Letter #152
Dear Tori,
I found out about your music last year through Pentatonix and I’ve been hooked ever since! You’re such an amazing human being and I love how you stay true to your faith no matter what.
I love all of your lyrics are so meaningful and relatable. You’ve inspired me to start learning guitar. You’ve also helped me put my focus on God more because I started to walk away from my faith just before I found you. I saw how strong your faith was and it helped me realize that I was making friends with the wrong people.
You also helped me start to get out of my shell and become more confident in myself and I’m not so nervous around people anymore, and I think a big part of it was seeing you’re confidence and how you embrace your awkwardness. I really hope I get to meet you in person some time.
I love you and I’ll always be a huge fan! Thanks for all the inspiration, and I hope you keep being you and inspiring others! <3

Ensemble Stars on Stage Fanletter Project
As I (miraculously) managed to hit for a ticket for the stage, I’m now ready to open up my fan letter project. I did the same thing for the last stage and I was really thankful that so many people sent me letters to pass onto the staff, so I hope you guys can make it just as successful again the second time round.
Here is the information (basically copied and pasted from last time but I changed a few things so please read it carefully.
As I will be going to the show in person, I’d like to help anyone who wishes to write a letter to one of the cast members by offering to receive them and put them in the present box at the venue. Actors really appreciate receiving letters from fans and I think they would be especially happy to know that people are supporting them outside of Japan. I’m going to be writing two or three myself, so I’d love to have more from other people to add to the collection. You can send the letter directly to me, and can be sure the cast will receive it. Some of the cast even post pictures of the gifts/letters they receive, so you may find yours ends up on one of those.
Here are a few notes:
Please write the letter in Japanese or English. I don’t know the extent of the cast’s English ability but most of them should be able to read simple English. If you can write in Japanese or have someone who can translate for you, then that is of course a good option. If you need help translating, or would like me to provide a Japanese translation of your letter, you can ask me, although my Japanese is not perfect so I cannot guarantee a perfect translation.
I would prefer not to pass along gifts for the cast, but if there is something you would really like to give them, then please tell me what you are planning and I will let you know if I can accept it (the venue/staff have rules as to what they can and cannot receive, so I need to make sure I’m not breaking these rules).
Artwork is very much okay. I’ve noticed cast from stages receive a lot of fan art of the characters they are playing, and really like receiving this stuff. We seem to have a few artists following the community, so by all means, go ahead!
I would much prefer that you send me physical letters rather than scans. While I can accept scans if absolutely necessary, last time the quality of the prints wasn’t that great and I’d much prefer the cast receive something that is of the best possible quality. There is plenty of time so there shouldn’t be any issues with being able to send me things on time.
If you need help with what to write, I wrote a blog post a while back about writing fan letters. You can see that post here: https://tsuppashire.wordpress.com/2016/06/10/how-to-write-to-your-favourite-actor/
Make sure you write the name of the person the letter is for clearly on the envelope. Writing in either kanji, hiragana or romaji is fine, but please make sure it is clear who the letter is for to ensure it gets to the correct place.
With that, here is the process for sending the letter…
You can let me know you’re planning on writing a letter/ask for advice/anything else.
Once you have written the letter, let me know and I will give you my address in Japan. If you wish me to provide a translation do not seal the letter as I will place it inside alongside your English version.
Send the letter to me, and I will let you know when I receive it.
I’ll take the letters I’ve received and drop them in the present box at the venue and I’ll update here once I’ve done it.
I really want to receive all submissions by September 9th at the latest as I am watching the show on the 13th, but please try and get them in as soon as you can. If you need me to translate anything please send them to me ASAP. I look forward to receiving your submissions. :D
