Recently saw a post that was fat positive, only for it to devolve into making fat people that are on their "50th fucking futile" try at losing weight (a direct quote) not to make comments that they are trying to lose weight.
Yes, I know the point of the post is to say "Bodies that are fat deserve to be respected like thin bodies". I 100% agree with that. I am fat. I am considered morbidly obese. I want to be respected just Luke my thin friends. However, I also want to be respected for my choice in bettering my health and body by losing weight in a healthy way. I don't want to weigh 426 (now 413 but that is besides the point) for the rest of my life. It is not sustainable. It is killing my body, ruining my joints, and preventing me from living the life I want to live.
Respect all bodies. Thin ones, fat ones, in between one's, one's that are trying to gain weight, and ones that are trying to lose weight. Don't boil down people's attempts to lose as "futile". Maybe that person is having a hard time with losing, but that doesn't give you the right to degrade them like that.
My point is, if you are going to be body positive, don't put another person down just because they aren't following along with exactly what you want. Body positivity is important for everyone, big or little, we all have our struggles. Learn to be more compassionate with your words because I have been there. I have been on my "50th futile attempt" to lose weight. I'm finally losing now.
And you know what? I LOVE YOU FAT BODIES. I LOVE YOU THIN BODIES. I LOVE YOU BODIES TRYING TO LOSE. I LOVE YOU BODIES TRYING TO GAIN. I LOVE YOU BODIES THAT ARE HAPPY AS YOU ARE. I LOVE YOU BODIES.

Some benefits to being fat that i've identified in my fat life:
very soft body for cuddling/hugging
extra buoyancy, will always float
sometimes you jiggle and that can be an enjoyable sensory experience
i don't care if you're jacked, i will always beat you in weight, i can take you down just by falling
extra padding to protect you when getting injured and more to sustain you when very ill
wearing bigger sizes of clothing means you have more surface area for designs/text. i can fit entire glossy jpgs across my chest without having to shrink them, 4k screen-printing
most people already think you look bad just for existing in a fat body, so take that as an opportunity to free yourself from arbitrary rules about how to dress "for your body." Wear what you want for you, they're never going to like it anyway.

Can i just
Fucking rant
I fucking hate social media
Especially tiktok/instagram anything that functions like that
Because of how fat bodies are presented and treated
Either its about "how many sizes you can go down"
Or its glamorizing fat bodies(im not say fat bodies aren't good to see, or shouldn't be normalized, they definitely are normal and i love seeing bodies like mine)
But it turns into this
"How can i change my appearance to justify my existence and make people like me"
Its "how can i change the way i dress to better suit my figure or hide my body type"
Or "how can i dress my body up"
And once again im not saying what you think i am, i love seeing people be confident in there bodies, i love seeing the outfits and the fits.
But this is social media we are talking about, so there is a certain, "im gonna hide this part i dont like" or this " i just watched this tiktok of someone my size getting ready in this amazing outfit, and i feel this sudden need like i need to dress that way"
If that makes any sense, im sick and have been up several hours and in pain so its not gonna be clear
But my point is, i want to be in my body without having to worry about what it looks like constantly or feel as though somehow im missing something, but social media and looks are such a big part of todays world there is no escaping it and its so tiring.
I just want to see fat bodies be and exist without the pressure of presenting them a certain way to be more likeable.
