I couldn’t afford the one on Taylor’s website so I made my own for my mom for Mother’s Day. (And yes I am aware that the lyrics are wrong. But oh well, she will love it anyway) 🥰 I’m very proud of it. @taylorswift
What’s up, guys? Just checking in and hoping that you’re doing well on this Friday.
As for me, I’ve had off from work since Monday so I’ve been just chilling and hanging out. I started reading “Normal People” by Sally Rooney and I really love it so far. If you’ve read it, you’ll know what talking about, but I’m up to the part where Marianne and Connell see each other for the first time in months at a college party. It was so crazy how when they were in high school, they sorta were together but maybe not officially and only they and Connell’s mom knew about it. I suppose it was a little odd/ironic for them to be together since they were from different social circles but they shouldn’t have had to hide their relationship. If his friends were real friends and her mom truly cared about her, they wouldn’t have judged. Just my thoughts. I’m really curious to see how their relationship continues to evolve over time.
On another topic, I was thinking about how I’m so used to calling Taylor’s first album “debut” that sometimes I forget it’s not called that and actually called “Taylor Swift” (imagine when the re-recordings from it come out and Taylor says “Taylor Swift (Taylor’s version) is here” 😆)
3 years ago today, Taylor Swift began touring for her album sixth studio album, reputation.
The tour began May 8th 2018 and concluded November 21st 2018, consisting of 53 shows and over 2 million attendees. It grossed just below $350m in revenue, is Taylor's most successful tour to date, and the highest grossing concert tour in US history.
It went on to win many "Tour of the year" accolades.
Supporting acts included Charli Xcx, Camilla Cabello, and Broods.
A Netflix recording of the live October 6th show in Dallas, Texas, was made into an official tour-movie documenting the experience of the reputation stadium tour to fans across the world who couldn't make it.
The tour also spawned many iconic moments such as Taylor singing "Getaway car" in the rain, Taylor pointing at Joe when singing "Gorgeous" and "Delicate", as well as the performance of a surprise song at every show.
Reputation marks a huge turning stone for Taylor as it was her last album to be recorded on a major label - and given her complete change in attitude after it, it shows a transitional period in her life and image.
...and it's 2:00 a.m. and I'm cursing your name...
...so in love that you act insane...
...and that's the way I loved you...
...breakin' down and coming undone...
...it's a roller coaster kinda rush...
...and I never knew I could feel that much...
...and that's the way I loved you
Just thought I'd do a fun little non-story post to get my head back in the game after my break. Can you tell what I've been listening to on repeat while I've been gone? 😂 It came on in the car and I just immediately thought of my fave little dramatic trio 😘 so I had to do something about it!
All that to say- official story posts are coming back on Monday! I think I'll be doing recaps over the weekend to catch us all up with what happened while I was gone, but we'll be back in sync come Monday! Thank you so much for putting up with my little spontaneous hiatus 😂 on the plus side- my room looks great now! 😂😂
