With everything that’s going on in the FNAF community right now, particularly the Fanverse community, I think this is an important video to hear:

Happy 3rd anniversary since the announcement of the Fazbear Fanverse initiative! 🎉 🎂
It's been a bumpy ride, a bunch of things have happened and changed in 3 years, but is still present, active, and still being an amazing opportunity 💕

Here's my current understanding of the FNAF multiverse, because there's NO way it ISN'T a multiverse:
The FNAF games are the primary universe
The Silver Eyes trilogy is another universe
The Fazbear Frights books are another universe
The Tales from The Pizzaplex books are in the same universe as the games, surprisingly
The FNAF movie (with two possible upcoming sequels) is yet another universe
The Five Nights at Candy's series and POPGOES Evergreen (both from the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative) are part of the same universe, an alternate timeline where only FNAF1, FNAF2, and FNAF3 are canon
The rest of the games in the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative are also separate universes

just wanted to clear up a misconception I see people make every once and awhile
Scott did not transfer the rights to the FNAF franchise to Steel Wool, or anyone.
Yes he has technically stepped down as main developer and from interacting with the fanbase for the most part but he still retains ownership, and makes the broad creative decisions (and story) in every release. He trusts Steel Wool, and others who work on the franchise to make their own choices but if anything wasn't to his liking he would tell them. This stands for the games, the books, and the movie (he wrote the first version of the script and approved later revisions, as well as being on set)
The only exception to this is the Fazbear Fanverse initiative games, which Scott gives nearly full creative control to the developers, afterall they started as fan games, the devs should be allowed to make the game as they see fit.
Scott said he will give the franchise to someone at some point, and it will be someone he trusts, but he has not made any announcement about such a change taking place.

What do you think about the fazbear fanverse initiative?
I don't know what that is and if I'm being honest with you the window has kind of closed on my level of interaction with FNAF, which wasn't even that much.
I had a moment in my life where I watched Markiplier play through everything up to Sister Location, including four or five fan games. I was never subbed to him, but I would check up on his channel every now and then. Then Markiplier came out in support of Pewdiepie after one of Pewdiepie's many, many, many controversies. I stopped watching Markiplier after that.
I owned a couple FNAF games but given I'd watched Mark play those inside and out, it seemed a little superfluous to do it for myself. According to steam, I have put 42 minutes in to FNAF 1 and 21 minutes in to FNAF 3.
When Scott Cawthon was found out to be a republican donor and his response was "I always knew I'd be canceled some day, so bye", I stopped paying attention to FNAF. Entirely. I haven't looked at, thought about, or engaged with FNAF since then.
I was never that deep into those games. They had some cool ideas under the surface most people my age probably glossed over but it was very easy to close the door on that stuff for me. I was not in the community, I did not have friends who cared about or talked about it, nothin'. It was a fast, clean, easy break.
Glancing at a wiki, I guess it's cool Scott tried to embrace and legitimize community creations, but that's not my wheelhouse anymore. We're drowning in horror games right now and we really don't need FNAF anymore. Or, at least, I definitely don't.

If there are official merch for FNF, do you think mods would join the fun too? Like an FNF version of the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative?

The fangames... huh? I missed a lot didn't I!
Yeah. Scott Cawthon signed a deal with some popular fan-game developers to kinda incorporate their fangames into the franchise as official non-canon spin-offs, so that they can release their games on Steam and get paid off of them, have merch produced by official companies, and get ports to console and mobile.
Three new games have already been released under this "Fazbear Fanverse Initiative" label, and there's four others in development. Plus releases of three existing games. There was also a whole official remake of the original FNAF game made by one of these fangames but that got cancelled after he badmouthed the franchise and said some toxic stuff on Twitter (though they did end up publishing a found footage mini-series based on the remake).
Woah...

Honestly, even with what I just learned, I'm still hoping that the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative succeeds.
Not because I want Scott to get away with supporting Trump, but because I want the war on fandom to END!
Seriously, could you imagine if NINTENDO started to officially endorse fangames instead of pulling the plug on them?
Honestly, I'd LOVE to live in that world!
I'm just a lot less excited for Security Breach than I used to be...

“Freddy wakes up to discover that William Afton caused a rift in time that made all dimensions and timelines merge together. He also discovered that his friends, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy were kidnapped and brainwashed by Afton to be his slaves. He must team up with Candy the Cat, Popgoes the Weasel, and Flumpty Bumpty to stop William from taking control of the universe, and even time itself.”
