can vouch for most still :)! )
magic school au, tubbo centric, dad sparklez, everyone loves tubbo - very fun and chill, sone conflict but happy ending :)
clingyduo centric, dragon tommy, magic tubbo, oneshot - short and sweet, seemed pretty in character
reincarnation au with beeduo, clingyduo and crimeboys, tubbo centric, oneshot - makes me want to write this au it's so gOOD, author if you see this ily pls write more of it (edit: HOLY SHIT okay so turns out this is super popular now and no longer a oneshot (which i thought it was at the time sadjfvg) so i guess this aged well? the author sure did write more LMAO but yeah i read the rest of the fic and it just gets better and better, amazing quirkyduo characterisation stood out to me)
feral boys + fundy + wilbur, chatfic, romantic ig but plenty of friendships too - so many ships, lots of fun :D (edit: mainly romance stuff so probs not for most of my mutuals, iirc it's actually been massively edited since i last read it so idk how well it aged slkajcdfg)
clingyduo, oneshot - technically i don't agree with how some characters are portrayed, but it's still very sweet and a good read :) (edit: ah shit author sorry i was mean! it seems it was just in the tubbo-centric tag so i analysed it as a tubbling! reread it and it's a lovely little fic :D. are you an inniter btw)
karlnapity, quackity-centric, high school au - this was so goood!!! great build up and i loved it
tubbo-centric, spiderman au, 5+1 - hfkshend tubbo as the guy in the chair has never been better than in this fic, huge recommend to fellow tubbo enjoyers (also it's a series, with other works featuring other people in sbi!) (edit: I REMEMBER THIS FIC SO SO OFTEN IT'S SO GOOD LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST SUPERHERO AU TUBBOS and also the other characters are done pretty fucking well)
superpowers au, villain tubbo, hero sbi and ranboo, dadschlatt (but not in a /pos way) - yea okay this wasn't too bad i quite liked it, made me feel things. heavy on the beeduo more than other sbi+tubbo relationships but it's done in a balanced way i'd say. hug propaganda /pos (edit: this feels like an unjust finish bc imo i don't really love this as much as i must have when i put it on this list, so i'll give you guys one extra!)
(edit: FINAL FIC REC OF THE POST!
genuninely fucking ADORE this fic, it's a l'manburg members-centric young justice (superhero) au but semi chatfic style. i don't... think it's centric on any specific member tho which is pretty unique i love it a lot!
thanks for reading LMAO
(pls reblog so others can take a look at these fics!!! some of these have nowhere near enough comments and kudos for what they deserve and i can even vouch that this list doesn't include mutual recs i just think these fics are cool slakdfgbh))

Rowan Artair: Paladin for Curse of Strahd
Tumblr media
“If you can’t identify a clear right and wrong answer, you haven’t thought about it hard enough.”
(Image sources, clockwise: Joan of Arc by Anato Finnstark, righteous and purifying, Life on Earth by Andrew Crocker, guilt, armor, something holy inside you by @soapstore, helm, candles)
Rowan Artair is an unsettling man. With pale skin, white-blond hair, and faint pink fractal scars covering his face and arms, his ice-blue eyes are actually his darkest feature. He speaks slowly and in a voice that suggests that his mind is always somewhere to the left of the conversation--although his piercing gaze removes any question of his distraction.
Tumblr media
Rowan was a knight for a minor lord. He cannot now remember the lord he served. The knight who trained him is a fond faded memory of a beard and a laugh and bright-flashing armor. What Rowan does remember is the desperate night when he rode at full tilt through a storm, wind and rain whipping his face, chasing something--someone--he can’t remember--someone dangerous--when a blinding light surrounded him. When he came to, muscles still locked and twitching and half his body bruised from the hard fall, he was a different man.
The other knights told him the lightning took his color and his spark. Rowan could not say whether that was true. What he gained was religious conviction, strange new powers, and the absolute knowledge that he was responsible for ridding the world of evil.
Rowan believes that evil cannot be reasoned with or reformed--it must be crushed. He sees the world in moral absolutes and has no qualms about acting as judge, jury, and executioner. Even the other members of the Order of the Gauntlet sometimes shy from his zeal, if his quiet, exacting extermination can be called such.
Backstory
Rowan was the third son of a minor baron. With his oldest brother in line for succession and his middle brother off in the city studying magical theory, he was sent to be a page for the knights of a local duke when he was a child. He proved himself dedicated--his peers teased him for his seriousness, but the knights appreciated his work and even Lord Sutton took a liking to him. At the age of 14 he became squire to an older knight, Sir Leon Brooks. Brooks was like a father to him and taught him what it meant to be a knight: protection, honor, justice, and service to the less powerful.
By the time he was dubbed a knight, Rowan was a fearsome warrior, and he considered his fellow knights a truer family than his own blood. He had grown out of his seriousness somewhat and his compatriots knew him as bold, cheerful, and slightly showy. He existed completely in service to Lord Sutton’s household, and especially to his beautiful daughter Aurelia, who he made it his personal duty to protect. He was so dedicated to protecting his lord that he failed to hear the whispers of dissatisfaction from the people--that Sutton was less than honorable in his dealings, that he had knowingly ruined several families’ livelihoods, and even worse accusations hissed behind closed doors.
One fateful stormy evening, Rowan and the other knights were interrupted at supper by a piercing shriek. They ran to find Aurelia sobbing over the body of her father, the duke, whose throat had been slit. Aurelia managed to say something about a woman who spoke of revenge and disappeared as soon as they came. Righteous anger, more powerful than anything he had ever felt, flooded through Rowan.
The knights rode out into the storm to scour the grounds for the assassin. Rowan found a few muddy footprints near the keep and followed them into the forest, rain and wind whipping his face as he ploughed through the darkness. Laughter taunted him from between the trees. Lightning illuminated his path sporadically, and he didn’t notice until too late that he had cornered himself in a hollow too deep for his horse to continue.
When he turned to backtrack, a flash of lightning showed a young woman in a tattered dress standing in his path. Over the roaring of the storm, she cried the words that would have been burned into his memory were it not for what followed:
“You claim to stand for justice, yet you protect those who least deserve your allegiance! Your lord was a blight on this land and I have done more in removing him than you ever did in serving him! Until you learn the meaning of humility and empathy, you shall never again enjoy community, and your life shall be dedicated to the single-minded pursuit of justice!”
Rowan, who had been frozen by her words, realized that she meant to curse him and raised his sword to attack, but as he raised his sword she raised her hand and a bolt of lightning struck him into unconsciousness.
Post Campaign, Curse Broken
Appearance: dark hair almost to his shoulders, slightly tanned skin, dark blue eyes. Fairly square features. Most of his scars are gone, except for the burn scars on his right hand where the lightning struck him. He’s not towering, but he can make himself imposing when he wants. Early 30s by the time of the [redacted] Incident.
Tumblr media
After his curse is lifted, Rowan’s memories return, and he’s shell shocked for a while. His companions would find him almost as stiff and disconnected as before. It takes him some weeks to adjust to the guilt and loss from his old life.
He never quite returns to his old easygoing style, but he loosens up and is able to see the gray in issues again. He cracks more jokes, pokes more fun, and laughs once in a while. He still flinches at thunder.

