hey leverage gang. i'm writing an absolutely batshit insane crossover. it's not a mega-multi-crossover but the thing i'm crossing it over with is, at least on the surface, a completely different vibe from leverage. i know nothing about the leverage reboot but i know that the og series will let me:
draw Grief-Stricken Angry Father Who Went Depresso Mode, Then Turned His Anger On The System That Killed His Child And Eventually Ended Up With At Least One Coworker Who Put Up With His Bullshit Until He Went Too Far (At Which Point He Got The Sense Slapped/Punched Into Him) parallels
addendum to the last: the character getting paralleled also ends up in a roommate situation with their ex-coworker after the fact, so. that's another piece of evidence that the venn diagram is almost a circle
make Chaos (K-OS? i read some of the spinoff books a while back and the spelling was inconsistent so i'm not really clear on that) relevant to the plot bunny at hand
go HAM with the fact that apparently each season of the show had a theme and s2 was "family," which makes me giggle evilly inside because that fits SO nicely with the crossover idea. client comes to the crew to get (essentially) his kids back. they end up grabbing an extra kid who'd been stuck there longer. this is the kid who was thought to be dead by the character getting nate parallels. nate will Have A Time with this realization <3
however, leverage has always been floating in the back of my brain without any real, concrete timeline. moreau is in here somewhere with the time nate wemt to jail between seasons, the time sophie got switched out with tara for a chunk of a season, and miscellaneous episode plots, but i have no idea which order they happened in. like none. and i don't want to just go "it happens sometime in s2-s4" because. that's a MASSIVE chunk of the timeline. that'd be like saying "oh yeah i learned to make authentic chicago pizza somewhere around here" and gesturing to the entire midwest on a map. i don't want to reference things that don't happen yet.
so. are there any potential places in the timeline of s2-s4 that i could conceivably cram a fanfic into?
and for long-time followers of my own bullshit: yes, this is still more stick figure brainrot <3

IBO reference notes on … the Gundams (part 1)
[Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Addendum 1]
Or: a spotter’s guide to the Calamity War.
[Note: I tried to post this twice today before figuring out that one of the images was causing it to be consigned to Tumblr oblivion. Apparently a shot of Lt. Crank's gloved hand was too racy for this site. Yeah.]
I said at the time that the fanfic Of Obsessions and Erotemes was written as an alternative to writing an essay expanding on my thoughts regarding the Gundams in Iron-Blooded Orphans. This is probably not strictly accurate, however, and I've been struck by the urge to take a figurative walk through the canonical examples out of the 72 Gundam frame type mobile suits.
I want to focus on the Gundams as they started out during the Calamity War, as far as that is possible, and what this says about the nature of the conflict. I will probably follow up at some point with notes on the mobile armours too, since they are the flip-side of this narrative. As I’ve had cause to mention before, I’m generally content with not knowing too much about the historical event that serves as the basis for IBO’s world-building. I think that adds rather than subtracts from the story. Still, it is fun to play with what we get and piece together an impression of what happened three hundred years prior to the series’ beginning.
For the purposes of not writing a post ten thousand words long, I’ve split the Gundams into three groups based on numerical position in the master list, which is of course taken from the Ars Goetia. Here, I will be drawing on Crowley’s edition.
All images shown here are either borrowed from the Gundam Wiki or are my own screenshots.
As with all my posts like this, spoilers are present for everything.
The Gundam frame
Tumblr media
Let’s start with what is under the hood, to whit: the Gundam mobile suit frame.
I covered some of this in my post on the aesthetics of the mobile frame concept, but the most important detail about the Gundam type is how human-like its proportions are, in both limb structure and eye placement. Unlike other frames, this is intended from the start to be used with an Alaya-Vijana system, so designing it to more closely approximate the human form makes a great deal of sense.
At the same time, there is something fittingly demonic about the skeleton, down to the claw-like fingers. However it must be noted that this is specifically Barbatos’ frame; the talons on on the feet are not reflected on the others. Indeed, based on the design work for Kimaris and Flauros, the feet are the part that varies the most from machine to machine.
A Gundam’s power – both in the sense of motive force and superior strength – comes from the twin Ahab reactors making up its torso. It’s the only mobile weapon in Iron-Blooded Orphans confirmed to have multiple reactors, with the implication that this boosts the output beyond simply adding the two together. Indeed, when operating at full capacity against a mobile armour, Barbatos seems barely able to contain its own energies.
Ancillary material states Ahab reactors are made ‘on a plant near a fixed star’, implying a difficult process to begin with (or at least a factory in orbit of the sun). Synchronising the reactors so they run in parallel is adding extra complexity on top of that, which is one of the reasons Gundam construction is a lost art. These things are the peak of mobile suit design and have never been equalled since they quite literally saved the world.
