D:BH Tarot Cards "zine"

I got the pleasure to be part of the team that made this project a reality. What started as me fangirling on the side ended in a tight knit little community where I was able to paint 2 of the cards.

I was in charge of the design for the Back of the Cards and the Five of Wands!

The Five of Wands is a card about conflict, competition ,and rivalry so I painted Daniel!!

The realism got very side tracked by my demand for more glow but I don't totally hate it. It fought me a good but I wrangled it back into position ahah

And for the Back of the Cards, I just wanted to highlight the ribbon of fate and the mix of their respective differences. I went a bit more traditional since my fave part of cards is always the classy blues and golds.

G-Dragon.... Drug Abuse Scandal (Tarot Reading)

(This is all alleged, since the court is involved this warning is necessary, for entertainment purposes only)

He was around a lot of influential people and celebs that were partaking in dark things and he may have started hanging out with these ppl around the peak of his career/popularity, during big bangs hey day (I heard "fantastic baby" so likely around that era was when he was hanging out with these prominent ppl). This energy reminds me of the movie Scarface, in which Tony was at first doing well, making tons of money, sleeping with beautiful women and just living the life. Its when he started getting high on his own supply that his life started turning to shit. (Connect the dots)

His partying and messing around helped to propel this habit as well. He had a lot influence/power so its likely he removed the ppl out of his life that dare to question his lifestyle or he ignored them or ppl didn't bother to try to oppose him.

He has some mental woes that haunt him and childhood traumas (associated with being a child star). This energy also reminds me of Disney child stars that get chewed up and spit out by the industry then turn to a dark and destructive way of living due to it.

I'm getting a strong vibe of someone that loves him and wants better for him intervening in this situation (possibly the one getting the law involved)

One thing I will say is some ppl or somebody in his life is either going to be speaking up for money or keeping quiet for money (and its not in his favor)

What he wishes to say to the public?

He wishes his fangirls were to be charmed and attracted to him like they were in the past. Like how obsessive and in love with him like they were when big bang was in there prime. Its like he wants that hive mentality from them so that they ignore what's coming out and be on his side

He wants to steal peoples attention away from this scandal

He also wants the public to know that he's practicing his religion more and getting into spirituality

He also wants to appeal to westerners and get them on his side or be able to prosper in the west if Korea ostracize him (especially if he was smoking marijuana, he knows the West doesn't shame those who smoke it and its legalized in some places so he wants the Western media to cover this scandal and side with him)

Tarot Readings: The Star (Part 3)

Some headcanons I have about 3taro.

His English was not great in SDC, this is part of why he comes off so rough and relies on movie one-liners so much.

A bit more artsy than he lets on. Sketching, fashion... low-key the man finds it easier to express himself in these ways than through words.

Continuing from above: he hates loud noises, but loves music. He has his father's ear.

He was not that close with Joseph prior to SDC. Joseph demands respect solely because of his age, and angsty teenage Jotaro thinks that's bullshit. By the end of their journey, they formed an unbreakable bond.

His father being away so often made him feel the need to become "the man of the house". The pressure he put on himself to fill these shoes is part of why he became a delinquent.

Growing up in Japan in the 80s, he was a victim of xenophobia due to his American heritage. Defending his mom's honor is the #1 reason he got into fights as a teenager.

As an only child, Jotaro hasn't yet learned how to handle criticism well. This is Reason #2. Do not slander this man unless you can back it up, or he will throw hands.

Speaking of, you know who taught him to fight? Joseph. Old man regrets it just a bit.

His birthday falls on Valentine's Day, a fact he is extremely reluctant to share. Think of how his fangirls would react!

I headcanon that Joseph and Polnareff taught him how to drive during their trip to Egypt. Just the boys on an abandoned road, with some down time and a beater car.

Like many boys his age, he started lifting weights to attract girls. He discovered that a) girls are annoying gtfo, and b) it's a great outlet for him. Man loves his fitness.

He will not start dating until after high school. High school girls ain't it for him. He needs somebody who is calm and not too shy to speak to him.

How did Adachi's Lust arcana become Hunger?

Gonna save you all a read by preemptively answering "idklol". Sure doesn't stop me from typing about it tho. 🤡

Adachi's transformed social link rank 8 arcana is Lust, card XI of Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot deck. Lust isn't actually written in English in the Japanese game or design works or guide. But we know it's Lust because Persona 3/4 use names from the Thoth tarot deck for their extra arcana beyond the initial 22, Adachi's is specifically named 欲望 (the Japanese translation for card XI in the Thoth tarot), it has the same numbering as Lust in the Thoth deck (XI), and the in-game tarot card art was certainly inspired by the Thoth tarot's Lust (Mother Harlot and the 7 headed beast).