During a social media sermon Jan. 12, Tory Lanez’s father revealed that his son has forgiven Megan Thee Stallion despite facing a lengthy prison sentence for her 2020 shooting.
On Thursday, Lanez’s father Sonstar Peterson took to Instagram to share a few thoughts about his son’s turbulent shooting trial and conviction. Peterson, a former pastor and ordained minister, said that he, Tory and other members of their family forgave Megan “a long time” ago for reporting Tory to the police over the shooting incident.
“This might come as a shock to many of you, but guess what?” he said in the video, which was reposted by The Shade Room. “Both my son, myself and others of our family have long decided that we are not going to hold any animosity against Megan Pete a.k.a. Megan Thee Stallion. We forgave that girl a long time ago. A long time ago because again we know that the principle of forgiveness is important to not be bound up with hatred, those things can cause diseases in the bones.”
Despite forgiving Meg, Sonstar Peterson says he will continue to fight for his son’s freedom
Further into his passionate sermon, Peterson talked about the importance of forgiveness and how its essential to protecting one’s spiritual and physical wellbeing.
“We know that the principle of forgiveness is important in order to cleanse one’s heart, to cleanse one’s soul and to not be bound up with hatred,” he continued. “Hatred, resentment, bitterness — those things can actually cause diseases of the bones, it has been proven. And it can cause sickness in your body because you’re holding onto something that is negative against the real life force in your life.”
As MADAMENOIRE previously reported, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted Dec. 23 of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. The hip-hop star faces up to 22 years in prison and deportation to his native Canada.
Peterson said that while he and Lanez have let go of any hatred towards Meg, he remains focused on fighting for his son’s freedom.
Sonstar Peterson launches into a fiery tirade after Tory Lanez’s guilty verdict
Peterson’s righteous social media video comes just weeks after he rattled the Los Angeles courthouse with an angry outburst when jurors found Tory guilty of shooting Megan. Outside of the courtroom, Peterson lit into Jay-Z, who manages Meg under his Roc Nation label, for allegedly influencing the outcome.
“I just stood here in this Los Angeles country and witnessed the worst miscarriage of justice that this world has ever seen,” Peterson shouted as a group of reporters stood around him. He went on to shame Meg’s attorney Alex Spiro, Roc Nation COO Desiree Perez, “and the whole wicked system of Roc Nation.” He then accused Jay-Z of bartering “the souls of young men.”

Tory Lanez is due back in court Feb. 28 for his sentence hearing. The hearing was pushed back to allow time for Lanez to find a new lawyer. Now, the rapper will be represented by David Kenner, the former lawyer of Suge Knight, Snoop Dogg and several other notable hip-hop stars, according to The Root.
Previously, Lanez was represented by George Mgdesyan.