A Gundam, then, is not merely another weapon. It is the maximisation of human capacity, allowing a pilot to exceed their bodily limitations to destroy an inhuman enemy. We don’t know for sure the Calamity War pilots ended up in the same sorry state as Mikazuki (though the taleof Agnika Kaieru’s spirit residing inside Bael carries some interesting implications). But we do know the Alaya-Vijnana places extraordinary pressure on human physiology by its very nature, and the Gundams themselves come with competing limiters as a result. One that disengages in proximity to a mobile armour, allowing the full force of the reactors to be unleashed; another that switches on at that point, to stop this burst of power immediately overwhelming the operator. Only by accepting the danger can the pilot proceed with their attack.
It’s a duality of ultimate strength and ultimate risk that makes the Gundam frames seem like suitably desperate creations. They are the demons that prevented total apocalypse, while consuming their pilots body and soul.
ASW-G-01 Bael
Tumblr media
The first king of the Hell, and therefore presumably the first Gundam to have been constructed. From latter machines, there is the suggestion that deployment order did not match the numerical codes, so it isn’t entirely clear if we can solidly say they are numbered in the order they were built. But it seems reasonable to assume that this represents the start of Gundam operational history.
If we can take Bael to exist in the present exactly as it did in the War, it is a relatively simple affair, sporting nothing more flashy than a pair of wing-like boosters (I say wing-like purely because they are not functionally wings; they’re more an elaborate jet-pack). From a design point of view, Bael otherwise matches exactly to the template set by the series’ hero machine, Barbatos: the armour and thruster placement is identical and we may take this to be the default.
The combat philosophy behind this machine appears to be the same too: strike fast and strike sharp. It follows that Agnika Kaieru was the kind to lead from the front. Indeed, kit manual text makes it clear he was self-sufficient in battle, taking down mobile armours solely with his twin swords. Given McGillis holds his own against an entire fleet for a while, this doesn’t feel like a stretch and it certainly explains why the man became such a legend.
The symbol on Bael’s left shoulder is the original Gjallarhorn logo, which more directly presents the source of the organisation’s name: the horn that sounds Ragnarök. This would later be elaborated into the flag used in the present while remaining as a some sort of badge/pin or medal on officers’ uniforms. I find that fitting, that something simple would be built up over time into a grander image, disguising the root truth. In many ways, that sums up Bael’s place in history.
Tumblr media
From the Ars Goetia:
The first Principal Spirit is a King ruling in the East, called Bael. He maketh thee to go Invisible. He ruleth over 66 Legions of Infernal Spirits. He appeareth in divers shapes, sometimes like a Cat, sometimes like a Toad, and sometimes like a Man, and sometimes all these forms at once. He speaketh hoarsely. This is his character which is used to be worn as a Lamen before him who calleth him forth, or else he will not do thee homage.
Tumblr media
Notably, the sigil used for Gundam Bael’s interface does not simply replicate the 'canonical’ seal from the Ars Goetia but rather reinterprets it.
Tumblr media
Clearly OG Gjallarhorn had graphic designers on staff. Also, Bael’s main console screen is of a uniquely narrow design, in a rather elaborate housing. It would seem the cockpits were refined for later models, simplifying things towards a standard pattern seen in Kimaris and Gusion that would itself go on to become the standard for Gjallarhorn 'suits.
ASW-G-04 Gamigin
Tumblr media
Pretty much all we know about Gamigin is that it exists, it was originally piloted by Kalf Falk and it made it out of the Calamity War in one piece. Oh and someone in the armoury department was having a laugh the day they issued this Gundam its weapons.
Tumblr media
Seriously though, if Bael is the default, this is a heavy-duty model. Gamigin looks a hell of a lot less manoeuvrable, even accounting for the extra thrusters built into its skirt, and its standard-sized arms appear positively weedy compared to the heft of the body and legs. Clearly though, that was a trade-off deemed acceptable for the sake of destructive capacity.
The giant Gatling gun speaks for itself, but the revolver axe is the more interesting item here. As silly as it looks, it’s represents the (presumed) earliest incorporation of Dàinsleif weaponry into a Gundam frame mobile suit.
'Dàinsleif’ is a term used to refer to anything that launches javelin-like projectiles at high speed with the intent of puncturing nano-laminate armour. It’s unclear if the present ban on their use extends to smaller-scale versions like this, which is a point-blank deployment of the technology.
The blunt side of that axe is designed to strike an enemy and fire a spike straight through it. Crude but effective. Or so we can assume given this machine was piloted by one of the first Seven Stars and therefore must have destroyed a great many mobile armours.
From the Ars Goetia (Samigina/Gamigin):
The Fourth Spirit is Samigina, a Great Marquis. He appeareth in the form of a little Horse or Ass, and then into Human shape doth he change himself at the Request of the Master. He speaketh with a hoarse voice. He ruleth over 30 Legions of Inferiors. He teaches all Liberal Sciences, and giveth account of Dead Souls that died in sin. And his Seal is this, which is to be worn before the Magician when he is Invocator, etc.
Tumblr media
This is one of several demons with multiple names listed in the Ars Goetia. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern to which was picked as the ID for the corresponding Gundam.