The art of Adachi's Lust deviates from the Thoth version. It looks like Mother Harlot is about to be devoured by the 7 headed beast rather than being in control of it. Perhaps the change to the art is to reflect Adachi's character and where his Fool's Journey (or Fool's Errand?) ended. What I really mean by this is that the woman on the card thus represents Adachi which would then mean that Adachi is being woman coded even on his own tarot card. The "Adachi is woman coded" agenda continues. So glad Atlus has my back on this one.

The English game appears to have translated 欲望 as Hunger instead of using Lust from the pre-existing Thoth tarot names. This seems odd because in P3 and P4, both Aeon and Universe use the Thoth tarot's already existing names. And this is despite the Japanese term for the Aeon arcana (永劫) being something that could be translated one million billion ways too. Anything that's a synonym for eternal is fair game.

I think the connection to the Thoth deck was understood for Aeon, but the connection was not understood for Adachi. Guess it got lost as it was technically a ENG -> JP -> ENG translation, and it ended up as Hunger in Golden. This matters to me because I'm a fangirl... Of course I want my blorbo to have a horny sounding arcana. Duh.

Frederator Studios’ Cooper Nelson checked in with Elyse Castro, creator of “The Summoning,” the newly released GO! Cartoons short on Cartoon Hangover, to ask a few burning questions. Let’s see if her answers are equally on fire.

Elyse Castro created “The Summoning,” about Claire, a witch, and her cat Edgar, on a quest for a missing spell ingredient. When I asked her our usual opening question—“Where did you study animation?”—Elyse just chuckled.

“Can’t answer that one,” she explained, “I didn’t!”

Rebellious against the ‘usual,’ Castro, of Brisbane, Australia, is a prolific creative, with experience ranging from playwriting to comics to taxidermy—she recently gave blacksmithing a go. Below, she doles out the deets on “The Summoning,” and leads us down her windy path to cartoon-creating.

So what did you study in school?

I went to uni for theater and visual art, but halfway through got really into the culture of tattooing, and became a tattoo apprentice. My Catholic parents were horrified. I was a tattoo artist for several years, then cooled off it—partly because of a hurt wrist, partly because I was tired of people’s shit tattoo ideas.

I can imagine. So then what’d you get up to?

I was doing freelance comics, some fine art, but also studied to become a drama teacher. I was frustrated about the neglect of arts and theater education in Australia, and decided to quit harping about the problems and lend a hand to the solutions.

Do you enjoy teaching?

I love connecting with the kids. And it’s creative—I teach at an all boys school, so I often write us alternative plays to fit them better, like our own version of “Robin Hood”. It’s a lot of laughs—I love making people laugh.

Is that why you wanna make cartoons?

Oh yeah – it’s always been a big motivation for me. My biggest goal in life all through growing up, and even now, is to make my sister laugh. It isn’t too hard, she’s thinks I’m a riot. She ended up becoming a research scientist, while I’m an adult entertained by Yo Gabba Gabba.

I respect that. So then what inspired “The Summoning”?

Certainly my maniac cats [see Winston below]. And actually, a lot of experiences with my sister. Voices we’d use, stupid things we’d do. And some gross stuff. Like, the whole bit with the dandruff in “The Summoning” was based on a time that I picked a big flake of the stuff off her head. I remember it now, a nice, sunny day…

Aha, gross! Gotcha. What mattered to you while developing your own short?

I thought about what I wanted to see in a cartoon—I’m drawn to the macabre, odd stuff, like my taxidermy. I’m very crafty, always making things, which lends itself to a witch character. And tone-wise, I wanted to keep it real, even have nuggets of education. Like in “The Summoning,” I tucked in a great factoid about poo consumption in the animal kingdom.

Sounds about as educational as a Frederator show gets!

I still can’t believe I have a project with Frederator. It was my childhood dream to make a cartoon, and I’m a huge fan of Pendleton Ward and Natasha Allegri. I even got to work with Natasha, who directed “The Summoning”! I was fangirling, it was so hard to act cool.

What’re your favorite cartoons?

Definitely Daria, Ren and Stimpy, South Park, and Adventure Time.

So about the witchcraft stuff – dabble in witchcraft yourself?

