"Vulgarity, faultfinding, and evil speaking of others are all too common. Too many pundits, politicians, entertainers, and other influencers throw insults constantly. I am greatly concerned that so many people seem to believe that it is completely acceptable to condemn, malign, and vilify anyone who does not agree with them. Many seem eager to damage another’s reputation with pathetic and pithy barbs!
Anger never persuades. Hostility builds no one. Contention never leads to inspired solutions. Regrettably, we sometimes see contentious behavior even within our own ranks. We hear of those who belittle their spouses and children, of those who use angry outbursts to control others, and of those who punish family members with the 'silent treatment.' We hear of youth and children who bully and of employees who defame their colleagues.
My dear brothers and sisters, this should not be. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are to be examples of how to interact with others—especially when we have differences of opinion. One of the easiest ways to identify a true follower of Jesus Christ is how compassionately that person treats other people."

In the 26th chapter of the Tao Te Ching, you're being advised to maintain a sense of serenity regardless of what you may see taking place around you.
Moreover, you're being told that the true master knows that the ability to stay calm is always located within.
From this perspective, there's no need to assign responsibility to others for how you feel.
Even though you may live in a world where blame and faultfinding are endemic, you will own your feelings and actions.
You will know that circumstances don't determine your state of mind, for that power rests with you.
When you maintain a peaceful inner posture, even in the midst of chaos, you change your life.

Some thoughts came to mind.
Just because some people don't hit their children doesn't mean they're unruly, let alone lack discipline. Is that all they ever think about when it comes to children? "If they're not obedient, soulless automatons catering to my impossible ass standards that I'll never uphold myself, or displease me in any way, I will assault them." Sadly, these are the same fuckers who think the world is going downhill because adults don't hit "dIsCiPLinE" children enough. Jesus, fuck, these people. They never cease to trip me up.
Firstly, why do you want to assault children so badly? Why do you wear that shit as a badge of honor? What I don't seem to understand is: why do certain people think that kids will run all (or rule) over them if they don't have a violent authoritarian approach towards children? It's like they're swinging from one extreme to the next. Inside their minds, there's only two alternatives: be an authoritarian or be permissive. Nevermind the fact that there are at least 4 parenting styles. It wasn't that long ago plenty of men said the same shit about women, and treated them like second class citizens. News Flash, more than enough of them still do to this day. The same applies to those who hold similar attitudes towards black people & people of color.
In a way, it gives me a bit of a window into what these faultfinders are like. Like why do authoritarians feel threatened by children so much? I'm not sure how to word this. What exactly do they mean by run all over them in the first place? Last time I checked, adults are the one with unchecked power. They project that misuse of said power onto children. The latter party still has yet to learn, process and respond to their emotions and surroundings in healthy ways. Whereas adults have decades of self exploration and practice (or lack thereof) to hone their emotions.
Something's wrong with your mindset If you perceive a small child, who's dependent on you for survival, wielding the alleged power to that of an imaginary tyrant. Again, kids have no means of self-defense, and still has a lot to learn about themselves (& the world). I seriously doubt grounded adults attack people weaker than themselves as an effective strategy to solve a problem. It all sounds like they only care about power and control. At this point, I don't care if this is a shaming post. It's all too maddening.

Least Amount Of Stupid
“Whoever is simple (easily led astray and wavering), let him turn in here! As for him who lacks understanding, [God’s] Wisdom says to him, Come, eat of My bread and drink of the [spiritual] wine which I have mixed. Leave off, simple ones [forsake the foolish and simpleminded] and live! And walk in the way of insight and understanding.” Proverb 9:4-6AMPC
Have you ever done something stupid? After we’ve seen the end result of what we did, we hold our heads in our hands, moaning, ‘what have I done.’ Growing up, Dad often quoted, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 14:12ESV. The way of the lie is so easy to follow. Where we are in history, the popular way, leads to death and destruction.
I had a crazy notion, when I became born again in Christ— automatically I was wise. Yet I can look back over the years and see stupid mistakes. Time and again, Jesus has had to bail us out financially. Decisions made concerning our children didn’t bear good fruit. Where did the frequent wrong ideas come from? Years of not consulting Christ, instead doing things the way that ‘felt right.’
Changes had to take place in me. “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding” Proverbs 9:10AMPCAlthough I loved God, I hadn’t revered Him enough to begin seeking consistently His ways. Too much was done on the move without prayers for instructions.
Instructions are given in James 1:5-8AMPC “ If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides]” James 1:5-8AMPC. My prayers became, ‘Lord I don’t know how, give me wisdom.’ Changes began to form in the results of decisions made.
When we waffle back and forth between two ideas we’re “simple.” The GNT of our text reads, “ignorant people.” Kenneth Copeland translates this scripture as ‘stupid.’ Bishop’s Bible 1568 writes “Who so is without knowledge,” sounds like Copeland might be right. Wavering back and forth is stupid and I’ve been there.
Most of the devotionals, the Lord leads me to write, are about— ‘I’ve tried the wrong way. God’s way is better.’ At my age, I want the least amount of ‘stupid’ as I can possibly have. In our society today, Believers can afford ‘stupid’ even less than in years past. We’re to be as little Jesus Christs walking around doing what Jesus did. There’s not one verse indicating Jesus did things ignorantly. He was always on top of every situation. Make a pledge to yourself today to seek God’s wisdom before finishing your next sentence; completing your next chore, or doing anything. Or not. It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Almighty God, God of wisdom thank You for making wisdom available to us. We don’t have to live in a world of constant mistakes. All we need to do is ask You for wisdom. Lord, please give us the wisdom we need, in the name of Jesus Christ.

"Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage."

Daily Devotionals for April 10, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 14:3-5(KJV): 3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. 4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox. 5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Thought for the Day
Verse 3 - In these verses are listed three wise observations. This first verse tells us how to recognize a foolish person. When you hear prideful remarks coming out of a person's mouth, you can expect that person to be foolish. In contrast, a wise person will utter things that will actually preserve them. Many people's problems can be traced to foolish speech. In our society, we call it "mouthing off." It is wise to keep one's mouth shut under certain circumstances. One can discern what is in a person's heart by what comes out of his mouth: "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (Luke 6:45).
"These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their advantage" (Jude 1:16, NIV).
Verse 4 - The second observation has to do with labor. The lesson we can learn from this proverb is that if we desire to have an increase in any of our endeavors, it will take strength and labor, and it will also call for provision for the animals (the workers). One must provide feed for his oxen in the crib (feeder) so that they can eat well and perform properly. Also, the stall of the oxen will require a cleaning, if they are kept around to do any work. Work is not always pleasant, and is sometimes messy before the job gets completed. The modern work ethic is somewhat distorted in some people's minds since some believe that work should never be unpleasant! With this kind of attitude, very little work would be accomplished. The Bible tells us that whatever we are working at, we should give it our best effort and work unto Him, and not men. If we do this, God Himself will reward us: "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free" (Ephesians 6:5-8).
Verse 5 - This last verse refers to liars. A liar does not make a good witness, since he will lie to cover his guilt. In contrast, a faithful witness will tell the truth even if it does not benefit him. Truthfulness should be found in all of God's children. We are to be witnesses to the world and if we are dishonest, we destroy that witness.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your love and patience with all of us as Your children. Father, we ask You to deliver us from pride and foolishness and give us Your wisdom. Give us the strength to do all that is before us each day. May we do our work as unto You and not unto men? May our labors count for something. Let us lead good and pure lives before those whom we live and work with. Lord, deliver us from the temptation to lie. May truthfulness always be found upon our tongues. Help me to be a good witness to all that I come in contact with. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Our primary focus is to be on the Lord and the things of Heaven.
The Lord is after our communion. If He has our communion then He has us. In the same way, the enemy knows this so he will try to draw people into a communion with himself. This is why Paul says, "What fellowship or communion has this with that?" (2 Corinthians 6:14)
How many times do thoughts come, attempting to take you down a path that you know is the wrong path? It could be as simple as complaining, grumbling or faultfinding.
Temptation ushers you into a subtle luring to a different direction. For those who don't know God, these thoughts are normal life; but for those who have given their lives to God these kinds of thoughts shouldn't be a way of life but something attempting to COME FROM THE OUTSIDE IN.
Our time is valuable and we want to use that time as an opportunity to increase our spiritual momentum to dive deeper into the purpose of God for our life so we are adept at fruit bearing that remains for His Kingdom.

Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.” Acts 8:20-23
Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.
12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. { laura harrier, 35, cis woman, she/her } We are so glad to see you safe, QUEEN/SPOUSE TO THE REIGNING RULER ASALI BADI of EGYPT ! It’s dangerous out in the world these days, but I hear that you are UNWAVERING and ELOQUENT enough to handle it. Just don’t let your DISHONESTY bring you down! Stay on your guard, because with your secret being at risk for exposure, you wouldn’t want everyone to find out YOU'VE TAKEN YOUR SISTER'S IDENTITY.
side note : she's gonna be referred by her sister's name ( asali ) instead of her real name kahili for my own sanity
name : kahili asali badi nee tba title : queen of egypt former princess of country tba birthday : july 1st family : asali ( twin sister , deceased ) , aziz ( younger brother ) name tba & name tba ( parents ) orientation: bisexual traits : practical, rational, eloquent, dishonest, envious, competitive character inspo : zuko ( atla ), amy march ( little women )
languages : tba mbti : tba temperament : moral allignment :
background ( death tw )
since you were young, you’d always wish you were more and less like you. there i softness in your features, in the way your eyes would crinkle so slightly like that of your sister, yet you know that your heart would never bear the same warmth, nor would anything ever change that. instead there are only two vessels sitting in your heart : envy or admiration ; and you don’t know which one to press. you know that others adore your sister and you’d always ever be the shadow of her. where she is aspiring you’re opportunistic, where she is smart, you’re a faultfinder. whatever you do, whatever interest you’d pick up for her and not yourself, she’d always be better. jealousy has poisoned your heart long time ago, had pushed away the love you feel for your sister and sometimes you ask yourself if it has been lost forever. when in a blink of an eye the person you couldn’t decide whether you loved or not is gone. the lucky child who always seemed like someone untouched by mortality taken away by something as dull and unspectacular like an illness. sorrow filled with anger are staining your tears. she left you with all that fury and desperation and now when she’s gone you don’t know who you are. but you’ll never find it out. instead, your father has finally taken notice of you. not because he finally sees something in you but because he sees his golden child in you. he hopes that no one will notice, that the betrothal his country needs won’t fall through. you agree, not because of him, a man who’d turned you so bitter but because you want to be usefu for your country, even if it’d be the last time. when the funeral is held, it is not your sister who is buried but you. at least for once you see your father crying bitter tears for you. in egypt you take the place which was never meant for you, play the role of someone you wished so long to be. even after her death, you still find yourself in her cage only that it was you who swallowed the key.