ASW-G-08 Barbatos
Tumblr media
Teiwaz are stated to have restored Barbatos to its original state so we can assume the 4th form represents the version that fought in the Calamity War. Given this, it likely used a katana in battle, as the sword Teiwaz provides bears the same logo as the 'suit and we know from their work on Flauros that Gundams store information about their own weaponry (see also Mikazuki’s sudden competence with it when he connects deeper to Barbatos).
Intriguingly, with the retroactive introduction of predecessor designs, it appears Barbatos takes cues from both Bael and Gamigin, which ties these three low-numbered models together nicely. It is also relatively unspecialised in comparison, lacking the features that mark out the previous two. When found, it had a small buckler shield built into a gauntlet on its left forearm, similar to those the 5th form in the series would use. However, there’s no indication if this was used as a mount for mortars like the later version, leaving us with a machine that appears to have been a simple melee combatant.
Tumblr media
The absence of gimmicks showcases just how powerful Gundams are in comparison to other mobile suits, at a baseline. In any given fight during Season 1, Barbatos is faster, stronger, and more adaptable than its opposition, and while we see it built up with add-ons over the course of the series, those often seem to get in the way or provide only passing advantages.
Since my focus is on the Calamity War, I’m not going to go into any detail regarding the Lupus and Lupus Rex forms. But I will posit the idea Barbatos’ original pilot was of a different temperament to Mikazuki. If it is indeed their 'ghost’ who comes to his aid in Edmonton – some trace left behind in the system that allows him to understand the katana in the nick of time – they seem to have been a master of that weapon, favouring lethal precision, in stark contrast to Mikazuki’s gradual transformation into an animalistic, living weapon.
(The mace that Mikazuki leads with seems to have been something Maruba bought for possible use if he could ever get Barbatos running, rather than a relic of it previous operations.)
From the Ars Goetia:
The Eighth Spirit is Barbatos. He is a Great Duke, and appeareth when the Sun is in Sagittary, with four noble Kings and their companies of great troops. He giveth understanding of the singing of Birds, and of the Voices of other creatures, such as the barking of Dogs. He breaketh the Hidden Treasures open that have been laid by the Enchantments of Magicians. He is of the Order of Virtues, of which some part he retaineth still; and he knoweth all things Past, and to Come, and conciliateth Friends and those that be in Power. He ruleth over 30 Legions of Spirits. His Seal of Obedience is this, the which wear before thee as aforesaid.
Tumblr media
Again, we see a redesign of the seal for Gundam Barbatos’ start-up sigil.
Tumblr media
I like the choice to make the lines more dynamic.
ASW-G-11 Gusion
Tumblr media
We don’t know if this is what Gusion started out looking like. Gusion was found in a debris zone and passed through various hands before it reached the Brewers, and we know the Brewers’ Man Rodis are custom jobs, more heavily armoured than standard Rodi frame models. On balance, this is probably something they cooked up to fit their requirements.
But gives us an idea of the limits of a Gundam frame’s flexibility. The arms and legs have been stretched outwards from the main body to accommodate the armour load-out. You can see a glimpse of the piston that operates the hip joint under the skirt in the image above, providing a sense of where the legs have been moved. Quite how this works is unclear since we only see the head exposed when the Turbines start deconstructing this form. The fact it does work emphasises just how far the Gundams can be reconfigured. The Turbines even go so far as installing extra arms into the Rebake version given to Akihiro, seemingly with no issues at all.
Tumblr media
Gusion also provides an example of the fate suffered by quite a number of the Gundam frames: that of being lost and forgotten after battles during the Calamity War. The figure provided for how many frames are known to have survived is 26, but it’s unclear where that sits in the timeline of IBO canon, throughout which several Gundams are uncovered from previously hidden resting places. Certainly it appears only a minority of such 'suits remain in Gjallarhorn’s custody. While some have most likely been destroyed outright, many may still be drifting among debris fields or buried at the sites of battles from three hundred years ago.
It’s a neat conceit, leaving fertile ground for fanfiction or spin-offs to play on, and underscores that these machines belong to a bygone era most have forgotten about.
From the Ars Goetia:
The Eleventh Spirit in order is a great and strong Duke, called Gusion. He appeareth like a Xenopilus. He telleth all things, Past, Present and to Come, and showeth the meaning and resolution of all questions thou mayest ask. He conciliateth and reconcileth friendships, and giveth Honour and Dignity unto any. He ruleth over 40 Legions of Spirits. His Seal is this, the which wear as aforesaid.
Tumblr media
The connection between the machine or pilot and the Ars Goetia descriptions is somewhat variable throughout this list. In some instances there’s nothing obvious at all. However, I love that Gusion bestows honour and dignity because of how beautifully it ties into Akihiro’s arc. This said … I don’t actually know what a 'Xenopilus’ is. My first thought was 'Xenopus’ and a frog motif certainly would explain Gundam Gusion’s appearance. But I don’t think that’s right? Answers on a postcard, please.
That’s where we’ll leave things for today. I will probably post the next instalment sometime tomorrow.