Not really, but I’m very interested in paganism and witchcraft. I study it, love the history behind it. My friends and I mess around with tarot cards sometimes, but I haven’t gone farther than that… yet.

Two Birds, One Stone... aka One Post, Two Topics: Tom Sturridge Tarot AND my 18+ Tom Sturridge Discord Server

Hey, so, I said I would be back with more on the Tom Sturridge Tarot idea. Well, it's mostly a think piece at this point cuz I really don't have the $10,000+ for commissioning artists, figuring how to mass print and make decent boxes for the decks, and then shipping and all that... yeah, it's probably more than $10,000... if I had that kind of money on hand I'd first get a new car... but yeah... this is a think piece more than anything.

But I'd like some help from y'all. I have made a spreadsheet that I will share here that can be commented on by people that that have the link. I need suggestions for which of Tom's characters belong with what card. And because I am imagining a full art deck instead of a Pip deck, the minor arcana will include things like official appearances and photoshoot pics as an idea to put with a card. So, if you know your Tarot and you are well-versed in Tom's work and "lore", come join me on this think piece and comment on my spreadsheet giving me ideas on what to put where and why it makes sense.

Introduction

Lyall Shiba, also known as Corvus in rap battles, is a homicide detective for the Niigata Police Department and is considered one of their best despite his age. A once famous model and actor, everything changed for Lyall when he had a run-in with “The Sweetheart Killer” and became the only one to ever survive him. Now, after discovering that the person who attempted to kill him is participating in the DRB, Lyall has convinced his boss, Seiji Tsukimoto, to let him join his team. 

Lyall is a tall man in his early 20s with a lean figure and is considered extremely handsome. He has slightly wavy black hair that stops at the base of his neck and right swept bangs covering his forehead. His eyes are bright turquoise and are hidden behind a pair of round black rim glasses. A notable trait of his are the multiple track marks on his arms from his drug addict days. He also has several tattoos across his body. 

He usually wears a white button-up shirt, a black dress tie with a silver lion pin in the middle, and a dark blue sweater vest. He also wears black dress pants and black dress shoes. For accessories, he wears a pair of silver studs and a silver watch on his right wrist. 

Outside of work, Lyall dresses in something completely different. He goes for a more goth style with a black long sleeved button shirt, black skinny jeans, a black corset, a leather harness around his legs, and black combat boots with belts. He also exchanges his glasses for contacts and wears heavy black mascara and dark blue lipstick. For accessories, he wears a necklace with a silver ankh hanging from it, a black studded choker, several silver rings on both hands, and multiple silver piercings across his face and ears. Personality

Lyall is known to be quite flirtatious and confident, with many falling for his charms and a smooth way of talking. Well aware of his good looks, Lyall is not above using them to get information out of people. He is also quite intelligent, using his unmatched intuition and sharp observation skills to see through everybody, a skill he uses to his advantage. 

Lyall is extremely obsessed determined to solve his cases, going as far as to twist and even straight-up break laws at times. He is under of the opinion, that why should it matter as long as he can provide some sort of closure to the families of his victims. Even if it means getting in trouble with his supervisors. Lyall also is also quite empathetic and often thinks of other people's feelings, and, in some cases, he has been known to conceal facts to spare people from being scarred by the ugly truth.

However, underneath his charming smile, Lyall suffers from extreme guilt. Even now, Lyall doesn't understand why he of all people survived the Sweetheart Killer. It eats at him, with Lyall in the past even going as far as abusing drugs to ignore how he felt. Now, after learning that Touya Kisaragi has been allowed to roam free, Lyall can't help but feel something new. Revenge. Lyall can feel it festering within him. He can't help but want vengeance against the person who tried to kill him and who killed so many others, even if it means throwing everything else in his life away.

Welp have some Total Eclipse facts

This au is still being plotted since I'm delaying the story for a bit due to things going on

Although Total Eclipse is just Eclipse and Moon sharing a body. Total Eclipse keeps forgetting who he was and felt like their own person. Possibly Eclipse feeling like TE is a way to feel like himself again within Moon

Total Eclipse's eyes change depending who is in control. If the eyes are normal it's Moon. If the eyes are widened it's Eclipse

Total Eclipse is actually Strong and is able to hold heavy metal. So basically he's able to take down that crazy fangirl lady in one kick

His movements are swift you can't recognize who is in control and who's fighting

Bailynn Lo-Shanta

Character Lore:

Bailynn Lo-Shanta is a Human-Jotuzon hybrid born in Westshore, California. She is one of the very rare Giants to be born and raised on Earth, due to the Giants living in another world.