Alright listen up you 🫵
This is now an appreciation ask for the Last Ronin Discord server because it is absolutely amazing and it has been bouncin’ around the think sludge.
When first reading tlrd, a concept that brings to life what a bunch of TMNT fans been wanting…a crossover and throws in a few hooks to keep you excitedly reading the chat fic.
Hook 1, the identity:
By setting up Ronin as mystery it hooks the reader to keep reading not so we find out the identity of the ronin because a lot people already know but for the other turtles to find out who this mysterious turtle is.
However once its revealed, (and it’s done absolutely excellently!) the reader is already staying for the shenanigans, the characters that feel written well enough that it feels like something the canon versions of those characters would do. (With exceptions where some bits feels like you put your own interests as well and those are also extremely enjoyable to read!)
The second hook, is one I didn’t suspect that I needed but wanted anyway. The other turtles finding out the biggest tragedy of Ronin’s life…his father, and why his brothers aren’t on the server.
The third hook is the new arrivals (fanfic crossovers and Mutant Mayhem Galore)!
At this point, we’ve seen the discord server through Ronin’s eyes but now we get to see through other newly arrivals eyes as well.
One more hook I thought about that might be one or might be not….the mystery behind the server as well.
We know Ronin’s Donnie made it.
But for what purpose? Was this a small beta and was going to create a bigger project with it? Or was a back up plan?
Did he know he was going to die and try to leave his brother something so he wouldn’t be lonely?
Is it ai? Is the server alive in the same way monster house is or is there something more?
Anyways so to go on a Rise Donnie-like tangent there. But I just wanted to say that I love the Last Ronin Discord Server series and it’s my favorite fanfics with how chaotic, intriguing and well written it is!
aah i'm getting pointed at!! alkjdasda
omg thank you so much??? the big text scared me for a bit but reading this made me so so so happy!!! you would not believe!!!! thank you thank you thank you!!! i love this i love this i love thisss!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
im the yellow blob you're the pink tiny blob (platonically ofc)
there's a lot of references to my other personal interests and i'm glad you enjoy reading them!! i restrained myself in making it all about my personal interests or else this fic is just gonna be 30 more chapters but me making reviews about video games and movies i've watched. things i almost wrote a chapter about:
tears of the kingdom
cocaine bear
RRR
Renfield (bc ben schwartz is in it and hearing rise!leo's voice shout "fuck you! fuck you! fuck all of you!" with his full chest was wild bc i was half paying attention to that scene and did a double take. also nicolas cage is dracula. asdljasd)
also i hinted on why the discord exists and why ronin's donnie made it in a previous collab ;0 i won't say which one bc that'd be too easy!!! let's just say...don has contingency plans. <: (a possible ((adjacent, not direct)) hint or two exists in the addendums as well)

WIP Wednesday Poll
(Help please 🥰)
Tumblr media
This is a question for any regular readers of Safest with You (all 5 of you 😂👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 ILYSM!!!!😘😘😘) and anyone else who reads a lot of fanfic in general!
I’m working on Ch. 11 "The Poker Game" rn; the purpose of this chapter is a mix of slice of life + relationship development + AU world building (we meet Poe!), but there is an opportunity for a storyline appropriate smut scene at the end.
My question is... do you ever feel like you don't want the smut? Especially in a this series like SwY which has mainly been slow burn fluff, are you annoyed that now that Din and reader are together, there is a lot of smut? (For the record, Ch. 13 is a planned non-smut chapter, but Ch. 12, 14-17 all have planned smut).
*this way you can read the smut as a standalone if you so choose; but if you want to just read relationship stuff that isn't explicit, you can ignore (I totally sometimes get in the mood where I just want fluff/angst, even if I love reading smut most of the time). I guess my real question is if anyone feels like they're no longer reading a story that they originally signed up for since the majority of the chapters to date have been smutless/fluff only?

Honestly the devs should have stopped making FNAF games after 4, that are canon to the main timeline. Any of the games that came out afterwards should either be a spinoff (Like FNAF World), in the future (After FNAF 3), or just in a separate timeline all together.
Because honestly, Sister Location kind of jumped the shark in regards to lore and the timeline itself. It honestly feels like it doesn't really make any sense compared to it's predecessors (or in line with the previous games, if that makes sense), and it raised a lot more questions than answers. While 1-4 felt like a complete story, with a few threads that could be tied up with fanfics and theories.
With FNAF World, it's a spinoff. So it doesn't have to add anything to the main series. But I haven't played that game in a while, and I want to get back to that one.
(I haven't watched any Let's Plays beyond SL, so my extensive knowledge ends there. Also please don't send me spoilers, I want to find stuff from the succeeding games on my own time. Whether that's through playing the games myself, or watching Let's Plays)
(No hate to any of the Devs/Creators behind FNAF, I love this series to bits and I want it to be the best it can be story-wise)
An addendum: I'm not opposed to more FNAF games after 4, I'm just referring to canon as "Canon to the main FNAF story". And Sister Location doesn't really make sense to me as a canon game under that definition. But that sounds like a different post entirely, and it's a whole can of worms that I don't want to get into tonight.

Hii, do you write fanfics about empress elisabeth from the series sisi?
Strictly speaking none (yet), but also yes (after a fashion).
In what probably seems like some over-splitting of hairs, all of my Elisabeth fics are all in the Elisabeth das Musical fandom right now, rather than in the Sisi (2021) series fandom. So Tod (Death) is running around in my fics as he is a major character in the musical.
I usually write Rudolf as the main character, but as one would expect Sisi does show up from time to time.
In the fic Smoking Mirror I did write Sisi's POV as chapter 1 to contrast with Rudolf's POV in chapters 2-5.
In my Mirrorverse, Sisi doesn't show up until Part 10, but after that does make pretty regular appearances, including two fics that are from her POV. Addendum: Elisabeth, Part the First and Addendum: Elisabeth, Part the Second.
For upcoming projects, I am going to write a fic that I will be tagging as in the Sisi (2021) fandom, though it will be more Franz-Josef centric (I anticipate it being his POV). That being said, Sisi will certainly be showing up pretty regularly there. She will be somewhat OOC compared to the series - I find that (especially in the first season, which is all I have access to) Sisi's portrayal is too sanitized and too modern. That is one of the things I will be changing for the fic. I like vaguely evil characters and FJ certainly has his vaguely evil moments in the series

🧪💘📚 for the fic ask game
I forgot to do this. :) whoops
🧪 Do you research for your fics?
Yes absolutely!! Particularly when it comes to teeny tiny details no one cares about but me. (What do you MEAN "you don't need to make every Zora NPC a family tree with ages and sometimes names and causes of death to write this fic that is 100% for you anyway"??)
(addendum to this: yes. I have specifically opened up BotW just to have Link travel in-between villages by water and then done math to find out approximately how long it'd take Zoras to arrive at their destinations. ahaha. haha. ha.)
💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?
OOOOH this is a good question. I feel like... both come to me fairly easily? But I kind of feel like angst is more fun because I feel like a scheming villain overlooking my Evil Plans going "huehuehueh YES YESSSSS!!!!"
📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?
GOD I really need to read both fanfic and like, actual books more. I had it for a good few weeks and then I lost it. Gotta try and get back up on that horse.
BUT YES the first thing that popped into my head is The North Remembers by QQueenofHades, which is a fanmade conclusion to the Song of Ice and Fire series. It feels SO MUCH like an actual GRRM book and I'm pretty sure it made me cry like at least twice. It is, until/unless GRRM actually manages to finish A Dream of Spring absolutely how I imagine it all ending haha.

what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
There are three of these, so three answers
1.) Mesothelioma - for a series of unfortunate events fic, trying to sort through memes and government lawsuits was fun.
2.) How to tan and prepare furs and the history of buttons- these were related. Too much knowledge about pickling skins now.
3.) What Mead tastes like- I don’t drink for med reason and this required an in real life survey of people for a fanfic, which is really fun to explain.
Addendum- I have just done in depth research of the Gith, which is a dnd fantasy race (technically two races from a similar origin with diverging philosophies) which is very niche to me, but anyone with Forgotten Realms background probably did as an amateur.

Addendum Revisions: For the Sake of Love
In light of the copious research we have done regarding IDW1 Arcee (for our own sake and interest, for a love of her story, and because of a thing we're working on that we haven't revealed on social media yet), we realized that there isn't anything in her story that suggests that the side effects of her surgery directly caused homicidal outbursts, and that that is just a fandom perception that we ran into in 2020 and took as fact. So we removed that from her story in Addendum chapter 6 in favor of her instead breaking from mission parameters recklessly or vengefully to take on functionists who weren't the ones targeted and/or going after people who helped jhiaxus. As important as we think it is to navigate the story of someone who has had outbreaks of violence from all the pressure and pain compounded with agency being meddled with to an extreme degree still being worthwhile to love and have alive and to try to help, we realized that is not quite Arcee's story, and it just took us several months to be at a point where we could change that, especially for her, so with her consent we've changed this. We want to say thank you to @quetzalpapalotl for doing a post specifically about Arcee's relationship with violence (which we can't find rn) that both deeply resonated with us from overlapping observations and part of what made us realize that we had missed something, and we knew what she was saying was true because we had recently read EXRID at the time, and so we went and read Spotlight Arcee again and lo and behold the actual words show a very calculated and passionate series of decisions that are not just for vengeance but also to save other people (she warns Ultra Magnus that a change is coming that will effect everything) and her rampage against the bots allied with Jhiaxus (which the Autobots didn't know) makes sense. As usual, Arcee was ahead of the game compared to the Autobots lmao and they because of their biases and lack of information were scared of her. (note we aren't excusing when she tortures people but like. Autobot guys get free passes on this apparently and she doesn't because of how they see her).