Born as a giant of half-human blood, her parents, Athene Lo-Shanta and Irwin Wilson, used her Jotu-Bracelet to transform her into a human (named Bailey Wilson) so that she can easily blend into human society.

She is often regarded as the "smartest kid in Westshore", and a straight-A student who won several spelling bee championships and local science fairs.

She keeps all of her theories and documents inside her own Paranormal Journal, passed down to her by her father. It's where she writes many interesting facts and theories about the Jotuzons, as well as their culture and biology.

Bailynn is MADLY in love with Terrina! When the girls first met, they were squealing and fangirling over each other, but Bailynn is very serious about keeping Terri out of trouble.

To contrast with Terri's naivete and cheerfulness, Bailynn has a more serious and pragmatic personality, but she can still be just as a much of a hyperactive fangirl as Terri is.

When we first meet her, Bailynn begins as a shy and antisocial science nerd, and evolves into a confident and powerful - yet gentle - science nerd when she becomes a Jotuzon/Giant.

She identifies herself as a trans-Jotuzon, meaning that she feels that she finally has full agency in becoming who she wants to be, instead of her parents forcing her to blend in. She's still figuring it out, but she feels more comfortable - and happier - having an alien body instead of having a human female body. She may not be transgender in the human sense, but she believes transaliens can fit under the transgender umbrella if they have a different concept of gender.

Bailynn took gymnastics classes as a young girl, and she still retains her gymnastics skills to try out for the cheerleading team, and to perform parkour around her home.

As a Humazon hybrid, Bailynn is able to shrink herself down to her human size and enlarge herself back to Jotuzon size at will. After switching between human and Jotuzon forms, Bailynn eventually choose to permanently revert to her Jotuzon form so that she can learn to control her sizeshifting powers, as well as her retained Giant strength.

Bailynn, as a micronized Giant, often has trouble controlling her super-strength without her Jotu-Bracelet neutralizing such strength. She wasn't as klutzy as she was when she was a human, but she's learning to be very gentle with her strength. After all, Bailynn's the brains and Terri's the brawn.

Her full human name was Bailey Rose Wilson. Her father used to call her Rosewell as an affectionate nickname.

Her other nickname is Oddball, after being called Oddball by her classmates numerous times. She hated it at first, but she eventually learned to embrace it like a badge of honor.

Bailynn loves her human friend group and acts as the group's leader. She doesn't want to abandon her human friends even after becoming a Jotuzon, but she also loves being part of a Jotuzon friend group at the same time.

Bailynn has a huge heart of gold (or two!), and is always there to welcome the "outsiders" into the town of Westshore, but people rarely take her seriously because of how weird she is.

After Irwin died from illness, Bailynn cried for 3 days straight and had a hard work focusing on her schoolwork, after being a top student during middle school.

Her Sweet 16 birthday party was Mardi Gras-themed. She saw it as an opportunity to honor her deceased father and his life, rather than just mourning over his loss.

Speaking of which, Bailynn is deeply connected to her New Orleans heritage through her father's blood. She believes in tarot readings and voodoo dolls, and wants to visit New Orleans every year for the annual Mardi Gras parade. Not sure if anyone in the Big Easy would be comfortable with a giant alien girl roaming the streets though...

She’s perceived as an outcast by the other residents of Westshore due to her “weird” obsession with unexplained phenomena. Oftentimes, she preferred to stay home and rewatch B-Movies and episodes of the Twilight Zone instead of engaging in social events with her friends.

When Terrina first came to Earth, she left a light on to attract the alien to her home, while everyone else was slightly terrified. She was very eager to ask her many questions about who she was, and she provided a place for her to stay in her parents' garage.

Before meeting Terri, she was very fixated on studying the mysterious giant aliens that her father once encountered, only to have one of them in her garage the next night. What perfect timing!

While Terrina aspires to fix the universe on a large scale, Bailynn focuses on the “little people” and the bystanders who also need help. Sure, Bailynn might be a brilliant astrophysicist in the making, but her heart is bigger than her brain. All she wants is to help people in need, whether she's liberating the oppressed, or speaking out on public issues.

Whenever she feels stressed out, she climbs onto Terri's chest to hear her two thumping heartbeats. Bailynn finds a source of comfort whenever she's embracing the wonders of Jotuzon biology.

When Bailynn is human-sized, she likes to ride around on Terrina's hand, within her curly mane of hair, inside her pocket, or on top of her shoulder, but she feels much more safer and secure while on Terri's palm.