We are going to keep the idea of the original writing we did for the fanfic though for a future work though because we think the concept is very useful for subverting a stereotype around transfemmes

Intro/Fic Masterpost
(Updated as of 17/08/21: Dead links have been repaired and minor edits made to layout)
So, I’ve been in the Thunderbirds fandom for officially a decade now, and my first fic series isn’t complete yet. Life gets in the way, as we all know, but unless I specifically have a note on any of my stories on FanFiction.net or Ao3 that say they are abandoned, I always intend to get my stories completed. At some point.
I hang out on Tumblr to vent, muse and interact, mostly about fandoms. These include Thunderbirds (all three iterations), BBC Merlin, Marvel MCU, Star Trek TOS/AOS and The Shadowhunter Chronicles. I do post stuff of my own, but recently it’s just been hop-on-tumblr-to-ignore-the-real-world shenanigans. *grins sheepishly*
Please feel free at any time to drop me a DM here on Tumblr, or on either of my pages at the links above. I’ll always do my best to reply. I may not be actively posting content, (especially with the last two (six) years being a f*cking sh*tshow) but I’m constantly lurking (and working on things as the muse permits). *Waves excitedly*
************************************************************************
This is a masterpost of all my fanworks, whether they are writing, traditional art/digital renderings that I am happy with, etc. Others will be added as they’re completed.
Click here for a bit of waffle about what I’m trying to achieve with my Thunderbirds ‘Bound’ Universe.
These are my fanfic stories to date. All except one are Thunderbirds so far, and this will be updated as each new fic is added, as well as any supplementary material I create. All these links are for fanfiction.net, but I am currently in the process of uploading all of my stories to Ao3, for those who prefer that site’s format.
 Happy reading, and thank you!!

A note on my fandom involvement and expectations on your conduct within and regarding my stories:
I feed off of comments/reviews, so don’t be afraid to let me know what you think, either with grammar, flow, ‘isms’ (as most people are not cognizant of differences unless they are told by someone of a different English dialect) or characterisation, but I will say right here and now that I do not tolerate flaming in the slightest. Constructive criticism on how I can improve; yes, unwarranted abuse of how I have incorrectly portrayed your perception of the character/series; no. I would also very much appreciate if you were to contact me before placing any of them into any archive, or on any sites other than my own on here, fanfic.net or Archive of Our Own.
Also, Kent Slayton Tracy (younger twin to Virgil Tracy) is my OC, and no use of him in any way, shape or form may be included without my prior consent.
Thank-you for your cooperation. :)

You can find my fanfictions on Archives of our Own, as of right now it’s the only place I have posted them. I’m still relatively new on there (joined 2020-11-04). I’ve included a list of works in progress that are not yet published or still in the brainstorm process/first draft. As you can see I have quite a few ideas in my head!  You can find me on AO3 under GhostxofxArtemis.

Living!Chloe and Vampire!Chloe designs.
Quality is shit I know. Art isn’t my expertise, but I have a hobby of using character creations on Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV to make character designs or redesigns. As of late I have used them to make character designs for Unlife is Strange an AU crossover fanfic between Vampyr and the Life is Strange series. Currently ongoing on AO3.
What you see is two designs I have for Chloe Price, based on both Route A (based on the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay/Parting Ways endings) and Route B (based on the Sacrifice Chloe/Redemption endings).
I normally don’t put anything spoilery in my posts, but I figured the twist of a Vampire Chloe in a “Bay” ending timeline wouldn’t be a spoiler in on itself, but rather her role and characterization in Route B is. As you can see, I based Route A in part on her Life is Strange 2 redesign. Hence the green hair.
I also have vampric designs in mind for Rachel Amber considering she’s set to be the main character of the fic, I just don’t have images to save of them yet. I also have designs in mind for the corporeal/humanoid forms of The Red Queen and Myrddin Wilt.
The former of whom I modeled after Katie McGrath.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, Series Finale: Sozin’s Comet
In case you’re finding this post just by browsing the tags I’ve used for this post, this is the Watchathon, a blog where I’m hoping to watch an episode of a TV show every weekday, with a short blog post where I write down my thoughts as I watch. Each new thought starts with a hyphen and a bolded first word.
- Like so. Now that the introductions are over with, it’s time to break that one-episode-a-day rule and finish off Avatar: The Last Airbender with the climactic grand finale, Sozin’s Comet:
Tumblr media
PART 1: THE PHOENIX KING
- Okay, so, Katara in the intro is still saying “He has a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone.” I could’ve sworn they removed that part by this point... Maybe that was just something for the DVD?
- I like that the “Previously on” segment is so long. It really emphasizes how much buildup there was to this. How much the Gaang has been through to get here.
- I gotta say, I was not expecting a beach party in this episode.
- Somehow, for reasons I can’t explain because I don’t understand them myself, this ambush from Zuko made the audio of Nicolas Cage saying “Surprise attack!” in Into the Spider-Verse play in my head.
- Zuko’s really lucky that he earned Katara’s forgiveness before this violent pop quiz, seeing as just a half season ago... “You take one step backwards... one slip up... give me one reason to think you might hurt Aang - and you won't have to worry about your destiny anymore. Because I'll make sure your destiny ends right then and there. Permanently.”
- It never occurred to me that we didn’t get details on the war meeting before now.
- I’d bet hearing about this plan is the thing that tipped the scales and fully convinced Zuko to join the Gaang, and prevent the genocide of the Earth Kingdom.
- It’s so nice to see Zuko being welcomed into the group hugs. Especially when it’s Katara who invites him.
- I like that Zuko is teaching Aang to redirect lightning, the same way Iroh taught him.
- Even before it’s made explicit, you can tell that Aang’s uneasy about the idea of killing.
- Toph is just delighting in her role as Melon Lord, isn’t she?
- Someone out there has definitely written an AU fanfic where someone gets killed during this training and it’s Toph’s origin story as the malicious Melon Lord. If not, then I will write it myself, and it shall be the crackiest crack fic that ever cracked.
- Y’know what, I wish Toph could’ve actually gone on a life-changing field trip with Zuko too! Everyone else got one...
- This scene of Sokka climbing into Appa’s mouth is even more uncomfortable once you’ve... well, once you’ve grown up and... Okay, I tried to put it subtly, but I just can’t: Once you’ve been cursed with the knowledge of what vore is.
- Well, there’s a bait-and-switch if I’ve ever seen one: “Azula, you’re the new Fire Lord!” “=)” “But I am now the Phoenix King and still your superior who you will answer to.” “=O”
- Nice to see June and her Shirshu make a comeback.
- Does this mean Aang wasn’t running away on purpose? I honestly thought he was just going to that island to get some alone time, maybe meditate or contact the previous Avatars’ spirits.
PART 2: THE OLD MASTERS
- I’m not sure if this is something I forgot from June’s first appearance, or if it’s actually just never been brought up before, but I didn’t know her Shirshu had a name.
- It’s sweet that Zuko is seeking out Iroh’s help. Even if the method of finding him is, ah, well... unorthodox.
- Even Avatar Roku doesn’t know where Aang is. And here I thought it was some Avatar thing that had never been brought up before.
- It’s nice to see these people make a comeback. Bumi, Piandao, even Jeong Jeong and Master Pakku are here for the finale.
- I am surprised that we didn’t get an interaction between Toph and Bumi, though. The man Aang wanted to teach him Earthbending, the girl who ended up doing it... But I guess there’s only so much time, and I don’t think there’s any scenes that could be deleted to make room for it.
- It seems like Aang is just searching for confirmation of his beliefs, rather than actually seeking wisdom.
- I like that we get to see Bumi taking full advantage of the eclipse to take back Omashu from the Fire Nation, instead of just being told about it.
- It’s nice to see so many past Avatars beyond just Roku and Kyoshi, Avatars that we never heard of before, but now we hear their stories. But all of these past Avatars echo the same sentiment that Aang should kill Ozai, even an Air Nomad Avatar.
- What can I say about this scene of Zuko and Iroh reuniting? Forgive me for echoing a post I made on my main blog, but this is a scene that’s both sweet and sad.
Sad, because Zuko’s abuse at the hands of Fire Lord Ozai left him anxiously expecting furious punishment for crimes much less than what he did to Iroh. He can’t even comprehend the idea that Iroh would forgive him. His expression while apologizing to Iroh clearly shows he’s expecting the worst.
Sweet, because Iroh still loves Zuko like his own son, and doesn’t even need to forgive him because he never felt anger at Zuko’s betrayal: Only sadness and a worry that Zuko had lost his way, truly lost his honor. And Iroh is so clearly happy to see that Zuko has found his destiny, and joined the fight against the Fire Nation.
I could go on and on about this scene... It’s my absolute favorite scene in the whole series and it brings me to tears every single time I see it.
Gosh... it’s gonna be so awkward going back to the jokes and little mundane thoughts after this, isn’t it?
- Okay, I have officially given up on the idea of finding out what the heck this island is.
- I like the smile on Katara’s face, when she’s asked to team up with Zuko and fight Azula.
- It’s nice to know that Iroh will get the opportunity to run that tea shop, even if Zuko won’t be there to work with him.
- Okay, okay, so the island was actually a lion turtle. Frankly, I’ve still got a lot of questions. Even some new ones.
- It’s nice to see that the Netlix subtitles aren’t ALLCAPS anymore.
PART 3: INTO THE INFERNO
- Gotta hand it to the music, it can make even a scene of Azula making a fuss over a non-pitted cherry rather unnerving.
- Azula’s... Azula-ness has gone straight up to eleven with her newfound role. Hasn’t it? What with all the banishments, even banishing the entire Dai Li.
- Sokka, Suki and Toph are the real dream team.
- And we get a great final blind joke!
- I like that we get to see everyone doing their part in this final battle. All the members of the Gaang, even the White Lotus, get their moments to shine.
- The hallucination of Ursa shows that Azula, on some level, has an idea of what’s wrong with her. You can tell that they were thinking of a redemption arc for Azula come Book 4, though I am glad that didn’t happen.