Bailynn is often Terrina's conscience figure who is constantly keeping her out of trouble. Let's face it, somebody's gotta keep a giant like her under control.

She learned about her own Jotuzon heritage while she found archival photos of Irwin and Athene and the old Jotu-Bracelet they kept for her.

Athene gave birth to Bailynn inside the couple's backyard garage that she built. She insisted that she would deliver her daughter on Earth so that Irwin would be by her side. Needless to say, Irwin was thrilled to witness a live Jotuzon birth up close, but even more thrilled when that giant child was his child as well.

With her being born and raised in Westshore, Bailynn has a strong attachment to the planet Earth, even while she's bonding with the rest of her Jotuzon sistren on El-Doe.

Since Athene had to disguise herself as Bailynn's human stepmother, Martha Wilson, Bailynn assumed herself to be a tragic orphan who ended up on the doorstep with no mother. Turns out, that was far from the truth.

Irwin and Athene weren’t bad parents, per se, they were planning to tell her the truth about who she was as soon as she became a teenager. But sadly, Bailey was left in the dark after Irwin died.

While growing up, she had a stronger bond with Irwin Wilson, and was eager to see his inventions working.

Bailynn is major trans ally. She has a transgender heart sticker on her television set and another on her locker that reads "Trans Is Beautiful", foreshadowing her eventual transformation into a Jotuzon.

Bailynn beams with absolute joy whenever people address her by her Jotuzon name, instead of her human name.

Her biggest aspiration is to follow in the footsteps of her astrophysicist father Irwin and her chemist mother Athene, while also finding out which world she belongs to the most.

Escaflowne Voice Meme Part 1

Encouraged by @fayrinferno, here I am, six years late for @drkstars-art's Escaflowne Voice Meme. I'm a newer fan, though, so you'll have to forgive me. I'd love for anyone else new to this or the fandom to join in!

Introduce yourself! When did you first watch Escaflowne? What brought you into the fold? 

I'm afraid to answer because...gatekeeping, but here goes.

My husband watched it on Fox back in '96. He heard about the kickstarter and bought the Funimation Blu-ray set and forced me to watch it, quite against my will, in July 2020. I didn't start liking it until the episode Van pushes Merle's head down. Even then I didn't pay much attention until the moment Van catches Hitomi near the drag-energist mine, then I died hard and reawakened a new woman. (Wish I were joking. Totally not.)

I'm now familiar with both the original English and the Japanese dubs. I like them all.

Who is your favorite character and why? Was it love at first sight?  Has any of their qualities or quirks swayed you on characters in other series? 

I relate hard to Hitomi. I was a green-eyed, annoyingly energetic, average-looking, and very boy-crazy teenager. I ran in track, dabbled in tarot reading, and crushed on many a tall boy with blue eyes. I even had a crush on the cute, tall track star (more on that later).

So, that said, who's my favorite character?

Van, obviously. There's something I just get about him. Perhaps because I was raised by a very manly, very stoic man. He just resonates with me.

Which side are you on? What do you think happens Post-Hitomi when she leaves? Who do you think will be the next opposing power? 

I'm on Van's side. I hope he keeps Basram in check.

Least favorite plot point? Was there something you think should have changed? What do you think would have made it better. 

Varie. I loved her and her black-green hair and also hated how she totally emotionally ruined Hitomi, blaming her for all the bad things that happened to Van and Gaea. Hitomi's going to need years of therapy to undo the damage she did with one conversation. We want to know what's with that green energist that Van gets?

Also, in spite of the fact that the scene where Van catches Hitomi changed my whole heart, I do not, in fact, fangirl over his wings.

OTP? What kind of art and fiction would you like to see? What are some head canons you have for them? What is you NoTP

Van and Hitomi. All the SFW art and fiction. All the head canons. Every iteration. I love AUs the most. I've read almost all the complete AUs out there.

I'd love to see more Dryden and Millerna stuff. And Gaddess with any other lady in the series. Also, I would totally read Hitomi and Folken.

NoTP? Allen and anyone else. He's so EWWWW.

Anyone with Celena/Dilandau, unless it's an AU. You have to really convince me that they've had a lot of therapy before they're healthy enough to have a relationship.

Storytime. When I was 15, I was in track, I was in love with the popular track star, and I wanted him to be my first kiss. BUT when we got close enough for that, he had a super greasy face that grossed me out. Also, he rejected a gift I gave him.

What did I try to give him?

A stone pendant.