- It’s chilling to see Ozai razing the forests of the Earth Kingdom like it’s nothing. And then to realize that this is what Aang will have to face.
- At first I wasn’t sure what Sokka’s plan was, but now that I see it in action, it’s really creative.
- I like the idea of a final one-on-one Zuko vs Azula duel(...a). It’s been a rivalry since Book 2, and it’s nice to finally see it get settled, even if I can’t imagine it’ll end up that easy: Otherwise, what would Katara do?
- It’s so cool to see Aang showing his prowess in all bending techniques, using them all in this final showdown.
- The background music during Zuko and Azula’s Agni Kai really sells it. It makes it sound almost tragic, and it is: two siblings pitted against each other, no choice but to fight to determine the future of the world.
- Azula might be slipping, but she’s still Azula, all too willing to cheat in what’s supposed to be a one-on-one duel.
PART 4: AVATAR AANG
- Netflix isn’t showing the intro for the individual parts, but I’ve gotta say... There’s no way that Katara’s still saying Aang’s “got a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone.” Right?
- I like that we get to see one last use of Metalbending from Toph in the finale.
- Dang, I hope this isn’t really the end for Sokka’s sword, or his boomerang. Especially when the sword was so cool, and one could say meaningful.
- I honestly wasn’t sure the Avatar State would ever be a factor again. But if there was ever a time, this is it. (ADDENDUM: This is probably the best time to clarify that I find and add the images at the start after writing the rest of the post.)
- And it’s so epic to see Aang bending all four elements at once.
- I like that Iroh got to burn down the Fire Nation flag.
- Since Zuko’s down for the count, I guess this means a battle between Katara and Azula, the latter powered up by Sozin’s Comet.
- To be honest, I could barely make out what Azula just said. “kjsdbksrbfkjvf family position to look after, kdcbkfh”?
- Katara may not be stronger than Sozin’s Comet-powered Azula, but she’s much more clever than Azula is right now as she loses her marbles.
- This is just the perfect kind of defeat for Azula. There’s no grace to it, no dignity, just writhing around, screaming and spewing fire as Zuko and Katara look on with pity.
- There’s probably a great practical reason someone could find for Spiritbending being a thing, but here’s why I’m glad it exists: Aang gets a happy ending. He gets to take down the Fire Lord, and hold true to his beliefs. If it weren’t for Spiritbending, if Aang killed Ozai, then he would be conflicted to the end.
And I don’t want that. I want Aang to get an unambiguously, undoubtedly happy ending, where the world is saved and that’s all there is to it.
Plus, Spiritbending is quite the spectacle.
- I’m guessing Sokka’s space sword and boomerang really are done for. But hey, there’s always headcanon. Maybe Sokka searched the forest and eventually found them.
- Weird to think that Ty Lee’s gonna be a Kyoshi Warrior.
- Again, I can’t believe Zukaang’s not the most popular Zuko ship in the fandom. Not a ship I’ll go to bat for, but it’s got all the hallmarks of a fan-preferred couple.
- It’s so nice to see Zuko’s coronation, and the official end to the war. It’s a happy ending for the whole world, the start of an era of peace.
- “Love and peace,” huh...? Now that’s funny to hear in the finale to this show, considering the next show I’m covering, come 2021...
- I like that we get to see one last confrontation between Zuko and Ozai. Even if Zuko’s question of where Ursa is doesn’t go anywhere (in the show, I know they touch on that in the comics), it’s nice to see the newly-crowned Fire Lord Zuko having evolved past a need for Ozai’s attention, or a fear of Ozai’s wrath.
- It’s nice to see the whole Gaang having fun at Iroh’s tea shop, in the end. And I stand corrected, this is where we get the final blind joke.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I’m lucky in that most of my childhood cartoons hold up as an adult. I watched Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, Code Lyoko, Courage the Cowardly Dog...
Still, there’s something special about Avatar: The Last Airbender. It had a unique aesthetic and world that no other show was quite like. It had a story that was like nothing I’d ever seen as a kid.
And it doesn’t just hold up, it’s even better.
When I was a kid, it was as simple as rooting for the good guys to win, and for the Firebenders to lose, except for Zuko once he turned good.
Now, as an adult (but mostly as someone with a DVD player/Netflix account so I’m not just watching whatever reruns I can catch) I can appreciate the character development, the arcs, the entire story.
I can appreciate how Aang grew from a little boy who does indeed have a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone, into a hero who could save the world.
I can appreciate how Zuko was an abuse victim who did what all abused children wish they could do and left his abuser.
I can appreciate... Gosh, Iroh’s entire character and dynamic with Zuko.
Some people say that Avatar “starts off as a kids show, then turns serious”, but I’d disagree. Avatar is a show where our heroes change, where they learn lessons, where they come of age and become the kind of heroes who can end a war that’s been going on for over a century.
As relieved as I am to be (mostly) done with these posts for the rest of the year, I am still oh-so-glad that I’ve rewatched Avatar yet again, and I know that I will be whenever I rewatch it in the future.
Now, with all that said... Farewell! Until the Christmas special, at least...
